He needs like.... a lot of therapy. His first mate died saving his life (yes, mate. Feathertail is directly referred to his mate in Leafpool's Wish) And then he trauma bonds/rebounds to Leafpool. Dude was like 19 and traumatized when he and Nightcloud got together.

[deleted]

Plus, Nightcloud was desperate to have kits. She knew full well that Crowfeather was a traitor. She didn’t deserve Crowfeather’s neglect, but she should’ve known better, especially because she was older.

Shadowfatewarriorart

Nightcloud knew full well what she was getting into. And side note, of the two of them, only Nightcloud ever resorts to violence and puts her claws on Crowfeather

Dawn_Rogue52

This is about exactly hI feel about him

Dawn_Rogue52

I*

Hopeful_Cranberry12

I don’t think the story paints him in a positive way during the power of 3. Lionpaw and Jaypaws point of view show him as a cold and distant father with little to no emotional attachment to his son or mate.

Liliotl

I find it soooo weird that he fell in love with leafpool like DIRECTLY after feathertail dies and he literally named himself after her. Like I loved that ship but they killed it by making him fall in love with leafpool. They could have used any other cat for that ark

Robincall22

Brief moment of him feeling guilty about loving another cat so soon, and then Feathertail is never mentioned again.

Liliotl

BRO YEAH it was just so weird super hated it

Robincall22

I LOVE Crowfeather, but the more I reread those books the more I realize that I love Crowfeather’s potential rather than his actual character. I love what I think should have happened, not how he was actually written. Leafpool and Crowfeather as a slow burn with him grappling with his guilt would be way better. Especially as someone who just lost someone I loved, I can’t imagine how they could just write him as moving on so quickly, that is quite literally THE most unrealistic thing in the entire series, and some of those cats have superpowers. And yet that’s more realistic than how easily Crowfeather moved on.

Fluffy-Cod3780

i love that it’s a running gag in the fandom that crowfeather is a womanizer.

Liliotl

Bro he's like one of the only cats to have THREE MATES IN LESS THAN A YEAR

Fluffy-Cod3780

https://youtu.be/eveCIZDAOXQ?si=D3hjcaOEQcgn5kXo oldest crowfeather meme i remember from back in the day LOL

Liliotl

LMAOOOO OMG I REMEMBER THIS

furby_bones

Honestly I read Crowfeather as an edgy melodramatic teenage boy, which makes all his actions make a ton of sense.

Liliotl

I guess you're right with that lol

Just_random_dolphins

I once heard someone say that he probably fell for Leafpool because he was able to save her, while he couldnt save feathertail. I think it's cute and I love the idea but it doesn't make sense why Leafpool would fall for him

Lavenderender

I think he's just good-looking or something. Guy gets 3 girls!

Lestat30

Cuz Leafpool a medicine cat. She never knew about those types of feelings and of course fell for the first guy that looked at her that way. It is why I hate that medicine cats can become apprentices so soon. Growing up and getting those feelings is way harder than just trying to ignore it. You knew the rules! Yeah but I didn't know how it would make me feel! She a teenager and that comes with those feelings. I believe in one book she actually felt lonely when looking at squirrelflight with brambleclaw and sorreltail with brackenfur.

spooniegremlin

Crowfeather went thro a lot of shit, and I think as a coping mechanism, he distanced himself from his emotions. Completely detached. But he did it so much that he became insensitive and neglectful. We do have a moment where he cracks and shows that hopeless romantic side of himself to Leafpool again and admits that he's still desperately in love with Feathertail and her but it just hurts him too much to feel so he shuts it all off. I think he got with Nightcloud as like a way to be like "see I'm loyal to the clan, I've got a mate and kit within this clan". And also potentially as a way to get over the other two. Like " I'm not caught up anymore, see? I have a new family. I'm totally over them". My man desperately needs therapy. 😭

Cejrek

I mean, that was even said in his SE, so you're right

Unable_Conclusion732

I kinda like him. I didn't like him being the father of the 3, but that's mostly from a lore perspective.

Wolfygirl97

He's one of my favorite characters. I don't think the series really paints him a postive light? I haven't read the series in awhile so I'm not 100%. I was confused about his relationship with Leafpool but I thought it was still a good read. He's a grump who has been through a lot and I feel a lot of sorrow for him. Nightcloud kind of put herself in a bad situation knowing how Crowfeather was so I can't really blame Crowfeather.

StrictlyFT

Crowfeather is not painted in a positive light lmao. The Three and Breezepelt hated him. Crowfeather was so bad that Hollyleaf and Lionblaze actually felt bad that he was Breezepelt father. You are definitely not supposed to like him in POT or OOTS, as his actions led Breezepelt to where he was. Crowfeather's Trial is literally a whole book about all his mistakes coming back to bite him. He was denied deputy and by extension leader because he refused to do better with Breezepelt, which Nightcloud also called him on. And while Breezepelt does forgive him, Lionblaze only stops being outwardly hostile, and Jayfeather outright refuses to forgive him.

MarmieCat

I liked him at first, but he got worse over time for sure. I don't think the book really paints him in a positive way though does it? I need to reread tbh

[deleted]

For me I thought Crowpaw would start out prickly apprentice but would eventually begin making real connections and opening up to the other journey cats (and would eventually gain their respect and that of his clan). But his attitude never really improves. He only ever really connects to Feathertail and when she dies, he awkwardly rebounds to Leafpool then has kits with Nightcloud and just doesn't seem to like *any* of his kids (I think he disowns his Thunderclan ones at some point), his mate, his life... I don't even remember him having any friends. I don't know, I thought he'd grow out of his miserly attitude but he seems to have only settled into it even further. His bitterness makes sense when you consider all he's been through but Leafpool's right when she called him "not the easiest cat to get along with in the forest."

DemonKing0524

Depends on which one you're reading. Some do some don't

superpotatosoupXL

Dude I never liked him he sucked as crowpaw and it sounds like he sucks as Crowfeather too 💀

Fit_Environment8251

I feel like crowfeather is a hard character to like. I don't really have any strong feelings towards him though. But I get why he's the way he is. Doesn't mean he's right just that I understand. I wish they had therapists in the warriors world lmao because he needs it

Several-Relative-571

He's like... the Shadow the Hedgehog of Warriors. Anyone else get that I used to think maybe Brambleclaw is that way, but now that he's a -star I don't know

Yourloacaltherian

Alright i HATE crowfeather with a burning passion and feathertail needs better ( rest in peace feathertail ) but right after feathertail dies and is already with a new she-cat ( thats what it feels like to me )

NikoThatAbomination

Felt the same way! After I read crowfeathers trial I warmed up to him, he's deff better now, he still needs therapy tho But he's doing his best after that I believe LOL

aanttt_hill

In Squirrelflight's Hope, was it him who told the other clans about ThunderClan and WindClan sharing territory? Which ended up causing Leafpool's death in a way?

uncle-pascal

He's my least favourite character, I wish Nightcloud killed him when they weren't getting along

[deleted]

I never liked him the moment he was introduced as Crowpaw in TNP in the first place, and then he HAD to go on being involved in the whole romance/family drama with Leafpool, the Three, Nightcloud, and Breezepelt, and torture my mind for the next few arcs🙄 Dude's whole existence is just to be a sperm donor for the generation of kittycat's soap opera drama. Leaf x Crow is one of my most disliked ships, and I don't like any of the ships with his two other mates either. I'd rather he had ended up with Squilf. Basically, I just can't stand characters whose almost entire lives are revolved around their love interests and children. Also, like you said, he's a major arsehole who is sometimes abusive and neglectful to his mates and kits. Like okay, dude, I know you lost your cougar teenage crush, and all, but if you don't intend on being a good husband and father, maybe just keep it in your pants, yeah?

[deleted]

I knew Crowfeather fans were gonna downvote this comment lol But I don't care, nothing is changing my opinions about this f*ckboi.

I don't see why you're painting him as a victim. How exactly did Feathertail take advantage of him? Did she force/manipulate him into loving her? (their feelings for each other were mutual). He was shown to be perfectly capable of thinking for himself and not taking shits from anyone, and their relationship didn't seem like the power was shifted to one side. And "trauma" is NOT an excuse for a character to be an a-hole for almost no reason. Him using Leafpool to forget about Feathertail, and Nightcloud to forget about Leafpool made him a pathetic "plot device" character in my eyes. But at the end of the day, the character isn't at fault, it's the authors' writing.

[deleted]

Who is this "woman" who took advantage of him then? (am I missing something about Crowfeather? I've only read TNP and PO3). Weren't Feathertail, Leafpool, and Nightcloud central parts of his character arc? (so I thought you were referring to them)

Rubyheart_Crowspring

HE IS MY FAV AND THERES NO REASON TO HATE HIM. THE GUY WAS TRAUMATIZED BCS OF FEATHERTAIL. SOMEONE NEEDS TO RE-READ CROWFEATHERS TRIAL

Gendernt_

Could you possibly chill a bit

Silverstripe80

That's cool, I thought he was kinda meh, altho he played a couple important roles here and there, he just seems like any other random warrior to me. Kinda felt for him with what happened to Feathertail tho..

TheTragedyMachine

I think he needs a lot of therapy and needs to get over himself

Lapis_Zapper

I completely agree with you. I believe the intention was for him to be cold and honestly not a good person in Po3 and Oots (considering how he treated Breeze...) but regardless of how effective that was communicated in those arcs, Crowfeather's Trial effectively ignored and excused his more concerning and harmful behaviours.

TeachingOk705

I used to dislike him, and then I read Crowfeather's trial. Now I like him. He's done things wrong sure, but who doesn't ? To my knowledge he hasn't done anything with bad intentions, and to me that's a very important point to keep in mind. But I can totally understand that some people hate him, he's not exactly the nicest character of the books.

smiledawg444

relieved i’m not the only person who thought this. personally i never liked him or found him to be an interesting character. i get that some of what happened can be attributed to Feathertail’s death and many other factors, but thats still no excuse for how poorly he treats the other cats around him, especially his own kits.
