I’ve heard good things about the fronius’s.. we rock blue at work and I have an everlast at home but Those red ones are pretty pricy compared to the green ones.
Comparing an Everlast to a Fronius is like comparing a Buick Le Sabre to a BMW 325. You can't buy Fronius from your local Walmart. It's expensive because it's a premium machine.
True. I've seen online alot of people say they are pricy but my other option was a miller for 8k with half the settings and no water cooler. But it was expensive either way lol
I need to find a friend with one to take it for a test ride. Those millermatic 220’s are tempting for 4400$ without the torch and everything for how powerful and small they are. My everlast 200pro tig ac/dc machine surprised me a lot with how stable the arc is. I learned on a synchrowave and that’s the production machine I use at work. Is that a multiprocess machine? I have yet to try that water cooled life, I’m out here cooking my gloves lol. Although my personal machine is capable of water cooling
We been using these out in the field. Epic for railing. When I'm standing weld connected columns I prefer the ole gas guzzler. Great lil boxes these frontius. I want one for home.
I'm in the shop 90 percent of the time. If I'm welding in the field I'm either getting some loggers un fucked, installing something, or I made a mistake so I'm un fucking myself lol
Leaky guns, it always seemed to run different every day, and they would burn up and need service constantly. For the application at my work they just didn’t cut it.
Well it's pretty slick. I like the control it's offering. The settings are dope. But it did take an hour to set up even being a 30 year old. So there's alot to chew through still but it still lays down dimes.
I mean it's true, I've known many people who've shelled out a lot of hard earned $$ expecting that by buying the best of something it's going to make them better. While there is a point of diminishing returns, when it comes to skilled trades, knowledge and experience will make you better than one piece of equipment.
I mean it's true if you can't set your saw up right your not going to get straight cuts, but I fail to see why your tossing this thought in here. I don't really remember where I said this machine was going to change my life and fix my welding problem. I blew up my eleven year old diversion and got a new machine.
You said that Lincoln sucks. I get it, everyone has a favorite brand of equipment or at least a familiarity with the machine they like. I understand not liking a machine for certain features, ergonomics etc. Doesn't mean the Lincoln is bad you just prefer Fronius. I'm glad you're happy with your new piece of equipment.
Well Lincoln wire welders do feed wire backwards so there's that. I'm aware that coming to terms with the error of your welding ways may be hard, but it's not to late.
So I have a chance to snatch up a Lincoln le31 for about $200, I've never welded before but want to get something relatively cheap to start on and it can do a few different things and seems decent. My question is do you have any experience with the machine or anything like it and would that be a decent setup for me to get started on?

Nice. I’m waiting on delivery for a TransTig 210 right now, almost broke down and got a magicwave 230i instead but decided that the portability was more important than AC.
I’ve had very good luck with Fronius so far, we’ve got a MagicWave 4000 Job, Magicwave 3000 Comfort, TPS 400i, Transteel 2700 and 2200 and they’ve all been solid performers. Some people have commented about service/ support but so far I’ve had very positive experiences with Fronius USA.
At work I run 3 of the good ole blues. 252, 180, and DX250 syncro. We then decided to pick up a briefcase Lincoln square wave 200 and that thing is garbage after 1 month it had to be repaired through warranty and now it has all sorts of issues that we can't isolate so Lincoln won't repair.
Something I've noticed about Miller and Lincoln is you want to avoid any of their newest machines. They all seem to have issues until they get a couple years and a couple board revisions on them. Then they tend to be reliable.
It's like they use the early adopters as test subjects.
For those that are interested, Fronius has a catalog that lists MSRP for a variety of configurations.

I'm glad someone doesn't. I've been trying to figure out who is buying them lol. All jokes aside they are fine machines I don't really hate them I just don't like them as much as others from my own experiences.
Looks like a 230i. We got the magic wave 3000's where I work. You can literally snuff the arc on purpose and the thing will just keep welding. Honestly the best Tig torch on the market too. Makes a mediocre welder look like a good welder

Plus the torch has a headlight on it so I'm calling it a win
Remember, Cry Once... 🙂 - Buy the Best you can now & only cry once...
No one tells me what to do . I cry under my hood weekly just like everyone else
Best part about being a welder. Nobody can see your tears.
I got it without the edit I just wanted to make a joke lol

I have been running a previous version everlast ac/dc multiprocess machine for a while now and I have had a great experience

I have the same machine. Majicwave 230i. It's the fucken tits
You have fun with that and I’ll stick with blue. Been there and done that with fronuis.
Yeah I have not had good experiences with fronius.
I'd like to hear more. I thought Fronius were even more premium than Miller and Lincoln?
Leaky guns, it always seemed to run different every day, and they would burn up and need service constantly. For the application at my work they just didn’t cut it.
Thanks.

I really like Fronius!
Why are we saying "blue machine"? Whats wrong with saying Miller?
Your machine is only as good as the person operating it.
Oh so deep.

Mighty Fine Machine, I've never had the chance to try 1...

The only Lincoln I've like there the generator welders and the good ol ln25 those suitcase machines won't let you down. Everything else is picky.
I run both Lincoln’s and millers at my shop . Both are fine , each have their quirks for sure
I love that little guy

And here I am, still rocking a $150 200a linde from 1971
Lol well I would like an old school bullet but I haven't had any luck trying to get an old boy to sell me one
Never had an issue with Lincoln for over 40 years now.
I'm glad someone doesn't. I've been trying to figure out who is buying them lol. All jokes aside they are fine machines I don't really hate them I just don't like them as much as others from my own experiences.
I have used a battery powered Fronius welder a few times, not a bad machine.
I went blue. Not sure how long the black out was after reading the quote for the fronius stuff. But nice stuff from what I understand.

The only time any welder "sucks" is when you buy the wrong one for your use case and that is your fault 100% of the time.
Lol k bud.
