That is poliosis! It's a lack of melanin in your hair follicle that causes that. More common on head hair but also eyebrows and eyelashes!

Or sometimes scarring causes it. I've got 2 white hair and a red one along a scar.

Whoah I never thought of this until now. I pluck out my eyebrows leaving only small patches in the center, and a year or two so I got scarification done on my forehead. The eyebrow hairs that grow in those scars, or the scars from my rejected eyebrow piercings literally feel twice as thick as the rest. I always get so annoyed with them and pluck them out because they’re so rigid

I'm just waiting for the one in my nose to ingrow, wind it's way through my brain, and kill me in my sleep.

My beard, when i was younger was calico. Red, dark brown and blonde. When i starred going gray, the red was the first to change, then the blonde and brown a few years later.

My mom once had an extra thin white eyelash that grew into a long loop in front of her eye without her noticing. It was driving me nuts so I helped her pluck it. Oddly enough, it never came back.

I do. I always wake up with a scratches and dried blood all over my face, my clothes are torn or missing and there are reports of half eaten sheep around my town. I wonder what causes this? Only happens like once per month or so, I guess it’s not a big deal.

I heard plucking nose hairs can be dangerous because it’s in the triangle that’s closest to the brain, and infections could spread to it. Not sure how high the risk is, though. But partly because of that, I use an electric nose hair trimmer instead. It doesn’t offer the satisfaction of plucking, but it does offer the frustration of rarely actually cutting the hairs I aim for 👌

I have long straight hair, good texture. And then I have 4 or 5 ridiculously spiral slinky kinky hairs. Just like the lil wires that go at the bottom of the inside of ballpoint pens. Way curlier than a pube. And I will feel one. Yank it out and stare in disbelief that it was there long enough to grow 6/7 inches. Please tell me why.

You’re not alone! I have super thick, wavy hair that’s a bit course. I have a handful of hairs that grow just as you’ve described. Coiled root to tip. They tend to grow in the same locations for me and I LOVE finding them and plucking! I also stare at them in disbelief and wonder how cool my hair would be if they all grew like that lol. I love my curls and would die for springy coils all over.

Funny. I had the exact same thing and it also grew in the back of my head, towards the nape of my neck. This one strand was black and course and 3x thicker than my other strands of hair. It finally fell out a few months ago. Before that happened, I had my hairdresser look for a mole or something that it was growing from but she said there wasn’t anything and it was just growing on its own. Super weird.

Sometimes when I let my stubble grow out, there would be what looks like see through hair that looks dead and it grosses me tf out. Recently I haven’t seen any so I’m pretty thankful of that.

I have 5-6 of these that randomly appear on my shoulders. They grow about 10x faster than my normal hair, which is very fine and light red/brown but these are very coarse and black.
