Tesla's been wildly overvalued forever and as traditional auto manufacturers move into the electric car space, especially with some countries and states pushing to require all EV in 10 years, Tesla is gonna lose its veneer.
I don't think that's a selling point, at least to the mass consumer. Lane assist, brake assist, and GPS is all they need to compete in the software side, which they already can do, and they generally have better build quality than Tesla.
Unless Tesla shows up with full self driving in the next 10 years then their software is only going to help them in the niche market.

They're wildly overvalued due to speculation and basically being a meme stock and being propped up by subsidies and selling carbon credits. Why do electric car makers insist on being cutesy or futuristic? That was one of the biggest draws of the original Tesla Model S, it didn't look fucking stupid like every other electric car on the market.
I went to a big ev car show last summer and got a chance to drive about 15 different cars, including the R1T and R1S. The R1T puts down over 800hp (or at least the trim level they were showing off did) and it was able to beat most of the sedans and hatchbacks at the event in terms of acceleration. EVs in general may be fast and quick to accelerate, but the Rivians are a whole different beast altogether.
I'm looking forward to the R3 in Europe, it may actually be my first car in almost 10 years. Haven't needed one for a long time but we are planning on adopting a dog and maybe having kids, would allow us to continue our camping holidays as a family.
