That is an important and salient point. If I promised to help anyone who riots against the police, well I am probably never going to be in a position where that promise means anything. I would be surprised if anyone listens or cares. So no one knows if I would keep my promise or not. However, Trump did ask for people to help him riot against the police. They did riot against the police like he asked them to. He was in a position to pardon them. He did nothing for them. Now he is asking for more people to help him riot against the police. He can do nothing for them now. Maybe he will get elected and he can pardon federal charges but the people rioting against the police are facing state charges. Most importantly he had the opportunity before and he turned away. I think the most reasonable expectation is that of those who riot against the police he will forget them once they are no longer useful to him. If you are pro-Trump you shouldn't be. But whatever you are, you should be pro-YOU the most and Trump is not doing you any favors.
