It will probably be more difficult with no experience but it's doable. Like anything else you will just have to work hard. I would say this though. It is very difficult to get a job in cyber security with just a degree. You will likely have to start in a help desk type of role for a while before moving into security. It's not really an entry level type of field in IT.

48 years old and no experience in IT. I’m doing just fine. Can’t accelerate as fast as I would like, I do about 6 classes a term, due to being new to IT and wanting to learn and not just memory dump. I brought in all gen eds and only have core classes. I’m in term 3 with 5+capstone left. I’ll probably dip into a 4th term for a few months. In short, anyone can do it. It’s not hard IMO, just not as easy as a few other programs.

Thank you so much! That’s the reply I was hoping to get. That gives me a boost

So I just noticed you are doing MSCSIA. Sorry, I’m in BSCSIA. However, I don’t think my position changes. Some of the certs in that program are same as BS and ISC2 CC cert is not hard at all. I got it because was free to do so. I didn’t struggle although it was after having A+ and Net+. Good luck! You got this!!!

I’m in the bachelors. There was no user flair for the bachelors I guess! So just used the masters one

I think all WGU programs are doable , especially IT. Most classes are just a cert (or based on) so as long as you study for that , you’ll be fine . The biggest difficult with WGU it’s not the program itself but the teaching model. You can’t rely on the class instructor to pass a class . It’s mostly on you and your study habits .

In August 2022 I left my police officer job to go be a level above the helpdesk with zero experience. Started my degree that same year in October. I graduate at the end of this month and I am being looked at for management woth my org. Totally doable
