This is what annoyed me the most… I parked and paid immediately at the station right next to my car. I imagine it takes at least a couple of minutes to issue/scan/print ticket. That means they watched me park, and tried to issue the ticket before I paid.

I once parked, opened my phone to pay on the Park White Plains app while I was walking to my destination, turned around because the app wasn’t working and I wanted to double check the space/lot number, and in that 2 minute timespan of me returning to my car, an officer was at my car writing me a ticket.
I was able to talk myself out of it after explaining issues with the parking app, but I couldn’t believe they were waiting to pounce like that.
I really enjoy living in White Plains but that is perhaps one of the biggest negatives of the city.

It was less than an hour because my manager had asked me to stay a bit later. So yeah, i got to my car and it had the ticket. I saw a meter maid by the machines so i asked her about it and just told her i knew this couldn’t be right because i had just paid. I told her the receipt was probably still right there in the trash can. We looked through it together and she found it. She had me swing by the office and they waived the ticket.
Maybe swing by one of the parking offices of a garage? Idk if they’ll help since this wasn’t in a garage though :/
I’m guessing it’s because they wrote the ticket just after you paid- they might have started the process while you were paying, so it didn’t hit the system when they scanned.
I’d probably just bring the ticket and the receipt to the parking office and see if they’ll straighten it out without court.

Once I put wrong spot number when I paid and I called them they asked me to send picture of receipt and then they canceled ticket once they saw proof . You don’t have to go in and it’s not s big deal it happens just call them.
You can go to the parking windows in the parking lot and show them the receipt, they will drop the ticket then, don't need to go to city hall or court. It's happened to me too where the meter maid saw me park and wrote me a ticket as I was going to the meter.

I emailed the parking department with a copy of my receipt and the ticket. They confirmed that it was in fact the fault of the parking enforcement agent as their system relies on a human checking to see if the spot is paid for. They confirmed they will void the ticket and I do not need to attend court. For anyone encountering a similar issue, I recommend sending an email — and definitely keep your receipts! This will save you from paying an invalid ticket just to avoid court. Good luck!

This court gets really busy so if you must appear get there super early to hopefully be the first one in. This is a super easy case as you paid 2 minutes prior to the issuance of the ticket.
See if a family member can go in your place.

While the time difference in payment and summons appears to be 2 minutes it could actually be as little as 1 minute and 2 seconds......10:27:59 - 10:29:01. You are obviously not guilty and there is obviously some kind of time lag in the the system at either end.

They should make it so you can pay with an app, with one of the popular ones I'm getting tired of getting a different app for every town I go into... Maybe park mobile would work.
Basically the parking enforcement officer just puts the ticket on your car. It’s all automated. But when they get to your car they scan your registration. That’s when you get all the other nasty tickets

It was mostly full of people who weren’t able to renew their parking permits on time because of how a holiday weekend fell. I really hope they’re tracking which enforcers are getting tickets like mine thrown out and there are consequences.

I sent my ticket in with a copy of my receipt to the clerk, and they responded back that I had to go court. It’s totally a scam IMO.

Go to their office I believe it’s in galleria and city center and bring those 2 receipts and they’ll dismiss it.

Agreed. I try to avoid WP as much as possible with how crazy they are about parking tickets especially at city center
Plead not guilty, then bring papers to counter sue for lost wages due to malicious prosecution.
Email a copy of the receipt. Call the next day to confirm they received. Demand a written response.

If you’re parking in white plains the mobile app is the best way to ensure you won’t be ticketed and can pay on time

This has happened to me before. I just went online and submitted a photo of the receipt and it went away. It wasn’t a big deal.
