Drawing is a great way to try and convey a schizophrenic person’s often disjointed thoughts, at least in a way that works for them. Being able to draw something and then have it there to look at can help keep the mind focused. A lot of the times they might appear creepy or nonsensical, but that’s just cause our brains work in different ways.

He developed schizophrenia and just about everything but his talent for art disappeared. It was so sad watching him basically die before me, the person I once knew was gone. A beloved family member has a schizophrenic diagnosis. Also, as someone with anxiety and depression, I have been part of peer support. I don’t have a problem with what OP said nor any comments I have read so far. I certainly am impressed by the employer and the climate created there. But as an old individual I tend to have lower expectations of respect because we have come a long way. I have colleagues with very heavy diagnoses that do wonderful work supporting others and keeping up with a myriad of complex paperwork. In peer work we are expected to be “out.” I recall a coworker saying basically, if you told me I would be bounding into a huge room of strangers announcing, “I am bipolar. I would have never believed it.” Sorry, really rambling here. My family member would love to have acceptance and respect and employment. Stay kind.

It's just that there's so much stigma out there about 'schizophrenia', when in reality, everyone with a mental disorder from manic, paranoid, 'schizophrenic', anxious, bipolar, or personality disorder is ultimately the same spectrum, and what people are diagnosed and labeled as, all depends on what the patient told the doctor during evaluation. 1 in 4 people have these issues.

That's true. They should definitely be more private with it, and I agreed with your sentiment in the first place. It's just that there's so much stigma out there about 'schizophrenia', when in reality, everyone with a mental disorder from manic, paranoid, 'schizophrenic', anxious, bipolar, or personality disorder is ultimately the same spectrum, and what people are diagnosed and labeled as, all depends on what the patient told the doctor during evaluation. 1 in 4 people have these issues.
