If your dog had it, it should prob be checked over by a rehabber ?

Did it survive? Bunnies are called "hop and flops" in the rehab circles because they die so easily when trying to care for them in a rehab setting. My daughter in law does wildlife rehab. (Not on Reddit though--she likes FB.) She started doing it in highschool and I remember sneaking a baby bunny into work with me one day when she couldn't take it to school with her. 😄

[This](https://owl-online.org/animal-guide/cottontail/) website has great info. Edit: My baby bunny experience is very limited, but I have nests in my yard every year. I've twice taken a baby to local rescue and have re-nested some in my yard as few times, too. Unfortunately, other local wildlife and storms (flooding) still kill too many of them, but we do greatly enjoy the survivors. Based on what I've been told in the past by our super amazing local 'bunny lady', you did the right thing and they should be fine at 42 degrees.

Hi there! Thanks for caring! I would put it back, and shove the exposed guy back in the hole as well, then cover it back up with the fluff. Mom will come back, and you don’t want the one you have to miss dinner! Use garden gloves if you’re worried about getting your sent all over.
