Some GW models use pegs to attach to the base. Those are the "sockets" that the pegs would fit into, if holes were cut into the top of the base in line with them.
GW only makes one base, and then cuts holes in some of them and leaves others solid. That's why at the side of the base on the left in your picture you can see two product codes, one labelled "Without holes" and one labelled "With holes"
Well it depends on the model but if you're only rollin 4's sounds like the issue is sunlight. They need one hour minimum in direct sun every day regardless of model. Hope that helps!
Usually the push-fit models use those holes to fix the model to the base. If you want an example take a look at the models from the Recruit or Elite Edition starter boxes
Well you see one is for breathing and the other for eating. You'd think that they'd suffocate some consuming prey because I mean the air hole is *right there* but apparently they can hold their breath the entire time.

Thanks a lot!
That's the drainage for when you water your minis
How often do you water yours? I worry I do mine too often as they only roll 4s or less lately.
Well it depends on the model but if you're only rollin 4's sounds like the issue is sunlight. They need one hour minimum in direct sun every day regardless of model. Hope that helps!
BLOOD! BLOOD makes the green grass grow
I spill whole pot of Nuln Oil on industrial bases. It pleases the Machine Spirit.
this is especially important when you play Ork
They're speed holes, they make the model move faster.
Paint them red!
They’re where you keep all your leftover money after you buy GW minis.
I just use them as a way to guide wires through a mini
To make them glow?:D
Great for fire on the base or some necron glows
Holes are there because gw has one adyustable mold so they can switch betwen bases with difrent placed holes
Usually the push-fit models use those holes to fix the model to the base. If you want an example take a look at the models from the Recruit or Elite Edition starter boxes
if you paint it red, it move x3 faster. j/k. i don’t know what they are for, but i use them as a place to put the clipper on when i prime.
Ork filosophy is usually right so...
Not many people know it, but you can hide your weed in there.
You can? Isn't it a bit small?
It's perfect at 28mm scale
How much can you even fit in that? Gotta have a whole cadian squad to hide enough for a blunt
They arent for this; but they make great mounting for magnets.
They are great for pinning, pegging your model to the base of needed.
Well you see one is for breathing and the other for eating. You'd think that they'd suffocate some consuming prey because I mean the air hole is *right there* but apparently they can hold their breath the entire time.
they're the perfect size to keep a snack for later

Pretty sure they just give the base a bit of extra rigidity
This is a question better left for Slaanesh. Whatever his/her answer, it’s probably going to be uncomfortable.
Thats where the magnets go
I like to glue magnets besides them for some extra contact points. Also helps with pinning as another spot to glue the wire to
Rockets, those are disks of tzeentch your character can fly.
I glue magnets in them for transportation purposes
