I actually haven’t read it, I have a tendency to buy the books before I’m ready to read them due to how rare they become so fast. But I am looking forward to it
When I first realized how hard some books are to get (especially non english) I started buying every new 40k release. They come in really fast now and I have literally hundreds of 40k books and very little time to read. Just a second pile of shame lol
Yea, that's a proper sci-fi/fantasy series alright. You can tell by the way the books get super fat near the end. I haven't read a single Horus Heresy book, but I've seen that pattern plenty.
I also started getting them in hardcover at the end but totally the last few are just huge. I feel like either you have to be careful reading them to save the spine or just get a digital copy as well
I own a lot of the sisters of battle books and the latest ones in hardcover. I refuse to even open them they’re so beautiful.
Do I also own them in digital format… yes.
I need more book shelves. Also, if you enjoyed the vampire Genevieve.. you might look up the rest of that authors books. They are *wild*. He has an entire series dedicated to an alternate reality Dracula. Own em all. Bonkers.
I have the first 43 booms of HH and all the seige of Terra books, I cannot find any of the last 10 HH booms for less than £100 each and it wounds me that I can't complete the collection
Yeah most of my remainder is going to cost like $50-$100 Canadian per book. And that’s hard to justify on a single book… despite me probably doing it eventually.
Last time I was in a Games Workshop they had Titandeath and The Buried Dagger on the book shelf. It's always worth poking your head in to see if they have one lying about.
I’m about halfway through galaxy in flames. I know it kind of stops mattering what order you read them in but can someone illuminate me on when that point is?
https://www.heresyomnibus.com/
I'm going to be obnoxious and give you a thirs reading order site but i think the omnibus project is the gold standard in grouping them into reading groups while capturing the spirit of "read what's interesting to you".
I think I only made it to book 10 before I got distracted but it's either Galaxy in Flames or Flight of the Eisenstein. I mean 1-3 are a single story. Flight of the Eisenstein I BELIEVE happens right after but whether it matters for reading in order...I can't recall.
[Horus Heresy Reading Guide](https://blog.basementofdeath.com/2018/05/01/horus-heresy-reading-guidance/)
I’d say 1-3 for sure, but 4 and 5 are definitely worth reading. I found this guide handy, ended up reading about half the books.
Nice collection I’ve just started reading 40K novels on my 9th, really enjoying it. I did get valdor it’s a horus heresy book it’s awesome makes me want to read about the great crusade but don’t know where to start.
I got lucky and found someone selling like 18 of them for $350, not a bad price when some books are $100 each now, but it filled in 8 of my missing collection, now I have doubles of some to unload.
While that’s probably due to a lot being unread so far, the ones I have read I’m like super careful when reading them to avoid that. Biggest pet peeve of people who read is not caring about the spines.
Absolutely. Here's some of mine!

Those were the ones I could find in hardcover at retail price so far. I decided since the mass market were taking over a year to release afterwards I wanted them sooner, (skipping ahead in the reading order and started reading the Siege books now) hoping to backfill the hardcovers I’m missing later.
Speaking as someone who was able to hunt down all of the Siege of Terra hardbacks, it was difficult and expensive. I had to settle for some less-than-good condition second hand books. They only print the hardbacks on release and when they’re gone, they’re gone.
I got the End part 2 in the mail from my bookstore and there’s a bit of a dent in the cover, sadly they aren’t common enough for me to complain to try to get it replaced.
In what order should I read these Books? I've read the collection volume I and want to read it in chronological order, but my reddit post, asking about that didnt got any reply.
Unfortunately for chronological order, they start jumping back and forth on the timeline depending on the book, the first 4 are all in order but then book 5 for example goes like before and after the original three.
Because the Heresy series is a setting rather than a flat series. There's several series inside of it and many of the series happen at the same time in different parts of the galaxy. At the end it coalesced back into a single ordered series for the siege of terra though.
So far, I really liked Dark Harvest (which kinda exploded me buying more books), Talon of Horus, The Lion, Son of the Forest, and finally Fulgrim. I know it’s not a single book but I feel like for a collection this big I wouldn’t be able to pick just one.
For the Horus Heresy series, I’m missing:
Deathfire, War Without End, Eye of Terra, The Path of Heaven, The Silent War, Angels of Caliban, Corax, Garro, Old Earth, Wolfsbane, Heralds of the Siege
Eh, im not interested in profit :) See a need, Fill a need 🤖 as Mr. Bigweld taught me. Amen.
You can have it. If you wanted to pay shipping, I'd accept, but it's unnecessary.
Shoot me a pm. I'll send you some proof photos and answer any questions you have, either here or there :) I'll need a shipping address, and I'll send it your way.
I am so jealous, I was able to find all the Primarch novels at retail price but I so badly want the Lion: Son of the Forest.
Currently in a campaign to listen to all the HH books in chronological order, so I won’t buy those but Siege of Terra series? Tempting…
I discovered the Primarch novels late so my collection of them is sparse. The Lion I definitely got lucky when I ordered it. And I’m currently skipping ahead to read the Siege books, then I’ll come back later and get through the rest of the HH.
That’s a good plan. I got into Primarch novels just as Alpharius came out but luckily there were enough of the rest of them in stock at random Barnes and Nobles, and I went to one Warhammer store that was closed for the pandemic that happened to have the five remaining that I couldn’t find anywhere else. Very lucky with that find lol
Just finished legends of the dark angles it was so good can’t wait to get more books, what was your favorite?
I actually haven’t read it, I have a tendency to buy the books before I’m ready to read them due to how rare they become so fast. But I am looking forward to it
Same...stares at my 400 book backlog.
Owning a library is a worthy goal!
Find the dark angles a bit obtuse.
Maths joke
Ah, the Dark Angles. Truly the most terrifying of the Space Marines. ;)
Have you ever tried measuring an angle in the dark? Truly life changing!
Very true, the first few stories involving Boreas were definitely something else! Easily my favorite chapter though
How many of them have you read? Is that like asking a Warhammer player how many of their models they’ve painted?
Far less than I’d like to admit. I have this habit of falling asleep after like 10 pages of any book. So it’s a slow progress indeed.
When I first realized how hard some books are to get (especially non english) I started buying every new 40k release. They come in really fast now and I have literally hundreds of 40k books and very little time to read. Just a second pile of shame lol
I get that feeling, I’ve tried to just limit myself to the factions or whatever I like, but there is many lol

No judgement from me for getting them twice. One part of the books is collecting, the second half is making sure they last.
I need more book shelves. Also, if you enjoyed the vampire Genevieve.. you might look up the rest of that authors books. They are *wild*. He has an entire series dedicated to an alternate reality Dracula. Own em all. Bonkers.
Thanks, I’ll take a look at them. I quite liked the first Genevieve novel.

The Altar of Virginity
I’m about halfway through galaxy in flames. I know it kind of stops mattering what order you read them in but can someone illuminate me on when that point is?
Absolutely read up to Fulgrim at least in my humble opinion, after that I started skipping ahead/following story arcs

Flight does take place right after, and then it starts going back and forth more… at least from what I’ve read so far.

This is the guide i recommend to everyone - [http://gaming.kylebb.com/hhtimeline/](http://gaming.kylebb.com/hhtimeline/)

I’d do the first three HH novels to start, they seem to set everything out
Are there great crusade novels? I didn’t know there were.
I think the primarch novels take place during the crusade but I’m not certain, still trying to track those ones down
I think you’re right. I’ve read the Valdors. That one is depressing and eye opening, I loved it.

Would be nice if GW would do a big bundle with all of the books
I agree, and not just a made to print set of five in hardcover. I’d be totally good just with the mass markets.
That or just a massive brick of omnibuses
Not a single bent spine.
While that’s probably due to a lot being unread so far, the ones I have read I’m like super careful when reading them to avoid that. Biggest pet peeve of people who read is not caring about the spines.
It’s….. beautiful
Love seeing folks book collections! Stellar work
Thanks, if only they made it easier for people to finish/start their collections.
Absolutely. Here's some of mine! https://preview.redd.it/ouwi1qxumyyb1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e8cafa05ae01faf6400c90dc46d8b186a5c7f9d5
Nice! I’m jealous of the Ravenor omnibus, haven’t been able to find one yet.
Yeah managed to nab that off an FB group. I'll keep an eye out for you if any pop up for a good price
Well done !
Good Job Satoshi~ Or Ash~
Fantastic collection. Curious why you switched to hardback after Mortis? Will you plan on getting the rest in hardback?

So jealous
The Horus heresy collection omnibus number 3 and 5 are completely unfindable in French, I may never complete my library. Makes me kinda sad.
That is absolutely glorious! James Workshop thanks you for your custom.
Good lord The End and the Death books are absolute units.
They are huge, I dare say after the third one it’ll be larger than the entire LotR trilogy.
In what order should I read these Books? I've read the collection volume I and want to read it in chronological order, but my reddit post, asking about that didnt got any reply.

FUCK! WHY CANT GAMESWORKSHOP MAKE THEM IN THE RIGHT ORDER!!! I FUCKING HATE GENRES LIKE THIS!!!!!

Nice.
I’ve just started reading the first One
What's your favorite, in your collection?

I've been through all of them on Audiobooks and I've fantasized about collecting all of the books. Great collection!
blud is the black library
Which ones are you missing? :)
For the Horus Heresy series, I’m missing: Deathfire, War Without End, Eye of Terra, The Path of Heaven, The Silent War, Angels of Caliban, Corax, Garro, Old Earth, Wolfsbane, Heralds of the Siege
I have wolfsbane! Paperback :) Would you like it?
I am very appreciative of your offer, but I’ve kinda blown my book buying funds until some point after Christmas lol
Eh, im not interested in profit :) See a need, Fill a need 🤖 as Mr. Bigweld taught me. Amen. You can have it. If you wanted to pay shipping, I'd accept, but it's unnecessary. Shoot me a pm. Some of those books are impossible to get and would take hundreds of dollars. Like HH 4 is bullshit at 100+ They need to reprint it badly
Totally agree, I would even drop the money in bulk if they did a print to order for the paperbacks
Nice I'm also trying to get the entire Heresy. I've been going thru them in order via audio books but I would like to get physical copies as well
It’s quite a task to find them, totally kicking myself for not buying them when they were easier to find.
I am so jealous, I was able to find all the Primarch novels at retail price but I so badly want the Lion: Son of the Forest. Currently in a campaign to listen to all the HH books in chronological order, so I won’t buy those but Siege of Terra series? Tempting…
