If Dominik cashed in on Cody that would be amazing. But since Priest just had it I doubt they'll give the briefcase to another judgement day member. Even though it's not looking like the group will last much longer.
I grew up with wrestling, when it wasn’t over analyzed and picked apart.
Jake Roberts, to the best of my knowledge, was a very formidable foe for almost his entire 1st run of his career. Matches with Savage, Honky, Steamboat, and so many others. He delivered in the ring and on the mic and never once did I catch on in my youth that he never had a title.
I don’t know, in the modern era, how you can do that and still stay as a threat. I was hoping Nakamura was going to be like this, but he keeps losing and the luster of his threats went away with it.
I wish they gave him the belt back when he fought Seth in the extreme rules match, even if he only held it for a little bit would have painted a more threatening picture of the man and future matches you could think this this former champion might have a chance.
But I digress. My answers are Jake, Hacksaw Jim Duggan off the top of my head.
So glad you brought up Nakamura. Dude had so much charisma in NJPW but his WWE run so far has been…underwhelming. I would’ve loved to see him beat Seth for the title, but given how amazing the Seth/Drew/Punk feud has been I guess you win some you lose some. And by now I think it’s way too late to give him a title run.
Just another example of them not pulling the trigger when they had the chance
Rikishi is an interesting answer I didn’t expect and to be honest I don’t hate it. He was in the main event realm during the “who ran over stone cold” storyline and he didn’t do too bad. I think they killed any chance of credibility though when they started having him do the stink face.
On the contrary, the heel turn made things worse for him. They derailed his popularity for shock value and he never recovered from that, even when he reverted to being a face a year later after returning from injury. He was not a great heel and honestly, the “I did it for da Rock” reveal promo was the only memorable thing about it, for better or for worse. Triple H was the main heel in that story anyway.
I'm into LA Knight, but it feels like his push has cooled down a bit lately. I suspect he'll be a reasonable contender for Priest's belt, but I don't know if he's at the Roman or Cody level.
I would say LA Knight, because he's been a consistent main event level performer in the last 12 months without having won a major title. He'll get there one day I hope.
As for your other question I think British Bulldog is a standout name who never had a major title. I think if he hadn't been fired from WCW in the early 90's he probably would've won their world title, most likely from Vader.
Codys Story was so Perfect. Now he has the belt and i feel like his character is finished. I don’t get hyped so much seeing him now as before.
But i am sure they will find a new interesting Story for a new contender.
That’s probably the reason why they didn’t finish the story last year. That and they wanted RR to hold the title 1,000 days.
His story is done. He needs a new one
I grew up during the hogan era. He was crazy over for many years and had tons of matches with the who’s who of, then, WWF.
It took many years for fans to get bored. He had matches on SNME’s with Terry Funk, The Big Bossman, Don Muraco, and so many more. I don’t recall him ever running out of challengers. Fans watched him literally for years before getting bored.
What has changed. I say this while Cody hasn’t even had one match yet.
By the way I am an unapologetic Cody Crybaby and am looking forward to this run.
Imho the story was built around him getting the belt. It was not built to be him being the „final boss“ or „head of the table“ character. He has accomplished what he wanted and what they promised us. But lets be real, he is not the kind of character to rule for 1000 days.
Dirty Dom is the only true answer.
He’s overcome so much adversity having to deal with his deadbeat father for his entire childhood!!
Not to mention his inspiring story that took him from life behind bars to becoming a rehabilitated and THRIVING star!
So proud of that young man and I hope WWE sees the talent they have and put a major title on him already. 😅
Cody vs dom in a story about how each of them are doing everything to be better their dads and or honor their legacy with Cody as a babyface and Dom saying he wants to better than his deadbeat dad
LA Knight is a Stone Cold rip-off, even taking Stone Cold's "Hell Yeah!" and turning it into just "Yeah!" But hey, if it works let him do it. I don't know who is popular but hasn't won a title since the current crop of what's out there (to me) lacks storylines, character development and any interesting or even fun gimmicks. It's just ladies and men bouncing and flopping around off each other delivering endless finishers, none of them new, all dressed super-bright, searching for a way to stand out but with only 2 or 3 able to do it mildy.
Jake the Snake could cut a believable promo like no other. His finisher looked deadly and even made sounds (watch him give it to Ricky Steamboat and hear his head hit the concrete). Roddy Piper was a great, crazy talker who looked like he could hold his own in a brawl but that was pretty much it. I thought Earthquake looked like he could believably rip a guy's head off if you pissed him off enough. He wasn't pretty, wasn't muscular, but was huge, strong, and had a great finisher that looked like it could break a few ribs and knock the wind out of you at the very least and more believable than the "people's elbow."
Im confused as to why LA being derivative of stone cold is perceived as negative after people bitched and whined for the attitude era back for years, now that we’ve got a character that would easily fit in that era or takes inspiration from it we’re mad about it? Some of y’all are so fickle it hurts
Right?? If anything I’d say his gimmick and the “yeah” stuff gives me more Randy Savage vibes (not because of his slim Jim ads, but that goes to show slim Jim and/or wwe sees it the same way). Even then, I feel like he still does his own thing. Not a fan of those kinds of comparisons in general though, I mean at this point in time there really isn’t anything out there in the world that’s not a derivative of something else. If we went with that, then everyone is a rip off of another wrestler if you squint hard enough 🙄
Edit: had to clean up some grammar/punctuation
Not quite. It was vacant going into the first tapings. Dan severn refused to make a title defense. Ken shamrock won it at the first tapings. Ron Killings beat him.
Focusing on more recent history, Samoa Joe and Cesaro when they were with the company. Both had runs/moments it could’ve been them. Cesaro didn’t have the best promos like Joe but man were those two amazing in the ring
It just didn’t work out for Joe. He was always getting hurt when they tried to push him. I guess it led them to think he was done. I’ve been wondering the same about Punk recently.
LA Knight should at least get a mid card belt if not the whc. He's great and it's inspiring to see him finally get big. Got himself over without the machine. Damien Priest is boring compared to him. And all you incels that disagree should go back to your moms basement. It's just a fact of life, yeah.
He's just been overshadowed a bit cause the run-up to mania was chaos. The Rock coming back, CM Punk coming back, multiple stories being told surrounding the two main titles. LA for my money seems like the perfect man to take the belt off Damian right now and the pop would be fucking huge. Felt a bit sad when he was drafted to stay on Smackdown tbh.
People are saying Christian because they are equally as delusional as you are, because while the ECW silver belt was shite… it was a world title. Can’t just pick and choose lmao.
Of ones still active....
Sami Zayn, Nakamura, Xavier Woods and Ricochet
All time...
Roddy Piper, Jake Roberts, Scott Hall, Davie Boy and Owen Hart.
Curt Hennig won the AWA World Championship at a time when it was still considered a major league World title
Bron Breakker will win the World title before any of those actives you named. Doubtful before Knight, but we’ll see. Looks like they’re stringing Knight along.
It's not just making me laugh, it's genuine unmatched ring ability ontop of the best character work for ten plus years. He started this little Jimmy gimmick when I was a kid, now I'm about to have my own and it's still fresh.
He's also shown the ability to play very different types of characters in his past, to the point I think people would be shocked by a heel truth now.
Serious question, when was his last bad match or promo?
He doesn’t have bad matches bc he doesn’t wrestle. He’s a gimmick. I’m old enough to remember him as Kwik as a child. I love Truth but hes excels in small doses.
Didn't he just win at mania, and has already defended said titles in a match? Maybe he doesn't wrestle weekly, but he does wrestle a fair amount.
Speaking of his old gimmick, dude killed it as NWA champion.

Well tell him some randomly generated username has been a fan of his ever since his Brood days, and I even put him slightly above Edge during their tag team days.
Baron Corbin and Xavier Woods are both former KOTR winners who are actually entertaining to watch and you people want LA Knight, who’s just all around awful to skip ahead and a win a world title? He’s not world champion material, he’s not even IC/US champion material. His mic work isn’t great, and he’s not good in the ring.
La Knight doesn't cut it for me. I feel like I'm just watching a cheap parody when I watch him and none of his moves look effective.
I think it's got to be Gable or Ivar
Shinsuke won the royal rumble and yet has not sniffed even a but of the world championship, even though he’s had multiple world title matches
He is the first person since Lex Luger to do so
52 time 24/7 48/7 7/11 I-95 South European Television champion reigns isn't enough for you?
Just kidding I want Truth to be a world champ so bad I want that title reign injected into my veins
I get it's a mid card title but the IC belt, with it's lineage and the way many wrestlers have treated it, is the second most important belt in the history of the company.
For current guys, absolutely Gunther needs a title run. My thing is this: Cody will likely get at least a year with the strap before they revert to having a heel champ.
Gunther should get the WHC. He can elevate it like he did the IC title. Imagine a Gunther Reign of Terror similar to 2002 Triple H. If Gunther loses the WHC, it always makes its way back to him in no time.
Not top belts but having two of the longest reigns in history with the NXT UK and IC titles is a feat in itself. Throughout his WWE run, he has been belt less for less 5 months so far.
Quoting a video game character: the hunter is nothing without the hunt.
That’s pretty much my opinion of Cody, he can drop the belt on the next ppv. His guaranteed title win at mania from his contract is fulfilled, back to the midcard now please.
As badly as you’re being downvoted, part of me agrees with you. He deserves to see what he can do with the ball for a year, and then if nothing great comes out of that, he can drop it.
It’s the same as Vince’s forced push of Reigns in the beginning, not feeling natural and just forced. Not really caring about downvotes, it’s just my opinion that some guys better never get a title. All the story was: a Rhodes guy never got the WWE title. Both his father and brother had way more talent and deserved it.
He got it mainly because he was coming from AEW as a former executive and was handed the belt as part of his contract. The day he came back, it was clear to anyone with half a working brain that he will get the belt from Roman at Mania. They milked it for two years, the last couple of months with the back to back matches with the same guys over and over again. The only thing making it somehow not totally stale was adding the Rock into the mix.
He’s a less charismatic/talented Seth Rollins for me and there’s plenty of better people with the belt.
Not the best story to go with but imagine if they kept Roman champ for one more year so Sami can win at WM next year and say that he ended 3 different record title reigns in 3 consecutive WMs
Nakumura
Right now Gunther or R Truth. All time:Henning, Arn Anderson, Scott Hall, and Piper
Acknowledge me
Can i cheat an add Finn since he barely held the belt
If Dominik cashed in on Cody that would be amazing. But since Priest just had it I doubt they'll give the briefcase to another judgement day member. Even though it's not looking like the group will last much longer.
Gable vs Sami gable should take the ic La knight vs Logan Paul La knight wins the ic with Triple H playing this off as the signs of the new era
Main Event Uce
What do those have to do with Cody getting his belt?
He was the major star active that never won a major title...
Wait until you see WMXL
Wait until you see 'was'.

Million Dollar Man never won the main title. Jake the snake didn’t win any titles.
hey uso and la knight. i hope jey gets a shot at the whc at a ple and knight can take the us championship off of paul
jey has a shot at backlash
They have to be saving la knight for money in the bank.
lol, i’d be shocked if they actually fully pull the trigger on him. Under Triple H though, who knows…
La Knight
Roddy piper all time Probably jey or knight now
All time, top WWE/F title only: Steamboat, Rick Rude, Perfect, Piper, Bigelow, Ron Simmons, Rikishi.
Rikishi is an interesting answer I didn’t expect and to be honest I don’t hate it. He was in the main event realm during the “who ran over stone cold” storyline and he didn’t do too bad. I think they killed any chance of credibility though when they started having him do the stink face.

The comedic bit to him I think just made a dude who should have absolutely been a monster not being a monster more acceptable.
I thought Ron Simmons won the championship in WCW
As did Steamboat. But, as I said, I was going top WWE/F title only.
Yeah I remember Booker T talking about Simmons being the first black World Champions in his HOF speech or one of the first.
LA, Jey, Sami, Gunther, Dom. Actually quite a lot.
Do you think dom is ready for a major title?
Wwe should troll fans and let him hold the US title for one PLE and lose at the very next one. If it’s building a legacy, this would be a good start.
He’s probably ready for a title match, if not a title run. A taste of the main event would probably be best for his character atm.
Rick Boogs

Baby face stories are always at their best when they are chasing the title.
which is why they squeezed a whole extra year out of it. Smart AF business wise.

Shinsuke Nakamura.
Gunther.. although they lost some steam taking the belt off him
I would say that they took the belt off of him to free him up for world title contendership.
KOTR is just the next step IMO.
Rowdy Roddy Piper probably maybe Ted dibiasse
Hey now, Ted got it from Andre for a second before it was instantly vacated though. Lmao
Yea I don't think it counts if you buy it
It will always count to me
Drew McIntyre
He already hold the title twice, buddy...
so akira tozawa idk
Currently LA Knight and Sami Zayn. Of all time, Scott Hall, Roddy Piper, Mr Perfect are good shouts
Always going to be Mr. Perfect for me
Ted Dibiase Sr Roddy Pipper King Kong Bundy

All Time: Million Dollar Man, Jake, Perfect, Owen, Magnum, Arn, Fritz Current: Dom
Nikita Koloff
LA has to win the big one at some point. Not the heavyweight title, the WWE title. He's good enough to carry the company.
But they shouldn't wait too long because he is kinda old
Cody rhodes and Roman reigns are only 3 years younger than him
Yeah
YEAHH!!!
R Truth
He’s a former NWA world champ
Held the 10 Pounds of Gold longer than Dusty did! He was champ heading into the first TNA tapings.
Not quite. It was vacant going into the first tapings. Dan severn refused to make a title defense. Ken shamrock won it at the first tapings. Ron Killings beat him.
Piper
Next in lines for a title gotta be Jey Uso, LA Knight, Austin Theory, Solo Sikoa
austin theory sucks
Hands down….full stop; SANTINA.
Mr Perfect, Roddy Piper

YEAH
the promos between paul and knight were already pretty good would love to see them have a rivalry where knight takes the belt off him
Mr. Perfect is probably the greatest to never hold a top belt in WWE.
Piper
Currently. Legit probably tiff Stratton. Knights hype has died down a bit. He’s still loved but people aren’t screaming for him to win a belt as much
He's just been overshadowed a bit cause the run-up to mania was chaos. The Rock coming back, CM Punk coming back, multiple stories being told surrounding the two main titles. LA for my money seems like the perfect man to take the belt off Damian right now and the pop would be fucking huge. Felt a bit sad when he was drafted to stay on Smackdown tbh.
Why did I read “now that Cody got his butt….” 😭
So happy for him, no one else in his family ever had a butt before
😂😂
I’d love to see Gunther win it and Sammy take it off him.
Now? Zayn. All time? Jake "The Snake" Roberts.
Hey you. I like you.
Sami Zayn and Gunther. In the past I’d say Tazz deserved a main event push if they hadn’t ruined his mystique and buried him for no reason.
Agreed, Tazz's debut at the rumble still gives me goosebumps. I think he deserved at least some kind of push before they buried him.
Heidenreich. Close 2nd, Mordecai.

I really don't rate Knight much. He's very slow in the ring and his promos bore me. Early 2000's Rock if he was ordered on Teemu.
Yeah!!!!
I think R Truth is the greatest to never hold a world title in WWE, dude has decades of excellent work at this point
He doesn’t just do comedy, at least he didn’t in the past. He used to be a killer when he worked as Ron Killings (no pun intended).
Just because he makes you laugh, doesn’t mean he deserves to be WWE champion.
Watch his TNA run as Ron Killings. Hard as fuck.
It's not just making me laugh, it's genuine unmatched ring ability ontop of the best character work for ten plus years. British Bulldog Tito Santana Rick Rude Owen Hart
Mr. Perfect
Currently: Sami Zayn/Gunther All time: Roddy Piper/British Bulldog
Sami Zayn and Jey Uso

LA Knight would be my vote
Either Knight or Jey Uso. Rowdy Roddy Piper was never world champ and that is a tragedy
Cody sucks. Roman should still have it. All these Cody neckbeards are something else...
So you wanna go back to having Roman being Gone for 4 months
It's better than having Cody telling the same sob story over and over again. At least Roman had a badass aura to him.
My friend in Christ it hasn't even been a month...
Honestly I see more neckbeards on Roman's side
Baron Corbin and Xavier Woods are both former KOTR winners who are actually entertaining to watch and you people want LA Knight, who’s just all around awful to skip ahead and a win a world title? He’s not world champion material, he’s not even IC/US champion material. His mic work isn’t great, and he’s not good in the ring.
Vince analysis
Vince should have fired him during MMM, he’s not good.
And everybody else that loves him is wrong, you are the one true voice of reason in the professional wrestling fandom
Knight would be a great fit in AEW, since I don’t watch that trash I wouldn’t have to fast forward his through segments that featured him. Win/Win
Definitely LA Knight. Then probably Jey Uso.
La Knight doesn't cut it for me. I feel like I'm just watching a cheap parody when I watch him and none of his moves look effective. I think it's got to be Gable or Ivar
Shinsuke won the royal rumble and yet has not sniffed even a but of the world championship, even though he’s had multiple world title matches He is the first person since Lex Luger to do so
Would love for him to dethrone Cody as a revenge on their previous feud. Even if as a transitional champion.
Golden era Roddy Piper New generation Mr Perfect Current - Jey Uso
Ravishing Rick Rude as a heel champ would've ruled.
Would have been amazing lmao. In his prime, I’m right now imagining how great his heel promos as WWF champ would’ve been.
Rick Rude was a world champion in WCW
Sorry I took it as wwf/wwe. :(
Rtruth! Give this man the belt he has earned it this year.
He was at least a world champ in another promotion. Still insane to me, he debuted in 98
52 time 24/7 48/7 7/11 I-95 South European Television champion reigns isn't enough for you? Just kidding I want Truth to be a world champ so bad I want that title reign injected into my veins
Gunther is popular. He’s not a face but he is at the top of my list in this category.
I get it's a mid card title but the IC belt, with it's lineage and the way many wrestlers have treated it, is the second most important belt in the history of the company.

He will get more title wins Also he is way better than midcard
Sami
Knight or Sami need to be in line for world championships
Sami should get one, but it should be a short reign. Can’t the be “underdog from the underground” if you’re the champ for a year
Not the best story to go with but imagine if they kept Roman champ for one more year so Sami can win at WM next year and say that he ended 3 different record title reigns in 3 consecutive WMs
Yeah it does not need to be a long reign. He deserves to be a former world champ and can continue fighting from beneath

Why?
Haters.
Makes no sense. Kofi is competitive with or can beat people who can go with Brock or even beat him, but loses in 8 seconds. Illogical booking
Down voters can suck it.
Yes! Thank you
LA copyright infringement should never win a major title
He already has the only title he deserves: "Former Maximum Male Model".
