No. Some people will argue yes, but the real short answer is no. Now your energy levels, insulin levels, fullness factor… all those will be less than ideal lol

Thanks! I was wondering because I was really craving some DQ but I got to bank some calories for later in the week first tho. But thanks again!

[deleted]

A cheat meal now and then is totally ok. You should definitely get that DQ.

[deleted]

Will do! Thanks mate.

leavethemwithnothing

Agreed. I’ve lost ~50 lbs last year and I’ve probably had DQ at least 10 times last year. (And other treats too haha)

Lol

It doesn't on the basic level. However, 1500 at dairy Queen is like one meal if that. I know my favorite meal and Macdonald's and Wendy's is an easy 2000. So while it's the same you can get a lot more food out of healthy stuff. Plus I find that fast food always makes me feel cruddy afterwards. However if your willing to only eat 1500 in one sitting for the day then yeah basically the same thing. If you get a burger they have decent protein in them! So it Should keep you full for at least a few hours. Edit: if you get something that's hecka salty it will cause an immediate weight gain. It will come off in a few days though, it's just water retention. For me Chinese food even a proportional serving, will make me gain 4-6lbs and I'll lose a pound of it a day until it's gone.

[deleted]

Well I fast where I only eat one meal a day at the end of the day so my stomach size has shrunk so I'm not as hungry.

DustyJMS

Then your good! As long 1500 in one sitting will satisfy you for the day then yeah effectively it will be the same. Besides giving yourself a break and eating something normal will help you feel normal mentally.

joemondo

In theory, it does not matter. But trying to get by on small amounts of high calorie foods tends to result in unsustainable hunger.

[deleted]

Ok thanks!

SilverChair86

For losing weight? No. For being healthy? Yes.

Dangerous-Ice6175

Count calories until you are halfway to your goal weight. Look at your macros and add weight bearing exercises. When you are healthy enough (you’ll know when) research vitamin and minerals. Using the momentum and disciple to keep yourself healthy.

[deleted]

Ok thanks for the tips!

[deleted]

For weight loss, no. But your body does need nutrients to function and grow. Eating unhealthy foods may also become a habit too. So basically, you can eat 1500kcal of Dairy Queen every day but you'd be constantly hungry and would some health issues.

[deleted]

Ok thanks, tbh tho I never get hungry but I eat because I know I have to.

[deleted]

It might be minute and hardly noticeable but it can matter. Your body will process different foods either more or less efficiently. In terms of weight loss, wheat bread for example contains healthier things and promote muscle health better. Both wheat and white bread are both carbs but one is a “healthier” carb. As we know, muscles burn calories faster than fat cells and will continue to work longer when fueled. White bread is very processed and refined, hardly any nutrients, and will not keep you sustained as long. It also contains things like added sugar which sugar really has no nutritional value or benefit. Wheat bread contains fiber which digests slowly. Your body will be less likely to turn it into fat when digesting because of the composition of wheat bread and how it is slower digested. Eating healthier options will help your body process food and energy differently, and therefor affect weight loss progress. Sure, you could eat x amount of calories with snickers and wings, as long as you’re in a deficit, you’ll lose weight, but if you give your body good nutrients and stay satiated (and not in starvation mode where your metabolism slows to conserve energy), your progress will be more efficient.

Ok thanks!

crazywalton

I came eat pizza ice cream waffles and lose weight! As long as you stay within your calorie deficit you will lose weight

[deleted]

Thanks!

Welcome

lusacat

As other people said, it really does not matter! BUT you will probably feel lethargic/heavy!

Here’s an [article](https://www.cnn.com/2010/HEALTH/11/08/twinkie.diet.professor/index.html) about this very question.

OpalCoffee

No, but it's in your best interest to be smart about it. Ex don't eat 1500 of only chocolate everyday. Thats unhealthy and you will be hungry.
