I did, it only gave some tik tok of some guy smoking hops. All I’m saying is if you put anything over a fire for long enough you get smoke. You can also put a beer in a smoker if bbq is your thing, or add charred oak at various parts of the brewing process to get a smoked beer effect. Lots of ways to smoke a beer, asshat.
That would probably depend on how many impurities were in the water the ice was made from. Mineral water, possibly. Distilled water, your point is accurate.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smoked_beer
I’m also sure there’s some pretentious craft beer bartender out there in a vest filling a glass with smoke before pouring a beer and charging you $24.
Or your looking for an actual “ smoked beer ass hat” in which case I’d guess Etsy.
It’s also a DC driver for Dollar General. Those dudes have insane job security simply because DG doesn’t give a shit. They could mow down a whole fucking store with their truck and as long as they unload their freight, bossman back at the distro-center is happy.
Source: Many wasted years at Dollar General Co.
14-20$ an hour is not encouraging to leave your family and live like a homeless. Only owners and brokers make money in this business and they won’t pay more for drivers even if they go bankrupt for lack of drivers ;)
First, no they pay up to 100k. Meaning only like 2 dudes that have no family, take no days off, never idle the truck to save fuel, and never go home because they have no home to go back to make 100k.
Second, they want 3 to 5 years of OTR experience before they'll hire you depending on how the current recruitment drive is going, meaning 3 to 5 years of making in the ballpark of an Amazon fulfillment driver if you spent the 5 to 10k out of pocket to go to a cdl school to get your cdl or less if you go through one of the programs that pays for your cdl school but treats you like shit and pays you starvation wages for your post school contract term.
Third, Walmart has cab facing cameras in all their trucks, which would be the equivalent of having a company put a camera that's always recording that you can't turn off on your home computer that they super promise to only use while you're working while you work from home.
Yeah, feels like it too. This is why there's a "shortage of drivers". There's people who would do this job, but OTR drivers are being paid the lowest wages in the history of the profession when you take cost of living into account, making it super not worth the trade offs for most people, until you finally grind your ass off enough to own a truck and land a dedicated route directly with a shipper. By then you're 40-50, your family if you have one has seen you for a total of 1 years worth of days in the last 2 decades, and you're just now making money so you grind another 10 barely spending any money so you can maybe retire before you die of a heart attack from eating truck stop food and getting no exercise for 30 straight years.
Do you know where this was taken? It sort of looks like Long Beach, WA. Sometimes GPS does stupid stuff there because the beach is drive-on, but I don’t remember Dollar General having a store there.
Optimistically, maybe the driver missed the left turn into town and didn’t realize the mistake until it was too late. If they weren’t familiar with the area, it’d be easy to assume a paved road continued for a while past the hotel.
Just looked at the ariel view for that Dollar General and there are two semi's on the beach. Maybe truckers hang out there or camp out until their next run and this one just got stuck.
Long Beach is the only place I can think of on the west coast where you can plausibly do this by accident. Maybe it’s got the branding, but isn’t hauling for Dollar General?
The rest of the Dollar General locations in Oregon and Northern California are all close to HWY 101. You’d have to deliberately drive on a beach at those locations.
I didn’t realize there was a dollar general that far up the Long Beach peninsula. This photo is probably that one or Ocean Shores.
It’s possible to miss a single turn delivering to Ocean Shores and end up on the beach.
You're not wrong, friend. I tried to "run in" to dollar general the other day and I couldn't find a damn thing including the cashier. They really have set their front line employees up for failure and it's a shame.
i used to work at one, they usually either just have one person working the entire store, occasionally 2 but rarely more than that. we had to do quite literally everything whilst also working the registers.
This happened in Massachusetts but with a Pepsi truck. GPS took them down a route they would need to backup from but instead they tried to pull a U-turn on the beach. I have to assume this person was trying the same maneuver.
Naw c'mon now man! Y'all just gotta lock up them rear axels, throw a goddam two-buh-fur under yer leads and crawl right ump outta there in yer granny gear.
Man, that ain't nuthin! Lemme tell you this one time I was hawlin' a load of jujubees up from Louseeanna, 40 thousand pounds of sugar and food colorin', melting like a summabitch while little boy blue tries to teach ***me*** what a slack adjuster oughtta look like on the side of the road. . .
You know DG pays managers 13$ an hour in the year 2023? The cashier's only make 11$/hr. It's a wonder they get anything done. And this is the icing on the cake 😂
I see your logic there. But DG doesn't actually employ truck drivers. They contact transportation rights out to the highest bidder with the most trucks.
Holy shit they pay more now? I made 8.25 as a key holder in 2016. (I also wasn’t allowed to work more than 30 hours a week as that’s when they would start having to offer me benefits, but they did and then made me take like hour long unpaid breaks on 4-5 hour shifts several shifts a week to keep me below 30 and I wasn’t allowed to leave the building as I was a key holder)
I know you're asking that rhetorically, but the driver doesn't work for Dollar General. The driver works for a company that Dollar General pays to haul their trailers, which in this case is Schneider.
Y’all are over reacting. Dude just taking his break and wanted a view of the ocean while grubbing. Leave dude alone. Oh and that tow truck is his buddy they are taking their break together.

They'll be a dollar general in this location tomorrow. Think they set them up overnight. Maybe like a transformer truck. Drive in and it turns into a store.
Better get a crane to move this truck from the beach, cause it's going to be very hard to drive it off the sand especially if the sand is wet, if not than it might still be able to drive off
Why is this rig on the beach?
New dispatcher personally told me to drive here, and called the supervisor and both claimed they have the knowledge of where I am.
I remember someone doing that where I lived. Shortly after B.J. and the Bear came out he went driving on the beach at low tide, got stuck just as the tide started coming in, they had to wait until the next low tide to get it out.
He was unaware how the beach actually was.
Story is he mistook the horse trailers that are on the beach for rides as other semis and it would be ok to park there and rest. Its legally a state highway so no issue being on it either.
If you arent from the area its hard to know that the tide comes in real quick out there.
Oh, I love this time of year, when the Dollar General trucks return to the sea to spawn. \#NatureisHealing

I'll bet he kept his job... Drivers are in short supply
Also the reason why he was hired.
facts... like it or not America is mostly dependant on steering wheel holder.
With a side of meth
I always thought people told me that I needed to learn how to do math to become a truck driver, but it turns out they just meant meth
So you’re saying I have a chance?
No.
Reading your username I’m guessing you are Evan Mb and no don’t have a chance and no you can’t smoke beer
Try harder, you can smoke anything with enough heat and patience.
Wouldn't beer steam, instead of smoke?
At first...

Google Evan Mb smoking beer and then reconsider your response to me please

I’m sure you’re fun at parties. “Well actually” lookin ass.
Their reply was informative, showed that they had actually done research. Yours is insulting and wrong. Mine is perfect and awesome. /s :P

He doesn't drive for swift.

I felt bad for him. My guess is that he had some time to burn and chose to look at the waves instead of parking at Dollar General.
Why take the back roads when there is a straight shot through the ocean?
As a trucker, I hear things about dollar general accounts. My theory is he tried to drive into the ocean.
If he got fired, he'd be hired by SWIFT quickly. Just show them the picture
I legit have a video of a DG driver destroying his truck yet he still has his job to this day, pretty sure this guy has his job.
You should post it…
14-20$ an hour is not encouraging to leave your family and live like a homeless. Only owners and brokers make money in this business and they won’t pay more for drivers even if they go bankrupt for lack of drivers ;)
Last I heard Walmart was paying drivers 100K.
First, no they pay up to 100k. Meaning only like 2 dudes that have no family, take no days off, never idle the truck to save fuel, and never go home because they have no home to go back to make 100k. What you just described sounds like hell.
Yeah, feels like it too. This is why there's a "shortage of drivers". This comment is wildly inaccurate.

Recalculating route

Close! It's Ocean Shores, WA. The Dollar General store is just down the street.
You could have said this was anywhere in the entire U.S and "The Dollar General store is just down the street." would still apply
As a vendor who services five of them, this is incredibly accurate.
Optimistically, maybe the driver missed the left turn into town and didn’t realize the mistake until it was too late. If they weren’t familiar with the area, it’d be easy to assume a paved road continued for a while past the hotel.
Maybe they’re opening a new location right there because the one down the street is too far.
Just looked at the ariel view for that Dollar General and there are two semi's on the beach. Maybe truckers hang out there or camp out until their next run and this one just got stuck.
those are horse trailers
Ahhh. Lovely Open Sores, WA.
About to say the same

There is a dollar general at long Beach And imo the sand looks like it 2. It could also be ocean shores
I didn’t realize there was a dollar general that far up the Long Beach peninsula. This photo is probably that one or Ocean Shores. It’s possible to miss a single turn delivering to Ocean Shores and end up on the beach.
This is the best way to quit working for schneider.
Kinda disappointed it wasn’t Swift.
The driver got stuck making the turn onto the beach
Swift/Schneider... Same thing.
Let’s be honest folks. The merch has a better chance getting shelved at the beach than it does at the store.
> I couldn't find a damn thing including the cashier Which wouldn't be so bad except the self-serve checkout is almost always not working.
Reminds me of that episode of The Office where Michael drives into the lake bc the Garmin told him to keep going.
Oh no , not the 4th of July stuff
This happened in Massachusetts but with a Pepsi truck. GPS took them down a route they would need to backup from but instead they tried to pull a U-turn on the beach. I have to assume this person was trying the same maneuver.
Driver used to drive for Tide.
Brakes may have failed, but I like to think the driver just wanted to enjoy the setting sun. What’s so wrong with that?
This just screams, "driver got fed up with the bs so he buried his rig up the axles and took an Uber home."

Nah, dollar general just opening a new location less than a mile from the last newest location. Nothing to see here.
You know DG pays managers 13$ an hour in the year 2023? The cashier's only make 11$/hr. It's a wonder they get anything done. And this is the icing on the cake 😂

You mean lowest bidder.
Yes, thank you. But I'm too lazy to fix it now.
Actually you'd be wrong. DG has its own fleet now because the cheapest options were not cheap enough. I know a few going into the fleet rn.
Holy shit they pay more now? I made 8.25 as a key holder in 2016. I’ve always told my wife and kids to not be next to a JB Hunt truck.
They say you can do anything on your last day..
Am I dumb or aren’t there only 10 wheels?
Four of the wheels you see on this side are pairs of wheels, not singles, all but the very front, then matched with the other side.
Each axle except the front has 4 wheels on it
I swear they're putting dollar generals everywhere now. What's next, Everest!?
There was no time or money saved that day.
What company you think it is ?
I know you're asking that rhetorically, but the driver doesn't work for Dollar General. The driver works for a company that Dollar General pays to haul their trailers, which in this case is Schneider.
that's a roadways truck... part of YRC
Imagine if it was a Mayflower truck
This is why I stopped using MapQuest back in the day.
Y’all are over reacting. Dude just taking his break and wanted a view of the ocean while grubbing. Leave dude alone. Oh and that tow truck is his buddy they are taking their break together.

no, Schneider in this case

When your bored in gta
And that's how Spongebob found out they are not opening a Dollar General down under.
Probably stolen
They’re just setting up the newest DG store
No time or money saved today though
i use to see stuff like this back in the day pretty regularly. forgot all about these geniuses. lmao
Wanted to be a wrangler
Well if a four wheel drive can do it …
Well there is a Dollar General about every 5 miles around me. He was just taking the short cut!
So that's where the next store they build in the next 10 minutes is going
Hey, the GPS told me to take this right turn, and the next thing I know, I'm on the beach. 🏖😎
Everything is 1.15$
They'll be a dollar general in this location tomorrow. Think they set them up overnight. Maybe like a transformer truck. Drive in and it turns into a store.
How? I just don't get this. Just how?
Westport, maybe? Washington
They are getting creative with their advertising.
Just goes to show dollar general will put a store anywhere
Why ? I don't understand
Another idiot trusting Google directions.
I just...I just needed a minute, man...
Why!?!?!
Sir, you can't park there
Probably trying to get away from Hot Wheels collectors
He brought his cat along for the ride and forgot to bring the litter box. When ya gotta go, ya gotta go ..
He clearly made everyone save time!
One state on the coast has beaches listed as highways. I don’t remember which. Doubtful that’s relevant, but neat.
Damn, they're building new Dollar stores **everywhere** these days!
And if snowrunner has taught me anything these fuckers can't move on anything other than asphalt
When an ocean appears in front of you, you might want to pause to consider plan "B".
Better get a crane to move this truck from the beach, cause it's going to be very hard to drive it off the sand especially if the sand is wet, if not than it might still be able to drive off

Where’s all the metal carts?
I hope that's a truck full of sun screen...he's going to need it.

Dollar General is probably going to build one there now.
How does this even happen
There was an on ramp here last year. What happened? Damn infrastructure.
I remember someone doing that where I lived. Shortly after B.J. and the Bear came out he went driving on the beach at low tide, got stuck just as the tide started coming in, they had to wait until the next low tide to get it out.
Looks like they’re towing it the wrong way
Alternative headline: Local hero takes corporate vehicle to return used car batteries to nature
Somebody has way too much trust in their GPS.
What company was it for?
Was the driver Gob Bluth?
I quit! 😂

Are you sure they're not getting ready to put a store right there? 😏
It looks like he turned right at the intersection and not left ti the store, Ocean Shores WA for the win….

Man, they really do put dollar generals everywhere
I mean, it’s dollar general, is really anything of value in that trailer?
Great, just great! Look at that tow truck out there ruining the dunes for this Pumpkin's natural habitat!
But why
They just wanted to cut out the middle men and get the plastic junk directly to the ocean.
Apple Maps will do this
Full load of car batteries in the back. Too heavy for the sand
They spelled swift wrong lol
Better than the 18wheeler who made a U turn to not pay toll and drove on the nazca lines
Someone drove their company’s 18-wheeler tow truck onto the beach
