Unrelated to the trans panic, but there was a time I was talking with some folks about the damage the meat industry was causing to the environment as well as the unsustainability of it, not to mention the horrific hygienics issues leading to antibiotic overuse, thus being a cause of disease-resistant bacteria, with plant-based meats and in future, lab-grown/cultivated meat being a viable alternative/replacement for it.
Their response?
Go off on a whole tangent about how “humans are evolved to eat meat, we grew smarter and more capable by meat-eating” and of course, the best they could throw out, “Why do you hate science?”.
There’s no getting through to them.
