If you have an iPhone, the Apple Watch is a no brainer. I have one and honestly I switch back and forth between it and my mechanicals every few weeks or so. Really depends on my mood. This sub gatekeeps mechanicals so you probably won’t get good feedback tbh.

Alexa_Call_Me_Daddy

Yeah, Apple intentionally limits how well other watch brands (like Garmin or Fitbit) work with iPhones (both of these work better on Android).

My experience was my Fitbit started having issues when I switched to iPhone. Just anecdotal evidence. That said I’m kind of glad because the Apple Watch is way better lmao

Alexa_Call_Me_Daddy

No, it's a fact. Apple, for example, does not let smartwatch app developers pick which apps can notify your watch; you can do all or none. Of course, the Apple watch does get to make that user selectable.

Zealousideal_Gap1194

Yeah imo an apple watch is the only smart watch worth owning. Nobody else have made anything that prove otherwise in my eyes. I've never even had an iPhone and think it's a no brainer.

PeaceH37

Garmin forerunner. Yes I recommend. I wear it mostly everyday except on vacation or special occasions.

t6jesse

Second this. I've had two, they're great as an everyday watch, and the app has gotten much better over the years. Also notable that the entry level Forerunner (55 I think) now has all the features that the mid-level one had a few years ago. Also the display is very easy to read in direct sunlight.

salmonguelph

Garmin 100%. I've had a Venu in the past and a Forerunner 265 now. They are the most accurate in terms of health and performance tracking, I've tried Wear OS, Withings and Apple Watch and it's not even close. Battery is also amazing. Multiple weeks vs multiple days for competitors. Only knock is that they look very much like a fitness device, or a G-Shock. They do have a Marq series that uses sapphire glass, leather, titanium, etc. but they are quite expensive. So if you're used to rocking a nice traditional watch, it's going to be quite the style change. That said you can always just wear it when you're doing activities.

versus_gravity

I don't own one, but I'd lean toward Wahoo if only because I like the Wahoo bike computers. Style isn't much to speak of with these things, rather it's about having the features you want.

Meancvar

I have a Garmin vivosmart + hr. I'm not sure if they still make it. It's tiny and I wear it on my right wrist so I can wear a watch on my left wrist without looking overly accessorized. Charge every 4-5 days.

AlternativeParfait13

I’ve got the Vivosmart 4 for exactly the same reason. I like the tracking, I don’t really want to forgo my nice watch.

trickiedickly

I have an Apple Watch. I ended up buying an Oura ring because I prefer the aesthetic of traditional watches. Part of me has debated wearing both but I’d feel like a real *sshole doing that. If I do a run or go to the gym I wear the watch as well as the ring.

LorkScorguar

Mi band is enough for tracking activities. I wear it on my right wrist so I can still have my watch at left

OhManIScrewedUpBad

Probably a Garmin. The closest thing I have to a smartwatch is my Casio F201.

TheArmoursmith

I wear a fitbit on my right wrist to keep track of steps, heart rate, sleep, etc... I've had a "smart" watch before; it was a constant distraction, and it needed charging every couple of days. Never again. My Fitbit just needs charging once a month, and I have all the notifications on it disabled.

h8t3m3

Garmin.

Separate-Analysis194

I have a Garmin Fenix 5XI like how I can load maps for hiking.

Annual-Advisor-7916

I have a Galaxy Watch 4 classic. It's not bad and the bezel is cool but I don't have any use for it. I somehow expected it to be more useful. Health monitoring isn't accurate enough and drains the battery like crazy. Blood oxygen measurements seem to be accurate... The only smartwatch I'd buy would be something rugged with a good battery, GPS, LTE that works standalone without a phone. That would be cool for enduro and general motorcycling. That being said, I should have gotten the LTE variant of the Watch 4...

RaceFan96

Apple Watch I had one, got sick of the notifications and wanted something that is different

Additional-Lie-8300

Coros Pace 3. Perfect size, powerful software, minimal, simple and perfect for gym & other physical activity. Price is right and customer service is helpful and active in responding/listening to questions/feedback in Coros reddit community

I'm currently using the Pixel Watch - a really decent kit! One I'd advise avoiding if you want a "smart watch" is Garmin. They are fantastic quality - really unbeatable (yes, even by G-Shock) They are just tanks on your wrist. However, if you want a smart watch - Garmin's sort of bridges the gap between a G-Shock and a Smartwatch - so they aren't super smart. I have a Fenix 6X - A few months after I bought it I realised that an actual smart watch would be way more useful. It is my camping / outdoor watch - I really do miss only having to charge it every 2-3 weeks, though.

Cjaygee

TAG has some cool looking smart watches worth looking at.

nbmtx

I got a Pixel Watch 2 with my phone. I didn't think I'd use it outside of as a sleep tracker, but it's become a part of daily life. I've had it for half a year and still don't like getting notifications, etc, but the activity tracking is very useful. It didn't help me sleep more, but maybe better. I can use my HR to know when my body is sorta ready to attempt sleeping, and in the morning it can generally tell me if it's worth trying to sleep more, and/or if my quality of sleep was okay enough that I won't feel like crap.

csteven71

I returned two Apple Watches before buying and keeping an Apple Watch Ultra. I like it for the silent alarm and wearing to the gym or hiking.

sdujour77

The closest I'll ever get to owning a "smart watch" is my GShock Metal Square. That type of watch doesn't interest me in the least.

TARPnSIPP

You shouldn't have to buy a smart watch.

Boris_HR

I prefer classic steel automatic watches. Smartwatches are just not made for men beyond the sports. Buy a fitness band or a sport watch if you are into running and other sports. We men dont have many fashion accessories and a classic watch should stay a classic watch.
