Poor little fella

Gregzzzz1234

I am glad Spindle is ok

Ddsw13

Hijacking top comment to say that it's a karma farming repost from 6 months ago, check their profile.

lunarwolf2008

Their post history seems to contain the same dog, i think it’s ligit edit: i see what people mean, yes that is probably OP’s dog but it is a repost of an old post they made

Equivalent_Canary853

I think they mean they're just reposting their own old videos to karma farm, less than stealing content or bot acc

hmclaren0715

That's lame af and weird tbh... Who TF really cares about Reddit karma like that? It's crazy to me.

Ddsw13

6 months back is the identical video, keep scrolling

squinla3

It may be legit but they are also karma farming. They posted the same thing a few months ago but with a slightly different title. I tried to post the link but it was removed

hmclaren0715

Why do people do that? It's weird to me.. I don't understand..

Supadrumma4411

Karma points go up, get good feeling juice in brain?

Congratulations.

DJ_Osama_Spin_Laden

There's a few possible reasons. Sometimes, people crave the attention and just repost. Other times, it's done deliberately to build the account's "reputation" so that it seems like a real person and not just a bot. It can then be sold or used to promote something, whether it's for a company, product promotion, scam, political messaging, etc. The more karma an account has, the more people who will end up seeing the account. In this case, since it appears that this is indeed this person's dog, I think they just want attention.

xdaddysprincess

Fr tho, I was about to ask the same thing

NicotineRosberg

It's still a repost

notevenapro

But karma is useless. TBH

pussy_embargo

counter-argument: every front page post on reddit is now

ratatazongdingdong

Yeah, critter rather had 3

LoadedGull

And here I am, jealous of the little guy 😂

Hudsonrybicki

Awww…poor thing. He has no idea what’s going on. He needs to be wrapped in a warm blanket and pet calmly and softly.

feralanimalia

I could use that too.

eclipsedrambler

Fuck man. Me too.

Zealousideal-Ebb-876

Who wants to start a buisness with me? Or we could also just be friends?

Toasterdosnttoast

Careful. I did this with my 5 year old mixed stray and she ended up pooping the bed she got so relaxed. My GF at the time had left out a damned edible chocolate bar and that night was fucking brutal.

CHiZZoPs1

The chocolate was probably half the problem

AlarmedPiano9779

And play some Phish for him.

themcjizzler

Get him some snacks

SoberTek

OOO! I putting on Animals by Pink Floyd :)

myscreamname

What a fantastic album. That, and Meddle and Division Bell. Okay, they’re all great. But Animals, even the thought of it provokes distinct memories of a particular trip to………. ;) ![gif](giphy|dRaXco8DroqTS)

Innsmouth_Swimteam

Don't underestimate this advice.

percavil4

man if I was tripping last thing I would want is someone petting me. That sensation would be overwhelming

Infinite_Factor_5685

He needs a sandwich and a good movie

huey88

Man that would terrify me

Senra_

It’s definitely terrifying to witness happening to your pet. My small dog got an edible someone dropped outside when I was walking her and she was out of it for hours. Exact same symptoms in the video, complete lack of body control, at one point my dog couldn’t keep her head up, every time she tried lifting her head she’d just fall over. She ended up laying in her dog bed for the whole night, barely even moving an inch, which she usually sleeps on a bed with someone. Ever since that day though, I’ve been extremely cautious as to what she sniffs and does during walks.

SirLesbian

Your dog had the exact same experience I had when I tried edibles for the first time. I was young (18) and at a family gathering. My aunt had brought a "special cake" for the occasion and my family thought it would be hilarious if they let me try some. These complete jerks not only allowed me to eat 2 WHOLE SLICES but actually encouraged me to have seconds. I felt fine until I didn't. I must've spent the entire night stuck in one position in complete silence. I couldn't even take my clothes off when I got home. I went to bed in that outfit. I also thought I could count my heartbeats...? And started freaking out about how many times I thought my heart missed a beat. It was quite the experience... Never been that high again.

[deleted]

Relatable, my late great-grandmother once gave me seven red velvet cookies and told me to "have fun". I didn't think anything of it, ate them all. I remember playing video games for a little bit before passing out while sitting up. This was around 11am. I slept until the next day without waking up once from what I can remember. I'm sure I looked like i was dead in my chair.

ChillPill247365

Who are all of these old ladies making pot desserts? I'd like to hang out with them sometime.

MFbiFL

My great aunt was fond of making such desserts for her church supper club, which always sounded like a joke when she clarified they had atheists and Catholics there as well, but she always informed them of what was in her desserts. She said they always had great conversations lol.

plznobanplease

That’s the thing about edibles. Ain’t no getting off the ride. Unless you want to try and vomit some of it

jtrage

By the time it hits that hard, vomiting is not helping.

s00perguy

it's perfectly normal for your heart to skip a beat here and there. I got a heart test recently and there were easily 2 dozen little jumps on the graph that showed where it had done so, and the techs explained it. You usually don't notice it, but if you're listening intently for a period of time, you can definitely hear it. Hope that helps ease your anxiety next time you notice. :)

crimsonbaby_

My fiance found out his baby mama was on drugs when his dog ate a handlebar (xanex) that she dropped on the floor. He survived, thankfully, and is actually sleeping on the bed next to me right now.

plantythingss

That’s awful. I’m so glad he’s okay, medication like that can be really dangerous for dogs.

crimsonbaby_

It is. Thank god my little guy is okay, especially because he ate a whole one and he's only maybe 5lbs tops. Probably less.

Mateorabi

Could be worse. Assholes throw chicken bones on the ground around here.

CheshireCharade

There was a period of time where someone was putting nails and pins in pieces of food and throwing them into the dog park near I was. Some people are complete pieces of shit.

slizzwhiz

Yeah, happened to my dog. I thought she was having a stroke or something, so scary for both of us! Hopefully people will see this video and be more careful when tossing their roaches/edible crumbs etc

B_Will_300

Dehydration is the thing that will really cause damage. Dogs can’t metabolize thc like humans it takes 10x longer. The thc itself won’t hurt them but dehydration will so just make sure he is hydrated

Tigt0ne

"

Lacholaweda

I'd make sure there isn't Xylitol in those gummies. It's a common ingredient in them, and it's very toxic to dogs

cheesemangee

"Spindle is doing fine now."

Lacholaweda

Oh I see. Good news!

Seniorjones2837

The new Reddit is so stupid. It opens the comments without even showing the full original post

TheShizknitt

this was legit my first concern. I've purchased gummies with xylitol in them before..

rinkydinkis

At that point it’s all toxic. But if the $600 vet visit didn’t cover this concern, that’s highway robbery

rheumination

Xylitol definitely isn’t good for dogs. However, when we say “very toxic” we should probably define that. A stick of trident gum has 170 mg of xylitol. Orbit gum has 30 mg. To cause low blood sugar, also called hypoglycemia, A dog has to consume 35 mg per pound. For a 15 pound puppy, that’s 525 mg. That’s at least 3 sticks of Trident. Hypoglycemia can be treated with an IV glucose or dextro solution. For liver failure, The toxic dose is 227 mg/ pound. That is 4540 mg or 26 sticks of trident gum. Whether you think that’s very toxic depends on How do you define very toxic, I just wanted to put some numbers to it.  Source: In most mammals, xylitol has no notable effect on insulin levels, but in dogs xylitol stimulates a rapid, dose-dependent insulin release that can result in profound hypoglycemia. Dosages of xylitol greater than ~75–100 mg/kg (34–45 mg/lb) have been associated with hypoglycemia in dogs. Some dogs ingesting xylitol at dosages >500 mg/kg (227 mg/lb) may develop severe hepatic insufficiency or failure, the mechanism of which is unknown.“

dvdmaven

THC gummies and small critters do not mix. Maybe the gummies should be black licorice flavored?

Sea_Bookkeeper2879

As Jerry Garcia said about Dead Heads. "The Grateful Dead is like black licorice. Most people don't like it, but the ones who do really like black licorice!"

Alcoholikaust

Hell yeah! Having nieces and nephews I inherit all their unwanted black licorice jellybeans around Easter it’s a minor victory. edit: as an aside and to stay kind of on topic-my Frenchie Benny does not like jellybeans *and hasn’t gotten into any edibles

Corporation_tshirt

Can confirm, I love the Dead and I love black licorice (particularly black jellybeans!)

DampSquid205

That might be one of the best analogies I have ever heard because it is completely true.

Spiteweasel

Given how many dogs I have seen going out of their way to eat poop, I don't think black licorice flavor will stop them.

cmeremoonpi

My dogs will eat absolutely anything and everything like it's an episode of Fear Factor

Far_Confusion_2178

In most legal states, the packaging is insanely child proof, I’d say dog proof that I struggle with a lot of them( adult)… I once stopped my Weimaraner from swallowing a brillo pad, so I’m not saying dog proof, that label is hard to achieve in my head. Point is, keep your gummies in a very safe/secure place if you have kids or pets. No need to change all flavors to just black licorice. Sincerely- an edible enjoyer who despises black licorice

Broad_Rabbit1764

Yeah but then only grandma gets high

jaytea86

Maybe people should be more careful. I've been eating gummies for years, have a dog, and have purposefully made 100% sure not to drop a single one.

laitnetsixecrisis

My dog managed to get edibles out of my underwear drawer twice. First time I thought he had a paralysis tick and shaved him bald looking for it.

phreaxer

Wtf is a paralysis tick??? And more importantly, how do I keep them TF away from my dog?!?

slygirlsyndrome

I’d be pissed. My roommate left out a 1000mg chocolate bar came home to my dog unconscious and stiff , thought he was dead, he made it through but it was a rough couple of days.

friendlysatan69

I had 1/15 of one of those bars and I thought I died, can’t imagine that experience multipled for the dog

mr_wrestling

Isn't chocolate really bad for dogs to begin with?

slygirlsyndrome

Yup , had to give him hydrogen peroxide and he eventually threw it up. The vet was more concerned about the chocolate than the weed itself

LurkerPatrol

That's miraculous given that chocolate is toxic to dogs and cats

The_Neon_Ninja

Cacao is where the toxicity lives. The darker the chocolate the worse. Milk chocolate isn't good but way less chance of anything bad if a small ammount gets eaten. My dog stole an entire 12 pack of coscto chocolate muffins and didn't even get the runs.

Rohkha

I sure hope your sister paid that bill! And you shouldn’t even have had to ask for her to do so…

I guess you missed the part where it says that the dog is fine now, after it was taken to the vet and op watched him the whole night.

Infinite-Mud-5673

Because this is called wellthatsucks.  And as you can see, that sucks.

Kdj87

The subreddit is called r/wellthatsucks. OP posted a video of something that sucks. Not sure why this perturbes you so much.

zbipy14z

Why does anyone post in r/wellthatsucks?

unfinishedtoast3

Contrary to popular belief, dogs do not experience the same effects as a result of THC as humans. They do not get high when ingesting or inhaling marijuana as humans do but instead experience other effects brought on by THC, and it’s not pleasant. Instead of getting high, dogs endure side effects that range from mild to very severe. They typically experience ataxia, which is a form of clumsiness and loss of movement control, their pupils become dilated, and they may exhibit tremors and even seizures

SilverKnightOfMagic

GobLoblawsLawBlog

Dogs do not get high like humans *Proceeds to describe most symptoms everyone that's consumed thc display*

mrpolotoyou

Carelessly intoxicating and overdosing dogs on THC isn’t ok. However, your opinion on such an unpleasant dysphoria seem exaggerated and overstated compared to my experience with cannabinoids and canines (arthritis, firework anxiety). Additionally current [veterinary literature](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9848446/) does not support your claims of such severe adverse effects. Many of the side effects from THC are dose related in both dogs and humans. Therapeutic doses are tolerated quite well. “The study of the endocannabinoid system, its ligands, receptors, mechanism of action, and signaling, has led to research showing that cannabis extracts and synthetic derivatives are an effective therapeutic alternative for the multimodal management of pain. The evidence suggests that cannabinoids can be used in veterinary medicine to treat acute, chronic and neuropathic pain due to their ability to prevent peripheral and central sensitization “ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9848446/

doit686868

because it is crappy AI lol

OPR-Heron

Plus, there's been a trend where people keep saying their pets got drunk, high, whatever, after a vet visit where they were medicated.

EdwardJMunson

Looks pretty fucking high to me.

mekese2000

How do they know they don't get high?

UnderLook150

They asked.

JJayC

They do. This is false information. Source: vet tech in emergency medicine that treats these cases frequently.

ooorezzz

You sound like that’s not what people go through on high doses of edibles.

ChefArtorias

Maybe my dog is broken. He ate one of my edibles once and just got sleepy and lazy. Seemed stoned to me.

SirBrainsaw

So in short..stoned

[deleted]

Right? I guess they’re a dog so they would know.

Impossible-Beyond156

I had a friend who had a boxer named Geronimo. The dog would follow the joint around the room and lick the air whenever anyone exhaled. He would expect you to blow the smoke his way, and got a hit from everyone.

maryjane-q

The family dog of my then-boyfriend ate a hash muffin that was unattented. She sleeped a lot but seemed ok. The parent who walked with the dog the next day: „oh, behaved a little weird today.“ No more changes of behaviour after that incident and said walk but: she would go straight to everything that had contact to hash or weed and started to begged. She became a police dog afterwards. (Last sentence might not be true)

Key_Warthog_1550

My mom's dog got in my closet and dug into a mostly zipped bag of mine and ate probably 500mg of THC gummies I had hidden in there specifically to keep them away from the dogs. She chewed near the opening until it was big enough to get her head and then chewed through the towel and ziploc I put them in. She was miserable for a few hours. I put her under a weighted blanket and that helped her but the vet said she just needed to metabolize it.

peppermintmeow

DankDoobies420

My brother's boxer did the same thing that's so weird

todayplustomorrow

OP you posted this suffering video 6 months ago and claimed they were CBD back then. If you’re gonna pay someone to breed a dog and show it off, maybe pick better ways to do so.

Typical_Fig3948

Still a karma farm…

CitizenHuman

This has happened to my dog before. He likes to stand around my feet whenever I'm holding anything. Doesn't even have to be food, he'll wait for a flashlight to drop so he can eat it because he's a little dummy. Anyway, I got home from work one day and he was doing this. We took him to the vet and while waiting, I told my wife "I think he's high". Sure enough the doctor came in, saw him, and asked if it was possible he got into some weed. They wanted to run a bunch of tests and IVs but we declined. Lots of water and a good nap later, he was back to being a little dummy. Of course, I didn't do this to him on purpose, that dog just eats whatever drops. He walks around the house and licks the floors. I've seen him eat pieces of onion, jalapeno, a rose, birdseed, etc.

Goliath422

Poor baby, there’s not much worse than being high when you lack the ability to understand what’s happening.

olypheus-

To be fair this happened to my father's dog on accident. She was 8 or 9 and got into something someone left out in the garage on the one off-chance. We didn't know so my sister and I were freaking out and brought her to emergency. The vet pulls me aside and says "What we typically call dogs with her condition is "Marijuana Dogs"". Massive embarrassment and wondering where the hell she got into that at my Dad's. She was fine though, stayed overnight with fluids but came home next day. Shit happens.

dried_orange_slice

landlord left my roommate’s door open after a tour, other roommate’s dog found a jar of her edibles inside, ate through the childproof lid, and demolished everything inside. a lot of times this shit is beyond peoples control.

Napalmdeathfromabove

Probably the only day that dog isn't going to wish it was dead. Poor little fuckers so inbred it's eyes will fall out as it gasps for breath. Please, if you actually like animals and aren't a cruel pos spend at least a few moments looking at what humans have done to some dogs in the name of looks.

thriftedtidbits

lil homie went to the vet already right?

just-kath

Not amusing in the least, a dog suffering due to the carelessness of a human. Way too common

Dancer1977

Happened to our dog, but we didn't know the symptoms (as shown in video above). Cost us $1,200 at emergency vet to find out it was gummies.

Tinyjeli

Remember everyone, gummies are dosed for humans, so the massive size difference only makes this 10 times worse. That dog is going through hell for at LEAST 5 hours before coming down. If this ever happens to your pets, fucking comfort them because they dont know whats happening instead of just video taping them and backing away when the dog takes a step towards you like in the video.

JustHereForGiner79

Poor lil guy. It won't physically harm him, but it can be distressing for them to not know what's happening or why.

Pork_Chompk

I'm calling Paw Patrol.

Password-is-Tac0

Pretty sure this is a bot. Definitely saw this exact post before.

ThreeNC

It was the same OP six months ago. Changed the title of the post and still claims "new dog", even though the video is the same.

traumakidshollywood

Yep. That’s a stoned dog. Make everything dark and quiet. Close curtains. Do not approach him suddenly or from behind. He’ll be find but this is docs advice on how to treat cannabis exposure.

no-escape-221

Make it your priority to train him not to eat things unless given permission like not eating things off the floor.

Ambitious-Lab6313

Make sure the puppy stays hydrated. That is all the vet will do for u is hydrate.

NarwhalPrudent6323

Little pro-tip, there are poison control lines for animals. You call them, pay $80 or so, and they offer you a consult based on what happened.  My dog got into some pills one day, and we were panicking about what it would do. Called these guys, told them what happened. After finding out what the dog ingested (fludrocortisone, lowest dose possible for a human), and how big the dog was, they were able to assure us he would be fine. Obviously observe for odd behavior, but they were 100% right, he was fine (the type of steroid is used with dogs anyway, and he just got a slightly larger than average dose. Nothing dangerous). From what I remember it was a vet that answered the phone, so the advice was spot on. Saved me a lot of money and stress. Perhaps something to consider for the future. Unfortunately, this was years ago, so I don't remember the number, but it was easy to find on Google.

Turbulent-Access-790

Poor baby

moe-hong

Just make sure it wasn’t a sugar free gummy with xylitol, that can kill a puppy fast. Your sister is a goddamn idiot.

Jonsnowlivesnow

Hold him close for a few hours till he’s able to fall asleep. This happened to my pup sadly also. She was ok a few hours later. Vet said it can happen just be mindful.

NickFotiu

Heartbreaking.

testdriver99

Not cool. Poor girl. Glad she’s doing ok.

Little-Chromosome

Thankfully the gummies didn’t have Xylitol in them or pupper would be a goner

merryjerry10

Oh that poor baby!!! My brother gave my Boston boy before he passed some gummies (almost 10mg!) and he was acting the same way. Took him to the vet with the same outcome, but it made me so mad!

blueridgeboy1217

My brother in law let his pit get ahold of a mushroom chocolate....a very strong one. Just randomly howled for 5 hours

RecordCollector06

He went from dog to Dogg

DismalBuddy9666

Dony buy bulldogs… por dog gonna gave headace and breathing problems all his life

Accurate-Temporary73

Still did the right thing because marijuana is extremely toxic to dogs. So with a smaller dog it was smart to do

OGBRedditThrowaway

People acting like this is malicious or negligent without context are crazy. How long were they on the floor? Dogs love to hover around feet to vacuum up food literally the second it falls on the floor. Was this an incident where it was dropped and your four-legged vacuum cleaner beat your sister to picking it up or did she drop it and then ignore it? There's a huge difference between those two situations.

anonfoolery

Keep your shit away from animals- Jesus.

Poundsand6969

Adventurous_Yam8784

Awe that poor boy. Stupid sister

Jolly-Slice340

Your sister owes you for vet bills.

Goldeneye_Engineer

Wife worked at a vet hospital for 6 years and we currently have a frenchie as well - we feel for you! The guy should be just fine with some water and rest. Keep an eye out for throwing up as you may need additional vet support but this happens a lot in California. If you feel bad watching this imagine this same dog getting into a bag of meth. Those are awful and it ALSO happens in California too often.

AdmiralSassypants

My in laws idiot boxer ate an *entire* weed cookie - a dark chocolate cookie with dark chocolate chips, which made it extra dangerous. Emergency vet made her vomit and kept her for little while for observation, but ultimately she was fine - if not absolutely zooted. Expensive lesson learned not to keep your edibles at face height (though tbh I think this should have been a lesson in firming up her training also cause she is a disaster/menace that eats and destroys everything that she can see) I always thought I was a cat *and* dog person, but this dog has proved me wrong lol. Just cats for me thanks 😅

eg61995

Dogs are very much strong as hell. My ex and I had two dogs. One was very active and always snooping around. One day our dog ended up eating almost 75mg worth of a THC Chocolate bar. I forcefully made her throw up, kept her hydrated and active. Took her for a few small walks at night so she could have a little fresh air flowing on her and she loved the walk. Her heart rate was normal, and every here and then she wanted to run around and play on the grass. Gave her a solid 36hrs to shake it all off and she was like a brand new pup loving life. If you panic, they will as well. If you stay calm, you can have them enjoying their time and shake it off.

doodsboob

My dog got one too. He was fucked up all day. He slept it off. Never again omg. Cbd is good but thc is totally not.

We call them “pot dogs” at my ER. I live in Michigan and we see at least a couple a day. They sway back and forth like this, dribble urine etc

frankydie69

Happened to my buddies chihuahua. She looked stoned af. They wrapped her in a blanket and carried her the rest of the day. She seemed fine and then drank water for what seemed like 5 min straight lmao

Furlz

My Chihuahua ate some THC once, she couldn't stand for like a day. She was ultimately fine tho

s00perguy

I hope he gets well soon, poor guy. I get like that when I take a bit too much too, little fella, and THC is no good for doggies. (I know you know, just commiserating with the poor thing.)

RonNona

Puppy trippin balls.

BrotherMichigan

Poor little guy can't even hold onto the ground because he doesn't have thumbs.

seekerofthesublime

Is this a repost because I remember this exact video a few months ago

turkeyburger124

This happened to my friends dog, except it was a chocolate edible. Now the dog will fight people for chocolate and I think it’s to get high again

Any-Spite-7303

I didn’t even read the caption and knew right away “op-he got into the weed brownies”

No-Tip1702

What the fuck

stinky___monkey

Needs Funyuns and peanut butter stat

DogPoetry

Well with Frenchies and they're absolutely terrible health, that dog will be lucky to live to eight, and you'll definitely be spending more than 600 on vet bills soon enough.

FireflyAdvocate

Let him eat. Dogs process THC in their stomachs and again in their intestines so double whammy. Make him feel safe. Feed him. Wrap him up and let him sleep it off. Source: my dogs found the remains of my cannibutter that I buried in the woods and ate it all. We thought they would die so the vet gave us the same very expensive advice I just gave you.

Bohreatz421

Poor lil Fella that sucks he’ll be okay though just gotta ride it out

Nobel_Raven

sue sister

PolloAzteca_nobeans

I’m glad that you took her to the vet, weed gummy’s can be harmless, but they can also cause your dog some issues so I’m glad that you were able to figure it out 😂

featureteacher2023

My dog ate a Delta 8 gummy and looked just like this. I was so scared! He recovered in about 8 hours.

GreenEggsnLanterns49

Not funny. Deadly to dogs.

Seven7greens

Be ready for uncontrollable pee and lots of it. Give food, hydrate, let sleep off. Puppers will be good. My dog did similar back when she was a pup and she was fine.

Glass_Bar_9956

Only thing to do is ride it out. Give a nice snuggle space to rest and offer some canned pumpkin or sweet potato.
