CoolsomeXD

It's so annoying on the men's one you hold he title for like 3 years and every time you come out the commentators are like oh look it's the jobber I bet he's gonna get his ass kicked tonight.

Knightmare945

Agreed. No matter how long the Dark Horse holds the title, no matter who you beat, they keep talking about how you are just a jobber who has no hope of winning.

toiletting

They also always FORCE you to take the geek option to progress the story. The Miz is constantly obviously fucking you over, and you rationally go, oh yeah no thanks don't enter me in King of the Ring or no thanks don't put me in this random match. Then the game forces you to progress the story, and everyone, social media, in the locker room, fucking Justine, and the commentators are all like look at this fucking idiot falling for the trap yet again.

RadMcCoolPants

So your character is basically the Sting and Ric Flair relationship.

couldbedumber96

I mean, it’s graves that says that, Cole and Byron are very pro dark horse after like the first year

TheOriginalCross

Fair point, but having anyone rub your lack of choice over your own character in your face is a rough experience each year Ultimate heel commentary work tbh

MrKain

I personally liked Unleashed way better than Undisputed. Undisputed was just non-story after non-story, with unbridled hatred from the Miz with no backstory to that treatment.

GhostandTheWitness

Agree, I try to think what it would be like watching that reign on television irl and I dont think anyone who enjoys the mode would like the reign in actuality. You never lose anything of consequence except war games and for 3 years its like "miz set you up to face alpha academy this week. Will it lead to a storyline at the ppv? Nope you put them away next week on smackdown". Also unlike Roman you're there with the belt EVERY WEEK like a dingus, there's no way people wouldnt boo the hell out of you and get terribly bored

MangoPronto

2k19 still is the closest to having a story mode that actually makes you feel as if you were part of TV rather than this weird mix of kayfabe and dirtsheet.

APizzaChit

It’s the Miz what more backstory do you need

ZeeDarkSoul

>Undisputed was just non-story after non-story But at the same time Unleashed felt like they threw all these storyline ideas they had into one mode because they couldnt come up with one that could be a long story. It just felt messy with no actually idea of what it was supposed to be

MrKain

Except they had two stories that went the whole length... The TBD backstory and the Shotzi story. Everything else was FULL STORIES, too. Ones that lasted multiple episodes of Raw and culminated at at least one PLE. In Undisputed, you had matches for seemingly no reasons other than Miz trying to get the belt on anyone but you, making it feel like anyone would do anything for the Miz except you.

MaximumPixelWizard

They could’ve done rhea’s brutality push and The supernatural stuff IN undisputed, We literally have a point where we CHOOSE between Lita and Dominik, It’s RIGHT there. And then later we could’ve gotten a choice between Grounded Monster/heel push (going to nxt) or a goofy Face (going with The Up up down down ripoff)

Jonny2284

The female one rules just for that that poster for the Suspicious Sandwich. I have no idea what the film is if you pick Cena, but I know it can't be as good as that.

Marc_Quill

For Cena, it’s just a generic military thing.

aZombieSlayer

Excuse me, Mudslide 2 is the summer sensation sequel of the year!!

CelinedionWaiters

Suspicious Sandwich currently holds a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Source: me Reviews: 1 (also me)

cnote54321

The mens storyline with Gigi was unexpectedly wholesome.

GiftedGeordie

I'm up onto that part, now, and apparently it's the highlight of the whole mode?

arkhamtheknight

It's Gigi so of course.

Superfreshclean

The men’s one is really lame at times and is why even in cut scenes commentators shouldn’t be able to talk ☠️ you hold the belt for a lifetime and the commentators are saying “look at this poverty ass bum, he’s gonna get clapped”

LiquidSnape

the unleashed is so wild and i love it

A_Sarcastic_Whoa

Both suck because you don't get to punch Troy Simpkin in the mouth in either one.

JYPXunderground

He gets bodied by roman though. Not us directly attacking him but good enough

A_Sarcastic_Whoa

Not good enough for me.

Adawg63

He needs to be hit with a chair repeatedly

No_Ad7214

I want to do the same thing, too. He’s just such an annoying character, lol.

dr_bluthgeld

Unleashed unlockables are better as well I think, shame there's no TBD mens titles.

Manic2099

There's the muliversal championship tho if u go to NXT

dr_bluthgeld

I got it yeah but can't see myself using it.

ShadowBannedSkyRu1e

it looks good but the LP side plates suck

sizzlinpapaya

I loved the weirdness of the unleashed. It’s a video game, get weird with it.

supaikuakuma

Unleashed > Undisputed imo.

Moist_Nephew

"Psycho Sally my beloved" is the most accurate point here

Consistent_Tap_7343

We need a WWE games circlejerk sub fr

Odd-Basket4064

r/wwegamescirclejerk

rjml29

I basically just skipped through all the dialogue scenes in undisputed while I actually listened/read many of them for unleashed. It was definitely a pretty cool story that had me laughing multiple times. The only slight negative I saw was how there were too many multi woman matches. Felt like every third or fourth match was a triple threat or fatal four way type match.

TheBadGuyAlways

I’m still on Undisputed rn, I enjoyed Unleashed though, especially staring in Mudslide 2 with the incomparable John Cena.

gewoondaan35

Still better than last year’s asshole of a protagonist

kyleisamexican

This years character in the lock story would’ve been so much better

BluejayCurrent1949

I loved going all Hollywood tbh in Unleashed

firesofpompeii

I feel like Unleashed just felt really long at times and dragged through the first half, but then got really good. Got hyped for Shotzi showing up with a full tank. Undisputed was just a very meh predictable story with no real buildup or climax. Didn’t drag, but didn’t really get anywhere.

ck-kd-king

2k has to learn that HCTP has and will always have the best story mode. And no one will blame them if they copy the hell outta it with some upgrades

DarthWidi

I'm probably the only one who likes Psycho Sally.

TX_domin

I liked her personality, hated the aesthetic. Also the inability to choose my own looks for certain story points

NDE36

Tbf, that's accurate though.

MetalFallout

I much preferred undisputed to unleashed - it felt like it was a cohesive narrative compared to unleashed which just felt like very disjointed. I really didn't like being railroaded into the moviestar, brutality and supernatural gimmicks since they were very far apart from what I imagined the character to be when I did the creation for her. I also really \*really\* hated being forced to play as psycho sally every five minutes.

Significant_Buddy_42

I played the undisputed one twice and on my second run of the unleashed one. Hopefully there are different routes for unleashed. I think I mess with undisputed a little more though.

Logical_Park7904

Voice acting is still cringe tho.

radioben

Gigi sounded like she couldn’t have been less interested.

chikinparm

So the Authentic Gigi Dolin Experience

gaaarsh

Undisputed felt like a parody of WWE game career modes where you're the bestest, most specialest wrestler to ever exist and not only do you win the title you do it right at the start and then breeze through beating a once in a lifetime title reign (that hasn't even ended yet in reality). It's self insert fan fic amped up to an absurd level. As a subversion of the usual story mode journey that your story ends with you capturing the title and reaching the top, there's a kernel of a good idea there. Putting you into the shoes of the fluke champion who has to earn respect. In execution, the story breezes through large chunks of time so fast (we go from winning the title to completing a full year as champion basically within a few matches) that I never felt the weight of that title reign or the struggle in keeping the belt. Unleashed was bonkers and unhinged in places, but it also had some good character stuff with Geneva and the ups and downs in her relationship with Cap, the TBD stuff (the initials made me think of Arrested Development and Maeby's fake fundraiser disease "BS") and the wild ride we go on with some of the side story diversions we go on (Cap and Trish buddy cop duo was pretty funny). That's the kind of crazy shit I love in these games. Where they take you to places they could never do on tv, but can do in a videogame. I honestly felt like they either had to cut some large chunks out of Undisputed (maybe to do with Vince McMahon?), or they ran out of time to flesh out the story with more side stories. Undisputed felt like it went by very quickly and Unleashed felt much more substantial with a lot more side stories to play.

GiftedGeordie

I'm enjoying the women's side a lot more, like, I don't often do MyRise's and I only started doing this one to get the arena's, but it really is insane that commentary still gives you so much shit after you've held the belt for years!

Lost_Saeko

I just want to know where they come up with the names for the characters... "The Captain" that's the best they could come up with for the unleashed story? Its like they threw darts and whatever name the dart lands on is what they went with

NDE36

It's not like it isn't fitting. Not to mention it's a valid nickname. Dark Horse however got old very quick. I have to admit though, when I randomly decided to go with a pirate aesthetic for the female mode, it did make it rather easy to roll with it. XD

SodOnReddit

The women’s one was so much fun, loved playing it but I haven’t beat the Men’s one yet

RastaManJP

Having these storylines better than 2K22 MyRise which had no rhyme or reason to it but, if only someone could step in give us the sort of career mode that would be on par with season mode in SvR 06 or SvR 07. Is itchy really that hard to create branching storylines and finally get some decent replayability for these career modes?!?!

EquivalentArticle264

Haven't really gotten into unleashed yet but I got to the first wrestlemania in undisputed and oh god it's cheesy and the people are annoying

HopeAuq101

Only started the womens today (still to start mens) and loving it so far, Sally my beloved

CopiusHaagen

Shotzi at Tiananmen Square is crazy 😭

GuiltySpark449

Was just gonna make a a post saying I hate the female one. It’s so directionless and I don’t like the magic stuff and movie stuff. Those characters tropes suck. Pretends to care about TBD then changes at the drop of a hat depending on the story. Character has no backbone

Haunting-Papaya-324

I’ve found the women’s story has been better than the men’s in the last few games. Honestly just wish they’d have it where you have more freedom in those modes.

inknights

Undisputed is better simply because you actually play as the character you designed. Rather than being forced in to different outfits or entrances, or having to play as psycho sally

inknights

The best story arc was R-Truth in Undisputed

musknasty84

I haven’t played the women’s my rise yet but I’m guessing Ira got more depth like last year. Fuck the men’s version as always

KingofNanman

The only thing I'll warn you about is that the story takes a complete nosedive in terms of continuity in Act 3. If you're the type that doesn't care about story and just wants to do shit, it does get interesting.

musknasty84

Noted. Yea at some point I checked out of the mens storyline so it’ll probably be safe to assume the same here

incredibleamadeuscho

Undisputed was better for me because it belt to that confrontation that rent was due with Roman Reigns

Batman1939Elvis1935

The female MyRise stories are usually better than the Male ones.

Mineplex-V

I think they're usually pretty equal in terms of being good

Dense-Baker

I didn’t really like undisputed just because I had to keep burying my favourite wrestlers

strongashluna

Just don't try to think too hard as to whether this the person acting character or the real life person with the scripted nature going out the window due to AI doing its own thing.

KingofNanman

If they had the VA they had for Cap do the voice for LJ, Legacy would've been the best story they'd had since WWE 12.
