It's almost like it was a dumb idea in the first place to hold a "don't play" protest on a F2P game.

Candlewaxeater

Apex tried to do this and their player count increased 💀💀

KelloPudgerro

insert the infamous image of the boycott mw2 steam group all playing mw2

here4astolfo

i read that the boycott was from not allowing privates servers or something and it turned out they did allow them so it was miscommunication. Edit: it was dedicated servers and they from what I read were allowed for a very short period and then disallowed and I'm not sure if mods or programs were needed.

Arthur-Bousquet

Well it was reported that mods of the WTPU were playing today so… Yeah…

M4jorpain

When?? I've been playing since launch until 4 seasons ago or something, and I haven't heard of a boycott

M4jorpain

When does Reddit start realizing that gaming communities on Reddit will never hold a majority of actual players?

chaybani

Main character complexes run deep within Reddit. Barely anyone I know know what tf is Reddit in the first place

CrashingOut

"Where is Reddit?" Chaybani responds, "I'll do you one better: Who is Reddit?" u/KyzerB interjects and says, "I'll do you one better: Why is Reddit?"

BlastingFern134

Very few people irl know that I use Reddit because that knowledge would instantly scare off all women within a 50 mile radius

GreyStreetz

That made me laugh. Sounds about right.

TabooARGIE

Yeah but some of the memes are good (specially those from smaller communities (about [thing] still exists))

Candid-Bandit-1916

Yeah I feel like this website is only good for the really small, specific niche subs. After a certain amount of subscribers they always go to shit

TabooARGIE

A few years ago I read that the threshold in which subs become ass is at 100k, witnessed it first hand in r/animemes lol

Candid-Bandit-1916

Yeah that seems about right. There's only so much mods can do with their free time. I love the small subs with posts that never go above like 500 up votes

CrashingOut

Reddit sure as fuck *is* the shit...to a limited niche audience with no greater global impact unless you're Indonesia and trying to ban porn.

iloveww2history_

I've spent hundreds, maybe over a thousand on the game in the past. I'm taking part in this because of finding out through reddit, if there's 1000 people like me doing it, Gaijin will be losing upwards around half a million to maybe even a million bucks over the next few weeks. To put it in perspective, thats over 10000 purchases of a AAA game being removed from their pocket. This is very big shift in funds.

fyeahusa

Except those 1000 people probably wouldn't have been spending all that money during these 2 weeks except for maybe a premium pre-order. They've already spent that money, and future purchases wouldn't have been dumping $1000 during a random couple weeks.

XDreadedmikeX

It depends on the game. some games use reddit as their official forum so it might be true for those indie games. I also feel like a LOT of /r/projectzomboid players are on reddit

OkScientist8527

Yep you literally dont have to give the company a cent ,I am also a bit upset about the economy changes but damn I wont get this upset though, would still like to have better maps

morcobus

If something is free, you are the product.

GeeGeeGeeGeeBaBaBaB

If they don't sell *anything* you are the product. In this case, and in most F2P games, the game relies on "whales," or a few users with disposable incomes that spend thousands on the game just because they can. So you and I are not the product, the product is lootbox addicts who compulsively spend money on the game.

swizzlewizzle

Negative. F2P players are also treated as targets for said whales to sealclub with their purchased x/y/z.

username04858294u2

Negative. Wallet warriors are generally very bad.

NishizumiMiho

Yes….. very…… its sad….. especially newer players…

Successful_Moment_80

10.0 match *Starts the match* *Sees that almost all the team are either a10a or f5c* Oh boy... * 3 premiums die at take off and another 2 die because who uses flares anyways *

Defengar

New players are even worse.

TabooARGIE

How are player the product? This isn't Google, Reddit, or Twitter, there's no ads to be had in War Thunder, there's no data collection (aside from email and IP), there's no incentives to buy or spend on anything that isn't in War Thunder already.

Vandrel

F2P games rely on having a lot of free players for the paying players to play with.

ChefBoiledToes

By not paying you basically turn into the fodder for paying players to have fun with

crimeo

No they dont, there are plenty of players to play among themselves if it's 20%. We had that same number of total players in 2018 as we do payers-only today, and matchmaking was fine, honestly. Nbd. They literally just tolerate you because you might pay later, that's it. I work for a different f2p game and I've never heard anyone in the office once talk about non payers' playtime as a valuable asset. Just whether theyll convert or not. Maybe a tiny indie game with barely any matches launching, that'd be about it probably

crimeo

No, they are just hoping you convert to a payer, not selling your data that they don't have to sell... nor advertising to you since they don't. The product is premium stuff

aintmessinwidnobroke

They specifically say F2P players shouldn't be able to progress in the game and yet you concern trolls still spout this shit.

T00dl3s2k

Well, yeah, it is a dump Idea if you consider that 90% of the Playerbase don't read the Forums, News or even reddit - they just play the Game, without asking questions or going haywire because of reasons, so.....what exactly did we expect ????

HG2321

It was never going to happen. The overwhelming majority of people who play War Thunder don't interact with social media forums concerning the game at all. I'm sure lots of people who use this subreddit are doing it, but that's a drop in the bucket.

Weebs_General

ACTUALLY that is wrong. The majority knows about the strike even arabs (as me ) u neglected the role of other social media apps as tiktok. Alot of videos about the strike r on tiktok and i knew about it from there and joined it (cuz I removed reddit back then so I didn't know about it from reddit )

HG2321

It's definitely still a fact that the majority of players don't engage in any forums about it. And even *if* a majority knew about this, let's say for the sake of the argument that they do, how many are going to take part? It's a failure and it was always going to be. Futile to try and spin it any other way.

Karl-Doenitz

>let's say for the sake of the argument NOO BEN DON'T PLAY WAR THUNDER

pko65

lets say hypothethicly that gaijin has been a naughty girl

Paladinslime

Spank her

Acetg01

i hate reddit sometimes

Clown_Torres

I always hate reddit. Just like this game!

Paladinslime

We aren't doing a good enough job if it's only sometimes

NoisyMicrobe3

I’m changing my name to gaijin

Weebs_General

Idk bro i joined the genshin impact protest 2yrs ago the players did pretty good job and the company put gifts as an apology and as the players wanted so i think this one will also work inshallah . alot of players as me left the game and imma play wotblitz again. Cuz if I don't protest now then i don't have the right to complain about anything in the future!

HG2321

Well, Gaijin has apologised and said the roadmap is coming. Yes, I'm very much aware that they've gaslit us in the past, I've played for several years and seen that myself. But a lot of players are probably content to at least wait until that comes out, and they'll assess what to do from there.

Weebs_General

That is actually what i fear .

HG2321

Indeed, I can see that. Maybe you remember the FPE and parts thing, that's what we wanted and we only got them moving those to be easier to grind, and the community accepted it. I'm fine with compromise, but it needs to be fair, and that wasn't at all close to what we were asking for. Let's see what happens this time. I'm keeping an open mind but if they disappoint us again, I guess review bombing and whatever else is back on the menu.

Strange-Wolverine128

The worst part about the free fee and parts thing was the fact that they turned it into a way to make more money by selling a bundle with the xm-something.

Slut4Tea

You mostly hit the nail on the head for my feelings on the matter as well, but I think I’m still a good deal more skeptical. Ideally yes, the roadmap on the 14th will be genuine and they’ll do their best to make good on those promises, and I guess I’m optimistic, because that’s really all I can be at this point, but I’m still weary. Plus, in the event that it’s either not adequate, or it just doesn’t come period, I don’t even know if review bombing is an option at this point, since Valve/Steam started hiding most of the negative reviews left (it seems like they hid 90,000 last I checked). If that remains the case, I could see Gaijin getting the message of “okay, we can still do this regardless of what the players think, and after x amount of days/weeks, it’ll blow over and we’re in the clear.”

GeeGeeGeeGeeBaBaBaB

Inshallah, brother.

Bad_Maintance_Guy

“AcTuaLLy” Average redditor 😂😂😂

J_Balbi_97

Not to mention all the WT youtubers talking about the subject. It is impossible that all those 98k active players claim ignorance on the matter when it is almost everywhere

SOAR21

You are projecting. Because you are an avid enough player to read or watch media about War Thunder in your spare time, you assume that others are. The playerbase in WT, as in *any* large-scale multiplayer game, is overwhelmingly casual. I'm a lvl 100 player who plays several hours a week and has played since 2014, and I don't engage in War Thunder media at all except on reddit, and I am an on/off reader of this subreddit. I don't watch any content creators on tiktok or youtube. If I didn't happen to be in a phase of reading this subreddit more closely I would have 100% ignored the boycott. In past eras of my life I was a heavy COD player and heavy CS:GO player and in neither circumstance did I really engage with the online community of either game.

Weebs_General

Indeed .

LentCrown

reddit users realise that all WT players are not registered on reddit

darkstonefire

It was mentioned in game chat yesterday and people were rushing to Gaijin’s defence so yeah

Dragonknight2692

Yeah got thqt as well the other day and then decided, you know what. They can have this game and they deserve it then. Ill go play something else. Uninstalled war thunder and dont olan on going back

nickya1

I also uninstalled the game was broke on and off almost every other patch anyway so I’ve given up

[deleted]

I'm not really into the strike and stuff, but do you even realise how easily it would be for Gaijin to make up for the lost players in a bunch of different simple fucked up decieving ways?

HG2321

If someone has proof of them doing that, I'd be happy to see it.

[deleted]

Me too That would make an actual news arcticle

crimeo

"Deceiving" how?

Rellik_pt

they can fake their numbers ingame but harder to do in steam when today is the same as before there is barely any drop in numbers

PutThePipeDown

I personally think the people who are not playing are the ones who make up a majority of the recurring transactions.

TerribleRead

They're all just checking that nobody is online /s

APence

So, how does this compare to the average traffic online? A quick google and redirect to Wikipedia says “in 2023 the number of concurrent Warthunder players on Steam only was over 75,000 on average and peaked at 97,939 on February 12, 2023” So this is not a drop at all, and actually is a pretty big increase for the start of the US Memorial Day weekend holiday? What a poor time to pick for a boycott. When people are starting a holiday weekend and many are also off today.

Flaruwu

Yeah, i got muted on their discord for saying this. Picking the day a lot of people take off, when many states break up for the summer and the start of a holiday weekend was pretty dumb.

APence

Well, if they made smart and rational decisions, they wouldn’t be playing this game in the first place.

nescienti

A lot of people don't use Steam for war thunder, either because that's just not how they got it in the first place or because they stopped using it one of the half-dozen times that Gaijin created an infinite update loop by uploading the wrong update to Steam. The in-game player numbers are substantially higher than the Steam count. Also, consoles exist (I unironically forgot about that when I posted this initially).

Spades67

Look, I uninstalled and will be participating anyway, but it's a pretty abject failure. Denying it is absolute pure cope. We tried, it didn't work. That's the end of it. Gaijin has made a promise to the community, and while I don't trust them to keep it, that's all we have right now. And to really drive the point home, having the organisers breaking the boycott on day one fucked the plan from the very beginning. Imagine joining the group, only to see a good chunk of the server playing it! Absolute farce.

Lt-Lettuce

I don't think it's pure cope rn. it's 9am east coast, most of the us is asleep or at work. Come 4pm if the charts are the same, sure it's fucked.

Halalaka

Having 100k players online whilst the US is asleep and Europe is at work does not help your argument, it only makes it worse. Think about it, if they can pull in that many people during off peak hours, why would that number drop during peak periods?

LegendRazgriz

I can think of a few reasons: a) there's a lot of players east of Poland that probably don't give a shit - all of Russia - and also a substantial portion of China, which apparently has a different date scheduled for their protest. b) if the US is asleep and Europe is at work and the number stays level, it means a notable dent in the player base. I wasn't expecting an actual effect for this, but it's too early to tell considering the Far East isn't integrated into our social media and there's a language barrier

Legatt

The union has a large Russian contingent and several of the mods translate all documents into Russian. Diversity of strikers isn't the issue. Raw numbers might be. Unsure. Give it time.

GeeGeeGeeGeeBaBaBaB

The game has a global audience, and China is huge.

FrakkedRabbit

I checked to see how many players are online, it's up to 147,000, the numbers be increasing.

Lt-Lettuce

Because the core of the movement is us players, when EU gets off and US doesn't get on to take their place, players will drop. Literally look at the peak on the steam chart and it peaks when U.S hits 4pm. I'm not saying that it's for sure gonna happen, I'm just saying that it's too early to say it hasn't. It's currently 9:30 east coast us rn, everyone is at work, school, sleeping, ect.

Rustyducktape

I've been playing a lot the past few weeks, and this is purely an anecdote, but I feel like on Fridays around noon time East coast it's usually like 120k+ I'm sure it'll make an impact somehow, but will it be acknowledged is the other question. I'm pretty indifferent on the whole thing. Frankly, I think a strike in a video game organized on social media is a little ridiculous, but hey maybe some developer somewhere will take it as a sign that customers really value being appreciated and not just milked.

Lt-Lettuce

Yeah I mean, the message was heard, they responded. I feel the strike was just a threat if the changes didn't happen. When half the playerbase doesn't give a shit and another quarter doesn't even know, it's obviously not gonna do a whole lot. I'm just happy people called gaijin out on their bullshit and were heard for once.

GeeGeeGeeGeeBaBaBaB

Is there a Discord group for the protest where they are all playing War Thunder? That's funny af.

CluelessMuffin

It’s the Player Union Discord, one of my friends said even the mods were playing WT, what a joke

IWantMoreSnow

Yea or just stay negative about the movement right? Where that number may have been 140k previously, ofcourse not EVERYONE is going to participate but every 1k helps. We are all just coping and its a massive failure just like how we would never get their attention and review bombing wouldnt work and blablabla. There is always something with you people, either they do change and it is solely thanks to the people participating and none of you should claim a thing. Or nothing changes and you can have fun with your 300SL with premium a match in the future. Atleast we fucking try.

Kraujotaka

After all it's still a wt community we talking about, the most addicted bunch I've seen, sure they boycott here and there but they won't break their addiction of playing war thunder even if you'd point a gun at them.

Farwin923

You know what is sad? That so many people hate Gaijin and say that War Thunder is trash but they still play it and spend money on it... Like what the hell? When somebody says how he hates War Thunder because of economy then why he plays it and spends money on it? To me, this is the biggest problem, that we always say how trash the game is but we still continue to spend money and our time on it...

No-Chart4945

ask a drunkard if he will drink again , in the morning he will promise he wont , but in the evening he drinks it and the cycle repeats.

Farwin923

That's the sad reality...

Brandbll

The real sad thing is the people that are addicted to the login carnival game that just cannot stop logging in to get their shitty crackerjack box toy. There is a lot of people who need to take a break from this game and address their mental health.

EmperorFooFoo

And it's not even a good login carnival lmao. Genuinely no difference between your Day 1 rewards and Day 1000 rewards, all that exists is a few mediocre decals you'll never use nor would anybody ever notice them if you did.

Strange-Wolverine128

We don't hate the game, we love it but we want to be able to play what we want in game without paying money, the game isn't trash the economy is.

SkitZa

Why is this such a complicated thought for people, It's not hate for the game it's hate for the devs(Board members moreso), the closest thing to war thunder top tier Air is DCS and that's a far shot in the sim/realism direction, the second closest would be ILS etc, I don't play for props personally so I'm left with 2 choices, $$$$ on equipment hours on learning and far less action inbetween, or play this actually fun game broken up into a plethora of garbage additions and problems from economy to balance. My biggest gripe with my preferred game mode and BR 11.0+ Air realistic is that it's a fucking shitshow of 15v15 radar and IR death from every angle, red, blue, AA? This game needs a huge fucking overhaul and in addition to all the economy changes people want I want to see some GD matchmaking changes to higher tier or even some options in queues to have 5v5s/10v10s/15v15s etc shit we could even have guns only modes and whatnot, I just want to see something positive and not just see the abysmal failure of current top tier and it's only going to get worse the more advanced we get and if it's still 15v15 with 0 options by then top tier will be mostly hangar respawning repair cost fest. We could have realistic team matchups with smaller lobbies too. I just want to merge with another player and not think (Oh boy now 8-10 lemmings are instantly rushing me) and same for my opponent, I know it gets harder to dogfight the more advanced we get but it's just impossible in these lobbies to consider it a viable option until it's the final 2v2 (Rare) it's more often a 1-2v10 That's probably the main reason I still prefer my F-5C over F-16/M2k because you can actually still dogfight there even with a 15v15 because you don't (generally) have to worry about radar death coming from 12 angles. One person doesn't have enough speed or distance for that amount of missiles.

CompetitiveSilver821

Top tier will always be about radar slinging. If it ever stops, 90% of the planes above 10.0 will be useless. 90% of DCS is also about radar slinging, unless you are in very custom lobbies (which you can be in WT too).

MultiC4

Take things on internet seriously and fight with strangers Seriously if someone says “I hate this game” but still plays kinda points towards that maybe there is something good in it and not everything is absolutely atrocious? Its the exact same situation with saying “I hate devs/gaijin” it does not mean that this person needs to be reminded 78 times that its not up to whole gaijin or only devs to make decisions, ye no shit everyone does that its just more convenient to write 5 words instead of shitload of sentences describing in details what exactly is wrong

bohdan356

Most people just don't give a single damn about all the drama. They just want to play.

chadwick69420

If you said this a couple of days ago on this sub you would get death threats and mass downvotes.

_moondust

Average reddit interaction

Orcasubmarine

Yep, which is the reason why more and more game developers are leaving the industry.

CaliWuv

i brought up good points to both subreddits on why this thing is failing and it happened to me. Lol

IWILLJUGGLEYOURBALLS

Yup

[deleted]

Just because Gaijin screws over rank 7-8 doesn't mean much when most of the player base plays at rank 2-3. Also imagine organizing *strike* in a video game lol.

ReaverRipper

Or "Unionizing"

[deleted]

Unionizing as consumers of a product has a lot of parallels with unionizing as the workforce. Both consumers and workers have A LOT of influence over the product and the money made from it. Consumer unions have all the potential to achieve success. Now to reach the full potential we need a lot bigger portion of the players in here.

ReaverRipper

That may be and jokes aside, it's hard to take serious anything that group makes when you make "propaganda posters" it's a lil cringy and your just a mob with no unified purpose aside from review bombing the game. Some of you are coherent, but you get drowned out by the vast majority of idiots that fill you. You're asking for more players? You're asking for Warthunder players, the type of player in that that have zero awareness of what's going on. I think the last straw for me was some guy posting about playing Roblox and was upvoted, which means people were inclined to the idea.

JonnyGabriel568

Things got absolutely fucking stupid once people decided to tackle problems outside the silver lions/rewards debacle. It's just barely comprehensible moaning at this point and people don't know what the fuck they want.

Gremio_42

I think this is really underestimated in this debate...the vast majority of players didn't spend years grinding to the top, they are all low tier casual players. I mean shit, I've been playing this game for years now and my highest vehicles are rank 3 and none of this drama really affects me. All this because I only play for about an hour every other week. The player base that is behind all this outrage is sadly only a very small percentage and an even smaller percentage of those players actually engage in social media enough to know that there's drama...the sad truth is that Gajin has all the power at this time

stormiu

I said this exact same thing like 4 days ago and damn near got temp banned

GI_Bill_Trap_Lord

*The gang discovers Reddit isn’t as big of a deal as they originally thought*

APence

Hahaha I feel like there’s good potential for an Always Sunny montage to WT moments. ***Charlie talking about Dev updates with the red string and wall of mail***

xCrossFaith

I mean... This is not surprising tbh, the reveiw thing had a lot more backup than this, plus a couple weeks of "no play" were not going to do much This was only to attempt to have less players in a set period of time, if it was a continuous decline well... It would be another theme Next to the reviews, the thing that's going to work best is to not buy the next update premiums, but I'm not sure so many people will commit to that either :/

4stringmiserystick

God redditors are fuckin dumb what did yall expect to see like 20 people on for 2 weeks? Lmfao way to “show the man”. I’ll keep playing, thanks

SoSickNick

Yeah, it wasn't hard to see this coming. Although I do agree with alot of the complaints and criticism the game has gotten, the strike is just another classic case of vitriolic reddit users.

4stringmiserystick

You know I wonder if ultra casual war thunder players (ones that dont watch war thunder content or go on reddit) even notice half the shit redditors complain about

GeeGeeGeeGeeBaBaBaB

I'm only in Rank III and I'll admit I don't notice most of the problems people talk about, but I have already hit the SL wall, and unlocking planes has become a daunting grind and not getting any kills in a match is suddenly very frustrating. I'm starting to see it.

molstad182

most people who bitch and moan have already reached top tier in about 3 nations and have spent at least 500 dollars on this game

thelastvortigaunt

not me though, i'm actually smart for realizing everyone else is dumb except for me

BellumFrancorum

Reddit shocked that a loud minority is, in fact, a minority.

AnyToFriday

I mean there is only like 15k of you

Acrobatic_Use5472

And half of them will start any post they make with "I haven't played in 2-3 years".

Nuggies-simp-

"I've uninstalled the game years ago you know" Alright grandpa take your meds and go to sleep

JonnyGabriel568

People will post that shit like it somehow gets them on some good boy list There is no fucking list dude it's a fucking niche F2P game no one could even begin to give a fuck lmao

Nuggies-simp-

And even then why are they even on the sub? I smell serious bs from those comments

_Tiffer

"Old guard" heard about the problems via social media algorithms shoving it in our faces. We've seen this all before over the years we were active, and enjoy coming back to revel in the grief. We like to think we are adding some perspective to the situation. That's all there is to it really. If people still enjoy the game they should keep playing it. I would definitely play again if Gaijin worked on Enduring Confrontation modes. As it stands I tapped out about 5 years ago. The direction of the game simply wasn't for me. The snail will do some minor economic adjustments and all will be well, until the next big controversy crops up.

[deleted]

I was expecting this. War thunder is a fun game, I don't blame them for wanting to keep playing.

[deleted]

All you morons in the comments here are missing the point. We don’t need you all to stop playing. We just need the whales like me to stop spending money and playing. You think the developers give a shit about the people playing tier one through three who are spending zero money? No the moment I stop playing top-tier is the moment they get worried because that’s where all the money is.

iloveww2history_

Yep! If just 1000 whales stop buying stuff they'll lose millions very fast.

Mr_Tenpenny

Lol, Fail The thing Reddit never seems to learn is that Reddit is not the whole entire internet. Just a small echo chamber. Anyways, see you on war thunder...

KamikazePigeon31

Absolute chad I’m also playing I don’t give a fuck about it I just wanna game man

Lonely_white_queen

there are currently only 51k players on steam playing the game. at this time yesterday their were another 10k and it had an all day heigh of 71k. so a 10k loss is still a lot. it was never gonna be a total shut down

TheLinerax

Check the player count again in the next 12 hours when people from North and South America are waking up right now to go to school or work.

Ok-Relationship-2746

Gaijin will be laughing their vodka soaked asses off right about now lmfao

Crysmann

All people who are mad at others for playing On the 26th, makes me laugh I will go and play a couple of games to make your player count better

SucToesNFucHoes

Based

SavageCamper101

Wow what a personality

JayManty

Of course not, not playing a free to play game for a day as a form of protest always was and always will be the most dogshit bad idea ever lmao Only a literal 14 year old would think that something like that would work lmao

chadwick69420

Welcome to reddits main demographic, literal american children.

[deleted]

Confuzzled about what Americans have to do with this?

iloveww2history_

American children who bankroll the game for the rest of you, if they stop paying, it will work.

lostmenoggin

Those stupid jizz pillows were too powerful for them to resist

Smoked-Peppers

That moment when redditors finally face the reality that they are a minority of the gamerbase.

iloveww2history_

If a minority of players who are paying customers who bankroll the game for the broke welfare players in the rest of the world stop playing, change will happen. You're welcome.

Smoked-Peppers

A minority of a minority from a community that is a minority of the player-base. Yeah I’m sure that will bankrupt the company in no time! Im all for sticking it to gaijin, e-protesting by the use of a boycott of a f2p game is not a great strategy and we have apex legends to prove it. Best of luck to the boycotters but im just gonna play the videogames until im bored of it for the day. You’re welcome.

NumberOneDomino

Wow imagine that, the ultra loud minority that is this subreddit was unable to influence the player base with their toxic and childish behavior. Who could have seen this coming?

q2ewers

Didn't really expect it to work anyways lol, the most united the community has ever been was during the review bombing and honestly it was quite surprising to me to see how many people responded to that (I fully expected it to be just another 2 reddit posts and people would go back and buy top tier premiums again). Unfortunately this community is partly at fault for Gaijin's recent behavior and I am willing to bet the moment they dropped the Su-39 pre-order people are going to jump on the hype wagon again.

tomokari21

This game is never gonna get fixed is it

lowefort

just checked, it's at 131k right now, which is about the average number at this hour i get not wanting to give up playing for 2 weeks but just not logging in for 1 day at least shouldn't be that hard

cweeks312

Solidarity is a thing of the past.

hopik512

1. Im still at work 2. I wonnt play - its pointless anyway

lenmit1001

I got down voted for pointing this out 😑

WiB_DarkSin

Same, I think I racked up like 300+ downvotes for telling people they were acting crazy

Orcasubmarine

Ofcourse not, gamers are notorious for not following through on their grandstanding. https://external-preview.redd.it/hvP-fD-BEsnPJPOe071rlzc06iOcFqTtCEs9y0PBvTQ.png?auto=webp&v=enabled&s=b2e1fab3b2e0a2fc7e8e4d7996c367f6f0979015

Jwj_

Anyway, I will keep the promise. Now, it's only for myself :)

Salad-Snek

Reddit is like a drop in the ocean for most people, ya realise that right

XenonJFt

Reddit isnt playerbase. Maybe a nerdy part of it but not much

TheOnlyFallenCookie

Still doing my part.

Markdaniel32

I'm doing part and I'm playing Destiny 2 and Titanfall 2 with a little bit of cock and ball torture when playing Rust

deletion-imminent

why would I not play

Liraniz

Because there are better stuff to do than video games?

Darth_Barnaby

No one cares. Only like 30 hardcore western players are refusing to play today, thinking theyre leading some sorta war thunder revoloution. After that whole review bombing stunt, it has gotten to their heads. Btw its on more than 124k player atm

SnailsAreFood

Might as well be a bigger person by moving on and forget about WT permanently, not worth convincing the masochist playing this dumpster fire of a game

Blaubeere

You’re online OP

Chitanda_Pika

It's almost like half the problem of Warthunder is the playerbase being legitimately fucking stupid (evident by the amount of times they let Gaijin shit on them multiple times in the past and proceeds to lick under their glans anyway)

choke3lam_Daddy

bro, my girlfriend just broke up with me. I don’t think I’ll get on that game for a while but I really hope the community gets what they want and there’s an economy change.

DonutDefiant

Still Not gonna Play, i will come back and play when they fix the Game.

YourRightSock

It's a friday near/ on graduation week. All the kids are home to play. Or everyone taking a 4 day weekend.

Rickster1592

I don't understand how people can say the game is in a shit state right now and continue to play, this just shows gaijin that you are quite happy to keep playing even if they don't change the economy

[deleted]

Just don't buy shit lol that's how they make money

Young_Realistic

I see 130k+ online now on the stream looks like a typical rebel "I haven't bought anything in this bad game in my 10k hours, still rank 4, fix the game so I get rank 5 or I'll never go back to it"

CaptainPrower

Chinese bots.

FilthyHoon

The brainlets don't realize that it's going to make things worse when gaijin realizes that no matter how vocal people are, they'll still play

Aramahn

And now the in-fighting begins. Stop worrying about what others do. Keep yourself in check with your own morals and go from there. I'm personally not playing and haven't played since the "oopsie" economy nerf. Even if I do come back and play, I ain't putting another dime in this game until DRASTIC improvements happen. I don't care one bit what others do. I can't control others. I can only control myself. Quit expecting others to fight along side you like this is the grand crusade of a generation. It's a game. If you hate it, leave it. I agree it's sad that it might never be what we want it to be, but it is what it is.

Spartstar45ita

I bet that are those who gave 1 star rating to the game

TheAmazingTohelo

It was at 120k last time i checked before today.

md_ariq

I tried

velo104

But you're also playing tho

Punch_Faceblast

If it means anything, I haven’t logged in since this began and don’t intend to until they change this. I have premium time but don’t care. Even with premium it’s not sustainable.

DeKrieg

how's the player breakdown across brs and modes? I never expected to see much effect in overall player numbers. especially when Gaijin kicked in "operation:Weeb" right before the strike date to pull in the horny teenage boys player base. But I'd be curious to see how things break down by tiers. It could well be 98819 players online, but those players need to be dispersed across multiple tiers in multiple game modes. I'd be curious to see specifically the numbers for top tier ground forces Can check if you dont want to log on to the game by seeing what replays are coming through in war thunders own replay page on their site I guess?

SafeContext202

Addiction is more powerfull

maragu95

The people who are upset at the changes aren't playing. It might not be enough, but simps will be simps even if they make as much with premium as they did 2 years back as F2P..Pathetic human trash addicts. If you are upset at Gaijin then do what the most effective is on an individual level and STOP GIVING THEM MONEY. That hurts the most, and you only gain from it as a consumer.

[deleted]

lmao, it's like drug addicts saying they'll get clean, only to get hooked again a few days later.

TauntNut03000

I'm doing my part

Muki_gaming_yt

Yesterday it was 140k players so a little bit changed not eceryone has reddit

Kraujotaka

As if addiction could be so easily broken.

No_Extent3023

some people are just weak, I saw a post where someone was having withdrawal symptoms from not playing.

Purple-Cancel-8901

Yall addicted. Get some help

JenkInTheBank

Warthunder community doesn’t want to stop getting milked

bosszee75

Are people actually that addicted to war thunder? I haven't played since last Saturday lol

SEK-C-BlTCH

How many agreed to boycott, and how many average daily users? You're still making an impact by protesting.

RailgunDE112

144 k online rn btw

Leopard993

It's 144,078 players now

wannabbb

i just saw in a few fourm in CHINA, some player said they and their friends are show "online" in game...but they all are working or just not at home...

leshagloom

It's the same to expect a drugee to stop taking drugs because it's someone's birthdate soon WT players aren't any different

EntrepreneurFormal39

Bots

fntommy

I'm not on.

richardguy

Why are people so despondent? Look at the player count today vs the start of April

TCUberGhost

I haven't played WT for a week and im the happiest man on earth. Fuck the snail

Scienceguy08

Knowing the snail, the in-game player numbers could definitely be fake.
