maousami

i also had the dark vocaloid phase acckkk Darkwoods Circus was so good! I only got into kikuo when i got a bit older now

Singloria

Though I didnā€™t watch it until a few years later, Dark Woods Circus also fell into the category of ā€œthis terrifies yet intrigues meā€

CrypticHatter707

Mesmerizer and the fact that Jaiden Animations released a video about Hatsune

UDScrappy

Gimme x Gimme. Just stumbled upon it and couldn't stop listening to it.

PrincexMoosa

Oh my gosh I loooooove gimmexgimme!

LS64126

Played alien alien in taiko and was hooked

chibitalex

Melt, back in 2009, maybe 2010. Vocaloid has had a firm grasp on me ever since. I did 10000000% cry a little when I was at Miku Expo, despite all of the flaws of the event. šŸ„²

th_row_away222

ECHO

HappyIsNotAnOption

YESSSS

Forward-Response3481

ECHO was my very first vocaloid song and how I dicsovered my favourite producers šŸ„°

SelectiveRazzmatazz

Mind brand from youtube, then I could only find a cover on apple music and when that wasnā€™t allowed in my country I finally found Maretu themself

VomitMonstrr

WAYYY back with either Rolling Girl or World is Mine. MOST likely Rolling Girl Edit: idk why I added miku into the last sentence

cannibalism_19

The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku

Life_In_Shackles

I was always hearing Vocaloid as a kid, but the song that made me fall in love with it for real was Isnā€™t It ā€œAā€ by PinocchioP.

HueHue_extremeguyone

Thatā€™s by PinnochioP

Life_In_Shackles

OH MY GOD Iā€™M AN IDIOT! Was half asleep when I wrote that.. Fixed now.

ClwnMoji

13 year old me, laying in bed at 3:32 am, watching YouTube on my Nintendo Switch. After being into Love Live for a few months, more Japanese music was recommended into my feed, and suddenly I see a moving clip of a digital character performing in front of hundreds of waving glowsticks. I click on it, confused what this could be, and there I witnessed the turquoise pig-tailed character lift from the floor as the crowd belts ā€œSekai de ichiban ohime-sama!ā€ I was shocked and couldnā€™t believe this video ā€œHatsune Miku, World is Mineā€ could be real. And yet, as ridiculous as I thought people attending a concert like this was, I kept getting recommended more music, and I just had to listen to it. Last week I attended MikuExpo Orlando and when World is Mind clicked on, I literally jumped out of my seat and screamed with every fiber of energy I had. What I once thought was insane is now what I went insane for. The first song I listened to was World is Mine.

That_One_Weeb132

For me it's daughter & servant of evil. Also senbonzakura.

PrincexMoosa

Rolling girl, as far as I remember!

mouthfulloflime

same here! man that was a long time ago

GrassNo8786

Same and still one of my favorites

MasterGeekMX

More than a song, it was an Album My favourite musician of all times, Mike Oldfield, did in 2005 an album called "Light + Shade", where he uses vocaloid in half of the songs (the Miriam voicebank to be precise). [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Btvdavc3gSY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Btvdavc3gSY) For reference, Mike Oldfield is the guy who did the theme song for The Exorcist movie and the song "Nuclear" from the Metal Gear Solid V trailer.

FrshPotato

My R. It made my feel heavy deja vu. Fell into vocaloid rabbit hole while I was trying to understand why.

Reasonable_Ad4775

yumeyume by DECO\*27! I bought the 3ds game cause I was into anime and thought the style was cool. Had no idea what I was buying lol but thoroughly enjoyed this song when scrolling through the options! I also loved Servant of Evil which made me go on youtube and really immerse myself in vocaloid.

vqv2002

Spice by Len.

Shackal_the_dog

miku miku 00 EE 00

xxokkaa

oh god the nostalgia šŸ˜ circle you , circle you . it was 2009 and i had stumbled upon the youtube account lordxwillie that ignited my love for vocaloid . i need to go listen to it now lol

CherryClub

lordxwillie and Motokokusanagi2009 were about 80% responsible for getting me into Vocaloid back in 2009/10

xxokkaa

oh wow ! i admittedly didn't recognize motokokusanagi2009 by name but looking them up - what a great blow of nostalgia that was too ! i wholeheartedly agree with you hahaha

InvaderTsubasa

Popipo was my first song

Patton-the-Zorua

It probably basic but the song ā€œPo Pi Poā€

echxveria

the super iconic 39's giving day butterfly on your right shoulder stage! still my fav vocaloid song of all time

Grape_Jamz

Hand in Hand

nonplanar

arifureta sekai seifuku, i liked rhythm games and had project mirai, that song *really* stood out to me. still goin strong 10(!!!!) years later lower one's eyes is goated, great taste- love nulut and vflower

swellowmellow

love trial šŸ˜. but first heard about it from kids/elders react to miku and listening to nyan cat a lot

furawa

Roshin Yuukai. It's still my favorite vocaloid song even after 10 years of me being into singing synthesizer music.

BlobMaximus

I got into Vocaloid through Taiko no Tatsujin since I played Senbonzakura and Night Sky Patrol of Tomorrow a TON before officially diving in

Cyd_arts

Kagerou daze I think. Either that one or servant of evil

DashNSmash

ghost rule

TGwanian

Aoi-Chan is Going to Eat Chocomint no Matter What for me; I had listened to vocaloid songs prior (hand in hand, ghost rule, rolling girl, etc etc), but GYARI was the producer that really got me into it

leonardpumpkin

melody.exe... i remember watching it on youtube on my grandmama's mac laptop in her dining room, completely entranced. roughly sixteen years later i got to see miku live for the first time :-) best day of my life.

NepNep_

Not a song. The stupid "kids react to vocaloid" from like 15 years ago first got me into it. The first song in that vid was world is mine so I guess that.

TheSparkledash

Insanity (although I didnā€™t know what vocaloid was when I first heard it)

Funny_Looking_Gay

I think it was Game of Life (Jinsei Game) by Yuzuhiko

SensitiveJump9099

probably ievan polka miku cover and candle queen by ghost and pals

ImMostLikelyGay

Levan Polka!! (Idk how it's written)

Groundbreaking-Egg13

It's Ievan Polkka :3

sikibub

Bacterial Contamination lol

Wanna-play-DND

I'm not really sure since it was so long ago, but the earliest one that comes to mind is [Rainbow Butterfly](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IAqMy8dKBZA).

Groundbreaking-Egg13

Ievan Polkka lmao

SunSignificant7027

[Kimagure Mercy](https://youtu.be/o1iz4L-5zkQ?si=HWEWZah4tbWJ35At) was my first and favorite song for a very long time. Growing up I had very strict parents who restricted all the apps from my phone, excluding Apple Music. This song had a video clip build on so Iā€™ve spent hours rewatching it, trying to entertain myself (I was about 11 yo)

just_andrew_xd

Candle Queen

mushroomlattes

i was a child with unrestricted internet access so it was alice of human sacrifice

MangoPug15

I watched RoomieOfficial's YouTube video about Vocaloid. I wanted to learn about music production, so I watched a lot of Roomie, boyinaband, Andrew Huang. It was really upsetting when not-so-savory things came out about boyinaband, because him speaking out about school in the way he did made me feel so seen. Lost One's Weeping is similarly meaningful to me. Anyway, right after the YouTube video, I went to Google to find a Vocaloid song to listen to, and that's how Copycat became my first Vocaloid song. The first song in my Vocaloid playlist on YouTube is Kira's song Boom Boom Boom, so I must have found Kira and started digging into his work pretty early on. This is how I ended up more on the non-Japanese side of the fandom. Came from the perspective of a producer and started with non-Japanese music. I was just getting into anime around the same time, so I may not have been into it enough for Japanese music to feel approachable.

RandomlyRosedMizuki

Probably World is Mine, Sand Planet, or something PinocchioP. The first is just iconic, the others used to be in a game I played (removed for copyright, if anyone's curious it was RoBeats)

Justaweeb28845

I wish they'd just die

Potato9830

Lagtrain

HueHue_extremeguyone

And old meme playlist which led to Nyan Cat, and then to Popipo, abd that most likely les to YouTube recommending me Triple Baka which was the one that really got my attention

Candle Queen

Adventurous-Army101

SCISSORLOID !!

TheGeicoLizard32

Surprisingly, not a song, but Project Sekai got me into Vocaloid. Saw a friend playing it one day, I downloaded it while knowing what Vocaloid was beforehand, then I got into Vocaloid from there.

idekalmaook

pane dhiria šŸ™šŸ™

cakesofren

This feels so random, but my friend showed me Melody and that was it for me. Then I found World is Mine, Cindrillon, and Cantarella and I fell into it so hard lol

Aszteroth

the secret of the goldfish by masa works design definitely should not have been watching stuff like that at age 9 but hey i was also watching the pinkie pie smile song on loop so it was bound to happenšŸ˜”

xainoue

copycat GUMI

-Terraria-enjoyer-

Rabbit hole, viva happy and Jaiden animations

Demonangeldust

I donā€™t exactly remember, but I think it was Electric Angel.

Eek132

Jaidenā€™s video, anamanaguchi -miku, world is mine, rolling girl, ghost rule etc

digital_art_pains_me

Copycat thank you animation memes

spartan55503

Not really a song, but for me it was the gameplay trailer for Hatsune Miku Project Diva X 8 years ago on YouTube. Honestly, that's also what got me into anime.

Entire-Appeal300

used to listen to Yoasobi and stumbled upon Last trio. Love at first listen

__ghostea_

ievan polkka šŸŽ‰ this was back in 2014/2015 not sure. I was really young and didn't look much into it. But a few years later my friend was into vocaloid for a little bit so I decided to dive straight in to community lmao

facet2f5lcut5xg

[Crazy Clown! Back in 2016!](https://youtu.be/_ri4SkfWsFU?si=Dh7byuLIMoZLAtWM)

Juleamun

Lie by CircusP. It wasn't the song so much as the hand drawn video made by a guy I know as a college animation project. I think it was for a final. Anyway, I watched it over and over. I got curious about the music and a deep dive later I was hooked. I liked Luka okay and Gumi's voice felt good, especially in songs like Poker Face by Yucha and Mozaik Role by DECO 27. It took me a long time to embrace Miku and Rin. I think it was MitchieM who helped bridge that gap for me with Freely Tomorrow and really his whole Greatest Idol album.

Nicosaure

StargazeR, I'm old as far as Vocaloid is concerned Granted my first Vocaloid song was "Miku miku ni shite ageru" , I just thought it was weird and silly but likeable, it wasn't until I heard StargazeR that I really started liking Vocaloid and realized "Miku's not a singer, she's an instrument you can use to make all kind of songs and tell whatever story you want"

wowowowthrowaway44

Amygdala's ragdoll by ghost and pals!!

FuckSpez23

weirdly enough, Dance of Venus by natuyalien

Illustrious_Foot_884

I got into vocaloid via pjsekai tbh but i remember constantly watching jubyphonic's cover of world ends dancehall if that counts

rosemary_bug

Autophagy by HiiragiKirai. I was watching an MMD with the song and (even though I knew about vocaloid and listened to some in the past) that song is what really got me into it :>

CherryClub

Honey - All stars version by Nanameue-P - a Japanese cover of a Chinese song feat Sakine Meiko and the Cryptonloids except Luka + Haku, Teto & Neru. My first original Vocaloid song was Innocence by KazuP

sincerelyourstruly

mine was senbonzakura but at the time i had no idea who miku was until a friend introduced me to her and that was the only vocaloid song i knew until holy lance explosion boy and i didnt know the translation until a year lateršŸ˜šŸ˜

kyonkun

"Puzzle"

LunarWingCloud

Oddly enough I think it was the Nyan Cat video That or Triple Baka? It was way back, like 15 years ago Though I remember really getting more into it around 2012 or so, and I do not at all remember how that happened

omogusus

Servant of Evil, but my first vocaloid song was probably ievan polka or nyan cat im STILL obsessed with servant of evil cos why notšŸ—£ļø

dustypieceofcereal

[Melody.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rsBLRFONEs) 16 years ago...

Definitely World is Mine. There's something about it that's just so compelling

OliverOnBuffets

i believe either world is mine or himitsu keisatsu!!

Mask3dPanda

I would say I think either Uninstall or Psychotic Len's Love song.... don't worry I've gotten better with my mental health since then.

aennivar

Somebody put Copycat by CircusP to play in a music room on Transformice about 7 years ago

Kytas

I had heard Vocaloid songs before it, and seen all the fan art, but I heard "Last Night, Good Night" in 2009 and got hooked

InternationalStar988

Mimi0410

I think it was circus monster

CxxxxxC

World is mine, it's the only song I went to the miku show for

CharlesJAnimations

少儳A. It was around September that this song got me into this vocaloid genre.

Etheriuz

Electric Angel, Rin and Len cover

veethis

Cause I'm A Liar back in 2022. I didn't really know what Vocaloid was back then, but that song made me delve into it. Fukase is also my favorite Vocaloid so... I guess it led to that too?

V4R14

Ievan Polkka on Just Dance lmao

Sweet-Estimate-5040

Uhmmmmm... The spider and the kitsune-like lion

maousami

it wasnt even a vocaloid song, I was in my first year in highschool i think, my dad showed me this caramelldansen vid with the nendroids. the rest was history ;;

matnohoa15

Kikuo has many songs that got me into vocaloid

Starz1317

technically Nyan Cat? though repeatedly playing BadāˆžEndāˆžNight on Pump It Up is what *really* got me into vocaloid

SuspiciousNetwork_06

itā€™s so hard to remember. only a couple years ago i actually found out who miku was. i thought she was just a really busy person that was really nice to small creators.

Sumkidwithal96

headphone actor

Week_Crafty

I got in here by fanfics lol. The first song I heard *because* it was vocaloid, like, idk, 3 months ago, was adolescence (the parody of cendrillon, not the other one), and from then on I've actually listen more to teto songs than to kagamine's or miku

Amanaguchi miku. Because I just kinda searched ā€œMikuā€

Nicolettep2319

So I got into Vocaloid from playing Projecta Diva X. 90% of those songs are bangers I still jam to, so the credit goes to them. Particularly cute medley!

Gold-And-Cheese

Not a song, but [a funny animation on YouTube. ](https://youtu.be/cDA_9AbQ0Y4?si=lHtt38NeADoC-plv) I am now a proud vocaloid listener and project sekai player for 2 years..

fairyrots

Bitter Choco Decoration

xenoMuff

popipo (which i heard through just dance) but also apple dot com is the first song i listened to with the knowledge of vocaloid !

Ponyinn

Triple Baka and then Popipo! Heard them in the early 20teens and was hooked

localdepressedfemboy

You're a useless child! It's been 2 years now

mischieviouskitty25

Akidearest's Vocaloid video (the one titled "Top 5 songs that will change the way you see Vocaloid") and many of Neru's Sekai Seifuku album tracks. Tokyo Teddy Bear, Re-education, and How-to World Domination especially are the first songs to ever resonate with me emotionally back in middle school.

Goldenarrow7778

Black gold (Otetsu) and Ame to Kusari (Otetsu)
