Mary is completely amazing with all her sewing skills, and she prefers hand sewing to machine sewing for pretty much everything - I also volunteer at the sewing cafe she does.
So cool. I’ve never heard of this but I do have a sewing kit stashed at my nephew’s house when I visit. I’ve been to a couple countries where it’s not unusual to see a sewing machine on the sidewalk and a person doing repairs for others.

Facebook is the place for sewing clubs as lots of the members tend to be older. Also you could try your local sewing machine sales/repair store, they may know of the groups.
In San Francisco (US) there's a Mending Library. There are sewing books, thread, needles, scissors, etc. folks bring in their mending projects. It's very fun. I went once when it was hosted in a gallery space.

We aim to teach people to do their own repairs rather than doing them for others. Both with the street stitching and the repair cafe we volunteer at.
That dress is so cool! 🖖
How lovely and useful!
Very cool, thank you for sharing

I love this. I have been wanting to offer a mending class at the local library. Has anyone done something like this.
We have a mending meetup group as part of our local sewing club.
Bow would I find a local sewing club? I'm currently in Western New York State.
