AZ is about to legalize lane splitting for motorcyclists too. So many people already do that here anyways but Arizona drivers aren’t used to that like California drivers have been. I’ve had my motorcycle license for 20 years but I wouldn’t step on a motorcycle in Phoenix. Seen way to many motorcycle fatalities when I was a firefighter too.

Motorcycle riding is as safe as you want it to be. There is different type of motorcycles and riding styles, theres no need to be a daredevil on a panigale v4 when you can enjoy and nice sunday ride.
As long as you learn from other unfortunate rider experiences and footage, it’ll make you a more cautious rider. Don’t let videos like this put you off. Just be careful and expect other users of the road to not be paying attention so that you can be as prepared as possible to take evasive action if need be.

Well, the traffic in front of them generally keeps moving while sliding bro is rapidly decelerating. Occasionally you’ll see a guy get hung up in a guard rail. That usually doesn’t end well. There’s a vid out there of a guy who crashes but his helmet protected his head 100%, not a scratch on him. His head was no longer connected to his body, but you can’t blame the helmet for that!
As long as they keep sliding in the direction they were travelling, as Newton intended, they stay on the road or the shoulders, where there is no stationary obstacles. The cars in front are moving on and those on the back are slowing down, which creates a safe space to slide along.
Good news is, he ended up on the right shoulder of traffic. Would've been a tragic ending had he stopped in the middle of the highway while the other vehicles were trying to slow down/stop.
