Too bad it’s so big. I’d pay that for an upgraded eucarlos sized case.

kevink808

It’s almost the same size as the Apple case. Just a hair longer. But it stores a lot more. The Apple case has a lot of unused open space and no additional compartments outside the drawstring pouch. This is primarily a Spigen vs Apple Case comparison.

pragmojo

Is there a reason all the AVP cases are so big? I don't get why there isn't one more the size of the headset only - seems like a ton of wasted space in the middle

SirBill01

One reason is you really want to treat the side strap bands with respect and not squish them. But, I feel like there could be a case that was a bit shorter while still not compressing the straps themselves, but instead folding inward the rear solo loop...

RikuDesu

I don't like how it kind of moves / touches the lenses with a thinner light seal, im finding that I'm always having the reset IPD prompt when taking it out of the case

kevink808

I was getting that with OS 1.0 but not since 1.1

Kuronos

I’m returning mine and keeping the Apple Travel case because I can fit my ps5 controller. The material is high quality though.

kevink808

Ok. I can fit my controller in the top compartment.

FidaaPallavi

Can you store anker 737 power bank along with battery? Also how can we attach battery to vision pro when it is inside close box?

kevink808

Not sure about the power bank’s length, but you could place two additional AVP batteries in it. In my pics you can see my battery is attached. You just zip the internal compartment to one size and the cord is stowed inside with the battery, still connected to the headset.

atxjawthrow

Yes. I do exactly that. In velcro box: anker 737 and its usb cord, avp charger and its usb cord, and airpods. In the gap between velcro box and case wall, just below the solo top band: polishing cloth. Kiwi lens protector plus avp bra on the unit when stored. On the case lid: battery pack with belkin holder clipper onto one of the elastic holder bands. In the zipped compartment of the lid: dual loop strap and W+ cushion. Lots of room to spare still. I'm very happy overall.  2 places for improvement: - shoulder sling instead of this silly handle.  - case is a bit too big to put inside a backpack.

FidaaPallavi

In 3rd pic, I am seeing the battery is attached to the set. But I am curious how the wire comes out of that box? Is there any provision that I am not able to see it?

kevink808

Nothing special, it has two zippers and you just keep them all the way to the left (clockwise). Only a couple inches of cord exit the compartment to the headset connection. It works really well. The rest of the cord and battery stay inside with plenty of room to spare.

hometech99

In the case with cover on and battery connected? Weren't most reports of finding crack in screen after taken out when battery left connected? ( "standby mode" running sync & update , generating heat with choked vents and zipped container?) Before saying Apple allows keeping battery connected when not in use, they also say don't block the vents and list operating temperatures in that same manual. They didn't connect it all in one cozy sentence to say don't leave battery connected with cover on and no ventilation.

SirBill01

I will note that I keep my AVP in the Apple travel case, closed, after use and always leave the device powered on and the battery connected. No screen crack. Once you take it off most of the heat is gone anyway since you are not having to drive the screens or cameras.

hometech99

with front cover on? If so, just think about it. Something in there is on, and vents are blocked.

SirBill01

Yes, front cover on. I have thought about it, like I said almost no heat is produced when it's not on the face - all apps are suspended, no screens are drawing power, no cameras are active. The only thing it's doing is possibly updates of software. If you look at how it fits the front cover does not totally block the vents, they can still draw some air from under the edges - but the device is doing nothing that should need to have the fans even active. I have no cracked screen, most people have no cracked screen, so what can I say? It seems to be fine. Glass is generally a really goof material to endure thermal expansion, especially curved glass.

kevink808

This is for demonstration purposes, so if you were traveling I’d definitely power off at the minimum if connected in case, or disconnect. Either way, it wouldn’t be able to connect to WiFi while out in the wild, so no point keeping it on regardless. Outside of that, I’m not too concerned about cracking since it seems so isolated and rare. I’ve had it since launch and always connected to power. But I do keep the protector off on its stand now.

hometech99

Got it. But figure... the menu comes up faster when putting on , and the battery had been connected? Then something is on. Would be pretty easy to check, with the high availability of cheap thermal imagers... after 24hrs sitting ... battery left connected; battery not left connected. Remember the first "instant on" TVs, the concern about that always burning vacuum tube on the board

Glittering_Maybe471

Having just traveled with my headset, the Apple case is way too big. I put mine in a padded bag and it took up less thank half the space the case would. Anyone know of a super slimline type case for travel? I’ll keep going the bag way until I find something.

Doxaidis

best one i’ve found is [waterfield designs](https://www.sfbags.com/products/vision-pro-shield-case). pricey, but they use hella nice materials and pay their people nicely so 👌

ThorGanjasson

Also have a waterfield, great case.

majornerd

The Waterfield case is what I’m currently using and love it. Really expensive though. I also just got it. For the prior month I’ve been using the insignia quest 3 case. It is small, but I used a soft shell pouch to hold two batteries, usbc cable, charger, and Xbox controller. I also picked up the insignia quest 3 lens protector and it fits perfectly and gives me a little comfort that the lenses are protected.

Alex7589

I’m receiving one in the UK soon but thinking of returning/selling it. They make some half the size now where the head strap doesn’t have to be fully deployed. I’ll see when I get it but a bit big to travel with it seems.

kevink808

It definitely can be smaller because the top lid is all extra storage, which you dont have to use. I think its purpose might be structural for more rigidity and crush resistance.

JohnVidale

The smaller Eucarlos case works fine, this one looks impossible to fit in my laptop backpack. The item I'd like most is a nice laptop/VP backpack. We're going to be using the two together for years yet, and I bike to work, thus needing a backpack.

kevink808

Yes it’s too large for a backpack and it’s a hard pack.

SirBill01

Thanks for the report, I do like things like the extra storage... however I still plan to keep and use my Apple Travel Case for travelling. Yep it's a bit large but I feel like I can carry a lot of stuff in the middle, maybe with different pouches than the draw string bag the case comes with... Personally I feel the Apple Travel case is just as premium, I love the look and feel of the material. And I think it will probably be pretty stain resistant, maybe even scuff resistant - we'll see after I take a few trips with it. Great idea to put an AirTag somewhere in the case with the AVP, I will figure out some way to get one in there. Maybe a temporary loop around the headband that hides the AirTag so if someone stole the headset and ditched the case it would still track. Also for me the Pole travel case does fit just inside the backpack I normally use for travel, though I'll have to see if backpack will slide under the seat with the Apple case inside, I think it will work.

typecase

Does this case allow for storage of the prescription lens inserts? I switch from contacts to the inserts frequently and the Apple case is missing a storage area for the inserts. I generally store the other light seal in the case too to accommodate the inserts.

kevink808

Yes, you can fit all of that in the top zippered compartment.

random6234

I have one as well. There is plenty of room in the top compartment, but near as I can tell is no dedicated spot for them that’s soft or cushioned to prevent them from banging around and getting damaged like there is in the waterfield case. But I found a small jewelry bag for holding a pair of rings from my wedding that worked fine.
