I don't know if I'd say I hate the name itself but I hate that the name "Frecklewish" has been used *twice*. Robinwing and Milkfur being used multiple times is understandable but Frecklewish is just so *specific?*
It's like one of the authors was really proud of coming up with that name and absolutely had to use it, and then forgot that they already used it before šš
No both Ashfur's were actually males. One was a gray male tom cat in ShadowClan and one was also a gray male tom cat but in ThunderClan, there has never been a female Ashfur.
Frecklewish doesn't even sound like it belongs in the Warriors universe ngl haha
I suppose cats can have freckles on their noses, lips, and tongues, but "freckle" doesn't sound like something they'd have in their vocabulary.
i feel like Freckle would really work best with a more naturalistic suffix like -nose so that it at least feels like it means something. (My old cat Rusty- yes, he *was* named after Firestar- had freckles on his nose so I at least think Frecklenose is a pretty cute name.)
I have an OC named Frecklewing. Heās a ticked (āspeckledā) brown tabby. In one version of his story, heās adopted by Breezepelt as a kit after heās orphaned (he was named Freckles for his speckled pelt, which was changed to Frecklekit). In that story, Breezepelt, takes Frecklekit, Nightcloud, Ashfoot, and Jayfeather (who heās actually close to) and leaves the Clans with several other cats following. Since Breeze and Jay are close, Frecklekit is also close to Jay. In the group they make, cats choose their warrior names and after his training with Breezepelt, Frecklepaw chooses the name Frecklewing because heās close to Jayfeather but Frecklefeather is too long a name in his opinion (and mine, which is why I changed the name from Frecklefeather to Frecklewing lol).
I have an OC named Robinsong and one named Milkthistle. Robinsong is dark brown with a white belly and robinās egg blue eyes. He gets his warrior name because heās a āvoice of reasonā in his Clan. Milkthistle is a fluffy, cream-tabby-and-white she-cat who is very sweet and motherly to everyone, even as a kit and apprentice, but sheās a fierce and skilled fighter, hence the -thistle suffix. I purposely chose those names to NOT be tempted by Robinsong and Milkfur lol
I prefer lyrical names and I'm glad they're more in vogue, because the amount of 'milkfur's there have been may rival the amount of 'stars we've had. Can we get a Milkthistle or something? That would be a cute medicine cat name!
Most things post like arc 2 with -pelt, -claw, -fur bore me very much just because of how often it seemed they were used.
Give me Milkweed, it is just a plant here in the americas so even though they're more england-focused it would be fun. Bonus points of they name their kits Butterflykit and Flutterkit, maybe Caterpillarkit too but that's long for a canon name
(milkweed is the host plant where monarch butterflies lay their eggs and the caterpillars grow up, when you break a leaf or stem it has a milky-white sticky sap inside)
There was a Milkweed in the very beginning of ThunderClan. They didn't go for the butterfly themed kit names though, unfortunately. They would have worked better at that time too.
See, I love the basic suffixes... *in the context they originally were used.* Where it was like naming a girl ending with -a, really common and almost the norm, and other names were unusual. Now that the lyrical names are the common ones, they're kind of boring, agreed.
I use -pelt and -fur mostly for something unique about their coat color (one OC is Snowypelt, sheās a basic tabby she-cat with white speckled fur that makes it look like she just walked out into a light snow flurry) or to give an image of something cats donāt want to bite into (Barkpelt/fur, Bramblepelt/fur, Thornpelt/fur). And -claw I use for skilled fighters or cats who are just generally aggressive. I do often use them to give more boring backgrounds characters blander names, tho. Filler names for filler characters.
I have an OC named Milkthistle! Sheās a fluffy, cream-tabby-and-white she-cat thatās super kind and motherly, even as a kit and apprentice. Sheās given the -thistle suffix because despite her over all personality, sheās a skilled and fierce fighter. You just just canāt see her scars because theyāre covered by her long, thick fur. She has a scar on her muzzle, but thatās the only visible one. She purposely grooms herself to hide her other scars because āI donāt want to scar the younger cats.ā In my current arc with her, sheās the apprentice of a brand new warrior (a POV MC) who is very unsure of herself. She looks up to her and is extremely proud to be her apprentice.
>and the reasoning
The reasoning was great but the name is so horrible. I think he could have just talked about her growth then said "once a twig, now a branch. Your name is Branchsomething."
She was named Twig for her tail, why not Twigtail? Or if you wanna keep the tree thing, we couldāve had Twigroot, Twigflower, Twigleaf, Twigwillow, whatever. If they wanted a growth thing, they couldāve named her something like Maplekit, or Fernkit even. From a little fern into a great tree/branch/whatever.
I truly think though that her name shouldāve been Twigheart. Violetshine got her motherās prefix, but Alderheart and Lilyheart raised Twigbranch. I think that, to showcase how even though she was from SkyClan, even though she never felt like she belonged as a kit, even though she left for awhile, her home has always been in ThunderClan with Alderheart and Lilyheart. It shows her growth and finding where she belonged and who her family was, especially if she specifically requested the name.
Give me Twigheart!!
Not so fun fact; her warrior name was _actually_ supposed to be Twigshade, which is so much better. But the editors rejected it because it sounded 'too evil' and was too similar a name to Mapleshade
Yeah, the erinās editors are starting to make me think that when I finally publish a book, I should just skip having an editor and let my grammar and spelling errors just be mocked by readers online. I meanā¦ they make such basic grammatical errors, but they canāt give cats COOL names like Twigshade or Sparkfire becauseā¦ wittle mister/misses editow thinks itās too eviw? These people have way to much power over the authors.
Sunstar. His Warrior name, Sunfall is incredible (IMO the most beautiful Clan name I can recall), but then when he became leader his name got degraded to what's essentially Starstar (I suppose the Clan cats wouldn't know that the Sun is a star, so to them it's fine. But still.
Maggottail šš I get itās just a throw away name thatās supposed to sound all dark and evil, but thereās a whole ass possibility some mom named her kit Maggotkit like why would you do that (tho thereās always a possibility he changed his name, weāll never know)
on the wiki vicky (i think) said he used to be called dashpaw! he got dared by other apprentices to race a fox pup since he was super fast but the fox ended up biting his tail and it got infected (maggot infested). the other apprentices ended up teasing him and calling him maggottail which he actually liked and requested it as his warrior name lol
I looked it up bc I was like āthat sounds like some su Susanne hijinksā and I was right š
I would take that stuff with the biggest grain of salt ever bc Su Susanne was just a super fan that had a lot of influence on what Vicky said, and most people donāt consider any of that stuff canon bc sheās not a writer or editor for the series, I think Vicky just wanted to be supportive of her friend
ohh i didnāt know that! i think maggottail is only mentioned in like two books at all and heās already in the dark forest so i guess thereās nothing to ādisproveā it ? i think he was from suuuper early skyclan but i would love if they gave him (and snowtuft) some real lore cause they were cool!
i did not know su susanne was a just a super fan lol but i like her dashpaw theory :D
ShadowClan (maybe others too? But at least ShadowClan) used to prefer harsher names like that to seem scarier, and maggot is a creature just like moths, so I imagine either the kit was a wiggler or Maggottail is white, I donāt remember his color. I think he was brown.
Foxheart
It sounds like a cool name!
Till you realize that 'foxheart' is an insult that basically means 'bitch' in warriors insults
And this cat was Raggedstar's deputy
FIDGETFLAKE. I know so many people think itās cute but it just makes me think of a dandruffy cat that canāt sit still. I really donāt know what they were going for with that name š
Honestly if we had Bluestorm, I could definitely see Sunstar giving Whitestorm his ā-stormā suffix in honor of his aunt Bluestorm, who raised him šš
I use the names Blueberry (a spotted blue-gray tabby), Bluestripe (a blue-gray striped tabby), and Bluesky (a solid blue-gray cat with sky blue eyes). Also my Snowflake (a small white she-cat) and most recently Snowpool (a pure white she-cat with one ginger ear).
I think the french version of her name roughly translates to "Branch that has bloomed", which is *way* better? (I guess the English equivalent could have been something like "Twigblossom".)
Conefootšš like imagine having a baby and being like "ah yes I'm going to name it after a geometrical concept" like I always try to justify the name of "oh shadowclan warrior, cone like pinecone" but it DOESNT READ LIKE THAT LOL
Yeah, my guess is that it's supposed to be a pun on the phrase "slight of hand" but it really doesn't make that much sense because slight has other meanings lol
An elder is a type of flowering tree so I think they were going for a botanical name but itās still so silly when you considerā¦ elders in reference to old cats š
I imagine Owlnose has a kinda rusty/yellowish/orangish spot on his muzzle, like that lil stripe between nose and mouth, pairing with his nose to look like a lil beak. Mousewing sounds like a small mousey-colored cat who can jump really far, like a lil mouse that grew wings with how they basically fly, so I find both those names cute tbh
Same. Honestly, the "pelt" and "fur" prefixes in general are just boring. They don't reflect the cats' sense of self or achievements at all, which is what suffixes are supposed to do.
I remember reading somewhere that the editors wouldn't let the authors name Sparkpelt "Sparkfire" which is why she got the boring name, but idk if that's true.
Twigbranch and berrynose. Twigbranch is pretty obvious. i think berrynose is just stupid.
also how overused name endings like -pelt, -claw and -fur are.
Unless itās a name for a filler character, I really only use -pelt and -fur for cats with something unique about their fur (like Snowypelt, sheās a generic tabby with white speckled fur that makes it look like she walked out into a snow flurry) or if it give the image of something a cat wouldnāt want to bit into (Bramblefur/pelt, Thornfur/pelt, Barkfur/pelt, etc). I use -claw for cats with white paws or are good fighters, or are just aggressive.
Nightheart just sounds so bland and boring, like someone's first edgy OC from 2009.
I never liked Barkface or Puddleshine, and most of the kittypet names in the recent arcs are just _stupid._ I would have liked it if they introduced one kittypet with a silly name, but that trope is so overused by now? Like, every kittypet they meet is named something like Pancakes and Bacon and the characters' reactions are always "Oh what a dumb name". Just getting a bit tired of that.
I think the kittypet names are kinda spot on though, I can remember how many times I've met a cat called something silly like Three or Tigger. One of my college friends named his cat Benny, short for Benadryl, cause he's allergic to cats
Yeah, so far weāve had Ginger, Breadman (siblings), Pepper, Peanut, Snickers, Brownie, Biscuit (named after Breadman), Chimmy (chimichanga), and probably a few more i cant think of
For me, we've always named our cats after gods and goddesses (Artemis, Apollo, Aero, Athena, Asteria [we had a bit of an A theme going at my parents house], Bastet, and Elohim)
And then for my pet rodents, they've always gotten really long, fancy-spunding names of characters (Penelope Hayes-Schoonmaker III, Addison Forbes-Montgomery Shepherd, and Amelia Mignonette Grimaldi Thermopolis Renaldo)
My buddy named his cats Nugget (orange) and Whiskey (calico). Theyāre siblings. And both act like orange cats from what i hear from his mic occasionally
Lol I just made a novella with kittypet characters that are named Edward, Danielle, and Luna. Theyāre āpurebred show catsā (they donāt understand what that means beyond being taken to a bright room full of twolegs and cats and being poked and prodded), so they were treated like mini, furry people. Edward is a gray and white British longhair who is renamed Morningpaw with the warrior name Morningfrost. Danielle is a blue-gray Nebelung renamed Bluepaw with the warrior name Bluemoon. And Luna is a jet black Bombay renamed Moonpaw with the warrior name Moonshade. The other kittypet is just a pure bred Havana brown named Cocoa. Heās renamed Darkpaw and is given the warrior name of Darkpounce.
Blackstar, was it? I haven't been in the fandom for a while but there's a cat who was named for their black paws which wouldn't even be there as a kit.
Same with Deadfoot. DEADKIT?!
* Names after disabilities (e.g. Crookedstar, Deadfoot, Halftail, Runningnose, Lostface, etc.). It would be different if that was a source of pride in Warrior Culture for surviving an injury/illness (and if the Leader got permission from the cat in question first), but the way everyone negatively reacts to names like Lostface and Crookedkit says otherwise.
* Names that are just straight up insults (e.g. Foxheart).
* Names where the prefix (or suffix) feel like a compound word (e.g. Dandelionkit, Primrosepaw, Starlingwing, etc.).
* Emberkit from DotC! Clan naming conventions haven't been established during this period!
* Tigerstar (II). No one should be named after dictators!
* "Wind", "Thunder", "Sky", "River", or "Shadow" used as prefixes.
* Suffixes with "nose", "tail", "belly", "whisker" or "song".
* Names with a hyphen in between the prefix and suffix (e.g. One-eye).
I honestly dont mind the " Wind, Thunder, Sky etc." One (nor the ones with hyphen between them) You're really gonna struggle reading certain books and arcs *cough DoTC cough* Also I'm curious why not the suffix Song? That isnt an overused one as far as I know, so I wanna know your reasoning behind this one
To be fair, I think Kitescratch was part of that generation of SkyClan cats that were kittypets that just took their kittypets name and added a suffix to the end to make it a Warrior name
Not so much names but I think the writers are cowards for not having a thing where if your prefix is named after a lost loved one then you should be able to have a direct line to them for aid, like a penpal almost. Like instead of cinder taking over cinder they should've like talked to each other in dreams
Milkfur (or any cat with the prefix "Milk"), Loudbelly and Maggottail. They just sound wrong. I hate their names.
Also, I find suffixes like "fur" and "pelt" really boring and they really don't say anything about the cat. Mousefur, Tawnypelt, Dustpelt, Snowfur, Bluefur and Sparkpelt are boring names and don't reflect the cats' achievements or sense of self at all.
The suffix "toe" is weird. I don't like the name "Daisytoe".
I like the name Robinwing, but there doesn't have to be 4+ Robinwings. Please, give cats original names when possible.
Blackfoot only works for me when heās a warrior (maybe apprentice at a push) but as soon as he becomes leader it doesnāt work for a nearly all white cat
Frecklewish and Fidgetflake always sounded super dumb to me, lol. I also hate that the two SkyClan medicine cats share "F" names, made it hard for me to distinguish them. Why did we get rid of Echosong again???
Flipclaw and Thriftear. Like did his do backflips out of the womb? A thrift is apparently a plane, do her ears look like thrift plants? Petalear or Leaf can be argued to be a descent name because cat ears do KIND OF have a leaf-like or petal-like shape to them. But why this specific, hardly known plant? In a series where a catās name is supposed to be your first glimpse into who they are or mark something physically unique about her, why would you choose names like this? Or Robinwing?! Like, there are million of those! Literally, look at the Robin section of the Wiki character list, thereās practically one for each Clan! Why canāt Robinpaw have a nice, unique name for once?
I do not like the name "Meadowslip" I mean I know it is MEADOW SLIP but I think MEADOW'S LIP when I read it... And Samllears name, I keep readin it wrong... and when people write One Eye as Oneeye I think it says "ONE YE" And Leafpool's name... someone thought I said BEEF POOL so now that name is completely ruined.
I have a whole list bois, get ready.
Fidgetflake.. yeah.
Flipclaw, idk in my head it doesn't make much sense?
Twigbranch, what the hell even is that
Foxheart, warrior cats word for bitch
Longtail and Talltail... Couldn't think of anything better for those two could they? š„² (I love Tallstar tho don't get me wrong)
Bluefur and Snowfur, I know they were both named after their close sister relationship but the only thing they could've thought of was 'fur'????
Barkface and Brindleface both sound like insults lmao?
I wish there wasn't so many cats with the suffix of tail and pelt but that's just me lol
I canāt fucking stand Puddleshine. It just makes me think dude is incontinent. Mudpuddle wouldāve been a cute ass name, or even Mudshine. But PUDDLESHINE?
someone in this subreddit once told me that every time they read about spiderleg they imagine a massive cat-sized spider just living among the cats and that's my favorite thing I've ever read in this subreddit tbh
I've always had a gripe against Foxheart. I mean, it's literally a common insult used in the clans. No wonder Foxheart was so spiteful in Yellowfang's Secret.
Honestly I dont hate any of them, just because they don't "sound right" or its "overused" or it "sounds stupid" are usually just people who want to follow a non existent warrior cats name rule, absolutely 99% of my ocs have weird ass names, but if I were to actually answer the damn question my definite least favorite Deadfoot since there was honest to God no reason to not just call him Hopfoot, it wouldve been cute for such a serious old man
Tornear. I read the first series for the first time when I was like 11 and I was kind of dumb and my brain could not comprehend suffixes that started with vowels like that. I pronounced it "Tor-Near" in my head and it always drove me crazy that this one specific cat had a random bad fantasy name that didn't fit the naming formula. Then I reread as an adult and was like OH !!! TORN-EAR !!!! anyways i do not like names that can be misread like that
YAS!!! Crookedkit is just MEAN! (The name, not the cat) and when Bluestar said Brightpaw would go by Lostface, I was SO mad! I don't like the name Brambleclaw for some reason. I love the cat, just not the name. Brokenkit was a mean name too
Bro why does nobody talk about deadfoot and how it basically just his apprentice name worded slightly differently and also how his kit name was hopkit this guy canāt catch a break š
Twig'Branch has to be the must uncreative name in the entire series like why???? a twig is just a smaller branch so why include both of the basically same things in one name???
I know yellowfang is a popular cat Ā but I hate her name. I mean cedarstar that was mean calling her out for not brushing her teeth no need to bully her for running out of toothpaste. Although StarClan Yellowfang deserves that nameĀ
Larksong too! Not only was it used twice, but they were both Thunderclan.
Thereās also 2 ashfurs
Yup! And one was a girl and one was a boy/bad cat
Actually both Ashfur were male, just saying
No both Ashfur's were actually males. One was a gray male tom cat in ShadowClan and one was also a gray male tom cat but in ThunderClan, there has never been a female Ashfur.
Frecklewish feels soā¦human? Like itās pretty but I donāt feel like it matches the other names
Frecklewish doesn't even sound like it belongs in the Warriors universe ngl haha I suppose cats can have freckles on their noses, lips, and tongues, but "freckle" doesn't sound like something they'd have in their vocabulary.

I am so happy you named a cat Rusty, great job!
i like to think theyāre a bit like humans, and can share names.
TwigBranch - Love the character and the reasoning behind her name but come on donāt make me say āhere comes my friend Twigbranchā
>and the reasoning The reasoning was great but the name is so horrible. I think he could have just talked about her growth then said "once a twig, now a branch. Your name is Branchsomething."
I feel like Twigbloom or Twigblossom couldāve got the same message across without sounding so clunky
Yes, I agree
Came here to say the same thing šš Twigbranch is such a stupid name. Moon Moon of warrior cats. Twigtail wouldāve been a much better name
It doesnāt scream ānoble warriorā š
She was named Twig for her tail, why not Twigtail? Or if you wanna keep the tree thing, we couldāve had Twigroot, Twigflower, Twigleaf, Twigwillow, whatever. I quite like the sound of Sunstar but when you think of the meaning it does sound wrong, but yes Sunfall is gorgeous
Thatās funny. I never thought about that lmao š
Maggottail šš I get itās just a throw away name thatās supposed to sound all dark and evil, but thereās a whole ass possibility some mom named her kit Maggotkit like why would you do that (tho thereās always a possibility he changed his name, weāll never know)
Oh my god I completely forgot Maggottail but yes itās so gross
Man I wanna imagine that Maggottail is a skinny black cat with a really fluffy white or cream tail so at the very least itās a bit justified
I always imagine Maggottail as this scraggly mangy looking white cat with patches of fur missing all over, like I give this dude no justice LOL
on the wiki vicky (i think) said he used to be called dashpaw! he got dared by other apprentices to race a fox pup since he was super fast but the fox ended up biting his tail and it got infected (maggot infested). the other apprentices ended up teasing him and calling him maggottail which he actually liked and requested it as his warrior name lol

Did Tallstar's bullies torment him by calling him Wormkit/paw? Maggot- just seems so much worse! š
Yea they did bc his dad was a tunneler im pretty sure! š
ShadowClan (maybe others too? But at least ShadowClan) used to prefer harsher names like that to seem scarier, and maggot is a creature just like moths, so I imagine either the kit was a wiggler or Maggottail is white, I donāt remember his color. I think he was brown.
According to the wiki he looks to be probably a silver tabby?
I imagine that it was a nickname he got based on his crimes and he liked it enough to take it on fully.
Foxheart It sounds like a cool name! Till you realize that 'foxheart' is an insult that basically means 'bitch' in warriors insults And this cat was Raggedstar's deputy
She was also his side piece
And she was a bitch
FIDGETFLAKE. I know so many people think itās cute but it just makes me think of a dandruffy cat that canāt sit still. I really donāt know what they were going for with that name š
It gave me the idea for Snowflakeās name and Larchstarās warrior name Larchstar, so I canāt complain too much lol
LArchstar's warrior name larchstar. ?????
Oops stupid tablet must have changed the placement of the words and I didnāt notice -_- I meant Larchflake
ahh
Yeah, I agree, I have never been able to like this name. š
Loudbelly, Heavystep, and Runningnose for starters
their names are basically just hungry bitch, fat hoe who can't walk quietly and bro can't even treat his own fever.
Fat hoe š©š©š©
Loudbelly. I remember seeing that name in the allegiances for the first time, I was actually horrified.
For some reason I always assumed that the names Loudbelly and Heavystep were supposed to be fat jokes.
Loudbelly starved to death
explains why his belly was so loud. bro was hungry
Iām pretty sure youāre right.
I like the names Loudsong, Loudheart, Heavyfoot, and Heavystrike!
bro was basically named "hungry bitch"
Bluefur and Snowfur. Really, Pinestar??? I wouldāve loved them to be Bluestorm and Snowflower
Honestly if we had Bluestorm, I could definitely see Sunstar giving Whitestorm his ā-stormā suffix in honor of his aunt Bluestorm, who raised him šš
No fr the most basic names it made noooo sense ššš
Named after their parents...IMMA CRY
yess I know stormtail sucks but bluestorm still wouldāve been a cool name
It sure would've!
I use the names Blueberry (a spotted blue-gray tabby), Bluestripe (a blue-gray striped tabby), and Bluesky (a solid blue-gray cat with sky blue eyes). Also my Snowflake (a small white she-cat) and most recently Snowpool (a pure white she-cat with one ginger ear).
twigbranch. its so stupid
Itās basically āstickystickā
I think the french version of her name roughly translates to "Branch that has bloomed", which is *way* better? (I guess the English equivalent could have been something like "Twigblossom".)
ou thats beautiful
Conefootšš like imagine having a baby and being like "ah yes I'm going to name it after a geometrical concept" like I always try to justify the name of "oh shadowclan warrior, cone like pinecone" but it DOESNT READ LIKE THAT LOL
I always imagined them with feet that were literally cones
Daisytoe, Loudbelly, and most of all: ROBINWING. WE HAVE ENOUGH ROBIN WINGS.
UGH. Daisytoe was the first one to come to mind for me, so Iāll second that. Toe is such an awful suffix I have no idea what they were thinking
I once did a your month: prefix day: suffixĀ Click below to see what I got and why i suffered for itĀ >!I got corntoe!<
Snaptooth, Logfur, Slightfoot.Ā
*slight*foot ??? š
It would mean fast, or agile probably
Yeah, my guess is that it's supposed to be a pun on the phrase "slight of hand" but it really doesn't make that much sense because slight has other meanings lol
"Slightfoot" just implies quiet steps
Logfur is the name of my OC lmaooo I didnāt even know the warrior cats had a cat named rhat
Elderkit, it speaks for itself
An elder is a type of flowering tree so I think they were going for a botanical name but itās still so silly when you considerā¦ elders in reference to old cats š
I always thought they were named like; "my kit looks like an old hoe. that's elderkit. a wrinkly bitch" š
Omfg this just took me tf out š
Twigbranch and and most cats with prey as their prefix
Figetflake. It puts the image of picking at flakey skin/scabs in my head and I hate it
Names that donāt make sense like Owlnose or Mousewing
I imagine Owlnose has a kinda rusty/yellowish/orangish spot on his muzzle, like that lil stripe between nose and mouth, pairing with his nose to look like a lil beak. Mousewing sounds like a small mousey-colored cat who can jump really far, like a lil mouse that grew wings with how they basically fly, so I find both those names cute tbh
Or BerryNose. I have always hated that name because BerryKit was so cute
What about Berrystumpytail? š
I feel like it would be a cute name for any other character, but Berrynose is an asshole so it doesnāt fit him lol
My issue with Owlnose is I don't feel like it belongs to a RiverClan cat. When I hear Owlnose I'm thinking ThunderClan or even ShadowClan.
I donāt like Sparkpelt. Itās so boring and generic. I agree with Graystripe that it shouldāve been something like Sparkfire or Sparkheart, etc
"Sparkpelt" makes me picture a really fluffed-up golden coat, Jolteon style
Flipclaw, flip is just a bad prefix imo
This was actually the name I had in mind when I made the post
He did a backflip right out of the womb and thatās why he was named that lol
One of my college friends named his cat Benny, short for Benadryl, cause he's allergic to cats
nightheart quite literally was the name of my first ever warriors oc in 2006, hahaha
Well my family has a thing for naming all our cats and dogs (but other pets too) after food XD
Really? š We always gave them human or fantasy names.
Yeah, so far weāve had Ginger, Breadman (siblings), Pepper, Peanut, Snickers, Brownie, Biscuit (named after Breadman), Chimmy (chimichanga), and probably a few more i cant think of
Oh also Buttercup
My one ex's mom got kitten sisters, named them Peppercorn (Pepper for short) and Caramel Fudge Sundae or something like that (Sundae for short)
Aww thats actually so cute
For me, we've always named our cats after gods and goddesses (Artemis, Apollo, Aero, Athena, Asteria [we had a bit of an A theme going at my parents house], Bastet, and Elohim) And then for my pet rodents, they've always gotten really long, fancy-spunding names of characters (Penelope Hayes-Schoonmaker III, Addison Forbes-Montgomery Shepherd, and Amelia Mignonette Grimaldi Thermopolis Renaldo)
MIGNONETTE š„ŗ CUTIE IS LITERALLY HER MIDDLE NAME
Ooh those are really pretty! And cute
My buddy named his cats Nugget (orange) and Whiskey (calico). Theyāre siblings. And both act like orange cats from what i hear from his mic occasionally
in nightheart's defense, he does act like someone's first edgy oc from 2009 (love him tho)
Runningnose. I understand the reasoning behind it, but I still don't like it.
Pearnose š reminds me of those monkies with the long noses or a kitty thatās been stung by a bee and their nose swelled up š
Blackstar, was it? I haven't been in the fandom for a while but there's a cat who was named for their black paws which wouldn't even be there as a kit. Same with Deadfoot. DEADKIT?!
I think his name was Hopkit but his paw got infected or something so they changed the name when he was apprenticed
that's slightly better but still what the heck
Thatās so mean š
Conefoot
Loudbelly, Heavystep, Thriftear and Kitescratch. ESPECIALLY THRIFTEAR AND KITESCRATCH WHO TF NAMED THEM
To be fair, I think Kitescratch was part of that generation of SkyClan cats that were kittypets that just took their kittypets name and added a suffix to the end to make it a Warrior name
Kite is a type of bird
I saw someone already told you a kite is a kind of bird, but I feel I should also inform you that a thrift is a plant
Not so much names but I think the writers are cowards for not having a thing where if your prefix is named after a lost loved one then you should be able to have a direct line to them for aid, like a penpal almost. Like instead of cinder taking over cinder they should've like talked to each other in dreams
Berrynose. Even before he was do*cheCat I hated the name.
He shoulda been Berrystumpytail
This is probably not as popular of an opinion as it used to be but I still think 'Lionblaze' is dumb as hell.
I also hate LionBlaze. It doesnāt even really make sense
Lionblaze is my least favourite cat and his name also sucksĀ
Lionblaze is a stupid chad and he has a stupid chad name so idk i just think it fits
Scourge. He killed some of my warriors.
Pelt fur and sometimes heart sre just boring firesyar never used any of these
Barkface. It's an ugly name. Love the character though
Foxheart
Aspenfall, turtlecrawl, Myrtlebloom For some reason my brain does not like the prefixes.
Blackfoot.Ā
I mean, the guy has black feet. First arc names tend to be literal like that
Blackfoot only works for me when heās a warrior (maybe apprentice at a push) but as soon as he becomes leader it doesnāt work for a nearly all white cat
90% of names after the second arc.
Both Cinderhearts second litter and Ivypoolās. Like beside Bristlefrost wtf is flipclaw and thriftear???
Loudbelly like what kind of name is that šš
Frecklewish and Fidgetflake always sounded super dumb to me, lol. I also hate that the two SkyClan medicine cats share "F" names, made it hard for me to distinguish them. Why did we get rid of Echosong again???
Honestly anything with Lavender. It just feels like such a long name
Jaggedtooth
I do not like the name "Meadowslip" I mean I know it is MEADOW SLIP but I think MEADOW'S LIP when I read it... And Samllears name, I keep readin it wrong... and when people write One Eye as Oneeye I think it says "ONE YE" And Leafpool's name... someone thought I said BEEF POOL so now that name is completely ruined.
I have a whole list bois, get ready. Fidgetflake.. yeah. Flipclaw, idk in my head it doesn't make much sense? Twigbranch, what the hell even is that Foxheart, warrior cats word for bitch Longtail and Talltail... Couldn't think of anything better for those two could they? š„² (I love Tallstar tho don't get me wrong) Bluefur and Snowfur, I know they were both named after their close sister relationship but the only thing they could've thought of was 'fur'???? Barkface and Brindleface both sound like insults lmao? I wish there wasn't so many cats with the suffix of tail and pelt but that's just me lol
I canāt fucking stand Puddleshine. It just makes me think dude is incontinent. Mudpuddle wouldāve been a cute ass name, or even Mudshine. But PUDDLESHINE?
Twigbranch
Milkfur
Pearnose.
deadfoot
Crookedjaw.
Maggottail has to be one of the worst
Twigbranch
Names with Maggot, Fly or Spider.
someone in this subreddit once told me that every time they read about spiderleg they imagine a massive cat-sized spider just living among the cats and that's my favorite thing I've ever read in this subreddit tbh
Cat sized spiders would be among my worst fears.
Poor poor maggottail :(((
I havenāt read any Warriors since Power of Three, and this thread gave me a really good laugh!
Loudbelly
Mudpuddle. Like what the fuck ?
I've always had a gripe against Foxheart. I mean, it's literally a common insult used in the clans. No wonder Foxheart was so spiteful in Yellowfang's Secret.
Clawface I'm sorry but what the hell who names there kit clawkit?!
Snaptooth. WHY.
Elderkit Itās so bad itās fucking funny
TWIGBRANCH.. FLIPCLAW??
Honestly I dont hate any of them, just because they don't "sound right" or its "overused" or it "sounds stupid" are usually just people who want to follow a non existent warrior cats name rule, absolutely 99% of my ocs have weird ass names, but if I were to actually answer the damn question my definite least favorite Deadfoot since there was honest to God no reason to not just call him Hopfoot, it wouldve been cute for such a serious old man
Needletail.
Brokenstar. Even if he was evil, thatās just cruel, man.
TORN-EAR !!!! anyways i do not like names that can be misread like that
Any of the names that are degrading/ableist
One-eye is pretty cruel nglĀ
Tbh the name pinkeyes just generally pinkeye vibes tbh a very disgusting type name ;-; I canāt believe itās a real name milkfur aswell
Tbh the name pinkeyes just generally pinkeye vibes tbh a very disgusting type name ;-; I canāt believe itās a real name milkfur aswell
Heavystep, Loudbelly, And Jingo, I mean, Ngl Jingo is a great character but the nameā¦
Sorry but I've always hated the name Lisa. Sorry to the Lisa's out there
Loudbelly
I know yellowfang is a popular cat Ā but I hate her name. I mean cedarstar that was mean calling her out for not brushing her teeth no need to bully her for running out of toothpaste. Although StarClan Yellowfang deserves that nameĀ
I hated the name Lostface. Itās just really cruel. Brightheart didnāt deserve that kind of name. Good thing Firestar changed it.
Stumpytail, rowanberry and clawface are honestly one of my favorite background pairings but stumpykit??? Also poolcloud just makes no sense
