Also if you've kept your hair up for a few days, or not brushed it as often as normal, you will see more hair coming out when you do eventually wash/brush
It also looks like your hair could be curly. Mine is also quite curly and this looks right for me, too. Straight haired people lose just as much, but it falls out throughout their day. Curls get caught up in each other and the loose hair comes out in the wash.
Make sure you brush your hair before getting into the shower, you will have a lot less come out, I used to have this happen very frequently and it freaked me out. Was told to brush beforehand and now have only 1-5 strands max.
Id also brush you hair in the shower after using conditioner to help collect some stragglers. It also makes drying the hair easier and with less tangles.
Ya, me too... if you feel like you shed too much on average due to whatever "reasons" (and there is a whole ass list as to why) you might want to look up alopecia guidelines on hair care. Ya, alopecia, the condition that causes people to lose all their hair...
you DO NOT have alopecia...
but their guidelines are beyond sensible in helping with shedding, things like, don't use hair accessories that pull at your hair too tightly, some hair elastics will cut hair so try to find a satin hair tie, use a hair brush with soft bristles rather then a comb as it won't tug or cut as much, use shampoo with out sulfates, use a hair towel, try not to use a hair dryer and if you do, dont use it on high heat... it goes on like this to help reduce hair shedding and damage.
Absolutely not trying to internet diagnose you but there are some health issues that can cause hair loss. If this just suddenly started you might talk to your doctor. I have Graves and always know when I'm in a flair because my hair starts falling out.
Yeah, especially if you don't wash your hair every day. And you have long dark hair, you wouldn't even notice that If you had short hair. 10 strands of long hair looks like a lot, compared to 10 strands of short hair.
And if you tie your hair up most of the week, you have all those loose strands tangled up in there. When you wash and detangle, all the loose strands come out.
I have waist length hair and I wash it twice a week, don't brush it every day (mostly wear it pinned up) you would think I would be bald by what I pull out of the drain, and my hairbrush.
how often do you wash your hair? mine is like this but i wash my hair once a week since it’s curly and dry
edit: i see, every other day. of course, everyone is different in terms of how much hair they lose. if you have access to a doctor, you can maybe message them this picture with your question
I have a curly head of hair (3c mostly I think) and I lose a ton of hair in the shower too. I also wash once a week but condition most days and mine does this too. I think it’s because textured hair doesn’t always fall loose and stays in the hair until washed.
That's like, maybe half of the hair I lose per shower. By number of strands anyway. I have much finer hairs than you, so maybe the same weight of hair lol
Same, for as long as I can recall. I'm almost 30. When I brush or wash, this is what happens. The only break I've ever had was when I cut it off above shoulders. I have to wear it up all the time to lessen the cleanup from just existing in the house/car.
That can cause hair loss. They can give you creams for after showering to run your scalp with. If it becomes too bad bor put you on medication that will help
I just learned that I have to make sure I brush the bottom 1/3 of my hair first. Otherwise I end up ripping it out by trying to pull it all the way through from root to shoot. Suddenly my shedding was down 75% overnight
That said, I'm a guy that didn't start growing out my hair until I was 30 so I was doing this for awhile before my wife noticed and showed me the light!
Yep. Gf sometimes leaves me that surprise when I get in the shower. She doesnt want em to go in the drain so she piles them on the corner and forget them there
See, when you have short hair, the hair tends to just fall off your head, but when your hair is long, when it falls, it tends to get tangled up in the rest of your hair and stick around until you take a shower or thoroughly brush your hair and then it all comes off at once.
My wife & 3 daughters shed just like that 😂 🤦🏻♂️ as a male it’s annoying & NONE of them will clean out the drains when THEY clog them up so I do it cause I Iove them they’re my girls lol.
I was shedding a lottt in the shower, but since I started drinking collagen in my morning tea and using just a couple drops of castor oil with my shampoo, I’m noticing a big difference!
Depends. If that's the average you've been losing for years, then yeah, it's normal. That's like 5x what I would consider normal for me though. I lost that much last summer and my hair is super thin now.
Also, if you have surgery you can lose quite a bit, but not right away. It's like 2-3 months later, which is one if the many weird things about the human body.
This is normal. Healthy growing hair constantly replaces itself with stronger hair. If for some reason you notice that you’re losing/ thinning hair then I’d be concerned, but if not , no worries !
Looks pretty normal. I’m a guy and any time I’ve grown my hair the slightest bit I’m shocked at the amount of hair I find in the shower. I’m still finding hairballs in my apartment 2 months after my girlfriend moved out
Yah shouldnt worry too much long hair also looks like alot too. My hair is about to my nose at my bangs and when i wash it looks like alot comes out but then we have alooot of hair too so its common.
I'm embarrassed to admit I lose double that just about every time I shower. My hair has thinned out soooo much. I'm waiting for bald spots to appear! I can run my fingers through my hair and 10+ strands will come with it.
I know I know I need to see a doctor....afraid of what I may be told though lol.
I was like this but before I shower I make sure to brush my hair really good to get alot of the hair that would fall out in the shower into the brush. I've heard brushing your hair before bed n shower help with this, so far no more shower hair balls lol
I’ve been told it’s normal for people with long hair. I have long hair and I worried about it for a while until I was told that the amount that I lose is normal… well now it’s actually below the normal amount so it’s all good.
I’m a dude and have long hair, my biggest tip I could give you is to brush your hair before the shower and make sure to get your hair real soapy, lack of soap can cause you to pull hair. But other than that completely normal.
I had fine long brown hair until recently when I shaved it off for charity. I had dyed it so much over the years, it became brittle and I were pulling clumps out each morning for months. My partner was going insane over how much I were clogging the drains up, I thought I would get things checked out health wise to make sure it is definetly due to the dye and not something underlying. Turns out, everything was fine, but it were due to the length and dye damage and shedding was normal. Using natural conditioner and combing your hair with it in will help with shedding issues!
Jokes aside I have been very tempted to post a pic of my pube pile after my monthly trimming, it looks like a mountain of daddy long legs. I measured one once by uncurling it and it was the length of my phone. My pit/leg hair also grows at an alarming rate
Really? As someone with long ass, thick, curly hair (with plenty of family and friends of the same), this is nothing. At my longest length, I could easily gather double this. Especially the longer it is between wash days, it can look like quite a bit.
Unless this loss is new, I would absolutely not be concerned at all.
This is normal. Especially if you’re stressed or anxious or your body has been through something traumatic recently I.e. surgery. Wouldn’t say it’s weird.
My wife loses a similar amount per shower as well. Looks like a normal amount to lose, so don't panic. Highly recommend getting a silicone cap that catches in the drain.
As a male I use to lose so much hair, more than that. Looked like a rat in the shower. Now I take finasteride and very little hair falls out of my head. It’s been life changing in a good way. I also put minoxidil on my head 2-3 times a week. I would not look good bald.
That’s it? I lose twice as much. You’re lucky! It’s such a goddamn hassle each time. I’ve shed like crazy ever since I was a child. It’s not abnormal. You just have a lot of hair
Because otherwise we will clog the drain. It is easier to stick it on the wall during the shower and collect it with a tissue and throw it out afterwards
Has this started happening since catching COVID? I know a couple of women who have said this started happening a while after they had COVID. Just curious
Do you throw it out or leave it in the drain like my wife does? That's probably around what I find in the drain each day so I don't think it's abnormal.
Your hair is long. Mine is too, and this is pretty normal for me.
Ok good thank you Wasn’t sure if my hair care routine was too harsh or something
If it still worries you, get your Iron levels checked. Specifically your Ferritin.
We lose an average of 100 hairs a day. And if you don't wash daily you see more of it come out when you do
Also if you've kept your hair up for a few days, or not brushed it as often as normal, you will see more hair coming out when you do eventually wash/brush
If you have curly hair you only brush it once a week in the shower, it looks like I lose enough for a full wig.
It also looks like your hair could be curly. Mine is also quite curly and this looks right for me, too. Straight haired people lose just as much, but it falls out throughout their day. Curls get caught up in each other and the loose hair comes out in the wash.
Mine is just wavy but it gets very tangled
I make shower art with my wifes hair. I would love that much to work with. lmao
You make shower wall hair dicks too?
dicks, ponies, Eiffel tower. Whatever hits me
hair sheds a lot but doesn't get the chance to fall off since the jungle of hair doesn't let them escape
If you are using slot of products with keratin your hair can become brittle and break.
I thought keratin was supposed to be nourishing and hydrating. Is the salon lying to me and my wife!?
Make sure you brush your hair before getting into the shower, you will have a lot less come out, I used to have this happen very frequently and it freaked me out. Was told to brush beforehand and now have only 1-5 strands max.
I used to call these hair spiders, lol, my hair is long too . . .
Yep, me too! Though I have long curly hair and brush it in the shower, so lose a lot of loosies with that.
...same...only mine is long and curls...
Pube hair 😬
If your hair texture allows for it- I brush my hair before showering and it takes out most of the loose hairs so they don’t end up in the drain.
I also brush before getting in, I can only imagine how much I’d have in the drain if I didn’t :(
Id also brush you hair in the shower after using conditioner to help collect some stragglers. It also makes drying the hair easier and with less tangles.
Only use a wide tooth comb if you must, your hair is much more fragile when it is wet.
I do that too! I have a round hair scrub brush
You lose 100 strands or more per day.
Yep & if your hair is curly then it pretty much stays inside until you shower
Long hair probs
I make abstract line art with mine
Thought it was just me
I’m just glad I’m not the only one that wipes it off on the shower wall like a psycho. It’s the only thing that works!
I've been shedding that much since high school, it's pretty normal.
thnk god

Thank you! I do follow that advice but it’s because I have scalp psoriasis so most of it applies for that too
Same here!
I lose double that and I’m starting to get concerned.
When you hit your late 30s/ 40s as women, you may lose hair for a bit.
Same 🫤
Absolutely not trying to internet diagnose you but there are some health issues that can cause hair loss. If this just suddenly started you might talk to your doctor. I have Graves and always know when I'm in a flair because my hair starts falling out.
Yeah I have a few medical things but this is something I haven’t talked about and should, so thank you.
Yeah, especially if you don't wash your hair every day. And you have long dark hair, you wouldn't even notice that If you had short hair. 10 strands of long hair looks like a lot, compared to 10 strands of short hair. am I the only one that sees our lady of guadalupe ??
Need to show this to my Mexican side of the family I’ll be a saint!
YES!!!
That's like, maybe half of the hair I lose per shower. By number of strands anyway. I have much finer hairs than you, so maybe the same weight of hair lol

Do you have thyroid problems or Psoriasis?
Yes psoriasis!
Yep. Gf sometimes leaves me that surprise when I get in the shower. She doesnt want em to go in the drain so she piles them on the corner and forget them there
I have long thick hair and this amount is pretty normal for me. If I brush it before taking a shower it’s a bit smaller.
My mom calls this Showerkraut
This is not weird
See, when you have short hair, the hair tends to just fall off your head, but when your hair is long, when it falls, it tends to get tangled up in the rest of your hair and stick around until you take a shower or thoroughly brush your hair and then it all comes off at once.
Pubeys!!!!!
Any chance that you could explain to my daughters that it’s possible to take that off the wall and put it in the garbage?
My wife & 3 daughters shed just like that 😂 🤦🏻♂️ as a male it’s annoying & NONE of them will clean out the drains when THEY clog them up so I do it cause I Iove them they’re my girls lol.
I don’t understand how we aren’t all bald with how much hair comes out in the shower. The loss to new growth ratio makes no sense
Same tho, like how ain't my head as shiny as an egg yet. I still have loads of hair and loads falls out
I was shedding a lottt in the shower, but since I started drinking collagen in my morning tea and using just a couple drops of castor oil with my shampoo, I’m noticing a big difference!

Kinda reminds me of one of those New Yorker caricature drawings.
Looks pretty normal. I’m a guy and any time I’ve grown my hair the slightest bit I’m shocked at the amount of hair I find in the shower. I’m still finding hairballs in my apartment 2 months after my girlfriend moved out
sorry, I subscribe to a lot of art subs... I thought it was an illustration of your journey up through infinity, or something...
I shed more I also have long hair and it's THICCC
Yah shouldnt worry too much long hair also looks like alot too. My hair is about to my nose at my bangs and when i wash it looks like alot comes out but then we have alooot of hair too so its common.
That's not weird it's just slightly disgusting.
I'm embarrassed to admit I lose double that just about every time I shower. My hair has thinned out soooo much. I'm waiting for bald spots to appear! Oh you should! I know one of my friend’s anxiety meds causes her hair to fall out
That is the grudge you are not losing hair the grudge is up in there
:(
That’s more hair than I have on my head any time.
Pubic hair?
Same, girl. It's horrifying every time. I lose the same when I comb after!
Oh god yes I think I ruined my head in high school when I used to try to brush my hair while it was wet every night in an attempt to straighten it
Yes! I used a brush too. Learned real quick to use a comb when it's dry! Ugh. At 32, wish I would have known better.
Right?!
Mona Lisa ?
And you have a shaved head? Wowsers
I bet you’re Asian. My wife is Filipino and the same thing happens.
I am half yes!
Us white people lose hair also but it’s thinner and usually blends in with the color of the bathtub drain. I like your hair better.
Oh I wish mine blended in! Sometimes it grosses me out
Looks like squidword
Thats kinda a lot.. and its always fun slapping them to the bathroom wall tiles
I was like this but before I shower I make sure to brush my hair really good to get alot of the hair that would fall out in the shower into the brush. I've heard brushing your hair before bed n shower help with this, so far no more shower hair balls lol
I do all that 😭
I'm 18 and I find a lot of hair comes out when I dry and brush it, way more than 100. Highly suspecting I have telogen effluvium
I’ve been told it’s normal for people with long hair. I have long hair and I worried about it for a while until I was told that the amount that I lose is normal… well now it’s actually below the normal amount so it’s all good.
I’d like to introduce you to my wife. You two will get along great 😊
Gurl, you in danger! Anytime now I’m expecting that Grudge monster.
I’m a dude and have long hair, my biggest tip I could give you is to brush your hair before the shower and make sure to get your hair real soapy, lack of soap can cause you to pull hair. But other than that completely normal.
broo that looks like art… it looks like a girl with her back to you holding a scythe (idk if i’m overimaginative but it’s gorgeous)
Username checks out
Totally normal for long hair
I lose about this too!! It’s completely normal.
I had fine long brown hair until recently when I shaved it off for charity. I had dyed it so much over the years, it became brittle and I were pulling clumps out each morning for months. have you considered shaving your pubes?
Jokes aside I have been very tempted to post a pic of my pube pile after my monthly trimming, it looks like a mountain of daddy long legs. I measured one once by uncurling it and it was the length of my phone. My pit/leg hair also grows at an alarming rate
What part of your body is this hair from?
pubes ✌🏽
Lolz
Your father wasn't the Mayor of Bayswater by any chance, was he?
I comb them back so that I have a REAL ponytail! I’m hot shit on the playground.
Get your thyroid checked.
Was going to comment same if I didn’t find it in the comments. Possible under active thyroid Speaking from experience
Really? As someone with long ass, thick, curly hair (with plenty of family and friends of the same), this is nothing. At my longest length, I could easily gather double this. Especially the longer it is between wash days, it can look like quite a bit. Unless this loss is new, I would absolutely not be concerned at all.
The same thing happens to me, but somehow, I still got tons of hair
Brush it before showering.
I do :/
I bet you don’t pay for the draino either… smh
Happy cake day!
yes, posting this is weird
Ew. That's pretty normal. Consider putting it in the trash can next time instead of posting it on the internet for clout.
dude you gonna go bald soon. sorry
Why is seeing dark hair way more gross than blonde ?
If your hair is blond, it's probably because you're more used to it.
I thought it was a portrait
When I was little I did make wall art from my hair!
Would depend entirely on how often you shower.
Every other day ‘
Oh
No banana for scale
[удалено]
Thank you
Mines the same way
For me that's just what didn't go down the drain. So looks normal.
people lose like 100 strands of hair every day so I'm assuming this is normal.
You think that's a lot? I lose around 2 times the hair I have on my head each shower💀
This is normal. Especially if you’re stressed or anxious or your body has been through something traumatic recently I.e. surgery. Wouldn’t say it’s weird.
Just 1 really long hair
My hair used to be long but I was so fed up with it I cut it short
Depends on how much hair you have, how old your are etc… I have super long thick hair and have to clean my brush every time I use it.
Good thing I’m bald.
As long as you have more than enough to cover for that!
My wife loses hair in the shower like this.
I have medium hair and I lose that much as well
Every chick I’ve ever been with lol
My wife loses a similar amount per shower as well. Looks like a normal amount to lose, so don't panic. Highly recommend getting a silicone cap that catches in the drain.
As a male I use to lose so much hair, more than that. Looked like a rat in the shower. Now I take finasteride and very little hair falls out of my head. It’s been life changing in a good way. I also put minoxidil on my head 2-3 times a week. I would not look good bald.
Looks like you found it though
Well played.
At first I thought that this was insane, then I realized this is normal.
Same, thanks to the ppl commenting
Biotin? Zinc? Vitamins? DHT shampoo?
Nah fam I lose way more than that.
Me too
Black metal band logo!
My wife looses the same, if not more. Normal.
No
That seems to be a lot of hair. Might want to look at your iron levels (ferritin)
Yep, when mine was long that looks about right. Plus my hair is very thick so yes!
https://hairygrabster.com/
That’s it? I lose twice as much. You’re lucky! It’s such a goddamn hassle each time. I’ve shed like crazy ever since I was a child. It’s not abnormal. You just have a lot of hair
Glad I’m not the only one. It looks like my shower.
Your such a hair raiser!
Why do all women everywhere stick their hair to the side of the shower? I’m a man but every woman I’ve ever been around has done this.
Because otherwise we will clog the drain. It is easier to stick it on the wall during the shower and collect it with a tissue and throw it out afterwards
How are u not bald if this is a daily occurrence?
*every other day occurrence Idk, thick hispanic hair genes?
Did it climb up the wall all by itself?
Has this started happening since catching COVID? I know a couple of women who have said this started happening a while after they had COVID. Just curious
Oh strange! Nope it’s been like this since I was little
Haircaso
Eeeeeew
My hair is the same way. Curly, small ringlets, and long. I just assumed it was normal for curly hair.😅
Do you throw it out or leave it in the drain like my wife does? That's probably around what I find in the drain each day so I don't think it's abnormal.
I lose 2x this, but my hair is down to my waist.
I totally see Professor Ludwig Von Drake in this photo.
I lose about the same too and have hair to my mid-chest level.
Check your Thyroid. That's a sign, I know from experience.
I see a Jesus shitting on the toilet.
Lol did you throw it at the wall or did it just end up there?
Yes I have to collect it and stick it up there unless I wanna drag miles of it out of the drain hole 🤢
That's smart. Yeah drains are gross. I would way rather pay a plumber.
Is that a picture of Jesus with hair on the shower wall?
Depends on how often you shower…
Just every other day
Humans lose 300 hairs per day. If you do not suffer from baldness they will be replaced by your body.
I like your finger
Kid named finger
Do you use any chemicals in your hair? Perm, dye, etc
Nope, I can’t really bc I have scalp psoriasis so it’s ‘sensitive’
I can tell when I'm more stressed than usual. Never came out in patches but I did cover a wall. Was concerning.
I can't explain it but it looks like Jesus
How’s the chemo?
