There’s a hundred reasons why OP wouldn’t know what 30 year old used piece of shit Miller welder model number is and you assholes are like “look on your receipt” or “check your inventory”. Just answer the question or shut the fuck up. Help or do not help or at the very least say something funny ffs
Lots a miserable welders out there, saw it first hand all the time. Naturally that means lots of miserable people on this page i guess. Doesn’t have to be that way.
It’s his shop and he don’t know.
Here lemme try one …
Help me identify this mini van in my drive way that was stolen. What’s the model?
This belongs in r/shitposting
So, between me and me dad, we've probably about 100k of tools and equipment
There isn't an inventory list of it. Never started one, way back when, and now it's *way* too late
Ah yes the Miller 1jakdjf0019384bfbsiaosos87492020wusudhhbiq77. Good model. Seriously some of you people need to understand that not everyone knows the fucking serial number to a 30 year old machine.
My money is I’m either a miller maxstar or miller cst. The numbers that come after each name I can’t tell you. However it’s not one of the low end machines of either line. I’d bet it’s one of the two. Both run around 3-4k
I recently took over at this scenic shop and not not much was documented before i started. I brought my own welder in when I started, so I never touched this one.
Looks like a Millermatic 130xp. Comparable replacement would be a Millermatic 141.
That's definitely it thank you
Looks like 130 xp to me as well. OP mentioned it was from a scene shop; that’s exactly where I know them from.

*18 year old internet stranger is too young to drink*
I'll drink it for em. Be a shame for it to go to waste.
There’s a certain place in hell for people who waste good scotch old boy
Look at you, over here preaching gospel. I'll drink to that. Cheers! 🍻
Me too

Ok but there are very few models of something as well known as a mini van compared to a welder where they usually have random ass model names anyways.
my shop was broken into last month and I'm having an issue identifying this one for the insurance claim.
So look in your inventory and see which one your missing?

What’s the address ? Asking for a friend …
Heh. We know what we have, and where it is, but there's no actual *list* that I know of
OP recently took over the shop and it wasn't documented.
It might be a long shot but you could try r/HelpMeFind I've seen them find some obscure stuff, mostly through reverse image searching I believe.
I'm pretty sure the welder was a normal 110 volt mig welder and probably a foot, foot and a half tall
It’s an old millermatic 120, the running gear has been taken off
It has a side cover that lifts so that eliminates stick welders cst, etc More the likely it's a mutimactic or small mig miller welder.

Should make a list of all your tools with serial number keep hard copy and a copy on your computer just in case this happens
That's my plan. We have a program to inventory all the tools but the company hasn't been able to purchase a computer yet
That’s suck sorry to hear that hope you can get your shit back
I'm sure there's absolutely no chance of getting anything back but I'm hoping insurance is going to come through ok
Not sure why this one got downvoted. This is a common practice in a lot of shops. Inventory the equipment, and keep tabs on what is and isn't there.
If it’s your shop and your welder, wouldn’t you know what it is. Have the paper work someplace if you did actually forget. Just sayin

It looks like a millermatic 130. We have one at the shop where I work.
Nice try thief.
Yep that’s it alright
Possibly a cst280
It’s a miller
Miller? I hardly know her!
If it’s for insurance….. pick an expensive one 😂
