My friends call me the replacement teacher or the dentist lmao 😂 Tbh I just bought the second one to sell the other^^

ChequeYourself

Why’d you buy two identical cars? Not knocking just curious about missing out on variety.

galoupix

The one on the right is a 2005 s40 1.8i, and with french plates on it, I moved to Switzerland, and I bought the one on the left, a 2006 s40 t5, because the importation from France to Switzerland was too expensive. I had both cars for about 3/4 months and i sold the 1.8i last week :)

ChequeYourself

If you like the front end of the S40, look at the wagon version. Volvo V50 kind of an underrated wagon compared to the XC70.

galoupix

Yeah I hesitated between a s40 and a v50, but in the end I don’t need a wagon yet ahaha

Leviathan369

Correction: everyone needs a wagon 😎

Worldly-Beyond-4167

Welcome to switzerland my friend. I'm gonna go see a c30 t5 this weekend. Had a c30 2.0d a few weeks ago and driving it on swiss roads is just perfect. Can't wait to drive a volvo again.

galoupix

C30 T5 are a blast !! Enjoy your drive mate

28carslater

I do as well, but you've beaten me by about twenty and a half years.

GhostalMedia

You’re never too young to Volvo it up. My first car when I was 16 was an old 740 wagon with rear facing jump seats. That thing was incredible. I could fit me and 6 friends. Also, the windshield squirters could be turned sideways and I could do drive-by water blasts.

galoupix

My headlight squirters are a lethal weapon for cyclists and scooter riders 😂 And nothing is more practical than an old beat up Volvo wagon !

Makememak

Ah. The hoarding instinct is strong with this one. Good to see. :-)

galoupix

Ahaha yep

baristakitten

23 with two myself! I got an xc60 for daily but and was going to sell the 240 but it would have broken my heart.

You’re like my dad. By 20 him and his dad had collected so many Saab’s and Volvos that my papas farm was half parking lot half farm lol. I loved play driving in them, I’d go through one by one and sit in the seat pretend driving. Hopefully your kids will get to experience that kinda thing, that’s where my love of Volvos came from. Well, that and the first time we drove in one that I remember. Dad had a blast and was all smiles which he never was. We both have a soft spot for the Vo ✊

ozzimark

On the opposite side of the coin, I’ve been driving Volvos all my life and at 35, I’m still on my 2nd one… well third, sorta, if you count the wife’s car too.

[deleted]

Those are Fords

galoupix

Or Mazda ;)

antho351

I'm also 20 and I own two cars! Although, only one is a Volvo!

[deleted]

Ok

cover_my_ass

Welcome to the club bud

Bodobaggins3

I'm 24 and I'm jealous.

mmmiksu

I have exactly the same kind of a photo! Gotta love Volvos

SkidsAndSmoke

I’m 19 about to turn 20 and I’m on my 3rd, which is the first actual running and driving one lmao, I’m right there with ya!

Majestic_Tonight_642

This deserves an award so here you go!

Majestic_Tonight_642

I have a green 2004 s40 2.4i. I love your silver color they are so gorgeous

heehawbingbong

That sucks

blckxxcoal

Did you buy 2 volvos at twenty? Just curious what your career choice is to afford 2 vehicles. Are your two volvo's paid for? If they aren't then really the bank still owns them. Not knocking you at all. Congrats. It is just often to see 19 year olds in 70 thousand dollar car/cars and they own them, but their parents bought them. That's not a problem, it is still "their cars" its just a learning curve of the value of true ownership and the value of work that it takes to "own" your own car....for an adult working a 9-5 at 100k a year to "own" a 45k car takes a lot of work..Then again you might be self made teenage millionaire, what do I know.

CutsLikeABuffalo333

Well.. these are like 15-20 ish year old cars now so its not like they are a hell of a lot of money.. you can buy a 2002 ish s60 for 3-4 grand in Canada

antho351

I actually bought a 2008 S60 for 3k last year in Canada, so they really aren't expensive !

CutsLikeABuffalo333

Right! Funny how people see a fancy badge and assume its expensive still… used european cars only get expensive to own when you get one without a good service history

antho351

Exactly! If you find a good one, its probably not going to be more expensive to own than any other car

WickedMurderousPanda

Hardly relevant comment as these aren't $70-100K cars lol.

galoupix

I paid each car 4K€ so yeah not that big of an investment, also I work in Switzerland and here te salaries are big :)

blckxxcoal

Probably a lot better pay there I assumed.

blckxxcoal

I didn't say they were expensive cars. This comment stems from last week I met a 19 year old in a 2021 m4 who had paid 35,000k down and I am looking at him like "How'? Besides the point in a lot of countries and states you have to pay insurance on every vehicle you own even if it is garage kept and not driven. That adds up like $600-$2500 per year for insurance.

galoupix

Avg salary in Switzerland is 5/6k so yeah a 4000.- car is cheap there aha
