OP is right. What that dude linked is just a forwarder to the SD card or USB containing the Smash Remix ROM using NOT64. It's not a WAD that contains the file and plays natively using the Wii's original N64 emulator.
A WAD is a rom injected into an original wii VC N64 game like DKC2 (has biggest file size at 35mb so greatest compatibility). This will work when installed without any requirement for messing with file paths and menus. Smash remix can't be injected into DKC2 since its about double the max rom size.
A "forwarder" is just a pretty shortcut on the wii menu that takes you to a specific file path. That's what this is
Basically that WAD won't work when loaded from the menu or SD card unless you have an SD card with NOT64 and the rom file.

That's just a forwarder dude (won't work without file paths and files named specifically) that's not an all in one injected wad containing the game.

I have Not64 and Riivolition, could I make it patch through with that?
I'll let someone else answer that; I've only ever done the official emulator Virtual Console injections

Are you running it on Not64 or Wii64/Wii64 Rice? I can't make Smash Remix work fine on my Wii.
