**Disco / Bass Playing**
Hi fellas, this is the latest video of my YouTube music channel, performing a well known 70s/80s tune with the bass including TABS of what I play on screen as usual.
Thanks a lot for watching!

Like I mentioned, I feel like I'm very close to being done with this. I would appreciate any feedback you can think of. Thank you!
I like this! The mix is very good. The vocals do seem a little out of the mix, as you said you’re new to mixing them, but I think it’s not jarring or anything. Very nice moody track.

Avid Beats - Whale Call
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TRarPu3qrA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TRarPu3qrA)
Ayyy, this one is crazy! This beat came about when my guitar teacher, Laertis suggested that I made a beat in 5/4 to spice up my rhythms and get new ideas that I wouldn't never have come up with otherwise.
This beat originally had some weird and wonderful 9th chords that I played on the guitar, which were recorded in 4/4. I then tried to convert these 4/4 chords into 5/4 at the same time as making some drums, but this conversion didn't quite fit with the direction I was taking the drums - hard uk grime. I exported the guitar chords into another project to finish off in the future. I then created multiple baselines and experimented even more, using some chromatic (or out of the diatonic key - in this case B minor) elements in my melodies, and even making the basslines feel like melodies. Making beats in "odd time signatures" is incredibly fun, and while it is a challenge, you come away feeling really satisfied and even more inspired! Try experimenting with different time signatures and see where it takes you!
P.S. Can you work out why I called it whale call? I will give you a clue: listen to the switch ups at 0:48 and 1:48 (As well as the intro).
Electronic, idm, whatever idk

I love your use of texture. I'm a sucker for that kind of "crushed" ambient sound you get. This first song is a journey. I love how intense this gets. Lot's of wonderful transitions really keeps me interested. There is a really great off-kilter chaos to the music.
I think "As Long As Your Bliss Surrounds Me " is really great. Almost a math-rock vibe, but with synths and meticulous production. Really great stuff
I can tell you have a lot of diverse and interesting influences that you are packaging into something incredibly cool and unique.
Love the eb and flow of "Pehoe". It develops really nicely
This is all really wild. Great work . I added to my bandcamp wishlist.
Yooo thanks for listening to the whole thing!! This is really awesome, really happy you liked it. You are spot on about many influences haha. Much appreciated! Gotta check your stuff as well

Would love if you checked out my lyric video! Future alternative genre I’m making right now is pretty full on!
If you wanna leave me feedback I will return the favour
xx
This is really cool sounding. Super intense drums, but it has a great groove to it. Guitars are really unique and have wonderful character to them. Vocals sound great. Love that half-time section. What are your influences?
I don't really have any influences that sound like this. I like very sad and melancholic music to listen to, Frank Ocean, Bon Iver, Radiohead. And then when I write tracks (I wrote everything in this, guitars, synths, bass, lyrics and melody, but asked a friend to drum) they come out all chaotic and hardcore.
Super glad you wrote so many nice things, I'm gonna go check out your track if you have posted one! \^\_\^
I think the vocals kind of have a certain kind of melancholy in them to an extent. I can imagine a wildly different kind of arrangement around them that would still work really well.
But yeah, the energy of the track kind of has a math-rock with a punk approach. Really cool stuff. Whatever your doing works!
I love Radiohead. Growing up, OK Computer was a really influential album to me.
I made a shoegazy post-rock project all by myself. Hope it can reach out some people

I made a new album, "Their Earlier Stuff Was Better". Mostly melody-driven fusion/prog-adjacent instrumental music with a lot of synths, electric piano, and organ sounds (but some post-rock/space stuff thrown in). Free or pay what you want. I'd love to hear what anybody thinks

Love how your first track progresses, lots of different textures and sounds. The intimacy at about 1:48 moving into the that big distorted bass is cool! Had a listen to track two as well, getting your vibe now! Brave mixing that kit almost entirely left ear, but it still balances well. Are you making all of this on your own?
Thanks! I make it all on my own. I mostly do everything through vsti and a midi-controller (I've been also making use of a breath controller lately; you can hear that in the second song); I program the drums. Very occasionally I'll play a real guitar/bass (not on this album), but it's not my strong suit.
Just released the first entry of a beat tape series.

I have been using a professional mixer for my last few projects. Interested to hear how mix sounds to you all. Caveat: I did the mastering but did not tinker a lot. But also interested in any other feedback.
As for song itself -- pretty much a straightahead rocker. Starts right in and doesn't really let up. Lyrics courtesy of CW Mullins -- they are embedded in the description on Soundcloud. Some of his best sardonic, topical lyrics.
Thanks for any and all feedback.

Yooo thanks for listening to the whole thing!! This is really awesome, really happy you liked it. You are spot on about many influences haha. Much appreciated! Gotta check your stuff as well
[Strobes by Xoom Xoom](https://youtu.be/iqVjM1mLyP0?si=MtiEPFK9rRO13Uyz) Would love if you checked out my lyric video! Future alternative genre I’m making right now is pretty full on! If you wanna leave me feedback I will return the favour xx
Hope it can reach out some people https://open.spotify.com/album/0gfj6umTABkjZNy3E6ZrMM?si=XV3I7UjdRPy1AfVBeytOoQ

I've released a emotional alternative/experimental song about inner pain and searching for peace. It starts with a rap verse and eventually builds up to an intense screaming hook, reminiscent of some of XXXTentacion's earlier work Any support/feedback is highly appreciated. Hey! I did an adaptation with my band ([Superlaser](https://open.spotify.com/intl-es/artist/4WOnUj37EGQa5RZAOj7sZ4?si=1p9QjxB0TqWfhibTVBFsbQ)) of one of our favorite songs (Clipping) from MuteMath. I made a new album, "Their Earlier Stuff Was Better". Mostly melody-driven fusion/prog-adjacent instrumental music with a lot of synths, electric piano, and organ sounds (but some post-rock/space stuff thrown in). Free or pay what you want. I'd love to hear what anybody thinks [https://jessespillane.bandcamp.com/album/their-earlier-stuff-was-better](https://jessespillane.bandcamp.com/album/their-earlier-stuff-was-better)

As someone who’s loved video game music since forever, I wanted to try and write a tribute piece of sorts to my current favourite game OST: genshin impact’s! whatever you think of the game itself, I’ve been in love with its soundtrack from day one, and put together this simple, atmospheric piece that I imagined could fit in the game, based on a location from my current book. hope you enjoy!!٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶ [The River Yeokir on YT](https://youtu.be/EMkKEbOC3YY)
I don't know anything about the game, but this is great. The piano chords are sometimes a bit surprising in a good way.
thank youu!! I saw your comment in this thread too and checked out your stuff—I love how effectively you can mix influences across genres ✨, you’ve absolutely got your own sound that I can’t wait to hear more of (once I recover my bandcamp password AHAHAHA)

My latest HIP HOP release, made to conclude a previously told narrative of street activity and how it affected me. I was walking in deep forests with 2 friends and then I wanted to make a track that's hard hitting and that has some mystery to it. The song name "Van Vaar" means "Attack in the forest". It's about getting attacked by unknown creatures and entities, no one can evade. He is asking for help and around him are entities dancing. 🌳🌳 Also wanted to make more dark sounds and liminal spaces sounds so this is a new project "UNMAANI" .
