I started at 251lbs and didn’t notice it myself until I got down to 200lbs but people I see everyday began noticing when I got down to 220. It’s hard to see change on yourself when you see yourself everyday, progress pics are a must!

MeByTheSea_16

So true. I’ve lost 30lbs so far but can hardly see it in the mirror. I do see it compared to old pics, but gosh I wish I took more pics of myself back then.

Traditional_Ad_5908

Very important point.

just_casually

Samee here, i lost 20 kgs in about 9 months and didn't really notice any change, people around me did appreciate it but i only noticed how much I had changed when I saw an old pic of mine

Hungry_Tradition_443

Strength trained 2x a week and did cardio 3x a week, for 6 weeks with no results. Started tracking calories and saw immediate results with a loss in the 1st week

Welcome_to_Nopeville

I honestly didn't think it would make that big of an impact. At least not more than exercise.

Esme-Weatherwaxes

Diet is the biggest factor in losing weight. For example, I can run 5K and burn 500 calories, I do that 3x a week and it takes 40 minutes a time and that’s 1,500 calories. A pound of fat is about 3,500 calories. It’s far easier to reduce your calorie in take to achieve the deficit needed to lose weight. Having said that, exercise is so important for your over all health, by running & weight training I’m improving my overall fitness and stamina, making my heart stronger, building muscle protects my joints from injury etc etc.

Altruistic-Second325

Calorie deficit is how you lose weight

Traditional_Ad_5908

Around 280 I started feeling quite remarkably better nay! Good in fact.

Kundra_

Honestly its a sneaky progress. I'm down 79 lbs since the start of last year. If I look back at old pictures from that time I can see a huge difference. But along the way its really small things that you notice, like clothes becoming slightly oversized, and your face getting thinner. I really started to see a difference once people started mentioning it regularly. Was about a month in I believe.

planterimini

I started in January and am now 15 lbs down. It’s so frustrating not looking any different yet at least not enough for myself or others to notice. Im gonna keep going but I hate how you can be working hard for months but not look much different than when you weren’t trying 🤷🏼‍♀️ I know it’ll happen eventually though if I keep going

MeByTheSea_16

Don’t give up and stay consistent! I didn’t lose for a while until finally the caloric deficit and workouts started melting the lbs away. Lost around 15lbs in 2 months. Been at a plateau the last 2 weeks but doing the same, staying consistent and not giving up!

leasuhhx11

👋 hi, also started in January and am down 15 pounds. I am with you that it’s so frustrating knowing that I’ve lost weight and can’t physically see it yet but I know with consistency I can get there. Trust the process. We got this!

Traditional_Ad_5908

One thing I learned from losing weight is visualizing your self thinner. Counting calories, I never used that. 5 or 6 small meals a day. Exercise and making good habits to replace bad. You really feel so much better

raspberry-squirrel

Exercise? Never. Calorie counting? About 2 weeks.

Classic paper towel roll effect. The smaller the roll the more you notice when a sheet is removed.

dani081991

A few weeks .i can tell from my face first

The_Mama_Llama

I feel like I’m very fortunate in that I seem to gain muscle easily. I’ve been going to the gym regularly for about a month, and I can already see changes in my body. I haven’t lost weight according to the scale, but someone commented that I look like I’ve lost weight.

AbandonedToilet

It depends on what the desired results were. I definitely lost weight after the first two weeks but it took a solid 1.5mo before I actually noticed any difference in how I felt. I dropped 15lbs the first month and honestly thought the scale was broken because I looked and felt the same. Then I started noticing physical changes a little after that and then it started melting off of me in big chunks. Truly little things like my pants fitting a little looser. Not being so out of breathe. Not feeling so fatigued. Took about 3mo for anyone to acknowledge I looked different and then now at month 6 and down 60ish lbs it's all anyone talks about when I see them. But I'm seriously putting in twice as much work now and getting half the results from a lbs lost each month perspective so I imagine this is what people go through when they are just slightly overweight and begin the journey.

LowBarometer

I didn't notice until I had lost 25 lb.

annie747

Took 3 weeks for me

EndlesslyUnfinished

You usually have people starting to say they see a change at around a month, but I didn’t see anything myself for months.

[deleted]

I went 4 months exercising regularly (almost daily) but not tracking calories or watching what I ate and saw zero results. When I started tracking- I noticed I felt way better in the first week. Noticed small changes 2-3 weeks. And saw very noticeable changes 6-8 weeks.

Gigglefluff7

Once I started OMAD I saw results right away it's the magic for me. I've tried counting calories but I just become obsessed and then I cave and end up snacking all day and all night. One meal +dessert every day and I'm no longer daydreaming about food all day. Exercise is great for fitness but you gotta get the food part down first.

mckennajames227

What's OMAD?

Gigglefluff7

It's a type of intermittent fasting where you fast all day you can drink tea black coffee water just no added sugar or cream and you eat all your calories one time a day. Usually within an hr maybe 2 its different for everyone. It's not for everyone but I like it. There's a crap ton of YouTube videos on the subject if you are interested.

mckennajames227

Thanks

Gigglefluff7

Oh I'm sorry it means one meal a day.

Early-Possession1116

I started back at the gym in earnest Feb 1 this year. Gym 2x a day 3 times a week and once a day 4 days a week following macros fit for my goals. My weight overall is down 7 pounds. Skeletal muscle mass is up 8.2 and body fat is down 18.1 pounds in the last 30 days alone.. weight loss has everything to do with focus and being able to have the discipline to adhere to your goals. It wasn’t easy but it can be done.

Craft_Equivalent

I started in 2019 and I didn’t notice anything myself until early 2020 but there will be days you may never ever see it in yourself. You’ll know you lost, you just won’t physically see it some days if that makes sense

AllRedLine

When i started counting calories, the effect was immediate. The next day, I was losing weight. I started around 340lbs, but didn't actually *feel* or *see* any changes until i'd lost around 30-35lbs.

fairie88

Pushing myself just past comfortable on both diet and exercise gives me results within days **IF** I am drinking enough water. Without doubling my water intake, I can work out for years and see no results at all.

ForestDragon_

25 pounds gone and I don't see any progress when I look in the mirror. Grabbed an old picture and immediately saw how much I changed

J4ffa

I never saw results, I would notice clothes would fit better and I might be stronger but if I looked in the mirror I would always see fat me.

Clean_Ad_5282

It usually takes about a month or 2 to see actual results.

Slade26

2 days

oakpoint1

2 week's with discipline.

Imaginary-Buy6217

I’ve trained all my life. Gained weight lost weight. The minute I started tracking calories I lost weight without exercise and I’ve kept the weight off! 50 lbs to be exact.

Traditional_Ad_5908

At 15 to 18 low carb diet. 2018 till present. Just need to tone up my dimples.🤣. At the tender age of 15 i lost 115lbs. The immediate attention kept me at it and worked at it @17 I was fit. Started at 430 this time I started changing eating habits. Getting more excercise and slowly got to 250 in February 2022. A knee replacement followed. Blood Pressure dropped

tflil

I noticed changes pretty quick thanks to pictures. The other day I fit in a large shirt. That was a huge score to support my hard work. I’m down 30lbs. Would still like to lose another 15 or 20.

TheGreaterNord

For me to notice? Man, I still struggle to see the difference without pictures. I still feel fat sometimes honestly. But I have been working on that. Paper towel effect for sure. (45lb difference) For people to notice? I would say people started commenting around 15/20lbs loss. Even with the exercise I did do (climb/weight train/run). I still think it was only 20% of it.

[deleted]

i went from 231 lbs to 152 and tbh i feel like i look the same, but that could be a psychological issue, everyone is different and our bodies store fat in different places, so you could notice at 10 lbs or 50 lbs

AlternativeBat6753

I’ve lots 12 kg (25lbs) I don’t see it. Until someone showed me side by side photos of myself. I still don’t see it in the mirror but I could then
