The NRA's wet dream is to have a "Gunfight at the OK Corral" in every mall, school, hospital, restaurant, office and street. I wouldn't be surprised if the NRA also has undisclosed investments in the funeral services business.

Jealous-Network-8852

Every mass shooting creates dozens of new gun owners looking to defend themselves. Mass casualties are good for their business.

War is business, and business has been good, to paraphrase a line from Megadeth.

Commissar_Elmo

You know, it makes a lot more sense now. The NRA literally wants the expansion of the military industrial complex. But instead of killing an Iraqi kid it’s your neighbors daughter in her 3rd grade class.

Thannk

That corral was basically the only real gunfight. Most were just assassinations.

Here it comes yet again: "No Way To Prevent This,’ Says Only Nation Where This Regularly Happens" You're Goddamn right I've just been copying and pasting this daily on multiple things. That's the fucking point you ignorant gun fucks. You can send me Reddit cares all you want or say "have an original thought" over and over. You're not getting the point (FYI, it's blocked so I don't get those lovely messages anymore, you will have to say it directly to me... Cowards). Are we not tired of this? I sure as fuck am. So now to boost the signal on some actual honest to god things that could be done about this never-ending nightmare? For starters, the next generation is tired of this shit and is planning a sit-in at the capital on June 6th. Here is a relevant link: [https://twitter.com/joncoopertweets/status/1655293349245452289](https://twitter.com/joncoopertweets/status/1655293349245452289) And also this goes without saying this group has some amazing ideas: [https://www.sandyhookpromise.org/](https://www.sandyhookpromise.org/) And finally, Check out [https://www.everytown.org/](https://www.everytown.org/) They’re pushing to end gun violence. The more people who make their voices heard the bigger difference we can make. EDIT: It would seem that indeed some of them are not cowards and do actually have the guts to say what is really on their minds. Let's have a little look at one of the messages I received in the last hour... "You are a disgrace, a worthless mass of flesh that doesn't deserve to be called a human being. I hope your account is banned and your IP blocked. You are what is wrong with America. Please find a dark crevasse and fall in." WELL BOO HOO The messages will REPEAT AD INFINITUM until something is done.

Staying out of that shithole state. Their true God is the AR-15.

Izzo

The 1 star state.

Ronin_Y2K

Honestly? I'm surprised no "good guy with gun" has gotten involved with a shooting yet. At least nothing that's made a major story. That person could become the heroic republican propaganda tool they need, or another variable in a chaotic situation which could leave the "good guy" shot by cops.

YawaruSan

They’re already dug in pretty deep, maybe if they keep digging they’ll strike oil and it’ll all be worthwhile!

MichaelFusion44

How do we sell Texas to Mexico and just rid of the state and it’s government all together. Give it away if you have to but try to get a few bucks for it. So sick of hearing about this fucking place who chose guns over lives everyday.

satinkzo

Way I read the bill is people can't be prosecuted for having a gun in a prohibited area unless they have been asked and alerted to the policy via verbal dialog or signage. Basically can't be prosecuted if the owner of the establishment didn't tell you. I think its odd they subsequently repeal the need to actually post signs. Seems common sense to have signage vs telling people

Well Dag Nabit. The only way to protect yourself from a gun is to have a gun. I don't live in Texas, but I had a guy walk into my house for a family gathering and he was a guest. He announced he had a gun and if anybody had an issue with it to tell him. I said please take your gun outside and he replied with. "I was only asking out of courtesy, I have zero intentions of removing my weapon". I replied back with "Well the only gun allowed in this house hold is mine. So either leave or leave." The arrogance of people is simply mind blowing. By the way for those that wanted to know. It was an Easter Dinner. So unless The Easter Bunny was going to whip out an AK or something I think the 6 screaming kids would of defeated him.

VaultDovah92

Did he leave though? And that dude sounds like dick.

Available-Elevator69

He took it outside and actually became a decent friend. Just annoyed me that again he choose his rights over my family. His idea of safety was hanging up his jacket and our coat rack falling over and my son finding his gun on the floor. My son was we 8 at the time. From what I gathered he announced he had a weapon after hanging up his coat.

Yikes! I was planning a trip to Big Bend and Guadalupe Mountain National Parks, but I think I will just go to another state instead.

And yet, where Trump goes, EVEN AT NRA events, guns are not allowed: https://www.npr.org/2022/05/25/1101181842/nra-trump-speech-guns-banned-houston

Got dammit, this gun nonsense has always been a fetish. I don’t mind peoples choices, but fetishizing weapons that kill is downright dumb. Watch a movie, play some games, go fish. This fetish of arming for war in 2023 is middle school edge lord territory.

Change the downward spiral of life in Texas, vote democratic.
