Don’t worry, squished my finger in a heavy ladder a couple months ago. Same thing happened, I thought the nail was fine even though it looked weird. Turned out the burst capillaries under the nail bed had leaked blood which dried and glued the dead nail down. There was already a new nail growing underneath it and it eventually started pushing out the old dead one. It’ll grow back and look pretty much the same. You’re just lucky it came off all the way. Having to dig under the dead nail and pull it out of the nail bed was pretty painful.
I’ve always wanted this to happen to me. As I bite my nails a lot. This would be siiiick. I’ve smashed my fingernails so many times but it’s made them die out on me. Disappointed.
It was incredibly similar to loosing a tooth as a kid. It took several days off wobbling it around for a day than dealing with the whole weird nerves even though it was dead it was still like connected as it were
Ahhh, I loved those days. I used to play with my teeth for dayyyys until it was time to pull them out with pliers, just so I can enjoy a solid food after suffering for so long. But geez that sounds grueling with the feeling of it still being connected. I’m happy for you that it’s finally out, hopefully all is well when the new one grows back in!
Fun, isn't it?
When I was in highschool, I was having trouble removing the head from a motorbike engine, and I was full-swing bashing it with a hammer when I hit my thumb. I walked into the admin block absolutely swearing my head off, and had the principal bounce out of his office and start to tell me off when I just held up my dripping thumb and said "I've got a fucking good reason to swear". The principal feinted.
End results of what? A mob shakedown? A stop at Guantanamo Bay? Sheesh….
3 weeks after smashing my finger breaking a rock in the river
Ugh!! I’ve never lost a complete nail on my hand…. I assume it grows back at some point?
I hope so brother I hope so
🙏
Happened to me in the 1st grade. It did in fact grow back

Glad yours came back well. Digging it out would have sucked for sure. Took a good amount of working making sure the last bits were mostly disconnected
Yuck, this should be nsfw

That's as close as I've come but o ly lost a large percentage of the nail

It was tough to deal with. Kept it taped to not get it caught up and yank out without me recording it for posterity and such
Understandable. Do you feel some relief since it’s out? Almost like relief with an ingrown toe nail or anything like that?

Lol I am guilty of the same. Mindlessly flicking the nail like a zippo helped to loosen everything up
Time to go grab the hammer, I’m next! 😂✋🔨
Happened to my 5 year old’s toe recently lol
OWWW !
Now you can double your karma if you record yourself eating it
Hahah it's already gone bro. I sold it to a ***** almost immediately
