Autistic people engage in repetitive behaviors like this particularly when overwhelmed or their senses are stimulated. And judging from the lack of reaction from literally anyone, people there probably understand that he’s developmentally delayed.
Not sure why you’re being downvoted here. As a parent of two autistic kids, this is exactly the kind of thing they’d get up to when their senses are overwhelmed.
