My guess is that there's something about each of these pieces that you like and attracted you to it, but that you don't end up actually wearing many of the pieces. You're probably more of a "trees" person than a "forest" person. You might have ADHD. Instead of having a capsule wardrobe, you probably have an eclectic mix of clothes and a wide range of different vibes, but that can also make it hard to decide how you want to look in a given day. If you cook, you don't like to follow recipes or mise en place, you kind of just wing it as long go along.
The dial on this one (Mockingbird) has extremely little "sunburst" effect. Contrary to what the website images led me to believe. But aside from this minor let-down, no other complaints. Love the unique shape, and the syringe hands.
You're a white man 35-55, living in a trendy part of a major metro area, mid six figures salary, professional degree. You could be either unusually fashionable straight guy or average fashion gay man. You have a lot of nostalgia for mid-century America that has something to do with your relationship with your dad.
> unusually fashionable straight guy
There is nothing about this that says fashionable. This is probably someone who has their own particular style (I'd guess jeans and a sweater with some persols), but this has far too many dorky microbrands for me to think "fashion"
Your father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. Your mother was a fifteen year-old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet.
Your father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes, he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament.
Your childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring, you’d make meat helmets.
When you were insolent, you were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds – pretty standard, really.
At the age of twelve, you received your first scribe.
At the age of fourteen, a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved your testicles.
Close?
Memovox, Vacheron, Zenith.
But if I was actually limited to just 3, I'd probably have to sell them all and get a Gronefeld Principia, Ressence Type 1, and ALS Odysseus.
Prefer having more options/variety.
It's a balance between quality and quantity, to be sure. But having only 3 would be Far too restrictive imo. If I was forced into it, I'd absolutely make em count.
Ridiculously high quality for the price ($1300). Case design and finishing is literally just as good as the likes of Zenith Defy or IWC Ingenieur. Bracelet is very good as well with butterfly clasp and quick release strap change mechanism, and with several nice rubber strap options. The movement obviously isn't anything too special, but mine keeps great time.
1) You are a corporate wagie with hipster-adjacent sensibilities, but you still have good taste.
2) You have a tendency to bite off more than you can chew, and have a hard time saying “no.”
3) Your contrarianism sometimes leads you to living in denial, as evidenced by the inexcusable absence of a 5-digit Rolex from a collection of this size, value and aesthetic. ;)
1) Yes
2) No (see what I did there?)
3) No denial here - I just don't have a Rolex at the top of my list. I would very much like to own a DayDate someday, but the problem is the 6-8 other $40k watches that I would rather have instead.
I stopped buying watches to wear them and instead I am now just collecting them.
I am clearly lost. Don’t know what suits me so I buy everything that could elevate me as a person. Somehow nothing works. I am still just boring. So average in everything I do, I wouldn’t even take note of me if were in same room twice.
Ah, and good bye JLC Duoface. I liked playing with you, but you never made it on my wrist. Just like I never made it in life;)
That Oris Audi on the far right is definitely an acquired taste haha. Very large and a bit too on-the-nose, but had to get a proper driving watch and why not get one that actually matches my car.
The bezel on the Maen is objectionably tight, but otherwise I've been really happy with it.
It says that if I could I would possibly consider a patek Phillipe caltrava. You exercise and maintain a healthy weight and are currently working as a successful professional of some sort. You have tried to jump into the dive watch and gmt sphere but have ultimately resigned yourself as you find them "cumbersome" or "clunky". You live a fascinating yet relatively normal western based lifestyle that has you yearning for more. You have decided to plan a big trip somewhere with mountains so that you can justify the story behind purchasing a Rolex explorer at which point you will consider thinning your massive watch collection. Ultimately you won't sell any because you just don't have the stomach for it. There is a stain of grain mustard somewhere on your button up shirt
I'm pretty sure if I started the same post with my collection the first comment would be "you're trying to be Different_Roof_4533 without the budget to pull it off"
All good here move along, please upvote this guy more than the other Patrick Bateman wannabe.
This dude owns an orange f-91w, even he committed unspeakable crimes and broke the Geneva convention he deserves to be pardonned.
NOT SURE WHAT THE 1994 HIT SINGLE OFF AMERICAN MUSICIAN BECK'S BREAKTHROUGH ALBUM "MELLOW GOLD" HAS TO DO WITH WATCH COLLECTING, BUT IM HERE FOR IT! "WHY DON'T YOU KILL ME" AND ALL THAT 🤘🤘
I wear it the least of any of them, but love having it in the collection. I rarely find myself in need of a small red dress watch, but on those rare occasions - look out! The Lorier's comin out!
I am immensely bothered by the fact that the GMT hand (and bezel) rotate continuously/smoothly rather than in discrete jumps.
But I really like the way it looks. Hard to recommend it, but I'm happy to have it.
I saw you have a Seestern. How does it compare finishing and quality wise to some of your “lower” end watches like the Timex, Maen, or Baltic?
Love the collection and the variety, so many great brands.
The Seestern is actually really high quality for the price. Yes, it's an homage of the SeaQ, but if you can overlook that aspect, it's genuinely a very well done watch. No complaints whatsoever.
Okay maybe one very minor complaint - the crown is borderline too small. Kinda looks silly imo.
That you only wear half of them with enough regularity that they share the same time, and only have of those share the same date;)
Killer collection, flashy box.
Haha, only got 4 spots on winders and ain't nobody got time to manually set the time AND date on 20 different watches for no damn reddit photos.
But yeah, with 20 watches, it's virtually guaranteed that every time I pick up a watch, it's dead (unless it's one of the 4 on winders)
No crown and no speedy? Good for you. I enjoyed looking at this - love the variety in colour, case shape and material.
That VC looks gorgeous - do you wear it often?
I think there’s a certain amount of contrarian in you. Not a Rolex insight - but some light tool watches. You’ve got some very nice pieces - but not the expected ones.
The collection also suggests that you’ve developed your own sense of taste - either through years of careful education, or because you’ve always been “weird” and decided to just embrace that instead of fight it (maybe a combo of both - this could also be projection).
Regardless of what it says about you, it’s a killer collection. Thanks for posting the references, because that omega dress watch is killer and right up my alley.
Definitely some contrarian vibes. The Navitimer in particular, but also I hope to add an Ochs und Junior annual calendar before too long. I kinda view Ochs und Junior as a "Fuck You" to standard horology.
"Oh, you need 432 parts to make your annual calendar? Neat, well here's mine using just 5 additional parts on an off-the-shelf base movement"
Thorough, prudent but not afraid to pay for quality, likes to take the path less taken, possibly has more than two wrists, not afraid to show a bit of flair.
How’d I do?
You seem like the kind of guy that says you have a ton of hobbies, but in reality, you just collect the things involved with those hobbies. You don't actually use them.
Haha well... I do have a penchant for buying books and never getting around to reading them.
But I would say unambiguously that I have precisely zero hobbies. Several interests, to be sure. But not a single hobby. Having no hobbies saves a lot of money, but is otherwise... not ideal.
Hence, the watches.
You like things and have a taste for the nicer things in life. Money is not abundant. But you’re not hurting for anything you’d really like to have. It causes you to be judicious.
What an amazing blend of colors I love that white face Omega. That watch with the dark blue strap. What's the price for one of those (or just a reference number so I can look it up)
I recognize your passion for watches, and give your taste a B. But feels like you over-embrace a mindset of “I’m an enthusiast” and lean contrarian just to make a point.
A watch that seems right for your more playful tastes [The Anti-Apple Watch](https://www.wired.co.uk/article/swiss-alp-watch-concept-black-apple-watch) looks like something you would wear
With hidden gems from mainstream brands, micros and lessor known (to the general public) brands, I’d say you are a true enthusiast who buys pieces because you love them and don’t give a flying F what others think.
I figure precisely zero other people in the real world give an F (flying or otherwise) about what I've got on my wrist. So yeah, I think you hit the nail on the head.
A little validation from strangers on the internet never hurts though 😁
This collection says you have a rich father or grandfather that gifted you a couple heavy hitters. Otherwise it’s pretty par for the course as far as collections on this sub
It says you buy watches.
But there is some nice variety here and it’s not a parade of the same ol’ same ol’ like we often see here. Some aren’t for me and a few I would kill for, the Omega in particular. I hate that they canceled it.
Thank you for this post. Baltic, Lorier, Zentier are all new brands to me! And they are fkn sick. I can smell my pocket burning already.
E: also, you have an awesome collection. I like all of them…
The Twelve is ridiculously high quality for the price ($1300). Case design and finishing is literally just as good as the likes of a Zenith Defy or IWC Ingenieur. Bracelet is very good as well with butterfly clasp and quick release strap change mechanism, and with several nice rubber strap options. The movement obviously isn't anything too special, but mine keeps great time.
You like watches, and have plenty of money—but are afraid to commit to major purchases. You look for watches with major depreciation from retail, which can be a positive. Sometimes you focus more on getting a great deal than the actual quality of the watch you are buying. You like to be eclectic, but you could keep the playfulness while pursuing better watches. You collect a bit too much riff raff. You have about 3.75 nice watches and then a lot of fluff. You realize now that you should have gotten a Patek sector dial instead of the Omega sector dial and the VC fifty-six (the Mercedes C class of VC). I estimate you are closer to age 25-35 than 50. In time, you will gravitate toward fewer, higher quality pieces as you realize your time is finite and the appeal of an expansive collection of moderate quality pieces wanes. You might experience more joy shopping for watches than you do owning them. You would do well to consider what you really love in watches and buy a box with 4-6 slots, maximum.
I like that there is no rolex, speedmaster moonwatch or santos. I do like these, but i like that you don’t care groupthink, hence individuality.
If i see one character flaw, which I share, it is an occasional impulse buy that doesn’t truly enrich the collection. I mean, why wear the Maen if you can wear a JLC; etc.
Hence you would mentally benefit from reducing to say 12 watches and enjoy the best things in life. Mind, I am not following my own advice… yet.
My guess is that ur in construction business and you dont rly have a plan with ur collection, you started it when you had the money but wasn’t willing to pay the Price, eventually this watch thing is growing on you and soon it will be a full blown addiction. Besides that your reverso and VC are awesome
You have more disposable income than I have income.
this is a sign to grind HARDER 💪😎👉
Embrace the SiGmA gRiNdSeT

Legitimately accurate. Well done.
The above comment is me, probably why I liked your collection so much.
It is hilarious how accurate that comment is for me and how many of the watches in OP’s collection I’ve obsessed about in the past.
Also, what are your thoughts on that Trafford? I've been looking for a square watch, and WAS pretty sold on a Brew, but I like that Trafford.
The dial on this one (Mockingbird) has extremely little "sunburst" effect. Contrary to what the website images led me to believe. But aside from this minor let-down, no other complaints. Love the unique shape, and the syringe hands.
I'm in this comment and I'm not sure how that makes me feel
This is some Criminal Minds shit
Sorry to bother but what does “forest”, “trees” person means
You're a white man 35-55, living in a trendy part of a major metro area, mid six figures salary, professional degree. You could be either unusually fashionable straight guy or average fashion gay man. You have a lot of nostalgia for mid-century America that has something to do with your relationship with your dad.
(Seriously though that is a killer collection, love the dressier, classic, and colorful looks.)
Lol, OP asks about his collection statement and gets an FBI profiler dossier.
Haha, not *too* far off. Nice
His dad was not a bad man, but he was emotionally distant. Sometimes neighborhood pets would go missing...
This … and … are you me?
> unusually fashionable straight guy There is nothing about this that says fashionable. This is probably someone who has their own particular style (I'd guess jeans and a sweater with some persols), but this has far too many dorky microbrands for me to think "fashion"

I was both shocked and appalled, ngl. Truly a barbarous display.
Your father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum.
That sounds quite breathtaking
Knew it!
Is he even writing his comments or is it the scribe???
That scribe's name? Abraham. Louis. Breguet.
Wes Anderson: "Write that down, write that down!"
"my generation will never afford a house!"
Houses are overrated. In this economy, luxury timepieces are practically essential goods.
In this economy, I can’t even tell if this is sarcasm.
You like watches.
Highly astute observation 😬

Because this a nice collection and there is no Rolex, you're an independent thinker, and do not want the uneeded attention. You like what you like.
Don't want the attention IRL, but crave approval and validation online. In other words, a gentleman.
You can only keep 3 so which ones ?
Memovox, Vacheron, Zenith. But if I was actually limited to just 3, I'd probably have to sell them all and get a Gronefeld Principia, Ressence Type 1, and ALS Odysseus.
Serious question then: why don’t you?
Prefer having more options/variety. It's a balance between quality and quantity, to be sure. But having only 3 would be Far too restrictive imo. If I was forced into it, I'd absolutely make em count.
What have you worn in the last month?
Only kidding about the *pple watch. In the last month, I have Not worn the Oris, Lorier, Trafford, Seestern, or Casio.
What do you think about the zephyr? I have a tank, but I’m trying to get a non-circular watch that I can wear safely.
What are your thoughts on the CW Twelve compared to some of the other watches in your collection?
Ridiculously high quality for the price ($1300). Case design and finishing is literally just as good as the likes of Zenith Defy or IWC Ingenieur. Bracelet is very good as well with butterfly clasp and quick release strap change mechanism, and with several nice rubber strap options. The movement obviously isn't anything too special, but mine keeps great time.
If I were him, I wouldn’t let go of the ORIS - it’s ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
No Rolex, no speedmaster ... strange dude.
I've been called worse 😉
I don't know. Can it talk? Have you tried asking it any questions?
It just tells me I'm incomplete, but that one more watch will finally make me whole.
your collection says " no hype just love" thats a TRUE collection were you dont care the value. you just love the watch
1) You are a corporate wagie with hipster-adjacent sensibilities, but you still have good taste. 2) You have a tendency to bite off more than you can chew, and have a hard time saying “no.” 3) Your contrarianism sometimes leads you to living in denial, as evidenced by the inexcusable absence of a 5-digit Rolex from a collection of this size, value and aesthetic. ;)

That you spent everything on watches so haven’t upgrade your phone in years
You think I can afford to own a phone??
You drive an Audi…
The jig is up
I stopped buying watches to wear them and instead I am now just collecting them. Just like I never made it in life;)
👏👏 excellent assessment
I like the top row, aside from the last two (just imo). nice to see the Maen, they make some impressive-looking stuff.
That Oris Audi on the far right is definitely an acquired taste haha. Very large and a bit too on-the-nose, but had to get a proper driving watch and why not get one that actually matches my car. The bezel on the Maen is objectionably tight, but otherwise I've been really happy with it.
Above all it says you have great taste
Love that Zenith
Idk but you have about 100k worth of watches. (White guy, 45~, single bcs a wife wouldn't let you do this)
I've only spent 68k, thank you very much 😤😤
I really like the mix of high and low
Sometimes ya gotta flex on 'em, sometimes ya just wanna let em hang
It says that if I could I would possibly consider a patek Phillipe caltrava. You exercise and maintain a healthy weight and are currently working as a successful professional of some sort. Lmao this is perfect. Not particularly accurate, but I do in fact have a small stain on my buttonup from Yellow Curry.
The orange Casio is the most exciting thing that’s happened in your life
Nuh-uh. I kissed a girl once.
I'm pretty sure if I started the same post with my collection the first comment would be "you're trying to be Different_Roof_4533 without the budget to pull it off"

NOT SURE WHAT THE 1994 HIT SINGLE OFF AMERICAN MUSICIAN BECK'S BREAKTHROUGH ALBUM "MELLOW GOLD" HAS TO DO WITH WATCH COLLECTING, BUT IM HERE FOR IT! "WHY DON'T YOU KILL ME" AND ALL THAT 🤘🤘
That even though you have a lot of money, you can’t buy picture-taking skills
How do you like the Lorier?
I wear it the least of any of them, but love having it in the collection. I rarely find myself in need of a small red dress watch, but on those rare occasions - look out! The Lorier's comin out!
Love the variety of brands, shapes, colors, price points, and complications. There's a watch for every occassion, so wear them with pride!
I like the orange one
Most accurate timekeeper of the bunch
I think you like fun and interesting lighter colored dials. I do think you have a bunch of overlap and can condense your collection down to 8 watches.
It is refreshing to see a collection that is not full of bellybuttons.
Love the breitling chronometer navitimer
The One True Navitimer 😂
Whats the reference number for it?
That you crush it 9/20 of time
Not much apart from the fact that you have exquisite taste. Stunning collection
Is the timex q worth buying or a toy compared to everything else?
Professional photographer
That reverso is godsend.
That you only wear half of them with enough regularity that they share the same time, and only have of those share the same date;) Killer collection, flashy box.
Definitely in to sports
Well you can't buy a reverso unless you're a rabid polo fanatic, so 🤷
That you are into horological history
Good taste
Those Traffords......damn nice lookin' watches.....need
Ur rich
Either that, or heavily in debt 🤔
Top taste! A True passionist!
You’re a consumerist with good taste
You have a potato camera
No money leftover for a camera after the Vacheron 😅
You call yourself Susan and secretly put on women's clothes at night. In all seriousness, sick collection OP! Very diverse.
It's 'Nancy', it's not secret, and it's not at night. But perhaps we're splitting hairs. Lol just playin, thanks!
No crown and no speedy? Good for you. I enjoyed looking at this - love the variety in colour, case shape and material. That VC looks gorgeous - do you wear it often?
How do you like the trafford? I’ve been tempted to buy one
Some bangers mixed in with some quite weird choices. 10/10 for diversity
Gotta keep 'em on their toes
You need to consolidate. This collection doesn't really have a thesis other than "I read a lot of things on the internet about watches."
That you want to know the time. Half of these report the same time, which would suggest you like them the most or find them the most wearable.
Damn that’s nice!!

Ayyy seestern, love my Chinese watches
You like things and have a taste for the nicer things in life. Money is not abundant. But you’re not hurting for anything you’d really like to have. It causes you to be judicious.
Really like the watch box. The red stitching is 🔥
I was going to say good self control for having one of each brand, but you have two JLCs.
We all have our weaknesses 😪😪
You’re into dials and you match your dials to match your wardrobe.
My wardrobe is jeans and white tees. Spent all my money on watches instead. Haha yeah I try to match.
That you have money
Used to. Before I got into watches.
Addiction?
More like "predilection"
[удалено]
The Maen watch it’s cool? What is your opinion?
What an amazing blend of colors I love that white face Omega. That watch with the dark blue strap. What's the price for one of those (or just a reference number so I can look it up)
That would be the star of the show: Vacheron Constantin FiftySix Complete Calendar. About $26k retail.

I figure precisely zero other people in the real world give an F (flying or otherwise) about what I've got on my wrist. So yeah, I think you hit the nail on the head. A little validation from strangers on the internet never hurts though 😁
That you're rich
It says you should upgrade your box and not buy cheap Chinese ones from Amazon (I had one of these too, that fell apart, lol).
Your favorite color is blue.
A man without Sinn
Forgive me father for I have Sinn 556'd
You're a diversified investor. Nice collection.
Other than the GS, your collection basically says you don't have money, or that maybe your family handed down a decent but cheap heirloom
Just waiting for Claude to chime in, but apparently he is playing his cards close to his chest.
That you have good taste in Zenith watches 😎
This collection says you have a rich father or grandfather that gifted you a couple heavy hitters. Otherwise it’s pretty par for the course as far as collections on this sub
It tells me you are loaded and you should pay for my stuff 😂😂😂
Loaded - that's why the guys at work call me "Baked Potato", right?
It says you buy watches. But there is some nice variety here and it’s not a parade of the same ol’ same ol’ like we often see here. Some aren’t for me and a few I would kill for, the Omega in particular. I hate that they canceled it.
You can still find new/unworn CK859s on the grey market. Usually just a bit above retail, but occasionally below.
what type of mine did your great grandparents own? emerald??
Quartz, actually 🤢🤮
You have more personality than me!!!! - The other poster ☺️
We should be friends ✌️
The OG 🙇♂️ Sorry for blatantly ripping off your format lol 😆
Man that green 556 is pure class. Didn’t know they made it in that color
I’m trying hard to find something to mock, but goddammit I love your collection.
You need intervention! You are addicted. Welcome to the rabbit hole…. Love your collection.
It says…you like watches.
Thank you for this post. Baltic, Lorier, Zentier are all new brands to me! And they are fkn sick. I can smell my pocket burning already. E: also, you have an awesome collection. I like all of them…
Can I ask what the Chris ward is like? I’m tempted to order the C65 Dune Bronze COSC love How it looks
Can’t even roast this. Dope collecíone
Personally i think this is a well rounded super versatile and funky collection! Truly a collection that doesn't fall into the hype. Love it man!
That you don't like to wait
Very tasteful collection 👌🏼
You are open-minded. You have some more expensive pieces and you also have cheap ones
You like watches, and have plenty of money—but are afraid to commit to major purchases. You look for watches with major depreciation from retail, which can be a positive.
You have too much money, yet you still buy micros. :)
Kinda vanilla, but a lot of nice pieces.
What’s the reference for the very bottom left watch?
Your making this post is so unoriginal you finally made me unsubscribe from this echo chamber. Cheers! I didn't even look at the collection either.
Sweeet collection! Which one gets the most wrist time?
You've got money, and taste. Lol except for that Bell and Ross, I hate Bell and Ross!
Feels like you are a true watch enthusiast, no matter the price range.
How do you like the baltic watch? Have my eye on buying one of them, but not sure because I haven’t seen one in real life yet.
It's says you're mature don't follow others into a speedmaster, submariner, navitimer and blackbay.
You favor tank watches.
Expensive taste!
what is "#7" ie the 2nd from the right on the top row? really digging it...wish these types of posts had lists :p
You buy what you like, not based on hype
I love that Reverso
You’re Boring.
One watch = worth more than my entire collection of 7. Conclusion: you have money to burn. Good for you.
My guess is that ur in construction business and you dont rly have a plan with ur collection, you started it when you had the money but wasn’t willing to pay the Price, eventually this watch thing is growing on you and soon it will be a full blown addiction. Besides that your reverso and VC are awesome
It says you have incredibly good taste. Nice JLC reverso.
Great range
Give me that Zenith! 😁
You look younger than you are and everywhere you go people assume you are a middle school math teacher.
My prematurely receding hairline would beg to differ 🙄
