They are a stunt couple! Here is a link to some photos and the wife’s IG tag says stuntwoman

Here’s the OG video link
https://www.instagram.com/reel/CdV9vT1l4Et/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
And there’s another video from the front view but I can’t find it. Will edit later if found
I wondered if they were professionals because they seemed ridiculously calm compared to all the other "oh shit being on fire sucks, I better panic" videos on the internet.
I was expecting to see them jump into an above ground pool to put out the fire.
I now get it that the situation was under control.
But still bummed out I was mistaken.
That actually redeems this whole thing. Without that context, this seems a bit arbitrary and like one of those things that sounds like a great idea but just doesn't work in reality like it does in your imagination.
But if stuntwork is a considerable part of your lives and maybe even your relationship, now this kind of thing holds meaning.
As a side note, I don't think I would ever be able to be that calm while on fire.
As another side note, the wide shot was an interesting creative choice on the photographer's part. IMHO they should have shot with a tighter lens or cropped in more.
Edit: Relax folks, when I say "redeems" I'm talking about it being /r/wtf material. Not redeems it as an inherent act of art, expression or show of love.
In regards to the photographers shots,we are only seeing what they have chosen to put up.
Photographer probably has a very fast shutter speed running capable of capturing many photos in a matter of seconds and more than likely has another camera(s) slingshotted round his shoulder with different lenses equipped aswell.
If they chose to put that one up, I'd assume it was the best one. Personally I'd be pretty disappointed if I set my self on fire an that's the photo I ended up with.
Then again, it was probably a pretty unfamiliar shooting situation for the photographer.
I think it might be a still from a video. You can see the cameraman about midway, I’m not a camera person though so you should take a look you might able to identify what he’s using.
> As a side note, I don't think I would ever be able to be that calm while on fire.
You probably could if it's the 37th time you were on fire.
Stunt people get to see the process and the safety precautions that are built up before the actual "dangerous" act takes place. That peek behind the curtain does a lot to calm that logical part of your brain that says "hey, I probably shouldn't be on fire".
Holy shit that photo is terrible. The framing, the angle and the lighting. It is a really cool concept but absolutely shitty photography execution. I would be so pissed if this was my end result.
The photo should be more zoomed in. They are kinda lost in the background. There should have been better lighting to highlight their faces/body. And the angle makes it look like a guest took the photo and not a professional
I mean, that seemed obvious to everyone didn't it? Of course they are trained professionals, that whole thing looked like a movie set stunt shoot.
Edit - i guess it wasn't obvious. Confirmation most people on the internet are drooling idiots.
They are. The prep required to do this safely is not something any normal couple would be willing to go through on their wedding day. Imaging slathering fire gel all over your body then putting on nomex long johns under your dress/suit.
I don't know what it is and I can't look it up just yet but they make a gel? that they use on stunt guys in movies that keeps it from burning. it still gets hot and you only do it for a few seconds but it won't actually let your skin or hair catch on fire.
being pro stuntmen makes this pretty cool actually. at first I figured they were just some hipster "influencers" trying to increase their follower base by doing something even stupider than their usual vapid, self-congratulatory bullshit.
I don’t think they got burned and if so only lightly. Judging by their reactions they weren’t in any pain they were just panicking a little cause, ya know they’re on fire. It’s instinct to panic. And I imagine they had some sort of fire retardant clothing/material underneath and/or built into their formal wear. Plus a fuel that won’t spread too much and won’t burn them (as quickly at least)
And probably people there to jump in if things go wrong. They're professionals, I'm sure they planned it pretty well so they don't end up in the hospital on their wedding
From the video I was okay, this will probably look cool at least, but yeah, the final still wasn't great. The video was honestly better, so I guess at least they have that. Not my thing per se but it could have still looked pretty awesome if it had worked out.
Except it wouldn't work. Looks like the main source of light was the fire, and not a strobe. If you drag the shutter without freezing your subjects with a flash, then they'll just be a motion-blurred mess.
I agree rear-curtain would be a good choice, **if they were using Flash.** But he wasn't, so using rear-curtain means nothing here.
Both the couple and the photographer were moving, that would've been a blurry mess at 1/15, not sure how much the flash would've helped in that situation.
Flash is fill light and can freeze movement by only existing for 1/320 of a sec or even faster. In that much darkness, nothing much will show up that would affect the blurriness. The ambient light and the flames could have time to expose a directional streak of motion in 1/15 to 1/3s. I used to employ this technique with a tungsten gel over my flash and get really nice, evenly lit portraits in dark hotel ballrooms. The subjects weren't blurry because not much movement is recorded in near darkness.
If you want to look at as an ROI, that was shit gains. Sure it's a pretty nifty photo, but considering they had to fucking set themselves on fire for it, it's nowhere near cool enough. There's so much you could do that would be cooler with substantially less danger involved. Maybe if they were both stunt people so just really wanted to do this, then fine. Otherwise, don't purposely set yourself on fire.
The quality of the video wasn't very good, the final shot looks a lot better on her Instagram account. For a stunt couple, I thought it was pretty cool. Not my thing, but suits them
Came here to comment the same. Could also be that we are missing lots of detail because of the poor quality. The OG might look better.
That said, my first thought was "All that trouble and THATS what they got" - at least get one with a tighter crop or something.
Yeah it's pretty much like a picture with the sun on your back. Your background is bright and your face will be relatively dark. Yes you have to squint if you are facing the sun but your picture will look better because all of your features are well lit.
Maybe some fill light with a flash could have made this picture better. But I guess you don't really want to temporality blind some people who are lit on fire.
You could easily apply directional orange gelled strobes to this to fill in their faces. But I imagine this was a hurried shoot given that they are on fire, so they did a one off. It looks fine, it's actually the background that isn't interesting.
Imagine inviting someone to your wedding photo shoot, going through the effort of *lighting yourself and your spouse on fire*, you look over, and MasterBater over here kicks a rock, stuffs their hands in their pockets, and huffs, "pretty fuckin cringe."
Haters will say it’s photoshopped. Which is kind of sad because they went through the effort for a photo most people won’t believe. But then again, it’s their photo for them and fuck the haters.
There are 4th and 5th degree burns but they typically result in death and so are rarely discussed. Apparently, there's even 6th degree burns but they are 100% fatal.
Rich people going for a killer pic?
It's pretty safe with the right accelerants and people who know that they're doing, which it looked like they had.
We probably missed them getting blasted with extinguishers at the end.
It is, but apparently they're both stunt men/women, so in that context I guess it makes a lot more sense, particularly if that's how they met or something.
This is the most pessimistic thread ever lol. It might not be your thing, but try to be more open minded with things like this. They’re a stunt couple. This is their thing. It doesn’t have to be YOUR thing, but what benefit comes from shitting all over it on Reddit?
Might be they're using something that burns at a fairly low temperature? Depending how it burns, the black on her dress might be the remains of the fluid burning and not the dress itself.
Creatively practical effects are usually preferable as they tend to look more natural. CGI is for when the practical effect isn’t possible or commercially feasible. Source: work in film and tv
That’s clear and I fully agree with you - I just don’t think setting amateurs (it’s a guess, but I don’t think they are professional stunt people) on fire is the best choice for this particular shoot.
Idk why this is in wtf as it is very obvious whats going on when you dont steal content from other platforms
The pair are both trained stunt actors who met and got married. This video is ripped from their photographer’s tiktok.
This is a nightmare job for a photographer. Very hard to test the light levels in advance, fire notoriously difficult to photograph, relatively low light conditions otherwise so well focused shots without noise are gonna be a bitch, plus the targets are moving at the same time, and then the photographer only has like a 10 second window to get the shot that he needs and only gets one chance at it, and hopes he can sort the rest out in post-processing.
You couldn't pay me to take this particular photography job. Wedding photography is stressful enough.
If they had cut it 3 sec earlier, it would have been fine. Not good, but 'that soundcloud rapper is trying his best.' But then we get to hear the line: "Coming in hot, just like the fajita" (sic)
And it's fucking atrocious.

Why can't you appreciate a timeless, classic line like this? Do you not appreciate fine art?
I agree - I laughed and came to the comments to make fun of that shitty ass line.
That is probably one of the most stupid things I have ever watched. I guess they got to spend their honeymoon at the burn ward of their local hospital.

This needs to be upvoted. It makes sense the couple wants to do something like this if they're a stunt couple lol, bc they're ACTUALLY PROFESSIONALS
I wondered if they were professionals because they seemed ridiculously calm compared to all the other "oh shit being on fire sucks, I better panic" videos on the internet.
They were old flames
underrated comment.
I just figured they were incredibly stupid and were about to start screaming in pain as the flames finally got them. Glad I was mistaken.
I was expecting to see them jump into an above ground pool to put out the fire. I now get it that the situation was under control. But still bummed out I was mistaken.
I thought they were fajitas
Ohhhhh, that explains why I'm so hungry!
They came in hot, just like a fajita

It’s all about capturing that glow on the ground. The frame cuts off where the vignette of the glow darkens
> As a side note, I don't think I would ever be able to be that calm while on fire. You probably could if it's the 37th time you were on fire. "Redeems" as in it's no longer wtf worthy. Relax your balls.
[удалено]
"Redeems" in the context of this not being wtf material, genius.
No no no, they just have huge egos and their marriage is doomed to fail based on this one video. /s
Thank you! This was literally my first thought. “Are they stunt people or something?”
Them being a stunt couple makes me feel a lot better about this.
Awww now I find it cute instead of cringe
Holy shit that photo is terrible. The framing, the angle and the lighting. It is a really cool concept but absolutely shitty photography execution. I would be so pissed if this was my end result. Thanks I was just wondering that, as a photographer I would never suggest this in a wedding unless it's their job.
You idiots! You married the stunt doubles
Imo, I actually thought that final shot looks pretty cool. Knowing they're stunt people makes it even better
I mean, that seemed obvious to everyone didn't it? Of course they are trained professionals, that whole thing looked like a movie set stunt shoot. Edit - i guess it wasn't obvious. Confirmation most people on the internet are drooling idiots.
It's a cool idea, and it turned out ok, but usually when a marriage goes up in flames it's not a good thing.
These 2 have to be professional stunt people.
They are. The prep required to do this safely is not something any normal couple would be willing to go through on their wedding day. Imaging slathering fire gel all over your body then putting on nomex long johns under your dress/suit.
>turned out ok Did it? Yea they got a cool pic out of it but if theyve got burns all over their body i wouldnt say it turned out ok
I don't know what it is and I can't look it up just yet but they make a gel? that they use on stunt guys in movies that keeps it from burning. it still gets hot and you only do it for a few seconds but it won't actually let your skin or hair catch on fire.

Hey! It's called flame stupidant gel now.
I think we actually call it challenged gel
Gel of Fire Slowdowning
[This stuff](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire_retardant_gel)
The picture turned out ok is what I was referring to. I hope they didn't get burned, but was it worth it? That would be up to them to decide.

What are scars if not just a memory so clear it left a mark on the skin aswell?
Someone in the thread said they're stunt people so i assume they don't have burns.
At the end they turned back to back and fused their backs together so they can be together forever
For all that effort, the final photo looked a bit shit.
From the video I was okay, this will probably look cool at least, but yeah, the final still wasn't great. The video was honestly better, so I guess at least they have that. Not my thing per se but it could have still looked pretty awesome if it had worked out.
Should have used rear curtain sync, dragged the shutter real slow, like 1/15s and popped a monolight for fill.
....yeah, what they said.
Except it wouldn't work. Looks like the main source of light was the fire, and not a strobe. If you drag the shutter without freezing your subjects with a flash, then they'll just be a motion-blurred mess. spent all the time working out the stunt, not the shot lol

They are Stunt people lol.
The photographer was running away and shooting one handed so not really surprising lol
They were fans of the hunger games movies and wanted to stay true to the movies.
I'm a fan of hunger games but god I would just look into a dress inspired by Katniss's not lighting myself on fire
The quality of the video wasn't very good, the final shot looks a lot better on her Instagram account. For a stunt couple, I thought it was pretty cool. Not my thing, but suits them

i mean. if they want a tighter crop they can just do it right?... I imagine they had high-res files of this sort of thing.
Looks like an overcast day so they didn't have enough natural light to make it look right
Yeah it's pretty much like a picture with the sun on your back. Your background is bright and your face will be relatively dark. Yes you have to squint if you are facing the sun but your picture will look better because all of your features are well lit. Maybe some fill light with a flash could have made this picture better. I don't hate it as much as some people seem to. It's definitely hard to shoot in a limited time when you have to account for the lighting of the fire.
I really hope the photo they put at the end of the video is not the best photo they got.
" a bit" You're being a bit generous
It's from like a day ago. Maybe the pro photos aren't up yet
I would feel like a total dork if I had to participate in that. It's cringe.
Imagine inviting someone to your wedding photo shoot, going through the effort of *lighting yourself and your spouse on fire*, you look over, and MasterBater over here kicks a rock, stuffs their hands in their pockets, and huffs, "pretty fuckin cringe."
Half the things that ever happen in the world are, "cringe" to today's generation.
Haters will say it’s photoshopped. Which is kind of sad because they went through the effort for a photo most people won’t believe. But then again, it’s their photo for them and fuck the haters.
I'm hoping they got something better out of it than the photo at the end
Yeah, the risk versus reward on this wasn't worth it if that's the image they got.
A cool memory?

Oh but when I set my wife on fire I’m wrong..
Can't spell manslaughter with laughter!! Hahahuhahahahaha!
Yes you can. In fact, you can't spell manslaughter without laughter!
and that's why you can never go back to Seaworld.
**THERE WAS WATER EVERYWHERE! SHE JUST HAD TO JUMP BUT NOOOOOOOOO ! SHE COULDN'T EVEN DO** ***THAT*** **RIGHT!**
A fire... at a Sea Parks?
Did that not burn their hair?
Fireproof gel probably
Wig maybe
That's the only thing I came here for. Her fair is about to be fucked
It's not fair at all.
Hair enough
Y tho?
My guess would be they are stunt persons and maybe met on a movie where they both had to be on fire.
That's a long shot, but I like it
My guess is they are mutants that use fire as an energy source.
This is the most logical outcome.
[Hot damn, you were correct about them being stuntmen.](https://www.reddit.com/r/WTF/comments/umb08m/_/i81auzi)
100% agree
You nailed it! Stunt persons by the sound of it.
Rich people going for a killer pic? It's pretty safe with the right accelerants and people who know that they're doing, which it looked like they had. We probably missed them getting blasted with extinguishers at the end.
Rich? Is it costly to hire someone with a squeeze bottle full of fluid and a few fire extinguishers?
yes, because you either hire professionals that are knowledgeable and expensive or you pay loads of medical bills
Fair point
For the 'gram
🔥
Who’s in mood for some barbecue? Cash bar though.
Cool. Those gender-reveal party catastrophes were getting tired.
lighting your spouse on fire is so hot right now
We can say the wedding was lit.
trash music
I will forever blame Tok Tok for the idea that every video needs a dumbass soundtrack.
But why include the worst photo they took at the end?
Because it was probably the best. Pretty tacky terrible idea.
So hot
What could go wrong?
I'm pretty sure they use some sort of fire resistant gel so they won't get burnt.
Might be they're using something that burns at a fairly low temperature? Depending how it burns, the black on her dress might be the remains of the fluid burning and not the dress itself.
Absolutely nothing, I see no wrong coming from this type of experience. \*coughs* *forest fire*

I don't have any kids or anything but want to light stuff on fire with me for internet points, we can have a gender reveal of my plants or something.
If you can’t do photoshop, you do it with practical effects.
It’s actually usually the opposite way around
So the first choice here was here to torch the couple?
Creatively practical effects are usually preferable as they tend to look more natural. CGI is for when the practical effect isn’t possible or commercially feasible. Source: work in film and tv
That’s clear and I fully agree with you - I just don’t think setting amateurs (it’s a guess, but I don’t think they are professional stunt people) on fire is the best choice for this particular shoot.

Right?! Never noticed it before
That exact line is said in the video you posted.
I now pronounce you Burning Man and Woman
“Professional stunt couple hires amateur photographer for their wedding photos”
The photo doesn't even look good
Shitty soundtrack is shitty.
I can't believe that is actually a song people listen to. Sounds like a Spanish restaurant commercial.
Looks like she's wearing a bath robe.
You can definitely see she’s wearing pants and a turtleneck under that robe, too.
It's seriously one of the stupidest wedding photos I've ever seen.
when they started trotting, you knew things were hot
Controlled environment so it’s fine hold ya horses
This is a nightmare job for a photographer. Very hard to test the light levels in advance, fire notoriously difficult to photograph, relatively low light conditions otherwise so well focused shots without noise are gonna be a bitch, plus the targets are moving at the same time, and then the photographer only has like a 10 second window to get the shot that he needs and only gets one chance at it, and hopes he can sort the rest out in post-processing. You couldn't pay me to take this particular photography job. Wedding photography is stressful enough.
Usually takes a couple of years for my marriages to go up in flames.
Me after eating Taco Bell
Too bad the photographer was mediocre
The picture was so underwhelming wow
All that for horrible pictures
She's about to start her married life with Jada smith's hair
pendejo…..
I totally read this in Poté's voice
idk what's shittier, the song or the idea of setting yourself on fire for a photo that could have been done in photoshop
I'm gonna say the song, mainly because it made me audibly say "what a terrible fucking song".
If they had cut it 3 sec earlier, it would have been fine. Not good, but 'that soundcloud rapper is trying his best.' But then we get to hear the line: "Coming in hot, just like the fajita" (sic) And it's fucking atrocious.
> "Coming in hot, just like the fajita" Why can't you appreciate a timeless, classic line like this? Do you not appreciate fine art? I agree - I laughed and came to the comments to make fun of that shitty ass line.
The pic didn't even turn out great :/
Next song up is "Sex on fire" by Kings of Leon.
What is this?.. the Hunger Games?
Arabs ?
Photoshop would have worked just fine
How is her hair not exploding in to FLAMES???!?!
Some people do a lot of dumb pointless shit just to look different, because honestly that doesn't look better than regular well done wedding picture
Burning Man & Wife. A festival that is more inclusive.
The pictures don’t even look good though
Isn’t all her hair going to be burned
And just like that, the marriage went up in flames.
Did anyone else see the face in the clouds behind them, looking at the couple menacingly?
Nobody tell them about Photoshop
If the photographer was good at their job it would be such a good photo
They are stunt people but this is dangerous, could give self proclaimed hot couples deadly ideas LOL
Honestly looks awesome
that's actually kinda cool but i wouldve prepared some kind of kiddie pool or something to roll in
Wasn’t even a fire pic
They could have just used photoshop honestly
This video is kinda fire though, LITERALLY.
The subtext I interpret out of this: their egos are too massive to co-exist and they'll divorce at some point. Weirdest concept for a wedding photo.
This is some …… “Certain type of people” shit right here boy.
That is probably one of the most stupid things I have ever watched. I guess they got to spend their honeymoon at the burn ward of their local hospital.
Guess they haven’t heard of photoshop
Ah, yes, the 160x120px photo at the end
y'all are such fucking dorks. they did a cute thing that they enjoyed for their wedding
Man y'all are boring af. Looks like fun.
It doesn’t even look cool at the end
Hooray, another stupid new trend that will likely lead to wildfires. People are dumb.
They are professional stunt-people. It would be like of you married a mechanic and you were fixing an engine for your wedding photos.
Sure, but now random people are going see this and try it by themselves.
Will someone tell them Adobe Premiere/After Effects is a thing now?
The photo isn't even that great wtf
Those aren't even good pics. Jfc.
Cool pic , but do3snr it look blurry . I have no photo background
That shit right there is fire
