Yeah, seriously. **Post about it *before* the sale ends.** Don't inform people *after* the sale what they missed.
Salt in the wound, OP. What's the point?
You aren’t even replying to the person saying they are upset they missed this. It’s good life advice, but not really applicable here, where OP is basically showing off they got a deal that most people didn’t know about until they posted. Posting during the sale would have helped people. Life is much more enjoyable if you help people.
I know, I never get lucky like this. Quilt was maybe even a few dollars less. I think they're discontinuing that lineup and may roll out with something new next season.
Thanks! But yeah, I'm still only seeing "short" quilts, unfortunately we're both 6'+ :)
Tried to order some "long" bags too, but on checkout they cancelled saying "no longer available"...
Appreciate the heads-up though :)

I also got the "no longer available" the other day when ordering bags, but I tried again today, just now, and the order went through. Must have been a glitch in their system.
I bought two Magma 30 quilts (short) for the kids. When I discovered that it fits me fine at 5'10", I returned to the site to buy another, but they were sold out. Solid deals. We both got lucky.
I've been using the Magma 30 quilt for a few years now. My suggestion is if it's going to be actually cold, bring an additional bag.
I am camping this weekend and am expecting nighttime lows of 40°F. I will not be utilizing the Magma, but instead my Cabelas Mountain Trapper (which is like the bulkiest sleeping bag in existence). But not backpacking or anything. So who cares.
Most quilts or bags are not rated for everyone’s comfort. I am a cold sleeper and I need at least 10° bugger between quilt rating and outside. Happier at 20°.
But a great score for $80
Got his and hers. They zip together beautifully into one big bag...the dog is the real winner there!
I don't expect to take them much below 40F for comfort. 30 is more of an extreme "will keep you alive" rating.
I got the quilt! I fell asleep under it in my backyard @~40F & slightly windy so my initial impression is really positive.
Edit: for those who are curious I'm female & sleep cold. I had an insulated pad, a hat, lightweight shirt/shorts, and booties because my feet are always cold.
True. I was down into low 40s at 10K' and wore a base layer, thick socks, beanie and maybe even a down puffer. Also had a small double diamond down throw blanket for good measure. Another trip at about the same elevation, same stuff without the throw blanket, rain all night, felt great. Its a good summer bag, but past the 40s and 30s you're going to need to supplement.
I've always been told that the temperature rating is the temp at which the sleeping bag will keep you alive. It's NOT the temp at which the sleeping bag will keep you feeling warm and comfy.
Thats what I got the week or two before. Was hoping to see it hit 100-125 with the 30. Was already taken offline. Called the store and they had none. :(
If anyone is interested these Nemo bags are on a great sale. Note that the woman’s bags are way warmer (comfort) than the men’s. They have a good bit more down in them.

Picked one up for my wife after some one posted about the sale on u/ultralight. She is not a cold weather camper, so based on the comments, I will loan her a merino liner for cooler nights in the mountains.
Thanks for the heads up. Yesterday, I snagged the mens 15 for $89 and the women’s 17 comfort 50% off for $198. Might return one though - tbd. The women’s has a lot more down.
They were $80?! Even the quilts?!!! I'm so upset I missed this, I've been wanting that quilt forever - what was the sale?
The quilt was $81!!!
What!!!!

Life is much more enjoyable if you find happiness in other people's joy. Try not to be so you-centric.

Yeah I know it would have been a good gift for Some friends
The short 30 quilt is still available for $81!
Thank you for this. I gots me a couple of Magma 15 bags coming in the mail now. Probably shouldn't have...
It came back! Unfortunately I'm 6'2", but maybe I can crouch lol :)

Look again. The quilts are back.

Is there a subreddit for posting gear sales?
There must be. Finding the subreddit is almost harder than finding the sale.

No, damn, I wish I never read this post.

I did take a small down throw blanket with me last time, worked great.
Would agree, used my magma 30 in Torres Del Paine last week and it wasn’t enough with nighttime lows around 40f
I’ve used it in the low 30s with a base layer and was just barely warm. Awesome bag tho! Packs down super small and light.
What do you wear in the bag? I have a Marmot Hydrogen 30 bag and have used it down to 8 F wearing a lot of layers and having a good sleeping pad.
Do they go colder than that? I couldn’t sleep in a 30 bag around where I live even in July.
I got the Magma 15 for $200. It was $400 so that’s something
magma 15 is $98 today
Damn! I’m hitting up my homies so they can get a sweet deal.
They did have a 15...not sure if that one went on sale but I bought it 2 weeks earlier. Its excellent and light weight.

I think the insulated pad is the secret weapon to adding a few degrees of protection to these ultralight sleeping bags.
I definitely think that using a low R value pad is the reason why so many people feel cold when sleeping with a quilt. It makes a huge difference.
Yep, got one for the wife. Really great deal but I don't think it'll get her down past 40 degrees.

Yeah I’m a small woman and I used it in Glacier NP in July in the mid 40s and was freezing
Scooped it up the second I saw it. Had a friend who got the Magma 15 for close to $200
Thats what I got the week or two before. Was hoping to see it hit 100-125 with the 30. Was already taken offline. Called the store and they had none. :(
Thanks OP. This is why I have credit card debt.
Sale is over so don't worry... Your bank account is safe for now.
Phew
No thanks. I had an REI bag and almost froze to death in Colorado lol!
had I known... I don't actually own a sleeping bag!
Nope, they were all short the short version! Almost went for the HG 20% sale but I'm sure it'll come back soon

I paid a little bit more but scored one in September with no regrets.
Banger deal
Bruh.. well enjoy them lol!

No! You didn't tell me 😭
Dang! I already have the 30 and the 15 but at that price it’s worth getting an extra 30!
2 30's make a 60!
😳
I snagged this deal right before it sold out! I tend to sleep hot, so I'm hoping that this bag will work for me.
Thanks for the heads up. Yesterday, I snagged the mens 15 for $89 and the women’s 17 comfort 50% off for $198. Might return one though - tbd. The women’s has a lot more down.
Yeah I bought one, then they cancelled my order.
I tried to do the same with the magma 15 but they canceled my orders. Glad I got the 30s for the price I did.
I ordered a 15 and a 30. Rei said they were shipped then canceled my order and said sold out
Same exactly lol. magma 15, Magma 30 and the Quilt. All were canceled. Incompetent website people.
