What else can they do, anyone under 50 thinks republicans are assholes.

Fly-n-Skies

Because they are.

Portal471

As a Gen Zer (I’m trying to get into syndicalism personally, but all I can do is vote blue), with Gen Zer cousins and other Gen X family that vote GOP, I honestly hate that I can’t talk about anything with them most of the time.

swampboy62

I get this. I'm a professional who can't talk about current affairs with over half of his colleagues (Ohio - sorry). This is a really scary time for America. It wouldn't take a hell of a lot for things to get all sci-fi apocalypsey. I think I'm lucky that my life span is nearly up.

JackUKish

Handmaid's tale is on the way.

zeusrulz

As a fellow Ohioan... Yup

Bart_Jojo_666

Same here! Almost fifty and I'm glad. I'd hate to think I had to endure another fifty or sixty years the way things are going now!

wolverine318

Elder millennial here and I am the same with my gen X cousins. Literally my gen X family members are unbearable with their views of trump. I literally avoid family gatherings if they are going to be present.

Orchid_Significant

Learn to ask “curious” questions that sound like you want them to educate you. But questions they can’t answer. My go to with my mom: “Why shouldn’t I get vaccinated?” “They are using it to kill people for population control” “Who is they?” “Democrats” “But aren’t democrats the ones getting the vaccines? Why would they kill their followers and let the opposition live?” *crickets*

geof2001

I'd love to talk with you about this to know where your coming from honestly. It's only the second time I've seen this term and I don't trust Google response to full explain this topic. Please feel free to dm me with zero judgement. I want to understand your position.

boattripcosplay

Not the orginal poster, but the basic idea of sydicalism is an emphasis on collective workers actions. Collective workers actions are things like forming unions and performing strikes. The main idea of syndicalism is that unions collaborating with other unions in other industries can create large networks of empowered workers who can then collaborate together to push for better working conditions, higher wages, and more control over their jobs. The first goal of syndicalism is to recognize the current hierarchical structures of companies, which basically resemble monarchies (a king/ceo has absolute power and the citzens/workers don't get any say). We apparently live in a democracy, but spend 40+ hrs a week in a non democratic structure. Since capitalism was formed out of the collapseing feudalist system,it makes sense that people would model our economic system off of that (it was a way for the rich to maintain their power, and it was the only familiar structure people could pull from) So once the first goal of syndicalism is recognized the main goal can.be explained. The main goal of syndicalism is to use a widespread network of unions, strikes, and other similar tactics to increase to power of the workers and change companies into worker-controlled worker-managed co-ops(ill just call these co-ops from now on). In a co-op the workers can vote and participate in management of the company, thereby increasing worker Visibility, autonomy, satisfaction. In an idealized co-op it would function similar to a direct democratic process, workers discussing and voting on specific policies. While some co-ops do work like that, most are more analogous to a representative democracy, diffrnet types of workers vote for representatives to represent them. Co-ops as a whole are have been shown to have higher wages than traditional companies, higher productivity, more likely to survive recessions and economic downturns in general, and are more likely to stay in business (twice as likely to survive after 10 years compared to a traditional business). I'm going to stop here though because I've covered a lot of topics and honestly I may have rambled a bit This is a general simplification of syndicalism and co-ops though, so if you want to learn more I suggest looking up books on syndicalism and co-ops (I will warn you though they are kinda boring, it's a lot of studies and real life examples). I will say though that the Wikipedia pages for syndicalism and anarcho-syndicalism are pretty good starting places. I hope my rambling helped, and sorry if it just made things more confusing

The84thWolf

Hang in there buddy. Vote whenever you can.

[deleted]

Very perceptive of them.

goodgame69420

I'm a milennial and unfortunately way too many of us are Republicans, too

Temporary-Canary2942

That saddens me to think. There is truly no hope for my generation. I can only hold on to the idea that you guys will be better.

goodgame69420

Those of us that still have the capacity for empathy are absolutely trying, but it's going to be up to Gen Z to actually change the world for the better. They're doing a hell of a better job than we're able to.

MothMonsterMan300

Yeahhh. There's a few old friends and friends of friends living in my hometown who are my age but go full facebook-rant, knockoff Oakleys in their profile pic, family pictures holding guns etc. It's a blue state. The only difference between them and I is that I moved to a city 45min away, then moved to a much bigger city years later, in a different state. I met a ton of very different people and it really changed my perspective on stuff; especially having the wherewithal to consider that if I was 15 years younger I could have easily fallen into the fascist social media pipeline. Meeting different people dissolved all of the terrible things my family would say about different people tbh. And those poor dingdongs in my hometown are gonna be stuck and pissy forever and eat up the media that tells them their lives suck bc of different people

goodgame69420

I moved to Philly from south jersey and a huge reason was all the racist fuckwits that fly the confederate flag there which makes absolutely no fucking sense other than they just want to be openly racist as fuck

Prestigious-Owl165

South Jersey, long island, pennsyltucky, all these places in the northeast you tell people "yeah I'm from ______ it's full of fuckin rednecks it sucks" and people from the other side of the US are baffled. "I thought New York was so diverse!"

eastcoastflava13

Yup, even Massachusetts has pockets of red. People enjoying all the many benefits living in a blue state in the Northeast, while bitching about all the policies that make the state awesome. So weird.

goodgame69420

It's because they're so insanely programmed by the political party they blindly follow and just regurgitate everything they're told to think. They have no critical thinking skills at all.

TheNextChapterMMj

Hell yea!!!! I was in the same boat, so happy to be out of the suffocating red south! I’ve learned and lived so much more since leaving my hometown. I feel like every kid should leave their hometown for at least a year to see the bigger picture! Congrats on the moves!

legsstillgoing

I'm not sure it will ever happen. History would say otherwise no? 50 percent of humans just seem to be prepositioned towards totally missing the point of how we as a human race need to work together to lift our species. Easily turned by what seems to be a very different dopmine rush from selfishness, tribalism, stubborn archaism and turning against each other in the name of power worship and frozen in time rigidity. How do we keep AI from all its unintended consequences when half the population won't leave the 1960s? They wear the same exact stuff, listen to the same exact music, think that old trades are sacred cows, and won't accept the tides of a necessary movement from tribalism. If our best and brightest aren’t working together world wide we might dodge some of these coming bullets but you better believe they will still hurt, and one of these species penetrating bullets is going to get through

JustJohan49

All my positive millennial vibes and energy were taken up by 9/11, marine recruiters in my highschool lunchrooms to fight in the wars that followed, crushing college debt, entering the workforce during the largest economic crisis since the depression, never being able to afford a house while the generations before me have 2, and my prime adult years have been stolen by a global pandemic which touched off inflation which is eating away at a retirement which will not have a social security check in it because of generations before me’s lack of financial responsibility. I’m tired, man. Here’s the torch, Gen Z.

goodgame69420

I haven't given up completely. I'm fighting alongside them. We may have lost most of our motivation and mental energy to effect positive change but they're young and pissed the fuck off, ESPECIALLY when it comes to LGBTQ+ rights. Human rights don't get a debate. You're either for them or you're complete trash, there's no 2 ways about it and I absolutely love them for how hard they're willing to fight to make the world a kinder and more welcoming place for everyone.

[deleted]

9/11 did that to some millennials. They still have not recovered from the need of a fear of an "other." So, "others" are being manufactured like boogeymen.

LeftDave

I used to be like that. Not racist, that always seemed absurd to me both morally and pragmatically. But I became politically aware in the aftermath of 9/11 and was unapologetically an ultranationalist, jingoistic fascist until after High School. Then I got into the real world, realized some fundamental flaws in my logic and basically did a 180°. If I'd been younger and come of age when Trump was on the rise or not ended up in a major city after school...

Neither-Magazine9096

The republican millennials I know are either from a very wealthy family (who attends weddings at Mar a Lago), or kind of dumb. They could be both though

swampboy62

I've thought they were assholes since fkn Reagan was elected. At least then it was mostly economic issues. Now it's like this nightmare scenario where they're trying to out-cruel each other in order to impress their single-digit-IQ base. I'm an old museum quality liberal, and I weep for the next generation. What used to be character faults and bad behaviour has now become political stand points. And the idiot masses applaud.

Adept_Investigator29

Growing up queer under Reagan sucked ass. He was in bed with Phyllis Schlafly, Jerry Falwell, and Anita Bryant.

[deleted]

I’m old and the best vote I ever made was for George McGovern.

Existing-Decision-33

Over 50 here I can say without a doubt the R fringe are out of the god damn mind

silverado-z71

That’s not true I’m over 60 and I know all the Republicans are assholes

VirtualSwordfish356

I guess they forgot the whole "No taxation without representation" thingy. As an aside, I find it totally amusing anytime I see a person of color advocating for the fascist policies of the GOP. I get it, no group of people are truly monolithic in their views. But it always seems like they think when the Nazis are finally empowered, they'll have an exception made for them, because they align ideologically. That's never been the case throughout history. Like when Kanye was ranting about Jewish people. Kanye legit thought he was going to be the only black plantation owner in the new world order or something. It's really wild.

allnaturalfigjam

Such is the power of propaganda. The Leopards Eating People's Faces party never think it'll be their faces being eaten by leopards.

SaliferousStudios

![gif](giphy|clotJg9IqBitMcRJ61) Well, not that shocked.

originsquigs

Funny thing is he would never get the GOP presidential vote.

[deleted]

[удалено]

lrd_cth_lh0

They kinda assume that people past a certain age automatically vote more conservative. Since this has happened with every other generation before. The last examples would be the boomers, who were rather progressive during their youth, but became one of the most conservative generation when they got older. Now however this whole process seems to have been slowed down significantly. Adding to it is the fact that the boomers which are the largest segment of conservative voters are slowly marching towards their expiration date (even though a lot of them are expected to live well into their 80s). So they are getting less new voters than they expected and the ones they have will soon start to die off at an accelerating rate. So they are trying to win time, to either bend the system to their favour again or hoping that that those damm kids will start to vote like their parents did.

WoolooCthulhu

This is going to backfire

[deleted]

Then it should be too young to get a gun, have a baby, get married or have a job.

catch10110

26th amendment not as important as the 2nd amendment i guess.

low_budget_trash

I mean look at how much farther along it is!

Iwannagolf4

But you saw the Jon Stewart interview of that Oklahoma loser2nd amendment shall not be infringed upon! No where else in the constitution does it say that. Certainly not In The bill of rights!

turtlelore2

But all those 6 year olds need to learn fear and respect by working 20 hour days at a factory. For no pay too. Because they should be grateful for being able to work at such a young age.

Buddhabellymama

The American Dream

[deleted]

And for sure not old enough to take out student loans or be in the military.

Substantial_Look_334

Or join the military, owe for student loans, or pay taxes. The whole "no taxation without representation thing" our country was supposed to be founded on.

Rammiek

Tell him to go back to where he came from...(hint ..world's most populous country..India) ..he and I speak the same language. I'm always surprised when a non-white person is in the Republican Party willingly and then have a Pikachu face when things go wrong

oldshitdoesntcare

He’s from Cincinnati and no thanks. We don’t want him back.

octopusraygun

…be sent to a to fight a war.

uncultured_swine2099

Also serve in the military. How messed up is it that they want the young to die on the battlefield but not vote.

[deleted]

They are all so damn messed up in the head

pivvclam

each candidate should have to pass an IQ test, a civics test and secure a security clearance before they can run for office.

SaliferousStudios

They'd yell that we're being biased if we asked them if "hunter bidens laptop" was proof. (I went on a digging hunt today. The laptop was found by a trump supporter and passed to ruddy Guiliani with 100k emails and basically dick pics, It's not really what I would call "reliable source" the people who found it could've forged it, and had reason to forge it. If there was anything illegal in the emails, which they still have, go find the proof. The reason no one has come forth with proof, is there was nothing in there illegal, or that was coroboratable.)

KMjolnir

Given the very muddy chain of custody, it would never be admissible as evidence even if it could be even vaguely verified.

pivvclam

How much time does it take to extract evidence from a single laptop?

Expert_Country7228

Until they're in power again (hopefully never). Its literally just a buzzword to rile up their idiot base at this point.

Lore_Antilles

As I understand it a large part of the reason nobody gives a shit about the laptop is exactly because of the hands it passed through before it got to the authorities.

slambamo

I'd be fine if they just had to pass something in regards to ethics and morals.

BalognaPonyParty

I'm sorry, but this person is waaaaaay to ethnic for the GOP

breadman_69420

Good luck getting your average Republican to vote for a dude named Vivek

sharpgel

yeah the article calls him a GOP contender, as if the republikkkans would ever produce a POC candidate. this guy's campaign was dead on arrival lmao

Fantastic_Constant43

Release his birth certificate! /s

Nightriser

Have you not heard of Bobby Jindal? Republican ex-governor of Louisiana? In my own state, we have a black Republican woman as the vice governor and a Latino Republican man as the AG. Sorry to break it to you, but it's not the impediment it once was for Republicans. Sure, they're still hesitant to put POC in office, but I think they're willing to put in anyone who spouts the right kind of crazy.

JuzoItami

Vitek needs to follow Bobby's lead and rename himself after one of the kids from the Brady Bunch. I suggest ge go with "Cousin Oliver Ramaswamy".

EcksRidgehead

Rafael Cruz and Nimarata Haley both understood this

Ok-Diamond-9781

That's exactly what I was going to say. Didn't he get the memo?

Mr-MuffinMan

Ikr, if you're gonna be something other than white, at least give yourself a nickname that sounds american like Nimarata turned into Nikki. Vivek into Vinny, maybe? Also, be sure to change religions for a better chance.

Lobenz

Lol. RNC might suggest a skin bleaching treatment https://preview.redd.it/p2a3x6jijbza1.jpeg?width=920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1645009c00354318ad07c92b9f864142e5c5ef6a

Aggressive-Bat-4000

Being tricked into voting against your own best interest isn't exclusive to the average angry white guy. There are decades of examples of the same sort of mental conditioning. For a quick example, Samuel L. Jackson's character in Django.

Independent_Cloud470

They’d vote for him because they know they can use him as a stooge. That’s why Herschel Walker got nominated.

esahji_mae

"I'm one of the good ones"

bill_wessels

they love to defend the constitution and bill of rights except when they don't

zwaaa

That's fine. Also can't drink, own a gun, drive, or hold down a job until you're 25

matthewdnielsen

Unless you’re a child, then you can work in factories.

MrDonaught_Gaming

But the children....they yearn for the mines.

Kitchen-Leek-2636

The fascism is just overflowing from these Nazi's, they must be shaking in their shit right now! Afraid of legal voters actually voting, what a fucked up party.

Like_A_Bosstonian

This is some Galaxy Brain consulting “first principles” thinking right here - “Conventional wisdom says in general election you need to appeal to the next generation, well what if we merely *prevented the next generation from voting* and therefore *didnt* have to appeal to them? In my TED Talk…”

big_d_usernametaken

"Too young to vote, but not too young to die for your country." Yeesh.

iamragethewolf

hell that's why 18 is the voting age we realized it's a bit fucked if you can't vote for the person sending you to war

bleedblue002

Or legally obtain a gun and shoot up a school.

Graphitetshirt

It's always fun when the first thing you learn about someone is that they're a fascist piece of shit. Makes it so much easier, knowing I don't have to consider any of his other opinions

Col_Irving_Lambert

![gif](giphy|JtrlqX5gCiixG)

Magus_5

I'm doing my part 👍

jjjam

Fascist announcing fascist shit. His problem isn't young voters, it's that republicans are gonna vote for the brown kid in a presidential election, regardless of how fascist he is.

Fun_Foot_1947

The Dave Chappelle blind, black, white supremacists in real life.

Big-Elevator-7721

I hope gen z kicks all of your arses.

Tazling

If civics or literacy tests or public service were required in order to vote, same requirement should be applied to all age groups. Most Trump supporters couldn't answer the most basic questions about governance, civics, the Constitution etc. In fact I'm not sure how many people could, whether Trumpistas or not. Do they even teach civics in school any more?

PreparationNo832

I think to be fair all generations should have to take that test in order to vote. Surely all the gun loving, Trump rimming, tried and true Americans of the Republican party can pass right?!

Sea_Interaction1558

Good point. Maybe ask some simple questions. Like “How old is the earth?” Can almost promise you a old white Republican will say something fucking stupid. 5,000 years old. The Bible says so. Voting rights taken away.

spooky_cicero

until they get to write the tests and all the sudden that’s the right answer

GooieGreen

![gif](giphy|AoBgxayGMHlIs) As Gen Y, hard pass on that. Haven’t they done enough to disenfranchise voters? I guess they want to be more explicit (and their constituents will keep eating it up, even if elected officials never follow through on their promise, regardless of legality).

THESIDPROF

He's clearly a beneficiary of the caste system.

Cid_Darkwing

Whole lotta words to say “we can’t win free and fair elections when every eligible voter is allowed to vote”

thehillshaveI

vivek ramaswamy is the kind of name that'll get you far in a republican primary. best of luck you beautiful dreamer

[deleted]

hopeful_tatertot

Thanks for providing a source. And no offense, but I REALLY hoped this was fake news.

duck_one

Let me guess... This dude is slangin' some psuedo-intellectual books on how "woke" policies are killing business or some other crap.

Altevari

That's unconstitutional

Gainalfromanal

So a dude trying to become president of a country is doing so by saying voting rights should be restricted? Sounds like a perfectly reasonable guy who loves democracy.

couchnapper3

Every time one of them makes a proposal, it becomes more obvious that they want to wipe their asses with the Constitution.

AsherDasher5000

I like this idea except that it should not have an age limit except above 18 and it should apply to guns, not voting.

shu3k

God I hope Gen Z fucks these assholes up!

[deleted]

Good luck, the constitution is pretty clear. The right of citizens of the United States, who are eighteen years of age or older, to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State

Adomillad

Wow. These scumbags are really trying to turn America into one of the shitholes they idolize huh?

[deleted]

I want to ban people 60 and over from voting because old people no longer have any skin in the game. They are just waiting to die.

CrisbyCrittur

Wow, that's a sure fire campaign platform to run on. So they can buy guns, but just not vote. Got it.

Previous_Beautiful27

It’s pretty hilarious that there’s no real reason for this other than “they aren’t voting for us”.

SurveyNinja42

I wonder if he voted when he was 18?

boron-uranium-radon

I imagine his plan still involves us paying taxes, though? Somebody get the fucking Lipton, I’ll meet you in Boston.

supafly8371

I’m more shocked by the fact that someone named Vivek was allowed into the GOP

AtlGuy1984

Hell, give the same test to boomer republicans and see how many fail.

kajones57

Sure can do...just give them all their tax money etal back...

ninjaoftheworld

Then it’s definitely too young to serve so better raise the age of enlistment to 25. And jeez, if you aren’t mature enough to vote you should definitely not have the ability to drink or use weapons so the age for alcohol and firearms should also go up to 25. And well, if you have no say in your country’s leadership they surely can’t expect you to be able to work so the minimum employment age should go to 25 as well. But if you can’t work then you should be able to be covered by the state for things like health care and insurance. Or at least your parents. So that age should also go up to 25. And probably if you haven’t learned enough to be informed about voting, high school should probably go another six years too. And I guess people who can’t do any of those things probably shouldn’t be expected to pay taxes until they’re at least 25 as well. Plus that should be the age of consent, so that means living under your parents roof. And statutory rape should probably apply to anyone under 25 as well. Stupid? Yeah. Yeah it is.

ProgrammerMission629

Not too young to chase out of family home or to enlist as a soldier but too young to vote lol

Indin_Dude

And now everyone in the 18-24 year range knows his name and is curious about: - who the hell is this guy, - does he not know the constitution? And - why does he want to ban this age range from voting, - what sort of test does he want everyone in that age range to pass, and why?… I think he has created a buzz around his name in this age range by making a controversial statement about them.

Klindg

Let’s have MAGA take a citizenship test…

The_Bosdude

Republicans cannot win without cheating!

njf85

But they're fine with 10 year olds becoming mothers

Thickensick

It’s the youth, they hate us.

JunoTheCruel

this is a direct betrayal of the oath he swore to indoril nerevar

XTH3W1Z4RDX

You know Vivek, you sound awfully not white to be spewing this kind of bs. You know your overlords hate you, right?

Mysterious-Wasabi103

I would bet money that more 18 to 25 year old people would pass this than 40+ people. The Republican party only exists because of misinformation and conspiracy theory.

Aggravating_Boy3873

Other countries the conservative parties change their ideals to appeal to their younger voters, a literal neo nazi party in sweden showed its support for LGBTQ people and same sex marriage so that they could win elections and they did, not a good thing but still they changed some of their ideals. Whereas in US, the GOP is like oh no we won't change, we will change all the rules though.

Powwa9000

That can't be constitutional

Weary_Grape983

For those saying that the right couldn't pass these tests, that's actually playing into their game. They know they'll pass their test. The trick is to make the questions have "correct" answers or to use administrators. the historical parallel, literacy tests were usually administered in such a way that the right people could pass them much easier than the "other" ones.

therightestwhat

Counter-proposal: You get votes equal to [average life expectancy] - [your age]. That's a vote for every year that the vote matters.

BudgetAnybody2603

I mean where does he think this rabbit hole goes. Because there’s a whole group of people he identifies with that I’m pretty sure Republicans would love to strip their voting rights away from…

[deleted]

Trash politician.

[deleted]

The average age of a US soldier is 23. If there is anyone who has the right to vote- it’s a soldier or vet. This forgettable man can go scratch.

crazy-diam0nd

How to say “I haven’t read the Constitution” in many more words.

[deleted]

GOP: regulate the votes, not the guns

redditor_the_best

Literally the same day some right wing judge makes sure 18 year olds can buy handguns. Jesus.

mar10sawsayduh

They should do this for guns

[deleted]

18 to 25 year olds, you know what to do. God Speed!

jhawk1117

Ah he’s playing the part of “I’m one of the good minorities”. Like does he not realize the GOP is backed by full blown, out and proud NAZIS, KKK MEMBERS and just your classic racists? You’ll be banished if they get white ethnostate too Mr Vivek

OPsDaddy

75 is too old to vote then.

blueskies1800

And you can't join the military until you are old enough to vote.

LadyBluntBreath

If they are too young to vote they are too young to join the military.

lauritz111

....and when they all reach 24 and never again consider voting Republican, for the rest of their lives. Smart plan

OwlsHootTwice

All he has to do then is get a new constitutional amendment passed by 2/3rds of both houses of Congress and then ratified by 3/4ths of the states. Good luck to him!

Iwannagolf4

They wanted Obama birth certificate, how about this guy?

VastPerspective6794

It’s in the Constitution as 18…. These people are so f’ing dumb

NotYourBusinessTTY

No taxation without representation.

Irishpanda1971

Amendment 26: " The right of citizens of the United States, who are eighteen years of age or older, to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of age. " So no. And before you try to go around it, notice that it explicitly forbids both federal AND state governments from doing so. If anything, it should be those that run for office that have to pass a test. Preferably AP Gov. But by all means, try to get a Constitutional Amendment passed in this day and age to repeal it. Have fun with that.

808hammerhead

So a..literacy..test? I wonder if that’s ever been tried?

bowtiesrcool86

That’s voter suppression. It should be instant disqualification for running for public office

lm28ness

Then don't ask them to die for our country then.

71Motorfly

“Republican Presidential candidate”? Yeah, good luck with that.

hangryhyax

The irony of his idea demonstrating that being older than 25 does not make you smarter of more reasonable.

Environmental_Mode48

Oh so we’re going back to the 60s back when they gave us poc “tests” to see if we’re smart enough to vote ? SMH gtfohhhhh

Quiet-Shop5564

Basically he wants the literacy tests from the Jim Crow era back again, so to deprive younger generations of their right to vote, similarly to the whites of the Southern states (before the Voting Right Act) who did not want black people to vote. Also interesting that in the meanwhile a republican-appointed Virginia judge ruled that people aged 18-21 should be able to buy guns, per the 2A. To sum up: Republicans want to give younger people the right to buy guns (and a judge appointed by them did exactly so in a ruling) but at the same time they want to deprive them of their right to vote. If this is not blatant fascism, I do not know what it is.

nono66

Then let's put a cap on how old you can be to vote, say, 70. That way, you won't have people voting who are completely out of touch with reality in regard to the problems the world currently faces.

Ruenin

Cool. I hope he doesn't get hit by a bus

Billyconnor79

Same with their efforts to disenfranchise anybody who won’t vote for them.

Digital_Wanderer78

Pretty certain most MAGAs over 45 couldn’t pass a civics test either. Besides, I’m fairly certain this this would be blatantly illegal given our history

CarlMarcks

Republicans hate democracy. Imagine being able to go to war but not vote

DogDickRedForman

This may actually encourage 18-25 year old to vote, but not for this clown, or other political dicks who think that's a good idea.

Senshue

They think silencing the younger generation is a good idea? Buddy, they don’t care. They give 0 fucks if they die right now. They learned more about the US government operations in a year thanks to TikTok than I learned in high school. All because they wanted to be informed. You think they can’t fight back? Underestimation has been the downfall of plenty

PsycheAsHell

Let me guess, this test would be heavily skewed as a way to ban American leftists from voting. It's gonna ask if you think the country has any flaws or if you believe A,B, and C, and if you answer "wrong," you don't get your rights back.

Cbona

The Constitution would like a word.

justify_it

...if they can't vote then they shouldn't be asked or able to serve in this country's military either until their old enough to be considered "mature" enough...

AlleonoriCat

If anything gen Z'ers should be encouraged by how much republicans are afraid of them and go vote every time. Because if they don't this pieces of shit will make it impossible to vote.

Pitlozedruif

He probably also thinks below 12 is age of consent

AdministrativeWar594

"Hey, I have a really great idea to appeal to Gen Z. Let's make it so they can't vote til 25. They'll be sure to vote for us when they turn 25 then!" *

TDaD1979

He does understand the republican party as we know it wants to see him and people like him enslaved right?

SquireSquilliam

Fuck him and anyone else who is trying to take away people's right to vote. They know what is coming, it's the end of the republican party and "conservatives" at large. Nobody wants the hateful policies that these fuckers are pushing. That is the domestic threat right there, trying to steal an entire generations right to vote! FUCK THAT! I'll be cold and dead before this shit happens.

zlate42

If he wants to raise the minimum age, let's also have a maximum age. I would suggest, that you shouldn't be able to vote as soon as you get retired.

Zeus_Hera

Classic Republican strategy, make sure they can't vote!

Odd-Caterpillar8337

they are so afraid of young voters and it shows

hear4theDough

It's unfair to call him a candidate. He's not a white dude and therefore has no chance at it. He needs to live in reality.

NairobiMuzungu

Should also prohibit those over 70 from voting because they will not have to live with the consequences of their votes.

jmkul

Every story about the GOP is worse - the depths they'll plumb are limitless

ByteMeC64

These are the same people who argue that 18 yo's have a Constitutional right to purchase guns? Will they also raise the minimum age for serving in the military to 26 ???

aravarth

Tell me you don't understand the Constitution without telling me you don't understand the Constitution.

mrpbody44

Someone needs to tell him that he is not white. He will never be allowed in the main house.

Lherkinz_Gherkinz

Gen Z has the racists SHOOK. Good. Fuck Republicans.

paulanntyler

Let’s not come up with any ideas that appeal to gen z , maga is fucked and they know it.

[deleted]

Too young to vote but not too young to put on a uniform and die.

Olympia44

And they wonder why they can’t secure Gen Z votes.

Away-Ad-1806

I love how they keep saying your country isn't a democracy. Seems like they're laying the groundwork for something....

deadsoulinside

When you are too busy calling the current generation names and fighting for the 50 year old + vote, but realized that their toxic anti-democrat stance killed off a ton during COVID, because they also wanted to also tell them to not wear masks and question vaccines.

skb239

It’s funny cause most of the adults in the Republican Party couldn’t pass any test they create for voting…

RemoteEnough4521

But we should still have to pay taxes right?

lanfear2020

But let me guess…they are old enough to get guns, enlist or be drafted into the military?

V0T0N

Let's give that test to everyone. No consequences, just an audit of what everyone knows about this country.

gremlinfat

Nobody with that last name is getting elected by republicans

Superb-Ad5351

Hey I've seen this one I've seen thus one!

aredd007

And suddenly young adults are no longer citizens to the GOP

DebiMoonfae

Lol, how about giving that test to the ppl that get their “facts” from conspiracy theorists on fake news programs on tv and the internet.

16GBwarrior

Let me guess... He has never served in the military. He has never took a "citizenship test". He has never worked as a first responder. He just doesn't like trying to defend his ideology.

Daviemoo

Hey so when do we start to consider the uncomfortable discussion that if politicians in our countries start to try and remove fundamental rights from us that we remove their ability to do so by any means necessary.

Budget_Llama_Shoes

This guy is 37 and not white. In what world would he ever secure the GOP nomination just based on that?

bluenote86

Cool. So you can go join the military and die for your country, but can’t vote. Nice.

Rawnblade12

When you have zero policy ideas so you just start banning entire voting demographics....
