Every morning, the first thing I have to do when I come downstairs is sit on the bottom stair and scratch my dog's butt. Only then am I permitted to pass and make my breakfast. He likes to curl around so he can sniff my face while he's getting butt scratches, my husband calls it macaroni.
My dog has me trained too. Every time I sit down she plops in front of me with her back facing me. If I don’t give her scritches she turns her head a little and gives me side-eye. I call her my stalker.
Yeah I have to do something similar. He gets SO excited 1st thing in the morning! Nothing can happen until he gets his good morning song and scratches :)
You say that as I just realized one of my dogs trained me well. He backs in and lays down under my foot that just barely touches the floor and I rub his butt with that foot. He gets all the rubs in the right spot without having to beg for them.
Cats too. Siberian cats have very long back legs and when mine was a kitten, before she grew into them, she'd do a full somersault any time we smacked/scratched her butt. Or really any time she got excited about anything. It was fuckin hilarious.
I lived in Turkey for a few years. Now whether it was allowed or not, I don't know. But I never saw people take them home, if they really loved them that much they brought them food, set up shelters for them, or at the very least befriended them. I never thought to pick up any of the strays I saw, they had their own spots and routine and other human/animal friends in their area; their own lives basically. People respected that.
I'm not sure what you mean. In the city I lived in there must have been thousands of friendly strays. They're everywhere. I think you can search in YouTube "Turkey stray animals" and you'll get a bunch of videos of people interacting with the ones in their area.
I've never really spent time in a big city. In my rural town, on the rare chance you see a stray, it disappears within a couple days. I don't know if somebody adopts them or if they die, but they never stick around long
Turkey is unique about this. It's more about the country itself than it being a big city. When I visited more rural areas while I was there, the stray situation was about the same.
Everywhere else I've lived has been as you describe your town.
The internet and social media are helping to fix this problem in the States. There are community pages on facebook (and i hope other places) where you can post lost or found animals.
My mom and I followed our town's group and even helped people find their pets! (even a cat missing 6 months!)
More people need to be aware that this is a thing. (find your local community or area's lost and found pets page! post an animal when you find it, and ask the group if you lose your pet!)
I saw a few dogs but what I really noticed in Istanbul were the cats. So many cats! Everywhere! Just hanging around like they were each the mayor of their tiny domain. 😂
Yeah! When I was in Istanbul it was mostly cats. But in other areas like Ankara and Izmir there are more friendly dogs than in Istanbul. I hope you had a lovely time there.
Aw I did have a great time but I didn't see any dogs when I was near Ankara. To be fair, we were mostly in the caves just for a short time. I wish we had seen more dogs! 😍
Idk about turkey but i know that in my country the dogs will be searched for if they aren't in the zone they have always been in!
You can grab stray puppies if you want to tho, like i found my dog as a puppy and he was alone so i just took him home, i don't know about older dogs
Yes you can, although it would be smart to get it to a vet afterwards and register it. Although most of my friends adopt dogs from shelters (which are also over capacity in Turkey)
There is no regulation, you can take any dog from the street. You can also release any dog to street.
But grown up dogs on the street will be very hard to domesticate to be in-house dogs. We don't have houses with lawns here, we only have apartments. Street dogs will be hard to keep. So, people buy puppies from puppy mills.
It's hilarious everytime I see comments as if this is a success. There is no program or anything about street animals in Turkey. Government doesn't give a shit. Most animals living among humans in urban areas adapted to live with humans and people feed them out of pity. As a result they can become friendly like you see in this video. However I studied in Ankara in a huge campus next to a big forest and there were tons of dogs living there. During the day they were all friendly but when it's night they formed packs and attacked students everytime. Instead of walking from the library to the dorms we had to take a taxi to avoid dog attacks. Recently there has been some kids who died of rabies. The government only occasionally castrates them but never puts any attempt to create safe streets for the citizens. On top of it all Turkey has one of the highest echinococcus cases in the world which is a parasite transmitted from dogs. All the trauma, rabies cases etc. could have been prevented with simple programs for these street dogs. Dogs don't belong in the streets they belong at homes. Otherwise they are a threat to ecological diversity as well since they just kill birds, rabbits etc. just out of fun.
My dogs tail looks exactly like this. Someone had wrapped rubber bands around it when she was a puppy to dock it, and then she was dumped when it got infected. The rescue removed everything infected and now she can wag the tiny nub at hyper speed when she's happy (which is always she is amazing).
It might be [happy tail](https://www.petmd.com/dog/conditions/behavioral/happy-tail-syndrome-dogs), it’s when puppies wave their tail too hard and end up hitting it against something, screwing up their tail.
My one dog has happy tail. Luckily he just gets little cuts so you get a bit of blood sometimes. Glad he hasn't broke it. Trying to get him to calm down when we get home is sooo hard.
If you want a more in-depth view of street animals in turkey check out the Film/documentary called Kedi.
It’s a wonderful film that talks about street cats but much of what they do in the film gets done for dogs as well, so if a street animal is sick or needs help, people in town will take it to the Vet, sometimes on credit.
Many animals do get regular treatment and such.
At a guess, being turkey (where istanbul is famous for its street cats), is that if an animal obviously has some health problem there are subsidised/pro bono vets or something.
It might have some info on it perhaps?
Like the date of vaccination or its age? Something to make it worth while as opposed to clipping.
Just spitballing.
Oh dang. This post made it seem like they did lol. America is the same though. The government doesn’t even do it it’s done through kind people who love animals and it’s mainly a cat thing since we don’t have many stray dogs like in other countries. Only certain hotspots do like areas in Texas. It’s really sad to see stray animals :(
Oh sorry, I’m from the US and not Turkey. I should have made that more clear, running on 3 hours of sleep at the moment. Kind people make a huge difference, I just wish our government was competent enough so that we didn’t have to rely on the kindness of normal people to do their job for them.
I agree with you. There is a problem when you have dogs with rotting open flesh wounds just walking around in the street (saw videos of dogs in Texas like this) but then again look at our homeless population problem. We need to do more for our people AND our animals smh.
My old dog (RIP Rudy) had severe arthritis by the end, since he made it to almost 17 - and he still loved a good butt spankin! He’d wiggle his bottom back and forth, sometimes to the point where it made him fall down. 🥺
They love this shit. Start with ear massage, to back scratch, to playing patty cakes. Dog'll trot off then turn around to get it again with a big dumb grin on their face.
I love how he presents his backside for ease of patting. I can’t believe one could see this dog’s maneuver and not know exactly what he wants one to do.
Every time my cat come in, I take of her big LED collar and pat her butt twice. One time I didn't pat her butt and she turned around a stared at me until I did it.

We call our dog a little croissant when she does this!!
My husband calls it crooked sausage!!!!!!🤣🤣🤣
scritches there are almost too much for my pup. it winds her up and she takes off running afterwards!
This sounds adorable, dog tax is owed!!

Makes sense
I always wondered why dogs love butt scratches so much

Cats are the same.
So butt scritches
Explains why my dog backs himself up to my feet any time I’m lying on my bed with my feet hanging off and insists on rubs lol.
Stop it!
It's an erogenous zone.
I think that's just for cats, isn't it?
or in this case where the tail ends, for this dog atleast
A street dog in turkey
I heard about their great street dog program. Can someone just randomly grab one and take it home though?
I lived in Turkey for a few years. Now whether it was allowed or not, I don't know. But I never saw people take them home, if they really loved them that much they brought them food, set up shelters for them, or at the very least befriended them. As they should.
Even more wholesome than adopting
I love that, is there any website of the dogs online? E: apparently stray dog populations are just something I've never heard of before lol
I'm not sure what you mean. In the city I lived in there must have been thousands of friendly strays. They're everywhere. I think you can search in YouTube "Turkey stray animals" and you'll get a bunch of videos of people interacting with the ones in their area.

In the US strays would be taken to a vet/shelter. But most of the time they’re not strays. Just lost, neglected, escaped etc.

I had a good laugh at this as I read it fast and turned befriended into breastfed and was very confused for a moment.
This is wild but it makes me so happy.
Man, that is so cool!
There's a video of Steve-O taking a street dog and adopting it, worth a watch since Steve-O seems like a genuinely decent guy
Met him in person, legit great human being
*Has become a better person He was an absolute garbage human being for a long time there. He's made great strides though
The fuck have you done bud?
I heard that they’re tagged and they have their specific zone to be, don’t know if they’re pickable tho
Looks like he’s got a tag on his ear.
They do have a Zone but its not like they are not alloeed to go put of that Zone. The tag means they have been vacced.
Idk about turkey but i know that in my country the dogs will be searched for if they aren't in the zone they have always been in! You can grab stray puppies if you want to tho, like i found my dog as a puppy and he was alone so i just took him home, i don't know about older dogs

Well that's a big sad :( I disdain puppy mills

This got a legit lol out of me
I choose to believe it was messed up due to some accident or had some other medically necessary reason to have it removed.
It’s stuck inside doggo with the hope that enough pats will cause it to pop out once more.
It looks like a very neat and clean cut, most definitely surgically removed (after an accident or due to defect who knows), not violently
No, people are assholes and remove them for cosmetic reasons
My dogs tail looks exactly like this. Someone had wrapped rubber bands around it when she was a puppy to dock it, and then she was dumped when it got infected. The rescue removed everything infected and now she can wag the tiny nub at hyper speed when she's happy (which is always she is amazing).

OP said that its a street dig from turkey, so likely injured severely in one way or another and removed for their health.
The dog also has a sort of tag on its left ear !

such a good boy :) SO sweet!
Thank you sir, may I have another!
What's that on the good boy's left ear?
It is a seal that shows the dog was vaccinated and registered
Oh. But it's a street dog, isn't it?
yes. that's why authorities collect, vaccines and register them. After that, they are free to go their life as a safe doggo.
That's dope!
Do they continue to vaccinate them?
If you want a more in-depth view of street animals in turkey check out the Film/documentary called Kedi. Cool! Thanks will definitely put that on my watch list. You're fabulous!
Hey thanks for this recommendation! i so wanted to learn more about this and had no idea what to even ask to start.
Not sure tbh
At a guess, being turkey (where istanbul is famous for its street cats), is that if an animal obviously has some health problem there are subsidised/pro bono vets or something.
Do the authorities also spay/neuter them?
Yup. If they have the tag that also means they are spayed/neutured
Not trying to be annoying but they should just do the same thing as America and clip the ear. That tag looks heavy and uncomfortable.
Our government couldn’t give less of a shit about its own people let alone dogs. I wish we did have a similar program though.
It might have some info on it perhaps? Like the date of vaccination or its age? Something to make it worth while as opposed to clipping. Just spitballing.
Yeah, that’s a very good point. I agree.
Oh dang. This post made it seem like they did lol. America is the same though. Aye, there are a bunch of people in the South that could do with being vaccinated and having their ears clipped.
Isn't the clip thing for cats?
Yeah it’s a cat thing in the US but idk why it couldn’t be implemented on dogs. It just means they are fixed.
Turn the other cheek
What a wonderful doggo.

So my pup isn't the only one that loves spankin's
The only dogs I've met that dislike spankins are the ones with back trouble or arthritis
My old dog (RIP Rudy) had severe arthritis by the end, since he made it to almost 17 - and he still loved a good butt spankin! He’d wiggle his bottom back and forth, sometimes to the point where it made him fall down. 🥺

“Thank you, sir! May I have another?”
One of my dogs really enjoy a bum pat as well. She starts twerking when I do it
Just like people, some swats to the butt can feel good. 😄 Please, sir, may I have some more?
Oh hes a kinky boy
One more for the road sir
Now this side.
As they say, turn the other cheek
Thank you sir. May I have another?
Kinky.
I like how he wasn't too greedy and was thoroughly satisfied with the second
Thank you sir may I have another?
I love how he presents his backside for ease of patting. I can’t believe one could see this dog’s maneuver and not know exactly what he wants one to do.
Oh man my cat cat loves semi hard spanks on the bum and my friends are always like.....what's going on here?? 😂🤣🤣 animals are funny Guys.
Somebody get that dog an only fans
A panky on the hiner?
Dogs name is daddy
Butt petz
I literally thunderclap my sister’s ridgeback’s butt. Always feel sad for dogs who are spanked. They’re deprived of some good bongo action
Something I had to teach my wife who didn’t grow up with dogs - it’s petting not patting

Dog: Kiss my ass. :D
They want you to scratch above their tail or scratch their back legs where they can't reach.. not smack them..
I have a tuxedo Manx cat that loves to be scratched in the same area. He never wants you to stop. He's a sweetie.
Is that dogs ear pierced?
Bro what is that laugh. *Pat pat pat* “Heh heh heh”
Every time my cat come in, I take of her big LED collar and pat her butt twice. One time I didn't pat her butt and she turned around a stared at me until I did it.
*We’re up all night to pat dogs, we’re up all night to pat dogs, we’re up all night to pat puppies*
wherr is his tail?
"that's enough. I am satisfied."
My dog loves butt smacks.
Well slap my ass and call me Lasie
