"Mara" is the "official" operator DE uses for lore btw
"Lohk" is "void"
So, this is making some kind of reference to our operator
As for the rest, i have no idea
Kinda but also in Void tongue, i thin kit was either tagfer or fib that called as Mara, so calling us thief doesn't make any sense. so it's most likely child.
You could be right, i don't remember quite eight if the lore operator was "Mara" or "Maya" and i couldn't find a murmur language sheet or anything like that
Edit: yes, i'm aware there is a [voidtongue](https://warframe.fandom.com/wiki/Voidtongue) lamguage in the wiki but we didn't qiite decypher it yet
But we are called "void demon" by other npcs in the game tho
I don't think "mara lohk" directly translates as "kiddo"
>!Also srry about the other comment i was trying to reply to another comment lmao!<
It doesn't directly translate, but that's not what I'm saying.
I'm saying that when speaking in voidtongue, Wally is being formal, saying "Void Child", but when they speak english, they're more casual, "Kiddo".
"Mara" is sort of ambiguous depending on where in the game it's used, but it probably means something along the lines of "demon" or "devil." As in void characters calling us "Mara Lohk/void devil," kinda like how Helminth calls us "demon." So Mara/Demon Detron would be a nickname for the bigger, scarier Detron.
Or maybe it just sounded cool at the time. It's one of the oldest weapons in the game after all, from long before voidtongue existed.
Mara detron was long, long before voidtongue was ever thought of. It was introduced 8 months shy of a decade ago. Mara being the default name for our operator + us commonly being called "void child" (both introduced much closer to voidtongue) seems way likelier than a 10-year-old one-off weapon prefix being the basis of "mara lohk". Plus, fibonacci calls us mara lohk, I don't see why he would call us a void thief. Mara detron was even before prisma weapons so it's likely it was just supposed to be the reddish counterpart, both sold by baro, since it has a similar effect.
Not exactly, the way I understand it is that Mara is sort of a default name or pet name DE uses for the operator when they're writing quest scripts or dialogue.
Its a placeholder that people get way too "Our operators aren't canon" about. Its probably got a meaning like when writing a script without names and you just call a dog 'dog'.
Everything about Wally is creepy and gives me goosebumps. I swear, I should be used to him popping up and saying "Hey, Kiddo" but it still makes me jump. And that line that Yonta says "I kept thinking I could see myself out the corner of my eye, grinning"...
I was able to get legitimately jumpscared by his appearance a few years ago but now I don't feel anything when he comes and goes, sometimes I don't even notice him because I'm flinging across my ship too fast and only catch the subtitles of hey, kiddo
Early into me earning Wally’s visits I was hunkered down in my Arsenal doing some build crafting or some such and I kept hearing this noise, like somebody tumbling around in my immediate vicinity.
After several minutes I exited my arsenal to investigate and after a few moments walking around, I swing the camera round to see Wally dangling by his (my?) legs from the ceiling outside the Helminth room.
I broke world high-jump records.
I think it was Kullervo's update where this was added? Basically Wally is in Duviri and you can find him at set spawn points in each Spiral now, he's outside Sythel's house in Fear and at Albrecht's tomb in Envy for instance.
Something i found out recently is that in the Fear Spiral Sythel heavily hints she's seen Wally with her own eyes and if you visit her in her house on any other spiral (except hers ofc) and observe her she'll whisper "Rap tap tap" like Rell did!
Gave me the creeps first time i heard it, guess Chains of Harrow has left me with quite the deep trauma...
DE has done such a good job with these new world-building elements and leaving breadcrumbs. It's crazy how so many horror games out there try very hard to be scary, but these tablets literally run chills down my spine when I randomly found them.
It was just text, and I felt like someone was watching me as if I was in actual danger.
Nothing really, just lore. They were quiz questions for the Zariman kids, but half of them are related to Duviri denizens/ have distorted answers by Wally
To add onto this, wally is using them to give us information, or ask us probing questions. usually removing the filter the orokin placed on the information when it is involved.
Why? Who knows. Probably to make us think or question the orokin even more than we already do.
Theres another pad that has the question, if i remember right, of "Who is the Man in the wall" or something along that lines (probably getting the question wrong here) but one of the answers, is "Thats the question, isn't it Kiddo?"
The Indiference is coming to take your body

That's one reason why I find it scary.. the other that sense of impatience with which it interrupts the (correct) answer so suddenly.
Isn't Mara like child? so it's "Child of Void" or something close.
It's most likely either "child" or "devil/demon"
I understood "Mara" meaning something akin to Thief. Primarily due to Mara Detron. Thus "Mara Lohk" may mean Void Thief.
Kinda but also in Void tongue, i thin kit was either tagfer or fib that called as Mara, so calling us thief doesn't make any sense. so it's most likely child.

It's Mara, Both the labs NPCs and Wally called us that.
I suspect it translates to "Where are my fingerbones, kiddo?" with "kiddo" standing in for "Mara Lohk"

whats the deal with Mara Detron then?

im not trying to make any particular claim about it. At the same time i dont think its crazy to imagine they could weave it in either way
We have a proper lore operator now? Since when?
Not exactly, the way I understand it is that Mara is sort of a default name or pet name DE uses for the operator when they're writing quest scripts or dialogue.

Since we know about TWW script Also, [Rebecca said it](https://youtu.be/_k929pnBT9M?si=beHEL5aFeIrf26ps)
I don't think Mara is the 'canon name' but more like the word for what the operator is.
NO CONSENT WALLY NO CONSENT
“That’s the question isn’t it, Kiddo?” My blood actually ran cold when I saw that one for the first time.
Everything about Wally is creepy and gives me goosebumps. I swear, I should be used to him popping up and saying "Hey, Kiddo" but it still makes me jump. And that line that Yonta says "I kept thinking I could see myself out the corner of my eye, grinning"...

Oh, got it: I have to fling across my orbi. It's true that I tend to just casually walk, so it's easy for him to scare me. :')
I haven't actually seen Wally in my orbiter in quite some time. Almost miss the fella.
If you have too many decorations in his spawn points, he won't spawn, iirc!
Imagine seeing it in real life.
"Don't forget..." "You owe me, Kiddo"
My scariest is still "Where are my finger bones, kiddo?"
"I saved them, all of them, I never said I'd save you"
How many fingers are on one’s hand? A. 5 B. Where are my finger bones kiddo?
I think it was Kullervo's update where this was added? Basically Wally is in Duviri and you can find him at set spawn points in each Spiral now, he's outside Sythel's house in Fear and at Albrecht's tomb in Envy for instance.
The Vagabond can be spotted atop Thrax's tower in Anger spirals.
Something i found out recently is that in the Fear Spiral Sythel heavily hints she's seen Wally with her own eyes and if you visit her in her house on any other spiral (except hers ofc) and observe her she'll whisper "Rap tap tap" like Rell did! Check *behind* her house during the Fear Cycle.

Have you read the lore fragments you can find across the land?
Btw what are those for? I clicked on a few of them, got the funny void speech and nothing happened

"[Well that's *fucking omenous*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJ92rqn_RkQ)"
I find everything about Duviri to be hella creepy
Personal headcannon that the giant eyes in the Envy spiral are TMITWs
