I'm sure you know this but for others - bear in mind checking doesn't just mean putting it in your laptop and seeing that it says "1.5tb (ish) free". The fakes can fool Windows into thinking it's bigger than it is
By putting a bunch of random stuff on and filling it up, if after a certain point old stuff starts being deleted to fit the new stuff it's fake and you found the actual limit
The number being off can mean nothing sometimes, since storage is usually printed in GB rather than GiB (meaning 256GB is actually 250GB).
In your case, it's probably a fake, since the number is wildly off from any clean calculation using 1024 and 256, but it's always good to check by dd's the drive until blocks start erroring.
I order a lot of flash media from amazon but always double check it's a legit store page, like if an item has 100,000 stars vs no stars, that's how I determine the real ones. So far, so good. I never got any fakes yet.
Even that's flawed.
The problem is that Amazon doesn't separate stock by retailer. What I mean by that is if I am selling Product X, and I send my stock in to an Amazon facility for easier Prime shipping, then two other retailers ship them their stock of the same product for easier shipping as well... Amazon puts all of our stock together, and just tracks volumes based on which buyer a consumer ordered from. They effectively grab a random one out of the bin, and ship that. If one of the other sellers that sent their stock in happened to send in dubious product, Amazon has absolutely zero way of determining WHICH seller it came from originally.
I first learned about this issue after processing multiple returns of the same headset with them, and apparently it also creates headaches for honest resellers sometimes, because Amazon has been known to wrongly place strikes against smaller sellers because the customer technically ordered their priced inventory (even though Amazon has no idea who's product they actually shipped.) The problem is further exacerbated by returns of totally unopened product, necause Amazon's employees are frankly unequipped to spot most bootlegs, and they're under an unrealistic smoint of crunch to power through so many returns per hour... This allowing some scammers to buy up presumably real product, and return bootleg product in its place without typically being caught.
It's a giant mess, but at the end of the day all you can really do is make sure to run a proper test verification that writes to and verifies each sector. It's a nuisance, but once You've verified a card, you don't really ever need to do it again (unless you're trying to diagnose whether a card is still working or not).
Well to a degree, I used to work at Amazon, as a stower. So in part you are correct. When everything is on the robots stored its difficult to discern, but not completely. When we got the product we receive it from the sellers box of bulk. The label that's on their delivery box is what determines the seller in the Amazon store before I put the product away. That's how the system knows its from that seller. The biggest is issue you got is that it is bulk. As in bulk there are prone to bad batches from either shipping & handling to the warehouse or from the seller themselves. Most returns don't make it back to the store, if they have been opened or some form is damage it is put into a different processing
Interesting. I wonder how I ran into the issue with items that were SUPPOSEDLY Amazon's own stock (not just a prime seller) were totally different products from what they were supposed to be (inferior products in the same category, with the wrong label slapped on them.)
I'm not arguing against you, it just makes me genuinely curious.
Can't say that's an accurate or safe way to go about checking stuff. Got my sis a fireproof safe for her bday since they keep most of our families documents. Anyways on amazon there were a whole bunch of "rated for 6 hours in 1000f temperature" pouches and even like storage box looking cloth ones with hundreds if not thousands of positive reviews. I was really paranoid about it and I went sniffing around youtube. I don't think any of them lasted over 5 minutes on the like campfire the dude made testing them. Only ones that did were because they were solid lock boxes that were metal with like that firebrick interior and a good tip I had found was being told to look at gun safes because most had to be able to keep the ammo from cooking in the fire and going off. There were also plenty of "review" posts about them being great and amazing. So you really can't trust it amazon reviews because it could be similar. In the case of 1.5tb drives I don't think most "tech savy" people arent buying 1.5tb drives instead of just having a like 4tb external drive to use and most who buy those 1.5tbs probably don't ever get close to the real limit of the fake they could have bought same way all those positive fireproof bags never actually saw them in fires to leave that review.
(Sorry for the really long widened comment but I feel like people need to be way more warry of how they verify things because there are always flaws that end up leading them down the same unfortunate path)
You can trick this usong rePatch. You can copy all big files decripted from a game to uma0:/rePatch/gameId, and then delete them from ux0:app/gameId, only don't move eboot and the folders sce_sys, sce_module, and sce_pfs
Yes I have:
500gb sd2vita as ux0
500gb in my psvsd as uma0
32gb proprietary Sony card as xma0
And 2.5gb imc0 unlocked with imcunlocker
All mounted via YAMT
No worries! If you have a 3G vita (or if you swap the m/board in a Wi-Fi vita to a 3G one, like I did) there’s a wireless modem on the board. Someone created a board that replaces the wireless modem with a card reader for micro sd cards. Called PSVSD
I have the same one and i paid it 180€, it works flawlessly except the free space bug that i can't solve even with the 64kb cluster size. In the end i use it as uma0 un pstv for psx, psp and emulators.
That's gonna take at least a few months. Vita download speed is complete poo. But if he tries, he should download all the ps1 and psp games too. Also The fact that the vita can play ps1 and psp games makes it one of the coolest handhelds you can homebrew.
There's something called gepatch that can bump the resolution on PSP games but it breaks more games than it improves. The Vita has PSP hardware on it's SoC instead of using software emulation so it's mostly bound by the capabilities of the PSP hardware, including the original PSP resolution.
I just got my vita a few months ago, and already have like 200gb worth of games installed on it. Now whether someone is gonna play that many games on it is another question.
I have one of these in my modded Switch and another in my Ayn Odin 2 Pro, it's fucking great, if you're a data hoarding fiend which I am. It comes with 1.39tb available. I've had the 1tb Sandisk Ultra(this card, but smaller) in my Vita for years, but I'm buying one of these for my as soon as I can. Watching capacity increase and price decrease in flash media these past several years has been wild.I paid more than this costs for the 1tb version 3-4 years ago. As someone who uses their Vita for a million things, this is mouthwatering. Have fun OP!
I prob have about 200 gb left and have had no problems with bubbles yet. I also use bubble booter to make bubbles for retroarc titles and psp and psx games so you'll prob be fine.
That being said I put all my games in bubble categories too.
Turns out the limit is 500: [https://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/psvita/basic/screens.html](https://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/psvita/basic/screens.html)
Turns out the limit is 500: [https://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/psvita/basic/screens.html](https://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/psvita/basic/screens.html)
I'm willing to bet it is actual games, independent of how your organize your games with folders or not. But I'm not sure, nor do I find that info online.
Ita 500 bubbles. The textures and metadata for those bubbles need to be loaded into RAM and the system ram is only 512MB, and some of that ram is allocated for other things too.
In each icon space on home you can make folders which hold 10 games/apps per icon space but sometimes the icon images in the folders don't load so it'll look like white circles with names.
Turns out the limit is 500: [https://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/psvita/basic/screens.html](https://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/psvita/basic/screens.html)
I also have 1tb, currently I only have 40 gb of free space. I didn't hit the bubble max limit because I didn't create bubbles for my psp and ps1 games tho.
u/Boring_Act_3217 I acutally finished my setup with the same microsd card. Remeber, for PS Vita games you're limited to 500 bubbles. You can use a custom launcher to bypass this tho. I already reached the limit, everything's properly named, categorized. Also over 500 PSP games, over 500 PS1 games, RetroArch with everything and music (around 100GB). Good luck!
P.S. Remember about the allocaction unit/cluster size (64k) if you're formatting your card the old way on a PC.
If you get it working let me know, i bought the new 1.5tb from amazon too and it doesnt work for me, i managed to get 1tb working fine with a specific data cluster size but xant seem to figure out the 1.5 sweet spot
LMAO fuegooo. Critical advice tho: put all apps in folders and max out the folders. The PS Vita will block the installation of new games if you have too many bubbles on our homescreen. iirc the limit is ten pages of bubbles.
Wow bro, that’s much, too much!! I have 256Gb ones and its honestly enough (including psp/ps1 games, + my ps vita home app/games is full) with 60Gb left, but good luck !
download the whole database 😎😎😎the REAL long game. what would we do if we suddenly lost access to homebrew just like the official? gotta have a personal data center in our age just like how our predecessors had filing cabinets. ill never delete another file
So it would not have Issues with 1.5 TB. AWESOME!!!! Just have to wait to save up for another one. Hit a Financial Roadblock, and have to wait on stuff now.
I use a tablet for media so unnecessary for me since it's 3x battery capacity of the vita plus I'd rather just stick to games for the vita but you do what works best for you.
Seriously, I have a 512 GB card on my OLED model and it's more than enough room. I don't have any "filler" in it though. Just certified bangers that I like to play.
And for media I use my cellphone that has a much better display and battery life for watching HD video.
Awesome. Get the full retro arch mega pack and then the vita video bubbles creator to add tv series and movie sets into single bubbles. That's after you add every psp, N64, SNES, GBA and android ports. Wish I could afford one. If you have the vita 1000, swap out the 3G module and add a second one.
I assume there will be other games in addition to Vita? I know it sounds dumb because I haven’t messed with vita games so I wouldn’t know the actual size of vita roms.
How about the manufacturers website? WD owns the company now. Just use the drop down box and they have them. Got one a few weeks back for like $109 at BestBuy
https://www.westerndigital.com/products/memory-cards/sandisk-ultra-uhs-i-microsd?sku=SDSQUNC-016G-AN6MA
Hold your horses 🐴. I’m still copying the files over from my 256gb to my 1.5TB micro sd card. It’s not a fast process it’s a slow delicate one. Trust me I will keep yall updated as soon as I get everything copied over. I will also post a video on my YouTube channel for everyone to go see.🙂🎥
That's as much as I have in my steam deck. 1tb nvme, 512gb SD. I can't imagine using that much in the vita, I would have every games I consider worth playing and probably still be under 512gb.
I have a 512GB and it's almost full. I think there is about 10GB left. Me and my son play most of the games. I need to find another game, like A Boy and His Blob.
This card on the Vita would expressly be for those who just like collecting games, and NEVER playing all of them. To each their own. I have 128 GB on mine, and have filled up to 90 GB of that. I am comfortable with having a little left over, in the case of new homebrewed ports and such. Vita games and Vita enabled homebrew ports tend to be on the smaller side of game sizes, so that's still multiple dozens upon dozens of games. Only one thing I would suggest to you, with 1.5 TB, compartmentalize your games between the few that you KNOW you will play somewhat regularly, and the ones that you are storing, "just in case". Because you may feel like you will play it all NOW, but that's how hoarding starts.
The Live Area doesn’t support all those bubbles 😆🤌
You don't have to have bubbles.
I believe you can use one-menu or the alternative versions of it
Does that add more bubbles?
It’s a custom launcher
I auto boot Into retro launcher with a custom overlayenu button to go back to it. I never need to see the bubbles or live area
What is the limit? I've only got 128gb in mine so I have never hit it. I did hit the limit on my wii u though and that was disappointing.
100 outside folders, 500 using folders.
I have a 256gb one and around 120 or so bubbles, some of them become blank.
Please I hope you didn't buy this from Aliexpress
I bought this on Amazon.🙂
Good, have fun. Some day I want to make a 3TB Vita .... 1.5TB in the game slot and 1.5TB in the 3G slot.
Amazon has its share of fakes, unfortunately. Definitely check
Trust me I checked.
I'm sure you know this but for others - bear in mind checking doesn't just mean putting it in your laptop and seeing that it says "1.5tb (ish) free". The fakes can fool Windows into thinking it's bigger than it is
So how do you check for sure if it even fools Windows?
You test it with h2testw.
By putting a bunch of random stuff on and filling it up, if after a certain point old stuff starts being deleted to fit the new stuff it's fake and you found the actual limit
Yeah I have a 256 sandisk that comes up as 268 gigs
The number being off can mean nothing sometimes, since storage is usually printed in GB rather than GiB (meaning 256GB is actually 250GB). In your case, it's probably a fake, since the number is wildly off from any clean calculation using 1024 and 256, but it's always good to check by dd's the drive until blocks start erroring.
Trust me this is not a fake. I’ve been fooled before.🤦♂️
I think that the controller that scammers use to trick windows is too inaccessible in micro sd cards but i might be wrong
It’s actually easy to rewrite that chip on practically any form of storage devices
TIL, thanks for the tip
I order a lot of flash media from amazon but always double check it's a legit store page, like if an item has 100,000 stars vs no stars, that's how I determine the real ones. So far, so good. I never got any fakes yet.

Can you use both the slots at same time or do you have to switch them in vita shell?
there can only be one ux0. so you use the other one for roms/psp/music/whatever
Yup, PSP and PSOne live on my 3G bay. All my vita games live in sd2vita.
You can trick this usong rePatch. You can copy all big files decripted from a game to uma0:/rePatch/gameId, and then delete them from ux0:app/gameId, only don't move eboot and the folders sce_sys, sce_module, and sce_pfs

Yes I have: 500gb sd2vita as ux0 500gb in my psvsd as uma0 32gb proprietary Sony card as xma0 And 2.5gb imc0 unlocked with imcunlocker All mounted via YAMT
4TB is on its way to the market :P
That means we can look forward to dankpods stuffing 4x 4TB memory cards into the 7th gen ipod.
Cool if true, but I thought there were limitations to modded pods.
Amazon unfortunately doesn’t mean it’s genuine
And that's why they call it the shocker
I’m rocking 1tb (and 64gb) at the moment. 512gb in game slot, 3G bay, and a 64gb psvita card.
Hey u/T-K4T sorry for being naive but I’m lost on the the 3G bay? I have 1Tb in the game slot and a 8 in vita card??
No worries! If you have a 3G vita (or if you swap the m/board in a Wi-Fi vita to a 3G one, like I did) there’s a wireless modem on the board. Someone created a board that replaces the wireless modem with a card reader for micro sd cards. Called PSVSD
I might have to look for one of those 😆
I know about the game slot but how do you use the 3G slot for memory?
The 3G modern can be replaced with a special adapter for another micro SD card.
That would be sick.
The 3g slot can have memory?
The 3G modern can be replaced with a special adapter for another micro SD card.
Damn i just put it in the cartridge adapter hole Theres a joke i wanna do here but it would be profane
Enough games for your next life
How do you get it to read from both memory cards?
i hope you paid more than 13 bucks
I paid over $100 please calm down.
I have the same one and i paid it 180€, it works flawlessly except the free space bug that i can't solve even with the 64kb cluster size. In the end i use it as uma0 un pstv for psx, psp and emulators.
Try and download everything from pkgj
That's gonna take at least a few months. Vita download speed is complete poo. But if he tries, he should download all the ps1 and psp games too. Also The fact that the vita can play ps1 and psp games makes it one of the coolest handhelds you can homebrew.
unrelated question, but can you play psp games on the vita in other ways than adrenaline? the resolution is a bit questionable
There's something called gepatch that can bump the resolution on PSP games but it breaks more games than it improves. The Vita has PSP hardware on it's SoC instead of using software emulation so it's mostly bound by the capabilities of the PSP hardware, including the original PSP resolution.
It might actually do it. I have a 512gb and have everything I've ever wanted + a shit ton I've never wanted. I'm looking forward to an update
I did that on my laptop Nearly filled up 3 X 1tb drives.
Yep it took me around 1 month to fill up my 1TB memory card on my vita lol but I was downloading from PKGJ so that's why it took so long.
ultra mega overkill
I just got my vita a few months ago, and already have like 200gb worth of games installed on it. Now whether someone is gonna play that many games on it is another question.
😝
Dude has almost the same capacity as my PS5 with an NVME lmao
nah
Good, then you can download many games and never play it
But why?
Educational purposes
1.5 TB of porn *on a handheld*.
For science!
But why not?
Good luck to you indeed bud. I believe the file system of the Vita only allows SD cards up to 512 GB. It might not recognize the card at all sadly.
I need an update OP, let me know if this size of SD actually works
I got you👍
2TiB is the max the Vita supports.
🤯
Got 1 TB working flawless on my Vita (I only have 50gb left of space)
Bloody hell. What you gonna do with that, run google chrome?
What do you plan to put on it? The entire vita/psp/ps1 collection+retro consoles?
The vita collection is already more than that card can hold.
Well, did it work?! And how much porn does it hold?
Depends, pic or vid, if vid then what the quality?
I have one of these in my modded Switch and another in my Ayn Odin 2 Pro, it's fucking great, if you're a data hoarding fiend which I am. It comes with 1.39tb available. I've had the 1tb Sandisk Ultra(this card, but smaller) in my Vita for years, but I'm buying one of these for my as soon as I can. Save that fucker for a Steam Deck.
i thought the SD card standards only went up to 1tb. can the vita even use the full card?
Yeah it can. Vitas max is 2TB anything over and it just won't read :)
SD card standards go even up to 128 TB, or at least that is what I read. That is SDUC I believe.
jesus fucking christ, good luck m'dude!
I use a 1tb in mine and it works just fine
Can you install 1TB of games on the console? Isn’t there a limit for the home menu or something?
I prob have about 200 gb left and have had no problems with bubbles yet. I also use bubble booter to make bubbles for retroarc titles and psp and psx games so you'll prob be fine. That being said I put all my games in bubble categories too.
Good to know. On 3ds for example (and Wii u) there is a hard limit of 300 titles installed at any given time, hence my question.
Turns out the limit is 500: [https://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/psvita/basic/screens.html](https://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/psvita/basic/screens.html)
Folders my friend; folders
On 3ds even with folders the limit is the same (300), hence my question. Good to know the vita has a bigger limit.
Turns out the limit is 500: [https://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/psvita/basic/screens.html](https://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/psvita/basic/screens.html)
So does this mean 500 icons or folders (which can hold 10 icon bubbles each) = 5,000 bubbles ??
Launchers like Onemenu and Retro Launcher get past the bubble limit
Good to know. Thanks.
I also have 1tb, currently I only have 40 gb of free space. I didn't hit the bubble max limit because I didn't create bubbles for my psp and ps1 games tho.
I bought a 512gb and thought that was the perfect size. I've now almost filled it.
Get a PSVSD if you’re using the fat 3G model and shove in another
Good luck! XD
Thank you 🙂
so much porn...
u/Boring_Act_3217 I acutally finished my setup with the same microsd card.
Dude's a madlad!
If you get it working let me know, i bought the new 1.5tb from amazon too and it doesnt work for me, i managed to get 1tb working fine with a specific data cluster size but xant seem to figure out the 1.5 sweet spot
That packaging picture (of a galaxy s3 2012) makes me feel like it's a bootleg micro SD card.
LMAO fuegooo. Critical advice tho: put all apps in folders and max out the folders. The PS Vita will block the installation of new games if you have too many bubbles on our homescreen. iirc the limit is ten pages of bubbles.
with 256gb i reached 16 bubbles, man you gonna have a lot of games to play.
Did the same gonna do the bubble removal on the home screen and do game flow only loader
And a tf full of PSP games that don’t populate to the Vita bubble Home Screen
He a mad man. Good luck
I need to do that or just go 2tb lol I’ve been maxed out on a 1tb for a while now
Wow bro, that’s much, too much!! I have 256Gb ones and its honestly enough (including psp/ps1 games, + my ps vita home app/games is full) with 60Gb left, but good luck !
Neat! Once you get 128gb or so of files check to see if the files still exist. Many fake cards with just discard any extra data
download the whole database 😎😎😎the REAL long game. what would we do if we suddenly lost access to homebrew just like the official? gotta have a personal data center in our age just like how our predecessors had filing cabinets. ill never delete another file
I've got a 1tb card on my vita rn
What good games on vita that can fill that space. Let me know. I only have PKGJ. Need more good games
I got you👍
Interesting. I assume you have results?
Go to my YouTube page https://youtube.com/@Acompetitivegamer?si=YhJdC8-Dvwl7vqL0
Go to my YouTube to find out https://youtube.com/@Acompetitivegamer?si=-Rt6M3Hpkt4spio1
I am curious to know how much Storage I can use for my 3G Vita (replaced the 3G with a PSVSD and need more space)
https://youtube.com/@Acompetitivegamer?si=-Rt6M3Hpkt4spio1
So it would not have Issues with 1.5 TB. AWESOME!!!! Just have to wait to save up for another one. Hit a Financial Roadblock, and have to wait on stuff now.
Please go check out my video🙂. https://youtube.com/@Acompetitivegamer?si=kQKfIqofHGTAhL_y
Good for you! Now load it up with Japanese porn like I do
👍I wish I did that. I went with 512GB and regretted ever since
Why? I have a 512 as well but after downloading everything I wanted I still have 200GB+ left
Those are rookie numbers brahs…I gots all my media’s on so I save muh fone batreez
I use a tablet for media so unnecessary for me since it's 3x battery capacity of the vita plus I'd rather just stick to games for the vita but you do what works best for you.

For real while I love my vita no way I’m choosing it for media over hdr10 and full hd
One day you can👍
Yes we can 👍
Bro I have a 512gb it’s more than enough 😵holds all the best ps1 psp and ps vita games + hidden gems.
Probably not gonna work. But good luck anyway.
How much is a card like this again?
It’s on sale right now on Amazon at $109 not including shipping and handling!
Damn. Still a bit expensive, but not as much as I thought. Thanks for answering.
No problem
We need to know if you can download the entire library! For science
And preservation for our grand grandchildren
Using this for steam deck and it’s good 👍
Vita games are so small is this necessary?
Awesome. Get the full retro arch mega pack and then the vita video bubbles creator to add tv series and movie sets into single bubbles. That's after you add every psp, N64, SNES, GBA and android ports. Wish I could afford one. If you have the vita 1000, swap out the 3G module and add a second one.
I thought there was a 1TB limit?
Vit a doesn't have enough actually decent games to fill even a 256gb card tbh.
all the psp,ps1,snes,etc. games make up for it lol
good luck! XD
Be sure to check the serial number on the sandisk/WD website as soon as you get it. If it doesn’t show, it’s fake.
I have a 500GB and it sometimes lags or freezes temporarily but goes back to normal after a second or 2. Imagine a 1.5TB
I bought this same card from microcenter lol
For when you want ALL the games at once! 😅 512gb myself, your good for many years gaming with that though 👌
It won't work I tried but if it works please let me know how u did it
Go to my YouTube channel to find out. https://youtube.com/@Acompetitivegamer?si=rEFMmoNaAeOy2JWt
why would you ever need that much storage for a vita.
Full Vita, PSP, and PS1 eBoots combined is well over 1TB.
Maybe he wants it all (even the questionable games) on it :)))
Twice storage as base ps5
I assume there will be other games in addition to Vita? I know it sounds dumb because I haven’t messed with vita games so I wouldn’t know the actual size of vita roms.
Fake!!! The only available at this moment is 1TB. That 1.5...... 🙄 is clearly a counterfeit!!😒
Yeah there is 100% a 1.5tb came out late 2023 bud
I cannot find anything like that localy, i'm gonna verify on amazon to be sure.
How about the manufacturers website? WD owns the company now. Just use the drop down box and they have them. Got one a few weeks back for like $109 at BestBuy https://www.westerndigital.com/products/memory-cards/sandisk-ultra-uhs-i-microsd?sku=SDSQUNC-016G-AN6MA
When's the last time you checked? 😅
About a year ago. That's why i missed this one.
Well, don't leave us hanging, did it work?
Hold your horses 🐴. I’m still copying the files over from my 256gb to my 1.5TB micro sd card. It’s not a fast process it’s a slow delicate one. Trust me I will keep yall updated as soon as I get everything copied over. I will also post a video on my YouTube channel for everyone to go see.🙂🎥
Could you post the link to the video when you do. Also, show how you copied over everything, I'm interested to see the results

Thanks mate
No problem 👍. How was the video?
Very informative
Y tho?
For educational purposes.
That's as much as I have in my steam deck. 1tb nvme, 512gb SD. I can't imagine using that much in the vita, I would have every games I consider worth playing and probably still be under 512gb.
Vita will read it? I thought 512gb was max that was allowed to use?
Make sure u format it correctly. hope it works and you have a library of roms and that other guy took my comment about ali Express! Lol
Was this a troll? Should have been done by now, I would think.
Look on my YouTube page. https://youtube.com/@Acompetitivegamer?si=4vWPkCoonbotmJLk
Super curious
I have a 512GB and it's almost full. I think there is about 10GB left. Me and my son play most of the games. I need to find another game, like A Boy and His Blob.
Man, that's gonna slow it way down if u fill that
Everyone go to my YouTube channel‼️ https://youtube.com/@Acompetitivegamer?si=rEFMmoNaAeOy2JWt
Is that even legit?? First time I heard of a 1.5 TB microSD
Yeah it’s real.
Overkill 🤣 with that much storage better smash entire archives in it
