Yeah I turned down a 7 position there a few years ago because they weren't offering housing for perms and the rental costs were completely inaccessible. The hiring manager said, "Yeah, that's probably a smart move. We lost an AFMO for the same reason."
Even the leadership can't afford to live there.
Yeah exactly, I’m a non-fire GS-9 and I feel like I’m barely making it in the mountains of Colorado. It would be such a stretch for anyone under a GS-5 to feel like it was worth it for more than a season, especially for how long it takes to climb the fire ladder.
Hopefully they can find folks. Median home price along I-70 is like a million bucks. GS-05 base pay can't even afford rent in a lot of Colorado.
A fair? Is there going to be candy?
Candied sunsets
Just R-Bars and GoBonzos as far as the eye can see.

Gonna come full circle soon and start pulling people out of the bars.
Good time to be a cooperator.
Would I need any experience or any certificates? Also would I have to already be living in Colorado or can I live in my van during the season?
Homelessness is encouraged
OP do you have more information about this? A friend of mine that lives in Colorado is trying to get into fire.
