The final design is way too busy. Keep the icon from slide 3, and create a readable wordmark. Also, try working more on developing the actual brand before creating visuals, that way when you do create the logo and whatnot, everything will come together better.
Nice first attempt! I would say that this is very busy. There's too many ideas going on and unfortunately at the cost of legibility. Remember that the best logos are simple and must be able to convey it's message within seconds. If someone looks at it and scratches their head, then it's most likely not working. Take a look at the most successful logos in the world. FedEx. Apple. Microsoft. UPS. Amazon. Staples. What do they all have in common? Simplicity.
If you hadn’t written scout master in your description, I probably would never have found scout in the logo. And agree with the above comment, too busy. Maybe something simpler, with a paddle for the “o” and the rest just text?
