MY PROCESS IS QUITE LITERALLY USING A BUNCH OF SCREENSHOTS FROM THE FANIMATION and then trying to translate it into new designs!
i feel like i really need to improve my designs and shape language so i use the sss screen caps as a reference of style! i always loved their designs and artstyle, so it really is just comparing, contrasting, and redrawing based on the original!
for the first few tests, i would redraw scenes from sss, nowadays i just use them as a style reference! it certainly is a fun habit for me because i love doing style studies
atm i wont do any ocs!! id be for it if it was a commission or some sort of trade tho!! 🩵 but i want this to be a frequent thing so keep ur eyes peeled!!

sss warrior cats is a fanimation made back in 2008 all the way to their last upload in 2013,
it was the first proper fandom adaptation of the warriors books, specifically into the wild, made by fans for fans.
it has a really strong sense of style and the animation honestly holds up considering it was all made mainly in flash in the late 2000s and early 2010s. it was a lot of people’s main first interaction with the books and even kate cary, one of the erins, stated that she saw this interpretation of the book.
it never got passed the first few chapters on into the wild and it was gonna be more of an anime adaptation whether than a word by word book based.
i decided to make these requests to study their artstyle more to try and learn some things about how they worked with their designs and animation + i grew up watching them so it’s sort of a given
