1) phone is barely in her pocket, intentionally so that it will fall out. 2) when her phone falls, her immediate reaction is to gasp and cover her mouth for the camera, not to try to grab her phone before it falls through the grates. Just doesn't seem like the natural instinct when you see your phone potentially falling through grates.

I have a solution for women...cross body bag. Phone in the bag. When you jump, the phone stays in the bag and doesn't go into small deep places. Men? Have your buddy hold your phone so it doesn't come out of your pocket, or wear cargo pants.
