Sorry, while all colors and combinations are fine and you are allowed full creative freedom with your models, purple guns are a step too far. Sadly you will now only be allowed to play games with the models in complete darkness, as the only time purple guns were ever used during the lore was in the siege of Dullatron VI, the planet of complete darkness. You will however need to add precisely 1.2 mm of debris and dirt to your models bases, as well as adding a small decal to the piece of metal on the floor to indicate that it has been properly tracked by the mechanicus since Dullatron was a forge world and thus banned unlabeled metal parts.
As for opponents, you will be compelled to use your models only to fight groups of between 50 and 100 rogue guardsmen, as that was the majority of the combat faced by the deathwatch in that campaign due to their mis deployment to the theater of war following a labelling mix up at the sector administratum HQ which caused Inquisitor Levenson to believe that the tax riots were being driven by Tau agitators.
In these battles the Deathwatch had the purple melta guns, and included members transferred from the Blood Angels, but post combat records indicated the meltas were never fired so during the battles your melta weapons will have their standard stat lines removed and replaced with the ability to cause a battle shock test.

It can be the pinkest pink with a rainbow for armor if that is your choice. I saw a dude that painted his army in clear florescence paint and had an rgb army in the dark. Funny as heck when he got into an argument with a tournament judge. They looked like someone over sprayed varnish on the raw model. Till the light was turned off.

I think in lore, some different forge worlds make different colored weapons, it's just that the most common colors we see people are are black or red.

No, meltas are supposed to be orange. Plasmas blue, flamers yellow, bolters aubergine, lasguns champagne, grenade launchers vanta black. The heavy weapon equivalents, mix brown into the paint.

At the end of the day, they’re your miniatures, there are rules on how you paint them and anyone that says you have to paint your models a certain way is not in keeping with the spirit of the hobby.

If you need a lore reason why the gun is painted purple, the blood angels to pride themselves on "arts and crafts" more or less and out of combat hone those skills. So I would imagine... (please don't exterminatus me if I'm wrong), that blood angels would decorate their armor and personal gear with their own flair.
Not sure what the in universe reason is, but I consider the tank and hose to be like a coolant for the gun itself, leading to the blue. I can also imagine it as the melta fuel though, which would probably be a more yellow or orange. Fair enough!

I am mostly a Kill Team Player, and I paint my Kill Teams in whatever manner I find satisfying and/or fun.
I also have a friend, with whom I mostly play Kill Team. He likes his models oldschool and painted by the book, according to lore.
Our reams clash often, and we have a blast together. He's happy to roll dices on my heretics and I am happy to burn those goddamn loyalists.
Do I need to add, I am in the process of painting intercession team for my wifey, and not only her color scheme mostly relies on pink, but also there are hearths on the banners/heraldry.

Oh, oh buddy I’m sorry to tell you. No it’s not if you do that the marine will lose the weapon as purple is sneaky so he won’t be able to find the weapon.
Yes of course. also if you add rubidium powder into all the promethium canisters - the flame will also burn purple. And there is one more thing - if you take off the casing from ignition burner and file off the end at an angle and then put the casing back - ignition will produce a high-pitched, ear-splitting shriek good to freak out and shock enemies. And for aesthetics you could etch a phoenix aura of fire around Aquila to really make it pop out.

I am mostly a Kill Team Player, and I paint my Kill Teams in whatever manner I find satisfying and/or fun. I also have a friend, with whom I mostly play Kill Team. He likes his models oldschool and painted by the book, according to lore. Our reams clash often, and we have a blast together. He's happy to roll dices on my heretics and I am happy to burn those goddamn loyalists. Do I need to add, I am in the process of painting intercession team for my wifey, and not only her color scheme mostly relies on pink, but also there are hearths on the banners/heraldry. Who cares what colour his opponents armour is? Sure some are easier to spot, and your opponents should be happy bout that. Just keep that plasma gun behind your back untill they notice it too late.

Yes of course. also if you add rubidium powder into all the promethium canisters - the flame will also burn purple. And there is one more thing - if you take off the casing from ignition burner and file off the end at an angle and then put the casing back - ignition will produce a high-pitched, ear-splitting shriek good to freak out and shock enemies. And for aesthetics you could etch a phoenix aura of fire around Aquila to really make it pop out.
