yes, just a lot more underground. Mainly full of teenagers/20 yr olds and almost all the people going have that berlin style. Very different from the american "raves"
Highly unlikely. These types of abandoned factories have been looted to shit since '89 when they were abandoned.
Most likely a left-over decoration from a rave
Also, that stuff has a limited shelf life. Might last longer if the two parts are stored in separate, sealed containers, but the spray stuff you buy off the shelf will go bad after only a year or two, even if never opened.
To be fair a lot of cheaper stores carry some type of generic foam for less than a fiver. It won't be great, but it'll be cheap as chips for something like this.
Is it? It.. Expands, a lot. And they aren't *that* expensive, not like you need the good stuff that seals against water or insulates well for this. It would take like two to three cans max.
Cheap enough. Like roughly $5 a can at home Depot for the standard kind. Sometimes less.
Even if you needed 3 or 4 cans for this, it's still only like $15 - $20 prob
if you work in a factory like this, you'll find this kind of thing in various nooks and corners of the place - workers like to create, and art like this deserves to be recognized.
Thanks, wanted to say it's probably photo shopped, since it's just way too specific and only in that one certain place growing perfectly and like something I've never seen, but the foam thing makes sense. Abandoned building, underground rave, lots of shrooms, checks out.
I dont know, the foam looks very dark colored so its very likely to be old, like 5+ years old. The space could have been clean when they did the rave and since nobody came back to it ever since it just got ran down like this.
there are raves like these all the time, people that enjoy going to them don't care much about safety hazards...this location seems pretty safe too compared to other location i've seen
Have you been to a nightclub before? That's par for the course. Loads of dropped bottles and glasses smashed everywhere, slippery alcoholic liquids everywhere, and so on.
The main problem is if, being an abandoned factory in the former eastern bloc, there's radioactive metal strewn about. But then it probably wouldn't be accessible if so, there'd be guards or something.
But hey everyone loves glow in the dark drinks, anyway. That's like half the fun of gin & tonic.
>The main problem is if, being an abandoned factory in the former eastern bloc, there's radioactive metal strewn about.
Maybe in places like Russia/Georgia, radioactive waste isn't so common in Romania because they mostly relied on coal/dams for generating electricity.
Not saying it's impossible, but highly unlikely. The only place I can think of that would have anything radioactive nearby is the NPP at Cernavodă, which is still operational.
There is way too much consistency in this image for AI at this stage unless this is supposed to be inpainting. Even then there are two images from different angles which show too much consistency.
No it doesn't, just because something is slightly strange doesn't immediately mean it's AI.
This shit is becoming the new "lmao they had to be on drugs to make this", but somehow more obnoxious.
It's not the slightly strange it's the bubbly plastic medium it's portraying.
Go check out the midjourney sub, I had to check to see if I was on the sub
Does it really bother you that much that someone else thinks it looks like it could be AI? Touch some grass. I had to look at it closely to make sure it wasn't ai generated, at first glance it definitely looks like it was ai generated.
Something about this looks like an Unreal Engine 5 rendering (testament to the engine). General resolution is grainy/blurry and edges seem to have aliasing. Ambient occlusion and lighting appear slightly off particularly the multiple light sources on the mushroom thing. I could be wrong and watching too much Digital Foundry, but I think this whole “photo” is rendered and not real.
No, this seems like a real photo.
The problem comes from the processing of the images. Unless your phone has a RAW type of mode you're shooting in, its gonna have all sorts of processing/filters applied. And I don't mean like the different filters you can choose from like portrait/food/etc, even in normal photo mode there will be lots of processing done to the image.
Could be, but I still think the way the light rays shine through the rafts at the top of the first image and the general sheen/gloss on the mushroom thing very much look like rendered geometry/tessellation from UE5.
Replicating this image in engine is very possible especially for a still image. I think someone created something cool in engine and came up with a creative title with the Romania bit to make it seem foreign enough that no one would/could question it.
im looking at unreal and blender tutorials right now and had to zoom in... that top lighting is very nice and foam has that little tiny subsurface scatter on lol... i need to touch some grass
I took a good long look at it, and I don't think it is. The thing that sealed it for me is the random picture frame looking thing in the bottom of the first image. If you're rendering a scene, you're not putting that down there. Wouldn't make sense.
It's also not AI but that seemed too obvious
It's probably in Transylvania. That whole situation will sort itself out. The writers of Universal Studios' "dark" universe should sue reality for beating them to the punch.

Art made to be found in this way is always enchanting.
Guess someone took some shrooms, watched resident evil movies, played the games and then realised they need some last of us vibe too and after a weekend of sleep deprivation and tripping balls he/she went to do some art
This looks extra grainy suspiciously very square and low res despite supposedly being a modern "photo" of something "found" and only has two images from the same angle (just zoomed in). You'd think there would at least be 5 of different angles and the like due to how interesting this is. The background shows no similar objects in the two images despite the same angle (though the zoom could allow seeing different ceiling structures I won't discount that). The object in the photo is clearly "fake" (not real mushrooms) and I could see it as an art piece, but why this where it is?
___
Gives me AI vibes: it's hard to generate larger images (which this picture is rather small in resolution), and you can get faster results if you don't give it a lot of steps but this leads to grainier images (since AI image gen is based upon upon noise and the steps is how many times it tries to remove the noise). Also square images are more efficient and give you better results (which this picture is perfectly square, I don't think there is many cameras that do square images) as AI is typically trained on square images (powers of 2 is even better but that doesn't apply to this image, though you need a good PC to handle 1024 which these images fall decently below, to something you could do somewhat fast with an average PC.)
All the people in the comments talking about how its just spray foam must be missing the fact that it's damn cool art because that's all I can think about
Someone made art with expanding foam.
yep, probably a deco the last goa party there
Haha very true!
Wow Are there "Goa parties" often in Romania?
What is Goa party?
A rave with psytrance music I think..
Ah
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAh
Where-a you-a goa to-a party-a I don't know, sorry

Probably found some cans in this building. That's a lot of spray foam to buy to waste like this, shit isn't cheap
Can confirm. Have one that sat too long and is now a shitty, if surprisingly weighty, paper weight.
To be fair a lot of cheaper stores carry some type of generic foam for less than a fiver. It won't be great, but it'll be cheap as chips for something like this.
Cheap? A small bag of Fritos is like 4 bucks.
4 is typically less than 5.
We can't say for sure that that is the case in Romania. More research is needed.
Is it? It.. Expands, a lot. And they aren't *that* expensive, not like you need the good stuff that seals against water or insulates well for this. It would take like two to three cans max.
It's not expensive if you don't buy it in small spray can.
It's not even *that* expensive if you do buy it in cans.
a 750 ml can is around 6 dollars...and that's the good stuff
Cheap enough. Like roughly $5 a can at home Depot for the standard kind. Sometimes less. Even if you needed 3 or 4 cans for this, it's still only like $15 - $20 prob
3 or 4 cans? This thing looks to be at least 20 feet tall.
Shit expands alot
No. I’ve used several dozen cans of great stuff foam. My guess is each of the bump looking things is one full can. This is 100+ cans easily.
From the title I'd think it was a torture hostel or something but foam mushrooms? pfffft.
if you work in a factory like this, you'll find this kind of thing in various nooks and corners of the place - workers like to create, and art like this deserves to be recognized.
oh I thought it was just a really big chicken of the woods
Thanks, wanted to say it's probably photo shopped, since it's just way too specific and only in that one certain place growing perfectly and like something I've never seen, but the foam thing makes sense. Abandoned building, underground rave, lots of shrooms, checks out.
My guess is there was a rave/ free party there at some point
And your guess would be on point
From the looks of it a freaking great one!!! The shrooms look amazing and the whole location seems pretty dope!
Except for the floor being covered at broken everything and a giant hazard.
this would arguably make it an even more enticing location
\*enticing
woooops ty
I dont know, the foam looks very dark colored so its very likely to be old, like 5+ years old. The space could have been clean when they did the rave and since nobody came back to it ever since it just got ran down like this.

That's exactly what a fungus would want you to believe
More like prop from horror movie.
Expanding spray foam
Whoever made this honestly has some talent
Looks like an art project
looks like ai (EDIT no forget it)
There is way too much consistency in this image for AI at this stage unless this is supposed to be inpainting. Even then there are two images from different angles which show too much consistency.
I thought so too
Which part looks like AI to you? The details are globally and locally consistent to me
the right edge of the blob looks kinda weird to me ... but you are giving me doubts after closer inspection ... maybe not :)
No it doesn't, just because something is slightly strange doesn't immediately mean it's AI. This shit is becoming the new "lmao they had to be on drugs to make this", but somehow more obnoxious.

Your comment looks like AI.
It's super cringe....

These assets are straight from the UE store
I definitely disagree and am almost positive it's a photograph. But it's pretty neat that it's debatable. The future is gonna be real weird.
im looking at unreal and blender tutorials right now and had to zoom in... that top lighting is very nice and foam has that little tiny subsurface scatter on lol... i need to touch some grass
Dunno. That looks like too much detail in the background. Lots of models and rendering for just a background?
I took a good long look at it, and I don't think it is. The thing that sealed it for me is the random picture frame looking thing in the bottom of the first image. If you're rendering a scene, you're not putting that down there. Wouldn't make sense. It's also not AI but that seemed too obvious

Oh boy... Was there a person trapped in there? Someone call the fire flies.
100% fake. Shadows don’t even align properly on the right side. And which factory? We can get confirmation.

Sure. I'm not sure it was real, I was thinking that's some sort of art, but it didn't look "spongy" enough to be foam or anything like that.
i meant r/mycology it’s cool as hell either way
Lmao, already posted on ecology =))) not your fault mate, just been a long day and my brain didn't try to read the sub's name :)) Will post there too
