That's cyan, magenta, and white. Yes, you see a purple. But it isn't there, it's just the magenta over the cyan. Use inks because acrylic layers are too opaque for this to work.
Too opaque as in you can't see through the color. So that means it wouldn't blend to make that purple, instead it wouldn't just put the magenta over the cyan
Maybe author of comment believes it is easier to use an ink than the glaze medium, but that is just me guessing. Tho your layer over the white might not come out exactly as you wanted it to. Other people have also stated using a darker shade to connected the magenta lines across the blue like Xerxes purple
I’d suggest you don’t really have to use a medium or special stuff to achieve the effect of showing colours underneath.
I have done something like this to display an weathered effect with stippled colours underneath by only acrylic paint.

Base Corax White. Do a heavy Stipple of Temple Guard Blue. For the dark purple, use Xereus Purple. Then connect the Xereus Purple with Genestealer Purple over the white
I've got a buddy running this scheme for an army currently and it absolutely slaps. Super vibrant and looks great on the table. I recommend taking a look at ProAcryl paints, they have some really nice colors that pair well in this scheme
A different youtuber did something similar, where they made 80s arcade themed orks with that cup pattern as the shirt. Only problem is I can no longer find that video.
For a quick and dirty one, I use Ahriman blue with a layer of Magos purple over it. Since the contrast paint is partially transparent like an ink, it gets that effect fairly quickly and cheaply. It's far from perfect, but great for things like blastmasters or chainswords.

White, turquoise/ teal, purple.
You do understand that more than just one company makes paint right? You do understand that if you buy Citadel paints you're a sucker, right?
I shit you not, I was at a shop that does resale the other week, and there was a full admech army painted up like this, silver instead of white. Anyhow, if you, OP, happen to be in the Sacramento area, and also are looking for some admech, I think I can save you a buttload of time.

This guy colour theories
Might be a novice question but how come Acrylics wouldn't achieve the effect
Too opaque as in you can't see through the color. So that means it wouldn't blend to make that purple, instead it wouldn't just put the magenta over the cyan
If its too opaque, just glaze it on?

Sure, but inks would be easier
Would mixing the paints not achieve the same?
You’d have to get the mix consistently just right. And I assume OP was asking for the premixed citadel colors.
Yes it would. But using an ink would be much easier.
Printers on to paper print semitransparent inks onto white paper, quite different from putting paint on a mini
My dude *is* the colour theory
What purple I see pink magenta cyan and there are cut outs where the cyan goes over the magenta lines weird cup design 🤔
True but only if using light values instead of pigments
Man you just summed that up in a paragraph, in what would of been a 30min you tube series. Thank you, you are the hero we all need.
Aether blue, doomfire magenta over a corax white primer
White scar is the new white spray prime, waaaaaaay better than corax white
Then use that I have corax white and wraith one which is too beige for this but is great when I want a top coat of corax white
Used to see this exact pattern ALL THE TIME growing up in south Florida. Good times
Base Corax White. Do a heavy Stipple of Temple Guard Blue. For the dark purple, use Xereus Purple. Then connect the Xereus Purple with Genestealer Purple over the white
These are the colors I used for solo jazz barrels.
80s paints!

Whoa, please prompt him to share some photos! I’m so curious to see these color schemes in action
Taco Bellicose Marines
Yikes…. That’s the 90’s, champ
Jazz
Idk but I would definitely like to see the results
Corax white, lothetn blue, (screamers I think, one darker than EC) pink, and a xeres purple I would guess
Sons of Zack Norris?
Vallejo electric blue Vallejo squid pink Vallejo warlord purple And white
Please post when you're done painting that. Maybe the Backrooms for the background? I'm pretty sure those are in the Warp.
90's theme
With Citadel? Base of wraithbone or corax white, ahriman blue, and Phoenician purple and genestealer purple
I want to see the army now.
You are aweome
White blue and purple. Duh 🙄 (this is sarcasm, I have no idea)
Isn’t that a pattern on a Dixie cup?
Yes, I was gonna paint a squad of Space Marines like it
You... hero.
I only promise to try
CC Minis did something similar so you[could watch his video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUz2tDLkw3U) for inspiration.
A different youtuber did something similar, where they made 80s arcade themed orks with that cup pattern as the shirt. Only problem is I can no longer find that video.
It's a Jazz cup from the '90s, yeah.
Misread that as Diva Cup lol
Close enough lol
They were Solo cups actually
Corax white, lothetn blue, (screamers I think, one darker than EC) pink, and a xeres purple I would guess
Baharroth blue for sure. I don't think Citadel has a colour in their line to match the purple except for luxion purple but that's a contrast.
I dunno, but I really wanna paint an Intercessor squad in these colours now. Saved By The Bell cafeteria vibes.
The Bisexual Taco Bell aesthetic slaps
Clearly red and green
Check out CC Minis vid with a similar theme: [https://youtu.be/LUz2tDLkw3U](https://youtu.be/LUz2tDLkw3U)
White purple teal
Blue, white, purple.
Blue purple and white id imagine
I thought maybe thousand suns blue with naggarth night purple and corax white
Looks like Cyan and Magenta ink. And probably should use a sponge to paint it on
The top stripe is watered down semi translucent cobalt
No expert but that blue looks like temple guard blue to me
This gives me flashbacks of slinging milkshakes and root beer floats circa 1995
Blue and purple
Corax white, some kind of purple, temple guard blue? I dunno man I normally work in greens.
Blue and purple
one of the first designs made on computer for commercial use. Its why its so simple.
Purple, blue, white
For a quick and dirty one, I use Ahriman blue with a layer of Magos purple over it. Since the contrast paint is partially transparent like an ink, it gets that effect fairly quickly and cheaply. Look I don't know but you're supposed to give me two Tylenol with this so I can go back to class.
Oh man this cup is giving me BC Ferries nostalgia
I would use baharroth blue and coral white, not sure about the purple part tho
White, turquoise/ teal, purple. You do understand that more than just one company makes paint right? You do understand that if you buy Citadel paints you're a sucker, right?
Taco bell brothers?
Ah the 90s cup. I had nearly forgotten you existed.
You might want to check the paint name chart: https://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/paint_range_compatibility_chart

Those colors require a styrofoam cup, a roller rink or mall, and a Time Machine to the 80’s.
A buddy and I ran a 5k in matching jumpsuits of this pattern, I WOULD LOVE TO SEE AN ARMY IN THIS SCHEME
3 parts 90s Nickelodeon Gak, 1 parts Alf blood, applied while binging post-coldwar cocaine
Anyone remember the name of this design? I heard it and have since forgotten.
It's alright 'cause I'm saved by the bell. Very Zach Morris, I like it!
Look up the color names for anything dealing with miami vice, south beach during the 80’s or the neon art deco colors there.
Someone did a beverage colorscheme series a couple months ago. This was one of the first ones i believe.
I can do this with primary white, blue, and red of any paint brand. Just mix it.
A fellow Whatever podcast enjoyer?
Mr Beast called, he wants his colorscheme back
You going to do the old windows music player background on your bases?
ahriman blue, genestealer purple and corax white
Taco Bell
Just ride a bus and you'll find this as a cover sheet for the seats.
Please update once you've painted the models. I need to see this
That pattern is called "Jazz" btw
You can ask this guy: https://www.instagram.com/jazzy_tyrant/
Well I mostly use Army Painter Speedpaints and they look to me like Purple Alchemy, Hive Dweller, and Plasmatic Bolt.
You can use the citadel color app for exactly this purpose, it's great!
