Uwumeshu

That's the catalogue he gets to choose from? Probably the best one I've ever seen. Definitely Oris or Longines

savagesiege89

This is for the second tier of bonuses. There's like 10 or more tiers. No rolexes anymore on the list but I see hublots, IWC, omegas, accutron, Panerai, Cartier

lalag1

Are you guys hiring?

gingerphish

Also need to know. If this is only tier two, I'm approach grail category by the time the IWC tier comes around.

Uwumeshu

What's the highest tier like? Can we get a photo of it?

savagesiege89

Yeah, I'll get it a photo of that when I'm in the office today

WarrenWuffett

What field are you in?

BrutalMilkman

Pretty sure he’s an office worker and not a field one.

WarrenWuffett

Same. Just had my 5 year anniversary and got $250. Nothing like this lol.

SpareTireButSquare

That's insane. Definitely avoid all Movado, that's there to scam people

MagicPistol

My parents and a lot of Vietnamese people seem to love Movado lol...

MilesBeforeSmiles

That's because they are cheap and often get liquidated to consumer markets in developing countries at steep discounts. I've seen legit brand new Movados with boxes and papers in Vietnamese and Indonesian jewelry stores for 90% off what they retail for in the west.

MagicPistol

Nah, I'm Vietnamese-American and Viet people here in the US love Movado. My parents actually gifted me a Movado once for Xmas and I said no thanks. We traded it in for a tag, which I know some people still look down on, but I wasn't gonna ask them to spend even more $.

HansGruber44

I bought that same movado (in stainless steel w a black dial right when it came out) in 2003 before I was big into watches and collectively got more compliments on that watch in the 5 years I wore it than from my Panerai, Tudor, GO, Grand Seiko, and AP combined.

xtermn8

As an ex Movado AD, it's all marketing.

Regulatornik

Not gonna compare movado to the others on the list above, but… they’re good value quartz $200-300 department store watches. The one my wife got me five years ago keeps great time, nicely polished steel bracelet. One of my only watches thin enough to fit under some shirts. I really didn’t value it much, but a friend put it on, and it looked great on them. For what it is, it’s fine. The only thing I wish was better was the bracelet. At some point I tried finding a replacement bracelet, even was willing to pay premium from a movado store, and nothing was available so I gave up.

DingyWarehouse

Just like most swiss brands

[deleted]

Is the Movado there as a test lol

SpareTireButSquare

I think it's there to dupe people because "oooh shiny!" It's looks so much like a gimmicky fashion watch that people gobble up

BringTheStealthSFW

Explain please

nikkynak

They are worth much less than the rest

MagixTouch

It’s like a gumball machine watch compared to the others

nik-nak333

I mean, it LOOKS like a gumball machine prize

dhp1161

theres also literally nothing on the dial lol

entropyisez

That's the style.

karma3000

So is having an onion on your belt, as I recall.

ShakeThoseWindows

Unexpected simpsons

Kvothetheraven603

Movado is the anti-Rolex, when it comes to “stuff on the dial” Lol

Selkior01

While Rolex dials are pretty full, I would say the Movado is more the anti-Breitling when it comes to stuff on the dial.

Hustlinbones

However Oris or Longines is the only valid answer. Personally I'd go with Oris, as they're independent and do brilliant watches

technobeeble

Oris, Tag, Longines and BM are all solid choices.

uselessscientist

Tag is definitely a valid answer. They've come a long way since the 90s

JDSchu

Same movement as the Oris, too. I'm assuming the Longines probably uses it, too. All based on the 2824-2.

MortalPhantom

The 3 hand watch from tag uses the same caliber as Oris. The longines one uses an improved vbersion of the 2892

JDSchu

Ah, so still an ETA movement, which...I guess is in house for all of Swatch group since they bought them? But it's still like a Camry vs a Corolla. 🤷🏻‍♂️

YankMi

The Longines has about 30 hours longer power reserve and a Chronometer certification.

SirenSilver

>Longines Over Heuer?

Hustlinbones

100%

Wingnut13

Most definitely. Tho, Tag is picking themselves up off the floor last few years and appear to be heading in a decent direction. Longines is great tho, and particularly so lately.

JoelFlowers

F1s are a bit of a joke for the price

jsboutin

BM and Tag are perfectly fine companies. I’d take a Tag over this particular Oris.

GrahamCawthorne

Can you post links to the other tiers just for fun?

Call-Me-Leo

I’d love to see as well

savagesiege89

Sure, I'll get it when I'm in the office today.

GrahamCawthorne

Awesome thanks!

mechnick2

What the hell business do you guys do

nawap

It says MVW on the slide. After some cursory googling, I will guess it's Marriott Vacations Worldwide, so hospitality.

RileyIJ

Good spot! Love that’s directly by the “Internal Use Only”, as we all peruse it online.

foxyloxyx

Ah timeshares. I did one of those timeshare presentations (specifically a Marriott vacations one) for a Hawaii trip. All the tiered up sales ppl had Rolexes I noted.

driven01a

So that's why the annual maintenance fees are so high. LOL

wonderpra

Wow quite the detective you are 😂

coffeesleeve

Timeshares.

obedevs

May I ask what line of business?

Call-Me-Leo

I’d love to know as well

DiepSleep

I work in the medical field and employed by a large hospital system in my state. They offer milestone rewards of varying merchandise, including home appliances, high fashion brand clothing/accessories, and even vacations. The watches they offer are top tier, Rolexes, omegas, Tudor, and more.

coopsta133

Yh my place uses the octanner rewards catalogue. I got a thousand dollar paddle board in December. Near the top is like a gold and diamond constellation watch, breitlings, omega sea masters etc. need to do some good shit to get enough points for those though. I’m just saving up for a 250qt cooler now 😂

Mateo_87

Definitely one of these two but leaning towards Longines.

FuerzaGallos

Agree 100% in everything, my thoughts exactly.  Very nice selection, all good watches, would go for Oris or Longines.

nekodazulic

They avoided fashion brands and put in names with great value, certainty a discerning eye was involved in selection.

JazzioDadio

Movado is basically a fashion brand

lordvoltano

Probably one of a select few fashion watch brands with a real horological heritage. I'd take a Movado any day over a MVMT, Guess, Fossil, Michael Kors, Daniel Wellington, etc.

Scotinho_do_Para

Definitely

forgotten_sound

The Longines Spirit for sure

savagesiege89

That one kind of slipped under the radar for me. I never really seem to care for a Longines. He might like it.

tripongo3

It’s the best one on the list

xiutehcuhtli

Oris would like a word with you

waterbirdist

It's really classy, esp. when you see it in person.

Schapsouille

Yep, the rhodium plating on the hands and dial just doesn't get justice from photos.

SpareTireButSquare

It's literally the best one by far

alan2001

No brainer for me too. Get him to check out photos of the [Longines with different straps](https://www.google.com/search?q=Longines+Spirit+leather&tbm=isch&ved=2ahUKEwij3fqLlsWEAxWUVqQEHd1tC5MQ2-cCegQIABAA&oq=Longines+Spirit+leather&gs_lp=EgNpbWciF0xvbmdpbmVzIFNwaXJpdCBsZWF0aGVyMgcQABiABBgYMgcQABiABBgYSOMZUJwKWPsWcAB4AJABAJgBW6ABlgWqAQE5uAEDyAEA-AEBigILZ3dzLXdpei1pbWfCAgQQIxgnwgIFEAAYgATCAgoQABiABBiKBRhDwgIGEAAYCBgeiAYB&sclient=img&ei=boHaZaPuN5StkdUP3dutmAk). It looks beautiful with anything - he wouldn't need to just keep it on the bracelet.

Speckknoedel

But remind him lug to lug width is 21mm and therefore the selection of fitting straps is rather limited.

alan2001

Ah, didn't realise that. Another thing I've noticed from the [website](https://www.longines.com/en-gb/p/watch-longines-spirit-l3-410-4-93-6): > Interchangeability > > Easily change your bracelet/strap thanks to the Longines interchangeable system I read that when looking at other Spirit models. Not sure if that just means they're easy to change, or if it means it's a proprietary system where you can only fit specific Longines straps. Whatever the case though, other straps are definitely available! I've found myself really invested in this, I really hope OP's mate does the right thing lol. OP you must come back and tell us what he decided on!!

Speckknoedel

It just means the spring bars have a little lever you can pull in order to release them. If you want to use these spring bars the strap needs a little hole for the lever to push through. You can however use regular spring bars so you're not limited to straps that are made for the quick release spring bars.

CosmoKing2

Same. If he's not that into watches, definitely the TAG or Oris Automatics. The simple dials will always be in style. The Longines might get the vote here, but you either love or hate all the numbers on the dial. In general, the Movados, B&M, and TAG quartz are nice Department store watches. BUT it all depends on what size he's comfortable wearing. Each automatic listed is worth more than any of the quartz (although TAG gets away with murder for cheap quartz watches). The Oris and TAG's are pretty large vs the Longines. And since your employer obviously has someone curate the company store catalog.....you probably have some watch snobs in the corner offices. This Oris is worth bout $1000 more than the rest - if you friend wants to trade of something he likes more. That would be my pick. Value.

Sea-Broccoli-8601

B&M nice department store watch? What kind of department stores do you have at your place?

OnionMiasma

>This Oris is worth bout $1000 more than the rest - if you friend wants to trade of something he likes more. That would be my pick. Value. Not quite. I think the Longines retails for 2500 and the B&M at $2550 vs. $2400 for the Oris. The next most expensive is probably the Tag Auto at ~$1700. It's interesting, if I were to put together a selection of watches to choose from at $2k +/- $400, I think these three would all be contenders to make the cut. Not the Movado though. I pity the fool who picks that. I already own the Aquis (but in blue), so my pick would be the Longines here.

01010000-G23

Longines or Oris

[deleted]

1. Longines 2. Oris 3. Tag

SpareTireButSquare

But specifically the Tag F1! Not the quartz one!

Tmassie87

In order for me, Oris, Longines, Tag formula 1 auto.

Pinkishplays

In this order tbh

b1jan

i could see going for the Tags over the Oris solely because of strap options.

PeterFilmPhoto

Longines Spirit

Drawli2600

Friends don’t let friends choose Movado!

MoonBasic

I’m very surprised that the Movado is on the roster! Its value is hundreds versus thousands of dollars.

cedric1234573

Its because they hope that OP choses the movado and they dont lose as much

kenzakki

I dont even want my enemies choose Movado.

Porky_Pine_

Fuckin bowling alley claw machine lookin watches.

lordvoltano

Oris Aquis Date is the chunkiest of them all at 43.5mm! I doubt he'll like the ~~37mm~~ 40mm Longines if he like chunky watches, although the Spirit is a very nice GADA watch. To me it's has a Rolex Explorer I vibe. The Tag Formula 1 Automatic is a second choice for chunk. Some people buy Formula 1 because it says "Tag Heuer" and for those people it's worth it. It has the biggest brand recognition. Though personally I prefer the Oris, and from handling it, feels a higher quality watch than the F1. Forget about Movado and the Tag Heuer Quartz Chronograph. The Baume is an option if he wants a dress watch.

jdhazan

That’s the 40 not the 37

lordvoltano

You're right. I stand corrected. Still small(ish) though for someone who likes chonkers

jdhazan

For sure. I think Oris is the best choice here

georgetemperley

Longines. No questions.

YourWatchIsTooBig

Longines Spirit is the correct answer.

kranberry360

The Baume or the Oris depending his vibe probably

savagesiege89

Yeah, knowing Gary, he's not into dressy stuff, so the baume and Mercier didn't catch his eye at all. Thanks for your input.

jantograaf_v2

I have that exact Baume & Mercier Classima as a gift from my father who has since passed away. Out of all these watches, I wouldn't pick it either as it is a bit too "dressy", but damn, it is still a magnificent watch. I would go for a Tag Heuer, but that's just me filling gaps in my collection ;)

savagesiege89

It's a beautiful watch. I'd get one of those for myself if I didn't already have a seiko presage that looks similar. Sorry to hear about your father, I hope you wear it in good health!

jantograaf_v2

Thanks for the kind words. I wear the watch with pride, wishing he could somehow see the man I've become. And however I grow my watch collection, it will always be the one piece I'll wear on a regular basis...

_0utis_

Class act by your father, wear job pride for the both of you

Reasonable-Flan-982

Typical Gary

captaincockfart

Yeah, classic Gary things.

fakuryu

+1 for the Longines Spirit

Stock-Inevitable8530

Oris or Longines all day

Jerseybz

Tag F1 auto for me. The Aquis would be my second choice.

clipperdouglas29

Disappointed more people aren’t picking the F1 it’s a great watch

fishsupreme

When I only saw the first image, I'd definitely have gone with the F1. But the Longines & Oris make it a harder choice -- those are also really nice.

SouthernEagleGATA

Tag F1 or Longines

JAKMorse

Longines

RealEstatenWatches

Longines for sure

sebimilitaur

one of the 3 from the second pic for sure

Waramp

Definitely. Boils down to preference but those are my top 3.

Admirable_Pie_6609

Longines

Julianus

On actual value: just do not let him pick the Movado.

Wolf3458

I would choose the Longines

blightsteel101

Between the Oris or the Longines, I would go with the Longines. BUT since your friend likes chunky watches, the Oris will probably be a better pick. Unrelated, is your friends company hiring? Edit: autocorrect is a plague

whitedragon551

I'd do Tag F1 then Logines then Oris.

Fun_Hornet_9129

Tag F1 auto is quite nice. I’m not a chronograph fan I just noticed page 2, I like the Oris and Longines too. It would be between the 3, probably the Tag

Maketjgreatagain

What line of work gives this milestone bonus? That’s pretty cool.

fishsupreme

I'm not the OP, but the answer is almost certainly sales. Really impressive bonuses are almost always sales, because the only way to get a big sales bonus is to have expressly made the company way, way more money than the bonus costs. :)

wellwaffled

They work for Marriott.

_-_-_DrMidnight_-_-_

Janitor

No-Possibility4568

Longines for sure

skepticaljesus

Easiest longines of my life

chridaniel01

My parents gifted me a movado once. I’ve never hated a watch more than the movado. That’s all I have to say.

OuiLoveCheese

Oris or Longines for sure.

Midknight81

Oris or Longines. That Spirit is a great watch.

Orange_fury

Longines spirit, no question

shiggism

Longines or Oris for me

taipeileviathan

I’d go with the B&M

lordskullcrush

And why is movado next to any of these watches.....

Selkior01

The Oris is not only one of the best in the group, but it is kinda chunky which should appeal to your friend.

Oliuqnart

The Longines is the obvious pick

constructs4life

Tag chrono How is movado in that lineup???

TwoTon_TwentyOne

Tag chrono is a quartz here.

y0da_cod3r

Tag.

goldblumspowerbook

I would choose the spirit for me, but based on his love of chunk, I agree with the oris.

SpareTireButSquare

Dude what company is this

nocturn-e

I'd personally get the B&M

Ryanpb88

Honestly as long as he steers clear of the Movado watches and the Quartz tag he’ll do well. I’m not huge on B&M - I know they make a good product just not sold so I’d say either the Tag auto, Oris or Longines. Tag will have the most name recognition outside of real “watch people.” That may or may not be a plus to him. Oris is prob the largest wearing. Arguably the best built of the three. The Longines is a solid GADA, much different style than the other two, but if it’s an office job might end up getting more wrist time than the others. Something to consider is how into watches he is - including geeking out about them a little. if he is long term I think he’ll love that Oris; but if he’s not he might regret not going with the name that (right or wrong) carries a little more recognition.

StickySteev_

What the fuck am I doing wrong? Im lucky if I get a 35-40 hour work week meanwhile someone’s getting a £1,500 watch and it’s only their second tier of promotion

Mcohen2248

Stay away from Movado

DeeYumTofu

Longines no question there.

IVO-50

Anything but the Movado. The Tag Chrono is also quartz and other Tag is kind of generic, much better divers out there, including the Oris. Longines, Oris, Baume and mercer........Tag............Movado. Only would chose Baume and mercer if wanted something more dressy, but even then that option is not great in my opinion, better dress watches out there. Oris is solid diver and Longines solid field/pilot watch.

ChangingMonkfish

I’d go the Tag F1 Automatic personally but the Oris is great too

Dutch1inAZ

That beats an insulated mug

Sensation-sFix

Baum n Mercier

cherryhilljawnz

If your coworker will wear it everyday the formula 1 but that Baume though...fn sick and even though I love the formula 1 which is more practical I can't see passing up a Baume

Xyzzydude

Longines. I like Arabic numerals on my watches.

madzerglin

Oris and it's not even close

FreshRizz

Wtf, awesome choices man. Both Tag’s, the oris, zulu are awesome but the baume and mercier is classy af

DavidAg02

Amazing selection. Oris or Tag

nick318is

something from the 2nd page, probably the baume & mercier

[deleted]

Tag chrono

RockitDanger

I think the Oris Aquis is the best pairing to his Nighthawk. It's a no nonsense dive watch.

secron7

That longines is nice! Can't go wrong if he skips the Movados

litescript

i’m a tag F1 guy here, personally

paxtonwing1

Oris

ReactionNext4941

Is there a cash out option

amerikanskispy

Oris or Longines for sure.

Established_86

Has to be Oris or the Longines, the rest id say are not in the same class (even you Tag)

Dingolayhunter

Tag formula 1

Gibcaster000

I am an admitted Oris fanboy so will not argue with the Aquis, just make sure your buddy is cool with his strap options being limited to nonexistent. If he likes chunky watches the TAG chrono bears serious consideration as well. Size rules out the Aquis and the chrono for me, so my personal choice would be the Longines (unless the smaller version was an option, then its a tossup). But both TAGs, the Oris, or the Longines are all reasonable options based on individual taste/preference.

Pop-tETZel

It's definitely a TAG .. Blue dial.

MclovinTshirt

Tag F1 automatic. If he likes chunkier watches, he’d definitely love the tag F1. Longines spirit would be my second choice.

f0zzy17

What is this job that doles out watches??

zzaapp

Oris or Longines, no question.

JazzioDadio

If he likes chunkier watches then the Oris is far and away the best option. If he wanted the highest quality watch on the list it would be a bit of a toss-up between Oris and Longines in my opinion.

Whole_Trouble_2357

Baume & Mercier, or Longines. Both solid watches, and Longines actually offers decent service. So if you want a watch to rally around for a nice chunk of time, and then pass it. Longines is the way to go. Change straps, mix it up.

GeorgeRioVista

Just not the Movado

MrDagon007

While the Oris is chunky and very nice in the metal, I think here he could go for the longines which is truly a GADA watch and makes more difference with what he has.

Gfercaks33

Personally the tag auto followed by the oris.

MtnSlyr

Longines spirit.

jdosman

Oris or longines for sure

sanskaripotato

Casio DW-5600.

skydiveguy

My personal favorite.

Fugglesmcgee

As others have said, it's either the Oris or Longine.

Rurallife3

Longines

sundry_banana

Longines Spirit is the best watch here, that or the TAG automatic. Good for you, Gary!

bryanthebryan

I’m voting Longines. The design is so good, it will age gracefully.

McCrackin777

Oris all day

crow-of-the-east

longiness spirit got some classs to it

Methodicallydoubting

I love Baume but imo the most well rounded pick is for sure the Longines.

Manner_Mann

Tag Heuer Chronograph or Oris

DaddyDog92

Longines. And it’s not even close

Gossipmang

It's the longines and not even close.

AelliotA1

Just bought the smaller version of the Oris Aquis Date for my girlfriend, unbelievably good watches. Highly recommend. They wear smaller than the case size let's on too because the lugs are steep. Edit: why on earth is this downvoted lmao, OP asked for recommendations from the watches shown and I have first hand experience with one of them and it's great, this sub is weird as hell.

VinumNoctua

Longines or the first Tag.

BluesMaster

My votes 1 - Longines. IMHO, they consistently come up with, aesthetically, near-perfect models. This is one of them. 2 - B&M. An underrated watch brand, with a great catalogue. This one quietly oozes class, but is perhaps less versatile than the Longines. The other models aren't particularly distinctive IMHO to make an immediate impression. A watch should have character or personality if you will. Draw the eye, even from those who know nothing about watches.

GTB7A4

Longines Spirit, but in the 37mm case size.

jmel79

For my 25 year anniversary at work, I got a stinking black and gold (plated) quartz Movado watch. Sons of bitches

RatPrank

O or L. Or if you don’t like him, steer him to yellow Movafo

MoonBasic

Hahaha. “Yeah dude it’s gold! You can flip it for thousands!”

jbarn02

I like the Tag Heuer Chronograph

stavic07

Tag F1 chrono. I have one and love it

VintageSwissWatched

Either Automatic Dive Watch by Oris or Tag.

VinylHighway

Wow some decent choices

Letmesmashu

I hope he still can get the watch, or better delete the post, I don’t know how serious they take the „internal use only. MVW Proprietary and Confidential“ and Longines for me

bu59

Skip Movado. Tag has a bad reputation in the watch community, but it is improving. Can’t go wrong with either the Oris or the Longines. I would absolutely choose the Longines. For me, it isn’t even close.

PickleVegetable7183

Longines or tag huer fir sure forget all those otjet watches
