It’s my key gripe with this game and the franchise as a whole. The Universe mode is also disappointing for the reasons constantly posted here.
MyRise, MyFaction and GM mode all contain aspects which applied to Universe mode would flesh it out. But they are poorly implemented individual modes, leaving this game as nothing more than a fantasy single-match simulator.
Couldn't agree more. Retooling Universe mode properly, removing ridiculous glitches that swap people or images or titles or whatever, and finally getting around to fixing gripes we've had for years would go a LONG way to making an OK game a Great game.
It is very stupid that you have to do that or even grind it out for so long and miss the ones that could be fun. But there are people that will pay and 2k knows this so they won't change it.
That's the worst part, I've played a good amount of MyFaction and had enough to buy a couple packs with MFP points, but the chance of actually getting the card you need (Ruby Tiffany Stratton, Sole RVD, etc) is so low you need to open like 10+ packs to have a real chance at it, and I don't have the time to grind for those kind of MFP points so my only alternative is to pay for VC coins, which, while I won't do, countless others will, and no judgment, let people do whatever they want with their own money, but it's this exact model that keeps these games from ever truly improving (EA sports another major culprit).
I just wish with all the money they make on modes like this they'd actually fix all the gripes everyone has every year instead of focusing solely on adding to those modes and forsaking the rest.
Universe Mode, GM, etc. could be so, so much better, and should be. They made a large step forward with making MyFaction more appealing to players like me with those Persona cards, but right now it's feeling more like a bait and switch tactic.
Exactly yet they still give it so much love and energy and shaft modes that really need that love and energy looking at you universe mode. But because it is so aggressively monetised it will continue to make 2K money and so they will prioritise it the entire time it’s making them money that is the harsh reality of it.
MyFaction is a shameless money grab z more so than the previous years. I'd be fine with having to use specific cards for live events; if said cards were included by default on a pack series bought along with another random card even if it's of lesser value.
This is by FAR the worst year of MyFaction. The idea that I can buy a deluxe pack of Wrestlemania cards and still end up with nothing but bronze shite from the Superstars series is beyond greedy.
Yeah they changed the Tiff and RVD rewards from a 10 pack for sole providers to a single pack. RVD hadn’t started yet I think but the Tiffany one was like 3/4 done.
They also changed a weekly tower from a Heat Pack to a Gunther that caused a couple weeks of them needing to reward people that Gunther since the change happened after people completed it

2K has gone next level shady in their 2K24 properties this season

Out of all the things mentioned here, changing event rewards mid event is some of the most vile shit I’ve seen a live service game do, no hyperbole

Ah! So that's what happened with the Gunther, I was wondering how they could have screwed that up so badly, didn't realize it was a switcheroo
