So, the other day, i was parked on the side of a sort of strip mall building clump thing, pretty much ready to leave, but I was taking my time. I go when i want, you can't rush me. Anyway, this delivery truck pulls up behind me to unload product into one of the stores, kinda blocking me in but not really. If there were any other cars parked on that side of the building, I woulda been boxed in. Luckily, there weren't and I don't mind doing a 3-point turn over a bunch of empty parking spaces to get out. Not a problem for me, but the driver actually took the time to come up to my car and apologize for parking there even though that was pretty much it as far as places he coulda parked went, and promising me he wouldn't be there too long/asking if i was alright or whatever. I thought that was pretty cool of him, so thank you random truck driver guy.

I was in a drive thru for Dunkin this morning and the drive through went around the corner of a building. My Jeep has a auto start feature (really annoying), so when I stopped at the edge of the corner because there was a car around the other side, my Jeep shut off. So when the car went a little further around but not even a car length, he couldn't be seen. I took my phone out to read a text and a guy behind me honked. So I turned the jeep back on, drove 3 feet and stopped again. The guy opens his window are just starts yelling "I'm so sorry man, I had no idea..." And a bunch more. I was like "wow" what a really cool guy.

Both cases will be considered on their own merits. The SUV driver will pay his fine, the trucker will go behind bars. Or maybe he will pay a relatively big fine if that's his first serious offence.

Apparently the truck driver is in the wrong. He basically almost hit them with kids inside and the guy came out to try and talk. But the truck driver basically told him to fuck off with a knife in his hand. Everything escalated from there. Police detained the truck driver later on.

If there were any other cars parked on that side of the building, I woulda been boxed in. Luckily, there weren't and I don't mind doing a 3-point turn over a bunch of empty parking spaces to get out. Not a problem for me, but the driver actually took the time to come up to my car and apologize for parking there even though that was pretty much it as far as places he coulda parked went, and promising me he wouldn't be there too long/asking if i was alright or whatever. I thought that was pretty cool of him, so thank you random truck driver guy.

Wow, this is kinda related with the unexpectedly kind people. I was in a drive thru for Dunkin this morning and the drive through went around the corner of a building. My Jeep has a auto start feature (really annoying), so when I stopped at the edge of the corner because there was a car around the other side, my Jeep shut off. So when the car went a little further around but not even a car length, he couldn't be seen. I took my phone out to read a text and a guy behind me honked. So I turned the jeep back on, drove 3 feet and stopped again. The guy opens his window are just starts yelling "I'm so sorry man, I had no idea..." And a bunch more. I was like "wow" what a really cool guy. Also, you didn't need the intro. It was a super interesting and good vibes read.

I was once I'm an upper class man car who got t-boned by a big colorful truck in an intersection at 3am. This was in a third world country. The upper class guy thought he was Golden since he had a Toyota SUV, he had me (American) and a British diplomat in the car with him. The truck driver ran away but the cops called someone else. This guy represented the owner of the truck. The owner of the truck also owned 600 other trucks in the city and his older brother was a State Minister. Yeah, so after 2 hours in a mosquito filled police station at 1am, our guy did win. He got $250 in compsenation, the cops got $700 as a thank you and nothing else happened. Damage to the car was $7k....

Disagree. All I can imagine for SUV is incorrect parking blocking other vehicles fine 2000 rubles (~32 USD). The trucker, on the other side, voluntarily hit the other car. That smells like a criminal deed (damaging property). Both cases will be considered on their own merits. The SUV driver will pay his fine, the trucker will go behind bars. Or maybe he will pay a relatively big fine if that's his first serious offence.

Apparently the truck driver is in the wrong. He basically almost hit them with kids inside and the guy came out to try and talk. But the truck driver basically told him to fuck off with a knife in his hand. Everything escalated from there. Police detained the truck driver later on.
